The heavy little turtle let go as Flare began to pull. She didn't mind the warmth of the chimchar's little body, but it made her worry. And since Rain was trying to kick her off when she let go, A'Tuin went flying backward, onto Flare.
Jacob sighed, and bent down to pick up his turtwig. Once she was back on her feet, and off the fire monkey, he gave Flare a hand up. "Sorry about that, Rain," he said, looking embarrassed. "I should have been watching more closely. Are you all right, Flare? That tumble didn't look so nice."
He always tried to talk to pokemon. They responded better to trainers that talked to them. Only an idiot would walk around with a powerful pokemon like a dragon type or a fire type, and never talk to it. (Sorry, just had to get that out there. Not that there's anyone on Jenta who does this. No. Of course not.)
A'Tuin made a face at Jacob. He didn't ask her if she was all right, now did he? Nooooo. Of course, she had rather started it, but still it was unfair. She frowned then at Flare. "Wait until I evolve," she told the fire type. "Then we'll see who's better."

((Of course there's noone on Jenta who does that. Especially nobody who never memorizes their type chart (even the OBVIOUS matchups), never uses support attacks, never uses terrain to their advantage, and never whines about me not updating their topics when. They. Don't. Deserve. It. At least some of them just let me RP their Pokemon, since they have trouble with all the Pokemon characters. I'm fine with that, since then they can INTERACT.)) Flare made a happy chittering sound toward Jacob, signalling that she was okay. Brushing herself off and inadvertantly ignoring A'Tuin, she walked over to Rain...who was ignoring her...on purpose. After the girl checked her shoe, she glanced at the town. "Well, there's not much to do here...and Rocky isn't tired, or anything. Those battles on the route were more excersize than anything. So how about we just leave? This town is kinda boring." ((Either Lee or Mori...just have your trainers move to Route 202 after they say "yeah, sure" or whatever. Then...let's start the plot off with a GRUNT! All NPCs are open to anybody...))

((I guess my character will jump to route 202 then...Although I have no clue what it looks like. Haha. I'll let one of you guys do the first grunt. XD))
Megan nodded, scratching Nissan's head as he began to doze off again. "Okay." Coax was the only starter pokemon in his pokeball, but Megan still didn't feel ready to try and talk to him again. Maybe when they stopped for the night...Surely Nissan could take care of the battles for that long?
Still, Megan knew she was being a baby. It wasn't like Coax was going to eat her or anything. Well...She decided to stop that train of thought before she did get too scared to release the Piplup again.
She began to walk foward, temporarily thinking about how wonderful it would be if she had a pokemon that could carry her occasionally. There was Rocky, after all, but he was Rain's pokemon. And Rain was...scary... right now, which made Megan a bit hesitant to ask. And she wasn't tired yet. They'd just been standing there for a good amount of time, after all, but Megan knew she would be by lunch. Anyone would be, after moving around on crutches for an entire morning.

A'tuin followed after Jacob, who nodded easily at Rain. She was acting rather -- pushy -- all of a sudden, but she was just a little weird in general. Probably had massive emotional problems, or something. Not like he was one to pry, of course.
"Turt!"
Jacob's eyes swiveled behind him, and then the rest of his body swiveled after them, so they wouldn't be so lonely. A'Tuin was struggling to keep up on her short legs, and Megan was even further behind. Rain hadn't even BEGUN to walk. He sighed, and waited for A'Tuin to catch up. The one disadvantage he had forgotten to factor in was lack of speed in his starter. And his travel companions.
He continued onto Route 202 blushing, and muttering something about A"t least eevee were quick." However, he tried to modulate his steps so that he came to a halt quickly enough for either A'Tuin or Megan to keep up, as they were arguably the slowest in the party, when Rain had her butt in gear that was...

((Only a couple more days until you two know what the heck I'm talkin' about. XP ))
Rain groaned, looking down at her shoe. There was a large hole along the side of it, and you could see her white sock. Luckily, her shoe still functioned alright, but still...it looked weird, and the inside part of her left foot was cold.
"Chaaaa?" Flare asked, grabbing Rain's pant leg. They would have to hurry to catch up with the others - they were already on Route 202!
The teenager yanked her leg away, and started to stomp off toward the edge of the town. "Mew, Flare, I KNOW, okay?" Hearing Flare scamper up beside her, Rain turned her heavy walking into a jog. Flare sped up as well, and soon enough, both Rain and Flare were sprinting up to Jacob.
The "dragon-trainer" stopped with a huff near Jacob. "Hey...I...caught up...to you..." she wheezed, needing to catch her breath. Her monkey's breaths sounded lighter, as if the sprint was much easier to her, and that made Rain a little annoyed.
((Blergh. Spam post...>_<;; The Pokemon on this route, by the way, are: Starly and Bidoof (common), Shinx (more uncommon), and Kricketot (pretty rare...you don't see them in the day, just the evening, night, and morning, and they're STILL rare). There might be others, but I didn't see any, so I don't think so.))

((I know. I get both games on Sunday. Whee. ^^))
Megan blinked as Rain and Flare both made it past her, wondering what the big hurry was. It wasn't like it was a race, was it? Well, no matter. If they started griping about her speed (it wasn't uncommon, and was the reason she only had two friends who were patient enough to play with her), she could always point out that they didn't have to travel with her. It wasn't like someone was spying on Rain, after all, making sure she 'kept an eye' on Megan.
She didn't need a babysitter anyways. Nissan would be good enough protection, since string shot was greatly underestimated. And there was always Coax, even if he was a bit creepy.
"Umm...Not to sound stupid or anything, but where are we headed?" She didn't even know the second town they were going to get to...Or city. Was it a city? She doubted it. For some odd reason she couldn't fathom, most regions had small cities at the beginning of adventures. Since most regions had a lab where starters were handed out, and all.

Rain paused, looking behind her. "Ummm...I know its Japanese name is Kotobuki City, but I dunno the English. The guidebook I got was all in Japanese."

"Weren't you the one I got my map from?" Jacob asked slowly, wondering why he hadn't noticed that all the places were in Japanese. Well, the map had used romanji, instead of the characters, but still was he really that thick?
"Turt. Turt twig," A'Tuin said flatly, the translation: "Yes. Yes, you are," only too clear.
"Well that doesn't matt--" Jacob began trying to find a bright side, when a feathered blur burst from the grass of the route.
"A'Tuin, withdraw!"
The small bird cannoned off the turtwig's shell, and then looked around, glaring, before trying the insane "I'm a starly, so bow before my power" tackle again.
((Blerg, spamishness. I don't even know if starly learns tackle.. Too lazy for psypoke...))

((...-Wahahahaha. I dun remember. -hugs her Staraptor- XD Mmm. I don't remember the plot, all of the way. But I can bring in a grunt. She's going to wear pink, no matter what. Even if it is against dress code. Since most teams seem to have one. Heh...))
Megan squeaked as the feathered 'monster' appeared out of nowhere, Nissan disapearing into her backpack. He'd learned quite early that if you had the unfortuante case to be sitting on someone's shoulder, wild pokemon seemed to aim for you. He didn't know /why/ wild pokemon detested trainer-caught ones, but that was besides the point. He didn't feel like having a bird eat him. He had no wish to die. Yet.
Megan stared at the little bird. Where had it come from? Surely wild pokemon didn't just attack you for no reason...Did they? She couldn't remember, not a single word about it in her brother's letters that he'd sent home. She wondered why.
--Enter the Pink--
It was really kind of hard to miss the amazing amount of pink sitting in the classical location of the branches of one of the trees. Really, really, hard. Pink hat (Like a squished top hat), pink jacket and a pink skirt. With pink boots. And a pink bag. And the single pokeball had been colored pink with a marker-or maybe the red had simply been bleached.
Whatever the case. It was an awful lot of (fashionally-horrid) pink. Even her hair was pink. No doubt, if she had had need of contacts, they would have been pink, but she didn't need them.
She was busy watching the three starting trainers (although that certaintly was an older man. Whatever was he doing traveling with two young girls?), considering possible uses for them. Or if they might be a threat.
((--...I can't do anymore until I know what the plot is. Heh. I shouldn't have forgotten it...I remember parts of it, but not all of it.
Anyways, Research Girl has come up with the following information.
Starly knows tackle and growl at level one, learns quick attack at five, and wing attack at nine. She figures you don't need to know any more, since you probably won't even have a level nine starly attacking you right now.))

((So I have learned from Shreik, my starly. She ish my only normal sane pokie in the game... Disc, My turtwig is Rash and "likes to attack things," and Piper my kriketune is Naughty and "vain" >.< I won't get into the others. Pounce the shinx has the personality of a brainwashed ant...))
The starly hit the hard shell for the second time as Jacob yelled out instructions.
"A'Tuin, out of the withdraw now!"
The turtle's head poked out as the starly rebounded, fluttering madly.
"Tackle before he manages to get back his bearings!"
The turtwig, slow as the turtle was backed up a bit, and then charged at the starly. She slammed into it, and stampeded over the bird pokemon, before swinging around for a second run at Jacob's encouragement.
"That's it, that's it! Take control of the battle, it can stay up against your endurance."
The thrid pass was wide. A'Tuin was not built for speed, and despite Jacob's claims of endurance she was tiring. The starly, dazed and disoriented on the ground looked up blearily and chipped what might have been a growl. However, A'Tuin had managed to turn at this time, and she came down on the bird like a ton of bison. The starly didn't get back up after the third run, as A'Tuin plodded over to Jacob's side, and breathed out tiredly.

((Alright, so here's what I have for the plot:
A group of people want to bring back the fossilized/prehistoric Pokemon on a mass scale. They've been collecting Sinnoh fossils in the Underground (they can find a lot there), as well as bringing in as many of the Kanto and Hoenn fossils as they can (and relicanth, since those are uberly convenient). They probably have a lab somewhere where they can resurrect them...however, sometimes, they need a host. So they put "fossil" characteristics into normal Pokemon, turnin' 'em into hybrids or something (I don't know about this one - I didn't think it up, but one of you suggested it).
However, their methods of testing and fossil-related excavation are pretty controversial...they've been destroying the land to get the fossils, and a rather sizeable number of them die off during testing. They've decided to go underground - so to speak - in order to continue with their goal - resurrecting all of the prehistoric Pokemon, replacing the current Pokemon with them (the prehistoric ones, once brought back, are generally more powerful and can be easily made into hyper-loyal warriors), and taking over the gym system of Sinnoh. With what, you ask?
In every area, there are always fluke Pokemon labeled "legendaries". This was no different millions of years ago. There were a few legendaries with fossil evidence (it isn't known how many), and these people want to bring them back. Once brought back, they could catch them, and use them for whatever (like revenge on their opposition in the Elite 4 and gym curcuit).
...Howzat sound? It's mostly off-the-top-of-my-head. I figure we could have our characters stumble onto them, maybe pick up a few of their "human" spies, and...fight...them...-_-))

Jacob smiled down at A'Tuin and bent to stroke her shell. She strutted out from under his hand, looking very smug, however. Looking at the other pokemon she made a sort of remark along the lines of "Bet you couldn't do as well as I did."
However she didn't get anymore time to praise herself as the grass rustled, and two bidoof exploded from the undergrowth to slam into the grass type. Jacob smiled a little at the feisty display of karma, but that didn't stop him from ordering his turtwig: "Withdraw!"

((Gonna just try posting a few characters...just for fun, the Team of Six is all comprised of AU versions of minor characters I'd use if I wrote my hybrid high school fic...^_^;; I'm using their English first names for this one...say hi to Jaclyn (AU Hamako's older sis, by the way), Trish, Alice, Jeremy, Kevin, and Steven. By the way...these are all "based off of" people I know in real life. )) Rain raised an eyebrow while she watched Jacob fight the bidoof. He's okay, I guess...but Rocky's waaay better trained than A'Tuin, she thought, glancing around. She had long since let out Rocky and Flare (actually, Flare let herself out), so she needed to train... A starly zoomed by, landing neatly on the ground in front of the team. Rain grinned, and turned to her onix. "Ready Rocky? Dragonbreath!" The rock snake roared, lunging forward with the fire brimming in his mouth. The bird looked a bit startled, and took to the air as it tried to Tackle Rocky. Needless to say, it was roasted long before it hit the rock head, and fell to the ground. Much to Rain's dismay, it got up, though it wobbled more than it normally would have. "Dragonbreath again!" Rain ordered, crossing her arms. That weak little bird should have gone down in a second to Rocky's Dragonbreath... Flare glanced around, and then hopped up to Rain. Tugging on her pants, she chittered a question. She wanted to know if she should search out a bidoof (or something) to train against, too. This ellicited a glare and a hand wave indicating that Rain really didn't care. The chimchar frowned. Maybe her trainer was too caught up in the current battle...then she realized something! She could make Rain happy by winning a battle on her own! Grinning, the monkey hopped up to the tall grass, waiting for a bidoof to ambush her. Rain rolled her eyes, and ordered Rocky to do another Dragonbreath on the annoying bird. Currently, the starly had avoided most of Rocky's fire by simply flying out of the way...and although its Tackle's barely scratched Rocky's surface, it was still very vexing. --- Somewhere else: --- A teenager sighed, glancing down at her feet. They'd been walking all day! "Haven't we found the stupid thing?" she whined, looking around Oreburgh City wearily. Next to her, a tiny little black-haired girl looked apologetic. "Sorry, Jaclyn. Um...we probably took a wrong turn? "Oh please, Trish," a platinum-blonde boy mumbled, brushing off his shirt. "We just need to walk a bit more." "Steven's right," another trainer added, this time a spiky black-haired boy with violent brown eyes. He grinned mischeviously. "We're just surrounded by too many idiots to make a dent in our assignment." A pink-haired girl sporting a Ringtown Ranger Station jacket smacked the boy on the head. "Shut up, Jeremy." Finally, a sandy-haired tall boy poked the ranger girl and looked up. "Oi, Alice...I think...we're here." Alice raised a pink eyebrow. "Nice observation, Kevin," she muttered sarcastically. The Team of Six looked at the building - the Oreburgh Museum. Jaclyn smiled, taking out three Pokeballs. She glanced at them, then put two back. The third dropped to the ground, allowing an aerodactyl to appear. She looked back at the other five trainers with a smirk as the ancient flying dinosaur latched onto her shoulders. "See ya in a bit!" Jaclyn chirped, then looked up at her aerodactyl. "Take me up, Czar," she ordered, and he nodded. Soon, both were zooming up to the top of the museum... ((Alright, I'm lazy, so I'll put up more information later. Basically: let's get to Jubilife pretty soon. We can use timeskips - I'd LIKE this to get past the first few cities. You can keep battles within one post if they're supposed to be quick, or whatever. I'd say the first real conflict will happen in Oreburgh, since the leader of the gym has a fossily Pokeymanz, and it's got the museum and coal mine and is just COOL. So nya. :3 ))

((Yays. ...-is a horrible plot leader-
Heyhey. Mind if Pink Girl jumps in to the battle? Like...her Shieldon could help out with one of the bidoof's. Then she can try and tempt you to join, and then, when refused (since I assume we will be refusing...) she can try and (since all grunts have a large ego) beat all three with her Shieldon of d00m. And lose.))
Megan had no clue whether she was supposed to be battling or not, but Bidoof were just...goofy looking in her opinion, and she wasn't so certain she even wanted to get near one. Starly looked pretty tough, actually as she watched one take on Rocky, but that would require using Coax since Nissan wasn't going against any bird (he was still hiding behind her hair), and Coax scared her.
However, she really didn't have a choice. When a starly just sort of appears out of nowhere and tries to pull hair out for some obscure reason, you had to defend yourself. It was awkward waving a hand to keep the bird away, and releasing Coax from his pokeball, but eventually it was achieved.
Blank-faced Coax stared at Megan, until she actually asked for an attack. "Come on Coax, get it with a tackle!"
Which was really kind of funny, since Coax was nowhere near tall enough to get the flying starly. So he just stood there, although a bit of personality showed through as he raised an eyebrow at her.
"Fine! Nissaaaaaan! C'mon, it doesn't know any bird moves! Get it with a string shot for Coax would you? So it won't fly?" Nissan peered around her shoulder, spitting out the sticky fluid in an expertly aimed shot (He rarely ever tackled anything, since getting it sticky and unable to chase him as he escaped was so much easier), binding one of the wings to the starly's side.
"Okay, now tackle it, before it unstick's its wing!" To her relief, Coax actually did follow through with the command, as the starly tried to tug its wing away from its side, and thus getting caught unaware and toppling over backwards. Its wing did come unstuck though, and it took to the air again, pieces of string dangling from the feathers. Thankfully, Megan noticed it was concentrating on Coax-its last attacker-now and not her.
Unfortunately, it retaliated with a tackle that sent Coax toppling head over heels. Coax finally made some noise, squeaking in surprise.
Megan frowned. This was harder than she had thought it would be.

((Sure...sounds good. Don't have the girl of pink say much about their motives, though... Foreshadowing much? >:3 -- WE WINZORZ! -- We finish up with a couple posts on the route (if ya two wanna catch a bidoof, kricketot, shinx, or starly, now would be a good time) -- Then we go to ZOMG JUBILIFE CITY! -- Then we do stuff...I'm assuming healing and/or spending a night there is in our plans -- Then we go on the route to Oreburgh -- We do stuffs on that route (training?) -- Then we get to Oreburgh! -- Then maybe we encounter the Team of Six? I'm assuming they won't be the ONLY grunts (other than Pink Girl, o' course), but maybe they're like...grunt leaders? Specialized grunts? -- Then some stuff happens... -- Then we get to challenge the OMGZING FIRST GYMZ!!!!!1! (This actually has to happen, at least for Rain, since I got a little plot point that really only affects her team involved with this...) -- Then we move on...-_- Anyway, here are the tentative teams for the Team of Six, since I need to remember...I'm adapting these from the original teams they had, but I'd never written them down...it was perfectly easy for somebody like Jaclyn or Alice, who only had one Pokemon; or the boy who had the Castform-Kecleon-Ditto team (didn't actually assign it to one), since it had a theme...but like...Trish...they're hard. ^_^;;;;;; But it's good for me to write them down so I DON'T FORGET! GRAAAAAAAARGH! D:< OH! And if you're like me and can't remember the DP fossils, here are the fossil Pokeymanz from all the games. ANY of these are okay for the members! Remember...ALL members must either have a fossil Pokemon, a fossil-like Pokemon, or a fossil on them at any time. The Sinnoh fossils are generally given to new recruits (especially Pokemon-less ones), but sometimes (SOMETIMES) they will get them from elsewhere. OMGZING FOSSILZ!- Kabuto - Kabutops - Omanyte - Omastar - Aerodactyl - Lileep - Cradily - Anorith - Armaldo - Cranidos - Rampardos - Shieldon - Bastiodon OMGZING NON-FOSSILZ THAT STILL COUNTZORZ!- Relicanth - (...anything else? -_-) Edit: asked Ruin in the C-Box what other Pokemon could count (I also randomly came up with natu, baltoy, and unown). Her response: Ruin: Well, cultures have been using dragons in mythology for thousands of years, and there are a couple of dinosaur-like pokemon in the 4th Generation that aren't fossil ...So...we have...ummmm...landshark dragons, anyone? -_-;; (By the way, all the teams below this line are subject to change at any given moment.) Jaclyn - Sentret (Furret yet? DUNNOS!) (old) (m? I forgot) - Cranidos (m) (new) (might cut this one from her team...nevermind, she just usually lets Alice use him, but technically she owns him) - Aerodactyl (m) (new) (Czar) (when she joined, she realized she wanted a flying Pokemon, so she spent all her money trying to find a proper piece of old amber to revive ) Alice - Jolteon (m) (old) - Cranidos (m) (new) (JUST DECIDED! Jaclyn lends her Cranidos so she can satisfy the "all personnel must have a fossil" rule...Alice was a ranger, so she doesn't like having more than one permanent Pokemon) Trish - Blaziken (m) (old - he was her starter) - Dusclops (m) (old - he was another that can never go!) - Shiftry (m) (old...I think) - Crawdaunt (m) (...need to decide) - Aggron (m) (old - but not...I couldn't remember her definite team!) - Armaldo (m) (new/sorta - she needed a fossil, it had to be from Hoenn, and I couldn't remember the rest of her team!) Jeremy - Cranidos (f) (new) (he joined to get a Pokemon ^_^) Steven (he's the "rebel" ) - Relicanth (Rika) (f) ("old"...somebody had to have one! For land battles, he usually holds back or commands somebody else's...thoough Rika can battle on land sort of okay...) Kevin - Castform (f) (old - giving Kevin the not-static-save-one team!) - Ditto (old) - Kecleon (f) (old) - Shieldon (new...one of the "recruit and get a free Shieldon/Cranidos" people) ...Mrrrnya. ^_^ OMG THE ACTUAL RP POST IS BEGINNING! SHUT UP AND LISTEN!)) A short ways away from Megan's battle, the rather annoying starly fighting Rain had failed to go down. "Dragonbreath again!" Rain ordered, balling her fists up in frustration. The bird tilted to the left, letting the wind take him away from the blazing orange fire, much to Rocky's dismay. Maybe he had let his accuracy go from a lack of training...these new Sinnoh Pokemon were nothing like the wild ones he'd faced around Blackthorn City! (In fact, he usually lost to those...) The starly cheeped angrily, dive-bombing Rocky for another Tackle. Before Rain could respond, the irate onix took a deep breath, shooting his mouth forward as the bird soared back up again. Rocking his center of balance back along his tail, he propelled his head up as he let loose another stream of flames. This brought him to a closer proximity... And the bird barely had time to utter a surprised cheep before it fell, singed, to the ground. Rocky roared happily (though he was breathing hard), and turned to Rain. She grinned. "Hey, you turned it around!" The onix gave her a look, causing the girl to laugh. "No, I wasn't saying you were doing badly...but that bird was annoying." She eyed the unconscious thing, prodding it with her sneaker. "I was gonna catch it for transportation or something...but I dunno. Do you think we should allow such an annoyingly arrogant starly on our future-prize-winning 'team of dragons'?" The "dragon trainer" grinned, elbowing her Pokemon. "Cuz you know we're totally catching a team of dragons." Rocky snorted, using his tail to push the unconscious bird off the main path. He honestly couldn't see himself getting along with that thing in the future anyway, and if Rain didn't want him... No starly for them today! Meanwhile, Flare had found herself a bidoof - asleep, but still a bidoof. She chittered happily, clapping her hands. Finally, something to train against! Running up to it, she brought back one of her paws, flexing her claws outward. Once she was up against it, she slashed down on the bidoof's face. It rolled over, no longer asleep, but unconscious. Flare cheered for herself. She won her first battle - a one-hit-knock-out, even! (Nevermind that it was asleep and that killed its defenses...she won! Yay for Flare!) (( Too bad, the RP post ended...now for some more OOC comments, courtesy of your "Totalitarian dictator".Edit: Oh yar...and we're at 57 replies now to this thread! ^_^;; Hopefully its update-frequency will go up once we get to summer vacation from school... ((Right...))
A'Tuin tumbled head over shell as the fifth bidoof slammed his porky body into her. She rose to her reptilian legs, snapping her beaky mouth in annoyance. She was tired of these returning little hampsters. She'd finally fainted the first couple, but they had brought friends, and --
Her head shifted as she felt vibrations in the ground run up her stocky legs, and heard rustling in the grass. Her green relations parted to reveal that her foe had called in more back up. Yay, let the record state extreme sarcasm, she thought before charging into her old assailant with her patented tackle attack.
"Go in from the right!" Jacob yelled, forcing the turtle pokemon to change direction in the middled of her charge. Gee, thanks, as if she wasn't slow enough.
Her blocky head caught the bidoof in the side. The smack of the solid impact knocked the bidoof off his feet, and sent him rolling into the reinforcements. A'Tuin planted herself on the road breathing in heavy gasps, but looking amazed at her victory.
Jacob winked, even as the newest bidoof struggled out from under her fallen comrade, and glared at A'Tuin. The fuzzy little pokemon ran at the turtwig, as A'Tuin stayed still, feeling too tired to move. With her feet planted on the ground she looked at the on coming bidoof with a scowl. The Normal type hit A'Tuin's shell and rebounded. The mammal fought to rise from the ground, but the ground itself glowed green underneath her tiny paws. The bidoof wobbled, and sat down suddenly, looking haggared and aged, even as A'Tuin appeared to perk up, the twin leaves on her head becoming greener and less yellowy.
"That's an absorb attack," Jacob grinned happily. "All right, A'Tuin, take her down with another one!"
Again the ground glowed green under the two contenders, and the bidoof fell ober, looking underfed and anorexic. A'Tuin wiggled her head twig, and Jacob looked around to see if any of the girls need his help, now that he had some breathing space. Obviously the two must be beset since they had been unable to help him with the two bidoof that had attacked him at the same time. Double battles with no double weren't his idea of a good time.

((Sounds good too me. I'll wait for one of you guys to bring in the Bidoof of death. -grins-))
How were you supposed to fight something that flew? She guessed if Coax had knew something like...like water gun, it would have been easier. The fact that he didn't, didn't make things very easy. Maybe piplup's could jump? Coax looked pretty awkward on land, but who knew. Maybe he was very acrobatic. "Alright Coax, try another tackle-jump to reach the starly!"
Nissan snickered behind her hair, peering out. Flying penguins should be pretty interesting to watch. He ended up looking around though, noticing that one of the battles (against an army of bidoof) was over, with the apparent victory of a proud new turtwig who knew absorb. Good thing he was on Megan's side, Nissan doubted that the new trainer even knew type match ups. Except for the fact that bug was not good against bird. He pitied Coax, almost.
Coax stared at Megan in a manner that almost resembled "Are you serious?", but he did indeed attempt a flying tackle. It ended up with him face-first in the dirt and the starly laughing so hard he ended up landing to avoid falling out of the air. Which was fine by both piplup and trainer (although Megan was quite embarrassed that her bright idea had failed so grandly), and Megan asked for yet another tackle. This one actually connected, albeit head on with the tackle the starly had begun, flying low to the ground. Both pokemon fell backwards, and neither got up.
It looked like a draw. Megan crept over to the starly and toed it out of the path, before picking up Coax. She did feel bad-he probably wouldn't have fainted if he'd had a better trainer-but she couldn't feel too bad. Even dizzy as he was he was still staring at her blankly. Creepy.
