William walked into the Sapphire city and looked around as he tried to find where he was going, it was a new city and as such, he was unable to find the Pokemon center in the city which was rather large for him.

A little boy walking home from school stopped, looking at William. "If you're looking for the Pokemon Center...just go straight 'til you see the department store, go left for three blocks, then turn right. Ya should see it then..."
It was always painfully obvious when a new foreign trainer (especially one who didn't know cities) came through, so the little boy was used to giving out directions to the Pokemon Center, the gym, and the PokeMart.

William only nodded his head. "Thank you." He didn't like being lost, but wearing a lab coat makes him think that he is a scieintist in some ways and as such, he is able to be allowed to be confused due to him trying to understand the world around him.
He followed the boys words to the T. Soon he was indeed standing in front of the Pokemon Center. Lily, sitting on his head with Wynn on his right shoulder only smirked. Because they had passed it when they entered the city, but they felt it would be fun to see how observant their trainer was in areas other then science.

Once inside, Junko the nurse looked up from her magazine. Quickly shoving it back under the counter, she put on a smile. "Welcome to Sapphire City! May I heal your Pokemon for you?"

William smiled and handed over all but one Pokeball onto the tray. "Yes please, I would like that a lot." So... where is the Gym Leader located? Along with the Poke Mart?" He was wondering what was going to happen to him. He was rather interested in not getting a Gym Badge but, he wanted to explore the world around him, and learn it's secrets of the world.

Junko took the Pokeballs, and ran them all through the machine. "Routine healing...nothing too bad on any of 'em. It says here that your...espeon? has a medical condition, but it hasn't gotten worse. The Mart is down the street, and if you want to go to the gym, go down one block in the opposite direction of the Mart, turn left, go two blocks, turn right, then go straight. You should see it...it has a sign." She then scanned the computer. "So this is your first Jenta badge, huh? Well, if you need advice...Arisa fights double battles. She always sends her lapras and seel out first, so I'd put your pichu as one of your lead Pokemon. Her jynx may be tough...so you may want your mankey to go out with your pichu as your other lead, so you can put his energy into beating Pokemon who won't cause as much damage to him. I'd put your wooper as your anchor - she has good stats overall, and can probably handle psychic attacks."
Junko then handed William's Pokeballs back. "But that's just my advice."

William smiled. "Thank you for your advice, It will come in handy I am sure."
He then turned around and pocketing his team walked out of the Center and headed right to the Gym.
Okay... let's see if I remember the directions. He remembered them once again, showing that he was real good at remembering directions and steps.
"Okay, so... Wynn and Edison first... with Lilly as an anchor if I run into trouble." He liked the plan a lot.

Arisa yawned, mumbling as she filled out another piece of paperwork (one of the horrible things about being a gym leader - paperwork, as she learned the hard way). Then, her savior gym challenger came through the door...adding to the paperwork, but still giving her a reprieve!
She looked up at him, dazed. "So...challenger, right? Can I see your trainer card?"

William looked at the Gym Leader. "Okay, I am William Hamlet... and here is my Trainer Card like you ask." he had taken out his wallet and then removed his trainer card and handed it over. "I hope everything is in order."

Arisa nodded, swiped the card in the computer, tapped a few things out on the keyboard, then handed the card back. "Yeah...okay, William Hamlet, follow me."
She then grabbed her pink parka, and went into the arena room. She was met by a middle-aged man, this time in a blue parka, who held two flags. Arisa moved to her side of the battlefield, leaving the man to explain the rules from his post in the middle.
"This will be a three-on-three double battle between Challenger William Hamlet and Gym Leader Arisa for the Freeze Badge. The first person to lose all three Pokemon is the loser. Items are allowed in moderation, and the use of an item takes one turn. The challenger may switch Pokemon at any time, but the gym leader may not. A switch takes up one turn. The gym leader sends out first, but the challenger attacks first. Any questions?" The man looked at William as he held up his two flags. The green one pointed towards William, and the blue one towards Arisa.
Arisa shrugged, and sent out two Pokemon. A seel and a lapras appeared on her side of the battlefield, about halfway between Arisa and the pool in the center. The lapras slid a bit, testing the ice, while the seel just looked at William.
"<I hope he has a fire type,>" Lees, the seel, muttered. "<They're fun to beat.>"

William Hamlet took up his side of the gym floor, and took two Pokeballs from his belt. "Come on out Wynn, and Edison." He shouted, throwing the Two Pokemon, showing a Pichu, and then a Mankey.
"Okay, Wynn, Charm let's go... Edison, Scratch upon the Seel NOW!" he had seen a few Pokemon Trainer movies so he was somewhat dramatic, but at the same time, showing that maybe Pokemon Training was a secondary field for him. Seeing that he was still wearing a Lab coat.

Wynn's Charm seemed to direct itself at Pras. She frowned, feeling a bit less aggressive. Aw...but that li'l pichu was just so cute! So she paused, a little unsure of what to do.
Meanwhile, Lees had a bit more trouble, seeing as there was a mankey going for his face. With claws. That hurt.
"Water Gun and Surf!" Arisa commanded, eyeing the pool. Well, the water would make the floor more slippery...
"<Right,>" Lees growled, opening his mouth and blasting a jet of water at Edison. Meanwhile, Pras was having some misgivings about hurting the cute little mousy, so when she slapped the ground, bringing forth a huge wave...she made the brunt of it go a little bit left of Wynn.
((Right. So keep in mind the pool might be useful if it ever gets to be Lily VS Xi-Xi. Also...water...what can go through water?
And fighting-type attacks are effective against ice-types...remember that...))

"Okay.... Wynn, Charm at the Seel, and Edison, let's try a Scratch attack upon the Lapras."
William shouted after grinding his teeth as both Pokemon got hit by their respective opponite attacks. HE knew that would be slower and a little more hurt then before but it was the beginning of the battle, and he was planning on trying to win this.
Edison jumped around and then charged at the Lapras.
Wynn only looked too cute for his good at the Seel.

"'Pras, lean a bit to the left! Then Water Gun!" Arisa ordered, crossing her arms.
Lapras edged herself a bit left, allowing Edison's claws to slash at her hard shell, minimizing the damage. She then opened her mouth, and shot a jet of water at the nearby mankey.
Meanwhile, Seel was trying very hard not too look at the adorable little Wynn. So instead of attacking the cute little mouse, he decided to simply use his turn by Growling (and while Arisa was busy with his teammate - that way, she wouldn't order him to attack). He growled a bit, reducing the foes' attack stats.
Arisa rolled her eyes. "Get it together, Lees."
"<But he's cute!>" Seel whined when he finished his attack.
His trainer sighed in disgust.

William smiled. "Okay, Wynn... Thundershock, on the Lapras... Edison, use another scratch upon the Seel." William winched at the water gun that hit Edison full in the face.
After both Pokemon shook off the attack, they charged forward and used their own attacks upon the Pokemon.

The seel rolled a bit, taking only a bit of the scratch attack. After all, he did have a lot of blubber...he grinned. "<Barely hurt at all.>" Then he blasted Edison with a huge Surf wave.
Pras, however, was not having such great a time. That electricity hurt, and she glared at Arisa. "<What should I do now, hm?>"
Arisa paused. "Hail."
"<Right.>" Pras tipped her head up, and let out a strange, soothing yell. Suddenly, clouds appeared along the high ceiling of the icy stadium, and sizeable chunks of ice began to fall. Arisa grabbed a metal umbrella, and her two ice-types hardly noticed the falling ice.
However, it was safe to say the others in the arena (minus the referee, who also had an umbrella like the leader's) would notice it a bit more.

William was about to yell out an oder when the chunks of ice began to fall... and being a scientist... he stared dumbly at the ceiling and got hit on the head by a good chunk of ice. He smiled and laughed a little. "Okay guys.... try the attacks again... only reverse." He then promptly fell to his knees hold his hand to the lump semi out of it.
((What, he had no umbrella and he had never seen a Hail move performed before, so his mind was timing the time it took to get it hailing.)

The referee went over to see if William was okay, taking a small first aid kit out of a bag.
Meanwhile, Arisa frowned as Lees took a hefty bit of damage. Pras simply let the scratch go against her shell, and barely even flinched.
Lees groaned as he tested his muscles. "<Good...not paralyzed.>" He then took a deep breath, letting out a gush of icy air. The Icy Wind formed a flurry of sharp ice particles that flew toward Wynn - he was their target.
At the same time, Arisa looked toward Pras. "You do know what I'm going to order you to do, right?"
"<Duh,>" her lapras replied with a wink. She then slid nearer to Wynn, opened her mouth, and began to sing a soft lullaby (while Arisa and Lees focused on not listening).

William blinked. "Oh... nice song..." He was too still dazed from the ice hitting his head, so next thing to happen was not only was Wynn asleep, but William as well. He however in his sleep snored rather annoyingly, like a constant rise and fall of a kettle drum
Wynn only snoozed and didn't snore, however his checks did spark a little here and there.
Edison only growled and attack the Seel again. His anger flaring at seeing his trainer be hit by two attacks it seemed to him. He didn't know that William was a little accident prone in battles, only William didn't think that at all, he just thought they were flukes and he shouldn't be worried.

The seel grinned, and easily slid along the ice away from the attack. He took minor damage, but it certainly was better than an electric attack!
"Slide to the pichu and use Icy Wind and Water Gun!" Arisa ordered. Both Pokemon nodded, chiming in with a "<yep>" and a "<sure>", and did as she said.
Lees came in from the left, exhaling a large amount of freezing wind. Pras came in from the right, a jet of water bursting from her mouth. Both were headed towards the sleeping Wynn.
