(Bad title, but you gotta work with what you've got.)
Rain walks into Sapphire town, looking a little nervous. She had heard about the local Gym Leader from her various sources in the region, and she knew that ice pokemon were her number one enemy, since she loved dragons, but hey, that's why she spent so much time on Route 1.
She walks into the Pokemon center to get her pokemon healed.

((I <3 your title. X3))
The nurse, who did not look anything like Nurse Joy, smiled as Rain walked in. Her slanted brown eyes crinkled up into a happy expression, and her short black hair and tan skin radiated a calm feeling.
"Hello, there," the girl said in a cheery voice. "My name is Junko, and I'm a nurse-in-training while Nurse Joy is away."
She glanced at Rain's Torchic. "Would you like me to heal your Pokemon?" Junko asked, already opening the hatch to the healing system.

"Yeah," Rain says, recalling Hera, and placing her pokeballs on the counter.

Junko nodded, and scooped the four Pokeballs off the counter. She slipped them into the machine, and turned it on for a routine healing.
"Oh dear," she muttered as she withdrew three of the Pokeballs. "It seems your caterpie has a bit of a deep wound...let me run her through again."
After she returned Hera, Ruby, and Queenie's Pokeballs to Rain, she proceeded to do all manner of healing rounds on Rain's fourth present Pokemon. Ten minutes or so went by before she returned the caterpie to her trainer.
"Your caterpie is fine, to a certain extent," the Asian nurse explained sadly. "The wound is all healed up, but there is a rather large scar on her face that could hurt for awhile. Her right eye, it seems, has lost part or all of its vision. I'd recommend sending her in for some counseling, too. Things like that can hurt a Pokemon's mental health as well."
After Rain took the Pokeball, Junko beckoned toward the PC. "You have other Pokemon, right? If you want, you can withdraw them. However...oh, you have an egg with you, don't you? That brings your current total up to five Pokemon with you right now." She did a quick search on Rain's name in her own computer. "You have two Pokemon in storage I see, a zigzagoon and an aron. If you want, you can withdraw one. Or, you can deposit either your torchic or your caterpie to withdraw both. You may only have six Pokemon, including eggs, with you at once, and there must be at least one Pokemon for each group, you see," she explained.

"Yeah, there was a slight, incident when I caught her, I of course feel terrible," Rain admits, and nods. "Okay, I'll give that some thought, though I probably won't do anything right now," she says, placing the pokeballs back on her belt. "Thanks for the tip," Rain says before heading out, and towards the Gym.

Just as Ruin neared the front door of the gym, a young woman dressed in clothes made for a much colder climate nearly crashed into her.
"Ah! Sorry 'bout that," she said hurriedly. "Are you okay?"
Her icy blue-green eyes looked down at Ruin with wonder. Blinking, she put a hand on one of her parka-covered hips. "Hey, do you want to be a detective or something? I don't see a lot of young-teen girls wearing trenchcoats. Is it some new fashion?"

"Its okay," Rain says, and shrugs. "I just like how it looks, and it was this or a cape, dragon trainer thing."

The woman rolled her eyes. "You're a dragon trainer, huh? I can't say I've seen many with trenchcoats, though."
Flipping her hair haughtily, she looked down at Rain, this time with a feeling of superiority. "My name is Arisa, the ice-type gym leader of Sapphire City. Are you challenging my gym, then?"
Arisa, apparently, was not a fan of dragons. Actually, she thought they were okay...but hey, ice types were better. Every time she sparred with Corwin, she wiped the floor with her level 9 Seel.
Unfortunately for her, the professor always seemed to trick dragon-lovers into getting a charmander. Dragons and charizard seemed to go together, and she was sick of fire-type as well.
Let's see what this little girl can dish out, the woman thought, crossing her arms and waiting for a response.

"Yeah, that's why I'm here, and I just perfer this over the usual cape," Rain says, grabbing Hera's pokeball off of her belt.

Arisa grinned. It had been awhile since a particularly satisfying battle. She looked forward to watching the girl's Pokemon faint like flies.
"Well then," she began in a loud, confident voice. "Let's start it, then!" Beckoning Rain inside, she lead her into the arena room. "Here's the room where we'll fight." Stepping lightly over to her trainer's box, she pointed to one of the referees. "Tell him your name, and he'll register you during the battle."
The middle-aged man smiled kindly at Rain, and motioned to his palm-PC. "Wireless is handy, huh?"

Rain nods before giving her name. "Rain Skylark," she says.

"Thanks kid, and good luck!" The referee grinned again at the challenger before picking up his two standard flags. Going into his own box, he held the flags up, the blue one in the direction of Arisa, and the green one towards Rain.
"This will be a double battle between Challenger Rain and Gym Leader Arisa for the Freeze Badge of the Sapphire City Gym!" He shouted as Arisa grabbed two of her Pokeballs. "This will be a double battle. Each trainer may use three Pokemon, but two must be out at all times unless only one is able to battle. All Pokemon must be in Group 1. The match is over when one trainer has no more Pokemon able to battle." The man turned to Rain. "The challenger may switch Pokemon if she is able to, but the gym leader may not. Use of items is allowed, although the use of one item takes up one turn for the Pokemon it is being used on. Do you have any questions?"
Meanwhile, Arisa threw two of her three Pokeballs onto the arena. A Seel and Lapras appeared two respective flashes, growling and cooing in threats.
"<Looks like we got a battle!>" The Seel laughed.
"<Mmm,>" the Lapras answered, smiling haughtily at Rain. "<You wanna bet that she has no fighting-type Pokemon?>"
The Seel grinned. "<Probably has a Charmander."
Arisa crossed her arms, staring intently at Rain. "The challenger attacks first. Send out your two Pokemon, and let's get this match started."

Oh crap, not a good time to still have this Caterpie, she's my only other group one pokemon that I have with me, she thinks, and sighs. "I know this is a bad idea, but I've got no choice, go Hera and Caterpie!"
The Torchic and Caterpie appear, and exchange glances with a growl.
"Okay, Hera, use Ember on that Seel!" Rain commands, and the fire chick lets out a burst of flame.

((In a double battle, both your Pokemon can attack during one of your posts. ^_^;; Since you didn't know, only one of Arisa's Pokemon will attack here. Also, as long as your posts still follow the battle rules, you can do combos/unorthodox attacks/etc. Here's where you can really let your imagination go wild with strategy. X3 ))
The Seel winced as the flames hit him...but only just barely.
Laughing, he winked at his Lapras partner. "<I love the Thick Fat ability...fire only does half damage!>"
The Lapras glared down at the Caterpie across from her. "<Well, well, well...look what we have here. A little bug, come to challenge the big ice-type gym? Hah! I love trainers who can't use type advantages to save their life!>"
With that, she opened her mouth and a torrent of water tumbled out above the caterpillar in a downwards-aimed Water Gun.
((And you're getting two revives from the Wishing Well. I expect both to be used during the duration of this battle...use them how you wish, but it keeps you from being a Mary Sue while still winning. XD ))

(I know, I was just getting ready.)
At that moment, Hera uses her scratch attack on the Seel as its distracted.
Caterpie on the other hand almost fails to see the attack, but uses her string shot attack which wraps around the Lapras' head.
(I ain't cruel, so there is an air hole in there somewhere.)

<Armmphll!> Arisa's lapras spat as his mouth filled with the sticky foam of string shot, effectively gagging him.
The seel cried out as Hera's small talon's scored him, and he whipped around.
Arisa grinned at Rain, seeing that perhaps the strange girl knew what she was doing. "All right guys, now that you know she's serious, perhaps you can stop goofing around. Seel, Icy Wind! Lapras, use water gun to get that string shot out of your large mouth and then close it."
The stringshot bulged, and then hit a rock as the big water pokemon forced a jet of water through his mouth. Gobs of sticky string still clung to his lips, but he ignored those, as a harsh biting wind picked up and blew all over the arena, carrying bits of snow.

"Hera, ember attack!" Rain commands, and Hera uses her ember attack on the Icy Wind, while Caterpie uses a tackle on the Lapras.

The ember just melted the few flakes of snow, turning the icy wind into a slightly cold damp wind. Arisa grimaced as her hair started to frizz under her parka hood. Drat humidity in all its forms. "Sing, Lapras! Seel, do another icy wind. I want these temperatures back to normal!"
Her seel nodded, clapping his flippers together to summon another blast of cold, as the lapras began to sing a haunting lullaby.

Caterpie tries to use another string shot on the Lapras' head to stop the attack, but instead falls asleep from the sing attack, while Hera, who in the moments after the attacks colided, had moved behind the Seel, and blasted it with another ember.
