((Yayz for the level 13 Hera. Negh...another wild Pokemon, coming right up. I dunno how I can beat a shiny Nidoran, though. -_-;; )) Suddenly (though not surprisingly), a lotad appeared, and struck as threatening a pose as a duck-billed lilypad could strike. ((Aaaaand I just broke an RPing rule. Oh well...I'm a mod...I guess I'm exempt. *brick'd for abuse of power* ))

"Umm, hi," Rain says, looking at the Lotad.

"<I challenge you!>" She squeaked in a high-pitched voice from many feet below Rain's head. Confident, yes, but not with much common sense was the little lotad.
((w007! That's three sentences! The Jenta Police can't kill me anymore! X3 ))

"Okay, go Lynn!" Rain says, letting out her Lombre. "Lets start with Astonish!"
(The Ruin is bored.)

Lotad froze up for a minute, unable to attack.
A faint splashing could be heard in the background.
((So am I. -_-;;; ))

The Lotad was knocked back, then ran forward to use her own Astonish attack. She opened her mouth as she lunged into the air (albeit not very far), aiming to bite down and cost her opponent a turn.
The splashing continued faintly through the mist.

The Astonish hits its mark, and Lynn freezes up for that turn.

The Lotad then lowered her head, and lunged for the larger Pokemon's stomach again (not like she could get herself any higher). This time, she would aim to do more with the bite than just paralyze Lynn for the turn - she was going to steal some of Lynn's health.

The younger Pokemon was knocked off, though the Astonish damage didn't even begin to cover the health she had stolen. However, she froze up, and couldn't attack.
((Bleeehhhh...Writer's Block!))

((Eh, it's been about ten posts, and it wasn't a strong lotad. *shrug* ))
The lotad, who was thrown into a maelstrom of mud, water, dirt, and marsh reeds, finally keeled over, unconscious.
Rain's Pokedex beeped. "Your level 18 lombre just defeated a level 15 lotad, giving her half a level, and bringing her up to level 18 1/2."

((Another random wild Pokemon...graaagh, do you just want to go to the lake soon? I need Hera to be level 17 though. >_<;;;;
On the other hand, Hera probably wouldn't be able to do much in the gym because of her type weakness other than maybe take out one of Matthew's rock-types, so maybe I should just let you catch another high-ish level water-type to use? Or if you trained that krabby, you wouldn't need Hera...))
All of a sudden, a venonant appeared and squeaked an "<I challenge you to a battle!>"

((I am feeling very nice for some reason...))
The venonat was so shocked that it fell in an awkward position and knocked itself out. A yanma then swooped down and carried it off.
Rain's Pokedex indicated that Lynn had defeated a venonat of an unknown level, and received however many levels it took to bring her to level 20. So there...one Pokemon was done.
((Eh...because of the huge difference between Hera and Lynn...I'm just going to let you on to the lake in five posts no matter what levels they all are. Maybe I'll give you a high-level water-type for the gym. ^_^;; ))
