"Yeah, he just flew into the trees there," Rain says, pointing in the direction the Pidgey went.

((sorry for the wait))
"Really! OK. See ya later," she said, dashing in to the forest beside them, while her totodile just looked on.
Sighing, he said, < She'll be back in three, two, one...> Right on cue, a few howls of pain and his trainer's scream came echoing out of the forest. A few seconds later, Sarah was back out of the forest with the pidgey wrapped in her arms. She almost trip on her way out, but she manage to stopping just in time before hiding behind Rain. < Now what happen... >
"Well, I kinda stepped on a poochyena's tail while finding Flight here." She answered shyly, before her voice show more than a hint of fright and desperation. "Please help me."
After that statement, it was clear that she did step on a poochyena's tail because of the said dark Pokemon coming out of the bushes with a pretty dusty looking tail. Also, it was made clear that she also step on more than one of the bite Pokemon before return, seeing that two of them flanked the sides of the first one.

Rain looks at Sarah, and then at the Poochyena. "Did you try appologizing?"

The girl looked at Rain for a second before looking back a the pack of Poochyena. "I guess that would be the best thing to do." She had to mustered up the rest of the courage remaining in her to half-way stepped from behind her human shield. " I'm sorry for stepping on you while trying to catch my friend here. I'll make sure to watch were I step from now on."
A couple of low growls was her reply, before two of them turned their back and thrashed their way back into to bushes while one was left stunned at what the human just said. With dust and dirt covering her head, it was apparent that this one's head was Sarah's stepping stone for a split second. Regaining her pose, she growled, <Why should I take the words from a human? Nonetheless, one that's a klutz.>

The problem with wild pokemon is that they have a potential risk of mistrust of human beings, Rain thinks, shaking her head, kneeling down by the Poochyena. "Because she might be sincere in what she says, you can't be sure, but you should at least try and trust her," she says in a soothing voice.

"And I should trust the words of a girl in a trench coat?" she said eyeing her. "Fine. I'll go, but make sure not to step on me agian, klutz." With that, she leapt into the bushes to find a new place to sleep, hopefully away from the humans.
"Thanks," Sarah said with a sigh. "I just notice I never introduce myself. I'm Sarah Windcrest and this pidgey here is Flight. Next to me is Wave."
<Very original names,> the totodile mockingly commentted, smiling at his trainer who glared at him.

"Rain sounds like a cool name," she said before having an after thought. "You wouldn't happen to be heading to Sapphire City, Rain? If so, it's not that far from here. I just return from get my pokemon heal not so long ago. Just make sure you watch out for the flock of spearow that settled near there. They tend to attack most trainers, seeing most of them threats to their nests."

"Your welcome," she said with a sheepish grin. "I just did want you to end up like me, that's all."
"You should have seen the way she ran," the reptile snickered.
"I wish a Smeargle was there to paint that picture," the bird laughed.
Though this was true in every way, they each receive a evil glare for their comments before getting return back into their poke'balls. "Demons," she said underneath her breath with a hint of love, pocketing the sphere back into her shirt.
"Well, I guess I'll be seeing ya. I still a ways to go before defeating Arisa, the gym leader of Sapphire City." With that she dash off the way Rain came, almost tripping on a rock that was placed on the path.

"I should probably train for a little bit too, come to think of it," Rain says, shaking her head, and pauses to think about what she should do next.

"<DID SOMEBODY SAY TRAINING?>" A voice boomed from inside the brook near Rain. The water swirled around in one spot, indicating a foe. "<HAH!>
With a large gush of water, a lithe body hurled itself out of the watery depths (of about twenty centimeters). It spun around in the air, and made a (kind of wobbly) landing in front of Rain, striking a threatening pose.
"<IF YOU DARE TO TREAD ON THE TERRITORY OF LATHOR, FOOLISH MORTAL, YOU SHALL PAY DEARLY!>"
It really was strange how such a booming voice could come from such a tiny Poliwag.

"Ookay," Rain says. "You realize I'm easily 3 times your size, right?"

Lathor suddenly paused, his brow furrowing. "<Oh...yeah, huh, I hadn't noticed that.>"
And the amazing thing was, he wasn't being sarcastic. He actually hadn't noticed Rain's size...and she was more like 30 times bigger than him. He was kind of a shrimpy Poliwag...maybe the size of Rain's head, or something.
"<BUT THAT IS NOT IMPORTANT!>" Lathor struck his pose again, his fishy tail sticking straight out. "<I DEMAND YOU LEAVE AT ONCE OR FIGHT! RAAAAAAAARGH!>"
((OOC: I always have so much fun modding your opponents. *cuddles Kansai and Lathor*))

(Your weird, Nyaa.)
"And give me one good reason why I should do either? I have every right to be here if I want to," Rain says, obviously being annoyed by the Poliwag.

((Yes, yes I am. I like to believe it's my strength over others. I weird them out, they run away...and I take their stuff. X3 ))
Lathor paused. "<A reason? Um...well...I LIKE THIS SPOT! AND I WAS GOING TO PUT A SIGN UP, BUT A CATERPIE ATE IT! SO HAH!"
He hopped over to Rain. "<Or...I know! You're afraid of me! I see it now! You are positively COWERING BENEATH MY SHEER POWER! HAHAH! FOOLISH MORTAL!>"
Then he slapped her shin with his little tail-thing, since he had no arms. He figured it would give him more of a threatening appearance if he beat her up a bit.

"Dude, I could punt you like a football right now," Rain says. "I'm not intemidated, I'm just annoyed!"
(I've been reading Get Fuzzy too much.)

((I <3 Get Fuzzy, even though I don't get it in my paper...my neighbor has a bunch of books of them, though, so I read them at his house before he left for college. *sob* ))
"<Pfft!>" The Poliwag rolled his eyes. "<Puny defense mechanism. ANYWAY! I CHALLENGE YOU TO A BATTLE!>"
He then struck another pose before hopping away to his side of the "battlefield." Which, of course, was the dirt road leading to the Sapphire City skyline in the distance.

"Well, this is the only pokemon I can use right now, so sorry about this, but go Hera!" Rain says, and lets out her Torchic.
(This won't end well...)

"<HAH! A puny FIRE-type?>" Lathor laughed, taking in the moment. He had this fight in the bag.
He then took in a deep breath, and a small group of bubbles floated out towards Hera, glistening in the sunlight.
