((Edit: note to all people who are not me, Lee, or MorriganFearn...this RP is closed. If you want to do a Sinnoh RP, you are welcome to make your own! (We may join anyway, just for the heck of it...but no stealy our plot-y! ) Can't...think...of...good...title...bleh... Mori-chan, Lee...help me out here. Is the title okays? Anyways...the two of you! Yeah, I'm talkin' to you! I can't think of a good bio...so here's the one I'm going to use (it's a blatant ripoff of the standard Jenta one): Name: Nickname (if any): Age: Physical Description: Personality: History: Pokemon (if any...the limit is 3): Starter: And here's mine: Name: Ryuukawa Amaya Nickname: Rain Age: 14 Physical Description: Amaya has the typical blue hair and slightly-dark skin of the Johto Dragon Clan, but has foreign brown eyes. She's average height for girls in the region, around 5' 5", and sort of thin-ish/muscular. The Dragon Clan does NOT like overweight family members. She usually wears a black dress-type-thing (or her school uniform) when dealing with her family, but her usual attire when out of her family's watchful eye usually consists of jeans (usually frayed at the bottom from use), "white" sneakers (sightly dirty), white socks (which are never seen from behind the shoes or pants), some sort of sleeveless shirt (usually yellow, since that's her favorite color), and sometimes a black jacket (just because black goes with everything and is the warmest color). She also likes to have her long blue hair in a ponytail, just to keep it out of her face. For her Sinnoh journey, she purchased a pink Poketch, which she wears on her left wrist. Personality: Sort of cheerful at times, sort of moody at times, sort of crazy at times, sort of serious at times. She's just a "beginning teenage girl", so her mood swings are less severe and her emotions less extreme. Overall, she can really only be described as normal...if not a little overly moody. Amaya doesn't handle losses well, though, and hates it when she can't get her way. She's also a bit selfish, and has no qualms about lying to get her way. History: Rain is a teenager who grew up in Blackthorn City as a part of the dragon clan. She wasn't directly related to Clair or Clair's grandfather (the head of the clan), but she was a part of it...and therefore was expected to be a dragon trainer in the proper way. That meant study for The Test, taking The Test on her tenth birthday, and then training her dragon (while catching others) from that day forward. Well, Rain didn't want to...and wasn't too happy when she passed The Test, receiving a special dragon clan-only Extremespeed dratini. She and the dragon didn't see eye-to-eye, and she didn't exactly like dragons to begin with. After talking to a non-clan friend in Mahogany Town who had an baby meowth from a litter (persian were known to sometimes lay multiple eggs), she agreed to trade her dratini for the "runt of the litter" (complete with only one eye!). They did it in secret just before Rain's eleventh birthday after much discussion on the matter... And the clan was more than livid when they found out. A COMMONER from the town with the ICE GYM having one of their dratini? And from a clan member, no less! Rain's parents, thoroughly ashamed of their daughter, promptly took her meowth away, since it was as un-dragon-like as you could possibly get (it even had an ice-type hidden power). Her parents even tried tempting her with foreign dragons, thinking it was just dratini she didn't like. Rain almost kicked the beautiful black bagon named Ruby... Rain whined about how she didn't WANT dragons, she wanted other Pokemon (she liked normal and grass types the most at that age). When she threatened to run away and go to Professor Elm's lab to get a starter, she was banned from leaving home until she had a dragon. The dragon clan even went so far as to ban her from training in the Johto region. Finally, at thirteen, she found a solution. A partial dragon...something that wasn't REALLY a dragon, but had "dragon-like characteristics". During that time she had entered her swooning-over-ripped-guys phase, and was head-over-heels for Kanto's Brock. Lucky for her...when looking into rock-types, she saw that some onix learned Dragonbreath naturally, and could learn the Sinnoh TM Dragon Pulse. Rain took the idea to her parents, who agreed. Onix, while not generally used by dragon trainers, was acceptable if it knew Dragonbreath. They took the idea to the clan itself, and they agreed...on the condition that it knew Dragonbreath at birth, and that she had to train in Sinnoh. Why? Because it also, by the time she returned home, had to know Dragon Pulse. And that TM was found only in Sinnoh... Once she finished her second year of middle school, she enrolled in an online school for the third. She already received a baby onix (which Rain watched hatch from an egg...a strange experience), and he grew quite nicely in the rugged mountains of Blackthorn. At fourteen, studying for her high school entrance exams became second priority as she left for Sinnoh with her onix and promise to get the TM for Dragon Pulse in hand. Pokemon: 1: Onix. ---Onix (Rocky...he picked the name) (M): Rocky is Amaya's Onix, who she trained a bit already. Although Amaya still gets moody about her Meowth-who-now-belongs-to-a-non-clan-neighbor, she has grown pretty close to Rocky. Rocky is a pretty nice, sensible guy who can deal with Amaya's mood swings better than anyone. He also shares her slight dislike for dragons (although he has dragon ancestry), since the dragons he trained with all thought they were better than him. Oh well. He whipped them with Dragonbreath... Starter: Chimchar --- Now then, we're starting in Twinleaf Town. Why? I don't know...eheh?)) --- Amaya grinned as she stepped off the bus into Twinleaf Town. She wasn't due at the Sandgem Laboratory until the next day, and figured she could relax at the sleepy town by the lake. It wasn't as if she was going to find the Dragon Pulse TM in the beginning of her journey... The teenager yawned as she stared into the morning sun. Well, not right into it, that would be stupid, but sort of near it. The sky was blueish-yellow in ring around the bright sun, and it made her happy. "Aaah!" She sighed, stretching her arms. Her sleeveless yellow shirt fluttered in the wind, and the yellow "jewels" along the neckline sparkled. Well, hey, plastic can be shiny... "It's so good to get away from Johto!" Amaya punched the air, a grin on her face. "No stupid dragon trainers, no stupid dragon clan, no stupid dragon gym..." She then looked around at the town. The sleepy green buildings slept under the sun peacefully, a few people stepping around them in time to the chime of...some sort of wild Pokemon. A few late-staying Kricketot, maybe? Amaya closed her eyes, listening to the song. It was so pretty...and so foreign. So many strange Pokemon in Sinnoh...

((Sounds fine to me. XD
Name: Megan Robledo Nickname (if any): Mmm...Not yet. Age: 12 (and a half!) Physical Description: Around five feet tall, she isn't a beauty queen, but she isn't a hag. You could classify her as being inbetween, if you had to. She's pale, though that's to be expected when you don't go outside as often as everyone else. Her hair is the color of faded wheat, and pulled back into two pigtails at the base of her head in the back, reaching to her shoulders. Her eyes are a similiarily faded blue, and across the bridge of her nose and her cheeks is a spattering of freckles. She has a hat with a large, round, brim on her head; a brown one with cloth covering where her head is, but otherwise plaited whicker. A wide pink ribbon is tied around the base of the little dome where her head is, finished off in a large bow on the front left side. She has on a white shirt, all but hidden but by her neck by the bright pink, the same color as the bow, jacket that buttons up the front, though the top button is left undone. She wears a soft brown skirt, ankle-length. The worn tennis shoes she wears are dirty white, the left with pink laces, and the right with brown ones. Her crutches are plastic, since that’s more suited to traveling around with rather than her smooth wooden ones. Personality: A girl to the extreme, with all the abilities of a woman that has control over the house. She can cook (which is probably a good thing, since she gets tired of uncooked food quickly), she does laundry and any other sort of cleaning. She lives by the code of neatness, including the manner of dressing. She doesn't wear long skirts and dressed to cover up her leg-She doesn't care about that, not anymore. She wears them because they are skirts and dresses, and she has shorter ones as well, even a nice summer dress that goes to her knees. She likes to dress other people up, including pokemon. She gets very defensive when someone asks if she needs help, and she prefers to do everything by herself. This stubborn streak can get her into hard places, but eventually she will see the reason of it and accept help...If grudgingly. History: It was both a sad day, and a happy day, her birthday. Megan had always known it to be that for her mother. It wasn’t because of something she did, or that she was getting older each year. Even the twelve year old girl knew very well it was because of how she was and it didn’t take a genius to figure out that the knowledge bothered her even more than the problem itself bothered her mother.
Megan was the youngest child of a family of three, and her mother’s last link with their dead father. It was she who had gotten his looks, while her brother and sister took after her mother. Certainly she wasn’t the spoiled brat she could be, nor the upset girl she might have been, being cooped up inside all the time with her mother, as the aging woman clung to her last link with a very much beloved, and late, husband. Not that she was a perfect child, having her faults like every other daughter or son in the world. She skipped her chores as often as she could, reveled in doing the forbidden, and generally was a pest so far as the neighbor’s could see. At times, she was the good girl, and did her chores, behaved herself, and was an angel to the same neighbors who shouted at her on a regular basis.
None of this happened on her birthday. On her birthday, her mother set her siblings to do her chores, just as she did on their birthday’s, she was able to do (almost) anything, and the good cheer even made it to her neighbor’s, at least in part. Yet, on this happy day, her mother’s eyes always held the hint of tears, and Megan was afraid she’d start crying any moment, never mind that she never did.
It was all because of her stupid leg. In her childish anger, she used every ‘bad’ word she knew, directed at it in her mind, for making her mother sad. It didn’t bother her, since Megan had had it her whole life. It was deformed, twisted and shorter than the other. She had her moments of jealousy, when she saw the other children running and playing games she never could, but she was good at heart and those, and the bouts of anger and unhappiness, rarely lasted for more than a heartbeat. Yet, it seemed that the sadness and guilt in her mother wouldn’t go away, and it ate away at Megan’s heart. She didn’t want her mother to be sad, but she was, and it was because of Megan. That was why Megan suffered so; because she knew in her heart that it was her fault her mother was never truly happy.
So far as Megan knew, there was no true reason for her leg to be this way. Her mother hadn’t suffered anything unusual during the pregnancy, and there wasn’t a record in the family of any deformations. Come to that, there were no records of any medical condition besides that of an allergy to feathered pokemon, which her sister had, as well as their great aunt. Who knew before that? The family tree didn’t go back all that far, since both of her great-great grandparents had been orphans with no link to their past families.
So while there was no reason for it, her mother blamed herself, sure it was something she had done. Megan had once tried to tell her that it wasn’t her fault, and that it really didn’t bother Megan. That had ended in her mother breaking into tears, and Megan fleeing the room, hating to be the cause for her mother’s sadness.
Her entire life was spent indoors, nearly, the reason for her pale skin. Her mother had become overprotective of her youngest child, and Megan rarely went outside…At least, rarely was allowed to go outside. She snuck outside to play a couple of times a week, feeding the Caterpie at the edge of their little garden, which bordered the Viridian Forest. She’d made a great many friends with the little pokemon, perhaps making up for her lack of true human ones.
Not to say that she didn’t have any, since she did have two good friends. Isabella and Rocky, twins who looked so different it wasn’t hard to tell the brother and sister apart, came over to play. They lived all the way in Pewter though, so they had to pass through the Viridian Forest, and no matter how brave a child would say they were, only the pokemon trainers Megan occasionally saw ever went in there without a parent.
Megan had tried, once. She’d gotten angry at her mother, about something she didn’t even remember anymore, though she thought it had something to do with not being allowed outside without her mother there. That was a common argument, and one that Megan always lost. She’d waited until later that night, and then crept down the stairs, crawling so that her crutches wouldn’t clunk on the wooden things, and then headed out to Viridian Forest.
It was pure luck she managed to find her way back out, the next morning. If she hadn’t made friends with the Caterpie, she probably would have had to wait for searchers to find her, but the little bug pokemon had lead her out, after finding her beneath the canopy of a tree, crying. Her mother had forgotten to even be angry with her, overjoyed that she was alright, minus scratches and scrapes.
Finally, the day came that her brother received a pokemon and set out on his adventure. Their mother had thought for at least a year before he was allowed to (though he was ten when he got one, for she was only eight), so when he expressed his desire to her, she let him go. He went to Pallet Town that very day, and the next day he came back with a Bulbasaur, and stayed for an entire week before he left for Pewter, actually going through the forest. He said he wasn’t scared of it though, now that he had Kina with him. Megan knew, now, that he had only stayed because his sisters were so taken with Kina, Megan especially. She played with the little pokemon nearly every day, only leaving Kina alone when she was called off to do something. The Bulbasaur didn’t mind, even enjoyed the attention of another girl, liked being dressed up with bows and ribbons.
Then, her sister got a pokemon, the next year. She didn’t want to be a pokemon trainer, like Andrew, and her pokemon wasn’t one of the Kanto starters. It was a birthday present from her boyfriend (They got married the very next month), an adorable little thing Jordan had bought from a couple that bred pokemon, a Cleffa. For the month that Amy stayed at the home, since moving in with Jordan would have been a scandal to her mother, and she had sold her own home when he proposed to her, Megan was able to play with him. Andy didn’t like to be dressed up, but Megan didn’t really fault him. He was, after all, a he, and could hardly be expected to enjoy being dressed in bows and ribbons and little tuxedos. What he did like to do was sit in Megan’s lap while she was on the porch (her mother watching from the kitchen window while she did dishes), drawing the various pokemon or the scenery around the house.
Then, Andy and Amy left, the twenty year old sister having gotten married and all. Megan was left alone with her mother and Caterpie friends. When she was ten, she asked her mother if she could go on a journey…And the answer was no. Megan had known that would be it, and all because of her stupid, idiotic, Mew-cursed leg! She sulked for days after that, before breaking down and begging her mother for a pokemon, even if she couldn’t go adventuring. Because she wouldn’t go adventuring, she couldn’t get one of the rare starters, but her Caterpie friends would be fine with her. It took a great deal of patience, begging, and puppy faces, but finally her mother relented and bought her a pokeball, telling her that it was the only one she was going to buy her, and after that she’d have to buy her own pokeballs to capture pokemon with. As well as saying, quite firmly, that she was only allowed one pokemon, no more.
Megan didn’t catch a caterpie on her first try. She couldn’t weaken the thing, without another pokemon, after all, and for all that they were her friends they weren’t going to just roll over and let her catch one. She saved her allowance money up to buy two more, and tried tricking one into a pokeball capture, laying out sweet food, then tossing it onto the pokemon. That didn’t work though, since the Caterpie had gotten energy from the food and was quite hyper. The third try, she waited until they were asleep, and threw one.
She managed to capture one that time, though it also involved running from some startled Beedrill when the Caterpie all woke up and crashed through the undergrowth. It was really interesting to watch that-A Caterpie stampede. Very interesting. In any case, she now had her own pokemon, a cute little Caterpie by the name of Nissan. He didn’t mind the name, and he enjoyed being dressed up, considering he was fairly vain. Excessively vain, in fact. Nissan became part of the family, and life went on.
Her grandfather came to visit, something that didn’t happen often since he lived all the way in Sinnoh, having moved there last year from Johto. With him, he brought hope to Megan, when she stumbled into hearing distance of him and her mother while going to get a glass of water. They thought she was asleep, and Megan couldn’t help but stop to eavesdrop, being just as curious, no more curious, than the average child, and certainly not upset about a little rule-breaking.
“Annie, dear, she’s itching for more freedom. And instead of giving it to her, you take more away. If you don’t let her go, even just a little, you’re going to have a very large problem on your hands. She’ll grow angry or bitter; when she starts to think about how little she’s allowed to do.”
“Father, she’s my daughter, I know what’s best for her! Letting her go off on her own…It would be a horrible thing to do! What would she do if she tripped, and her crutches broke? What if there was no one around? What if she’d broken her good leg?”
Megan winced as she heard her mother’s voice rising into something akin to a whine. She felt a little resentful as well, since it seemed her mother had less faith in Megan than Andrew did, and he’d always been a protective brother!
“Annie, Annie, Annie. I’m not telling you how to raise her, or what’s best for her, but I am telling you what is likely to happen. You never had the wish to travel; you don’t know how it can eat a person up inside until they go and see the world. You never even had a wish for a pokemon, for heaven’s sake! Take it on good advice, Annie; you’ll have to let her go. I’ll tell you what, honey. I’ve got a little friend back in Johto-She’ll be getting ready to get a pokemon herself in a couple of weeks and in Sinnoh. Why don’t I ask her to travel with Megan, when I go back? If she agrees, Megan can come, and then, if anything happens-Which I doubt-She’ll not be alone.”
Megan clutched the handles of her crutches, not noticing her knuckles go white. In her mind, she pleaded with her mother to agree, promising she’d do anything, anything at all, if only she could go!
“Father! You’d entrust her safety, your own granddaughter’s-my daughter!-to a young girl who’s as like to leave her behind because she can’t run to keep up?”
Megan bit her lip, silently cheering on her grandfather. He knew what it was like, to want to see something of the world before you couldn’t anymore, even just a little bit! Surely he’d find a way to get her mother to let her go!
“Annie! I’d never, never put Megan in danger! She’s a very reliable young girl, and I’d trust myself to her if it were I with the twisted leg!” His voice took on a softer tone, “Daughter, dear, she’ll be safe. Even if she didn’t have the girl along with her, she’d have a pokemon who would no doubt be very loyal to her. So far as you’ve told me, she’s a knack for making friends with them! Don’t deny her, her one true desire.”
Megan held her breath, then let it out in a rush so loud she were afraid she might’ve been heard, when her mother finally replied. “…Fine, Father. I’ll agree, but only once she’s agreed to go with her! She’d better be trustworthy, Father, because I’ll never forgive her…Or you…If anything happens to Megan. I couldn’t.”
Megan didn’t wait to hear her grandfather’s reply to that. With the hope she’d just been given, her mother’s warning hardly registered in her mind, as she hurried back up the stairs to her room, glass of water forgotten.
The next day her grandfather left and for an anxious two weeks Megan was on edge, hardly able to concentrate on her drawings in the hope that this mysterious boy would agree to travel with her and therefore let Megan travel. The idea of having a chaperone wasn’t wonderful, but Megan would have agreed to travel with a bitter old woman who hated her and hated pokemon and hated the world in general if it meant she could travel with a pokemon. When her mother finally spoke to her about it, it was while they were washing dishes.
Megan pretended to not know about the entire thing, and it wasn’t hard to make her eyes widen at the abbreviated version of events her mother told her, nor to express her gratitude and excitement when her mother told her the girl had agreed, and that Megan was to go to Sinnoh two days later. She left her mother looking a bit shocked, after kissing and hugging her and hurrying to her room to pack.
Thus, Megan made it to Sinnoh and began her adventure.
Pokemon: Nissan, the Caterpie. Male. He's vain and still slightly upset about being captured, because he hadn't been alert enough to hear her stumbling through the forest while he was asleep, like every other Caterpie. However, he's fond of Megan, and likes to be dressed up by her, because he thinks it makes him look 'dashing'. Starter: Piplup
...Just ignore her history for the most part, unless you /want/ to read it. 0.o It's not all that interesting. -shrugs-))
An older man was looking around with a keen gaze, before grinning and making his way towards Amaya. "There she is...Come along now, girl, best get you introduced to the other girl getting her starter tomorrow...You'll have to travel with her, until you get a pokemon suited to getting you out of scrapes..."
Megan, easily keeping pace with him despite her infirmity, simply because he was slow and she'd been on crutches her whole life, grimaced. "I don't need a babysitter, Grandfather. Mother never has to know I went on my own...And I won't be getting into scrapes. I could get myself out of them anyways."
Her grandfather ignored her, hurrying towards Amaya, and brushing sweat off his brow. He really wasn't up to all of this, wasn't the spry young man he used to be. "Excuse me, excuse me. Amaya?"
Sullenly behind him, Megan stroked Nissan's head as he dozed on her shoulder. At least the caterpie didn't keep telling her she needed a babysitter, like every other person she met.
((Mmmm...I hope the history is okay with you, Nyaa. I can change it if you would like me to.))

Name: Jacob Fitz
Age: 33
Description: Jacob's eyes are pretty much blank all the time, otherwise they would be consided a lovely blue, but the blank expression and hollow eye sockets are enough to put anyone off. To go with his eyes, his hair was blonde, but it now greying prematurely from stress, angst, and his recent stay in prison. His clothes are all second hand, and don't fit him well, but he hopes that when he starts eating well again that it will change. Personality: Jacob used to be a very cheerful, optimistic person. He was confident, good with his pokemon and go attached to people easily. Perhaps a little too easily. He really never took rejection well. Now he's reserved, quiet, and easily depressed. But his optimism is still there underneath it all, or he would have found a rock to crawl under and die, rather than go to Sinnoh.
History: Jacob is originally from Johto, and was actually considered a very good trainer for a long time. His starter was an eevee that a good friend caught for him. This eevee, Soul, evolved into an espeon out of love and loyalty. Too bad there's a fine line between love and obsession, and Soul crossed it very quickly. At first she was content with just keeping people away from Jacob. Then she started knocking out anyone who tried to become more than fair friends with Jacob. And then she drove Jacob's girlfriend insane, and tok away her trainer's ability to feel emotions. And then she killed Jacob's best friend and took complete control of her trainer's mind, for his own good, of course. Always for his own good.
When Jacob managed to break free of Soul's control he drowned her, and then turned himself in for murder. This was probably the lowest point of his career. He spent ten years in prison and when he was released, he didn't really know what to do with himself. He got an appartment in Goldenrod, and stayed there moping until someone told him: "Look, stop being such an Emo McAngstypants, and start over somewhere new."
Jacob, seeing the value of this suggestion, and also taking the threat of possibly being hit with a frying pan if he continued to brood, took the suggestion, and brought a ticket for a boat to Sinnoh.
Pokemon: 0
Starter: Turtwig
~~~
Jacob rubbed his eyes sleepily as he got off the bus. He'd forgotten that traveling meant staying up late to catch the only bus away from the ferry.
He breathed the fresh air, and sighed happily. He was so glad to be away from the sea. And the seasickness that accompanied. Here, he couldn't even detect a hint of salt. Really, early morning in this place seemed to be very nice, actually. The people hadn't really com out of their houses yet, so the only people around were the fellow bus passengers. Birds were chriping, the breeze was rustling, life seemed good.
"It's so good to get away from Johto!"
Jacob looked over at the young girl who said this, and coul;dn't help agreeing with the statement. He actually felt happy here, and bad memories didn't seem to be plaguing him. Of course, now that he thought about it... Wait, no, don't think about the memories, and they don't plague you.
His mind switched tracks instantly, intent on preserving his good mood. Now what? Was there a lab somewhere that he was supposed to go to?
(('Tis fine. ^_^))
Amaya blinked at the old man and the crippled girl blankly. Um...these people...who...are... Then she swore (mentally).
"OHMYGOSH!" She all-but yelled, a shocked and horrified expression spreading over her face. "I'm so sorry! I totally forgot I was going to babysit, too!" Of course, Amaya didn't know much about Megan and her dislike for the word "babysit" in reference to the journey.
The teenager sighed, sadly. Amaya was always forgetting things like that...it was another fault The Clan always seemed to find in her. That compounded with her general dislike for the beasts of myth helped label her as a Failure. Failure, Failure, Failure...
She paused, then remembered the old man had called her "Amaya". She didn't mind the name, much, but The Clan picked it out for her (it was regulation - parents would pick three boy and three girl names and submit them to the elders. Later, they'd receive either one boy name and one girl name to use when the baby was born, depending on the announced gender), so she decided to rebel.
And get a nickname.
A very angsty-sounding nickname at that. She picked "Rain", since, well, "Night" seemed a bit too far. And it would make sense, too, to use a translation for one of the kanji...
"Please call me Rain," Amaya chirped, smiling at Megan. Time to put her amazing skills she fine-tuned when raising Rocky to the test! Almost immediately, she turned on her "camp counselor" attitude, turning her emotions happy and bubbly. "You must be Megan! It's nice to meet you!"
However, suddenly another person distracted her. A grown-up man, looking almost as lost as she felt once she got off the bus, stumbled around relatively near to her. She vaguely remembered him from the bus ride from the airport to the Twinleaf Town bus stop...
Her "I'm a happy babysitter" attitude bleeding over towards the man, she grinned. "Hey! You were from the bus, right? You a native?"
Megan stiffened, the tightening of her shoulders waking up Nissan, as much as her halt in stroking his head. The Caterpie looked around curiously, wondering what had happened.
Megan's eyes narrowed, "...Grandfather..." If he had told her she was going to be Megan's babysitter, then she would have Nissan cover him with a string shot until someone took it off of him. It would be as he deserved.
She was distracted however, by 'Rain's chatter, which gave her enough time to figure that covering her grandfather in string was not a good idea. It was his work that had gotten her here, after all, or she'd still be at home drawing Caterpie and trees.
What was the girl? Schizophreniac? Megan was proud of herself for remembering the word (She had no love of reading, but when you were inside alot, you tended to read more than normal people), but it was a true curiosity. She seemed to be able to change her moods quite easily, if she wasn't. First she was spacey, then she was all shocked and horrified, and then she was happy and bubbly.
Megan preferred the first one, and the last was her least faviorate. Happy and bubbly went with babysitter to a 'T', which really, really, really, annoyed her. Through tight lips, she nodded, "Yes, I'm Megan. You aren't babysitting me."
"What?" Jacob said, blinking, and then he shook his head. "No, I'm from Johto. I just started traveling again, and I forgot that one of the most important tools of the trade is a map. You don't have one, do you?" He asked, already guessing that the answer was no, when the little girl with the old man interrupted things.
Amaya paused, and reached into her grey backpack. "Map...map...map...got it!" She withdrew a crumpled map of the region with a triumphant expression on her face. "D'you want to look at it? Right now we're in Twinleaf Town, which is in the southwest of Sinnoh. If you're looking to go to the lab, you need to take Route 201 east to Sangem Town. That's where I'm going with Megan, by the way," she chattered on, obliviously happy. It hadn't occured to her that talking to this man might be dangerous...
After all, Rocky always got her out of tight situations (like attacks from Blackthorn-area-native Pokemon) pretty easily, and his Dragonbreath wasn't something to laugh at.
Amaya then turned her brown eyes to Megan's grandfather. "So...um...should we get going? If Megan gets tired or something, she can always ride on Rocky."
Again, she was completely oblivious to Megan's utter dislike for her. Aside from having mood swings, being spacey, and a disgrace to her family, she also wasn't the most receptive girl on the block. Yet another fault for The Clan to add to the ever-growing list...
Megan's grandfather (He really needs a name...XD) grinned, "Well then, I'll let you youngsters go. You take good care of Megan, you hear? Don't want her mother hanging and quartering me..." Giving a hug to his granddaughter (completley oblivious of her glare towards him) he shambled off towards his home, since they just so happened to be in the same town as it.
Megan took a deep breath, managing to get her words out without strangling them. "I'll. Be. Fine." Could no one see she was perfectly able to take care of herself? Honestly, it was like some plot to put her in the middle of people who would constantly treat her like a poor little girl with no idea how to take care of herself.
It was like an army of her Mother...although she had to admit to a lesser degree. After all, her Mother would let her /walk/ to another town. That would be pure crazy-talk to Annie. Although reference to Rocky had her wondering, just what the thing was.
Although she would ride it, no matter what.
"We get going?" Jacob asked. It did make sense if they were all heading in the same direction, but: "Didn't your mothers ever tell you not to get involved with strange men?"
He wanted to be very clear about this. Their naive outlook on life was worrying, especially the teenaged girl. Were all girls her age that imbalanced? He couldn't recall, but he seemed to remember that the few girls he had known seemed sensible enough.
Amaya grinned at Jacob. "Yeah...Rocky doesn't like it when strange men fawn over me. Heh, once we were in Saffron City for a school trip, and there was a 'leaner' next to me on the train, you know? Well, Rocky heard me shout, and he burst out of his Pokeball like a knight in not-so-shiny-yet armor!" She grinned evilly. "Good thing he was still young, and not quite so big. Otherwise I think the train would have blown up, or something."
She enjoyed this, not letting them know what Rocky was. She could probably tell them he was her overprotective boyfriend - no wait, she told them he came from a Pokeball...and she didn't want to be known as a Pokephiliac, or something.
But whatever. Amaya just hoped that she came across as the sort of girl who'd have a boyfriend...being 14, she didn't have one yet, but she sort of wanted one...
Megan grumbled, "If we're going to go, we ought to go." Staring at the man, she pointedly didn't point out that the only reason she was involved with him at all was because her 'partner' was. "My mother told me not to get involved with men at all. Strange men I'm s'posed to let Nissan tie up with String shot and leave in a gutter somewhere. Know where a gutter is?"
Although she tried not to let out how much she wanted to know what Rocky was, it was beginning to eat her up. She was twelve (and a half!) after all, and curiosity practically ruled her life. What was it? Well, a pokemon obviously. She doubted she'd be riding on anything else that came out of a pokeball. And it had to be biggish, since she wasn't going to be riding a pidgey or anything.
What was it?
Amaya laughed at Megan's threat. How cute!...or something. She then walked over to Megan, and stared at her leg. "Um, so...do you want to walk, or would you like to ride Rocky? I don't want you getting hurt, or anything."
Shoot. Now she'd have to let him out...maybe he'd read her thoughts and come out all menacing-like, just so she could tease Jacob.
She peered back over her shoulder at the man, a puzzled expression on her face. "Hey...why are you here? You were on the bus with me...you said you were from Johto? You aren't...you couldn't be...you couldn't be a new trainer, could you?" The girl was positively aghast at the idea. An old man, taking part in a child-and-teenager's journey? Sure, it wasn't unheard of, or even really rare...but...
Amaya wanted to meet hot guys on her journey, not grizzled old men! And yes, low-thirties was "grizzled" to Amaya.
((Well, he does have gray hair ^^))
"Hardly new," Jacob said, trying to keep the bitterness out of his voice by concentrating on the fact that he had already told this girl why he was in Sinnoh. The kid seriously needed someone looking after her, she was so spacey. And she had been put in charge of a little girl? Probably not the best decision on the part of the parents. Hopefully her pokemon were more sensible than she was, and took care of her. "I'm just taking a crack at starting over for a while. Well, if we're going to start walking let's start."
He shouldered his duffle, and began to walk down the road.
"Done staring?" Megan didn't like the way this was planning out, she didn't like it at all. But then, she didn't really have a say in the matter did she? Sighing, she gave up (for the time being) and stopped fighting against the horrifying happy-bubblyness of her 'partner'. "I can walk just fine. I just can't run."
Although she would've found out what Rocky was if she had said she wanted to ride...But she didn't. Not really. Besides, what if Rocky was something scary? Megan didn't think she could handle it if it was a frightening pokemon, and she freaked out in front of Rain. That'd be...Just wrong. She could imagine the trip afterwards...
Ugh.
She eyed Rain curiously. What was wrong with him being a trainer? Not yet interested in dating, the idea of Jacob going on a journey was completley normal.
Amaya chirped as she realized Jacob had started walking, and Megan was talking to her. "Okay? You want to walk then? Well, um, let's go..."
She stumbled ahead of Megan for a little bit, trying to catch up with Jacob, then realized how rude it was to leave the younger girl behind. "Um, sir? If we're going to walk together, you really need to slow down. Megan wants to walk."
((Blergh, spam...I need to think a bit now...they're on the route...is there any need for them to visit the lake, or should they just be on their way to Sandgem Town? Maybe a battle or two with wild Pokemon on the way?))
Megan was already feeling guilty (although she would never admit to it) since everyone would have to slow down because of her. Which really sucked, especially since she was only a twelve (and a half!) year old girl. She hated having all that weight put on her shoulders.
Well, no matter. Nissan didn't mind, and in races with the Caterpie it was always a close deal. And Nissan didn't try and let her win...He was just slow. So at least she knew she wasn't slowing down one member of the party.
((Mmm...I dunno. But I has to get off now. So...Bye-byes for now, like, seriously.))
((Poor Jake, no pokemon to defend himself with ^^))
Jacob winced, realizing that it was indeed rude. He'd never traveled with anyone but his pokemon before, and then it was a matter of him keeping up. He shortened his stride, looking appologetic. "Sorry, sorry. What are your names, anyway, I didn't quite catch them?"
Amaya smiled. "I'm Ryuukawa Amaya...but call me Rain, or I might just have to kill you." She then pointed to the hobbling girl behind her. "This is Megan, and I think her caterpie's name is Nissan. I think. I could be wrong, though." "Rain" then peered back at Jakey-poo. "What was your name, again? Or did you not say it?"
Meanwhile, a chirping could be heard from the bushes. Amaya glanced over as a starly popped out, eyes focused on the girl. The bird then, with an angry squawk, zoomed forward towards the non-dragon-trainer.
She grinned, and grabbed a lone Pokeball from her belt. "Well, I guess I'll take care of this one. Rocky! Incoming!" She threw her Pokeball, and a large shining creature emerged. The white light bent in various shapes, softening to reveal a large snake made of boulders. The onix roared, halting the starly for a moment, if only because of the creature's large size. "Rocky! Let's take care of the bird with Rock Throw!"
The onix roared again, slamming his tail (or, rather, the end part of his body) down on the ground. A few boulders dislodged themselves from the ground, flew up into the air, and fell down on the starly.
Needless to say, the bird did not remain conscious.
The trainer grinned at her Pokemon. "Nice," she congratulated, slapping her hand against his tail in a high-five of sorts. "One hit knockout. We're gonna own the first bit of Sinnoh, huh?"
Rocky responded with a happy roar as he lifted the starly's limp body out of the rocks, and off the road. No sense in letting another trainer get a freebie.
Megan nodded, "Yes, his name is Nissan." She 'eeped' as the bird pokemon appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, and headed in for an attack. Her 'eep' turned into a 'squeek' when Rain released the onix.
Mew above and below, that thing was BIG! Megan had never seen anything bigger than a nidorino, and that hadn't been a welcome experience (It'd been uprooting everything in the garden, and it wasn't until their neighbors could bring over his persian to get rid of it), and the next closest thing were beedrill. None of them were as big as the onix. She didn't even know they could be that big.
Well, she knew pokemon were big-Who hadn't seen them on tv? But to actually see one...Well, it was a new experience. Faintly, she smiled. "So...That's...Rocky..."
Amaya - to be forever known as Rain - grinned. "Yep, this is Rocky. Say hi, Rocky...this is Megan, and her Caterpie, Nissan."
The gigantic rock snake growled a greeting, nuzzling his stone head against Rain's palm. He was happy to be let out...Rain didn't want him out in the boat or the bus, for obvious reasons, so it was nice to finally stretch his...body.
He growled again at the man. An old man? What was he doing near his Rain?
The girl noticed his low rumble, and looked toward Jacob. "Oh, that's...well, he still hasn't said his name, but he's going with us to Sandgem Town since he doesn't have a map." She grinned at her Pokemon. "You have full permission to roast him if he puts any moves on me or Megan. Oh yeah! Megan's that girl I forgot I had to travel with," the teenager chattered, leaning against her Pokemon. "So if she can't walk, you need to let her ride on you."
The snake nodded, just happy to be outside. And having Rain leaning on him...he liked it when he felt Rain's body next to his. It reminded him that she was there...his Rain...
