Sophie smiled and bent down, onto her knees. She sighed and answered, "So? Would you like to fight your way into me catching you or do it the easy way? If you know where there are alot of corsela, show me please. I can't understand you, sadly, unless I capture you but.... Anyway, jump for you wanting to fight me and if win I capture you and spin for me to do it the easy way. Oh and tap me then walk in the direction that you know where they are if you know where there are recent corsela." She smiled and wishing the translator would work for wild ones.

((Um, Sophie, translator chips only work for pokemon that you have caught in a pokeball and have physically accessed the chip on. You can hear your own pokemon, but not wild ones. Unless Sophie was a cyborg, or something, and had inserted the translator chip into her motherboard ;D))

William Hamlet was just walking around, looking it was true, but for another reason, he was looking into the tide pools and rocky outcroppings at the vegetation, as well as some of the Pokemon battles, he wasn't looking to get into a battle per say, but he was also keeping an eye on his Zigzagoon who was running around investigating anything that caught his eye, both of them actually right now made a good team, they didn't want to battle but rather explore a little. William had become during the week a little less enthousiastic about Pokemon battles in favor of studying Pokemon in general so he could become a Pokemon Professor.

Carolyn chewed on her lip, before remembering his one offensive move. "Tackle it now, while you have a clear shot!" Though her eyes watched the battle intensly, she was still debating what to do.
They would be going on more field trips...Some of which, she thought, might include fishing. So perhaps she'd have plenty of chance to get a Tentacool. But Spearow...Well, she wasn't sure how common they were here, though she'd seen enough of them back home.
In any case, her mind was made up. Perhaps it had something to do with the innate desire most humans have that whispers into their minds to try and get ahold of anything that is more rare than another thing.
Maybe it was just simple deduction that tentacool would be easier to come across. She just hoped she was right about that.
Bear had ran towards the spearow by now, and bringing his stubby arms together brought them down in a (hopefully) devastating pound attack on the sleeping bird. Unless he had horrible aim (which he didn't remember being a problem) he couldn't /possibly/ miss, since the spearow was, after all, asleep.

The krabby was rather affronted at suddenly feeling the palm of the aipom's tail grab one of the crusty nubs on its back. He danced sideways, getting a good view of the creature. Then he struck out, grabbing the mammal with his strong left pincher he began to squeeze.
~ ~ ~
The staryu didn't know where any corsola were. They kept to the bottom of the pools, their pale coral forms blending in with the gray and lightly rose tinted rocks that cluttered the pools. There had been a shellder on "his" ledge, but the staryu didn't think that the little human wanted to deal with an agoraphobic pokemon.
"He" rose off the rocks with a popping noise of displaced air, to stand on two "feet." Energetically "he" did a back flip. "He" didn't particularly care if he was captured or not, but "he" certainly wasn't going to just "give in" and get captured.
~ ~ ~
A krabby, they were very common along this stretch, peered out from behind some rocks at the bottom of onw of the shallow pools. He had seen the human's shadow fall over the water from the weak sun that managed to cut through the fog. However, soon enough, the crustacean decided that William wasn't doing anything like krabby eating -- it helped that he had stopped moving. Carefully the red and white pokemon eased himself out, and scuttled under the water to see if he could find any tasty shellder.
~ ~ ~
The jigglypuff's fierce pound caught the spearow a clout across the head. Although a bruise most definitely formed under the feathers, this only helped the spearow sleep more soundly. While it didn't faint, the bird pokemon lost the position of head under wing, and tumbled from his rocky perch.

((Blergh! Spammy post time! >_<+))
Wendy groaned as she passed yet another wingull. The bird eyed her curiously, but as she and her accompanying rattata ignored him, the water bird decided they were no longer interesting, and flew off into the foggy skies.
Not like Wendy was any more interested in a wingull.
She had come here for one type of Pokemon, and one type only - a type best reflected, ironically enough, by the loaned Pokemon at her side. However, cruel fate and a lack of anything beyond basic politeness kept the two from being a permanent team, and thus, Wendy had begun her hunt for an unusually elusive type.
Normal.
The girl grew up around normal-types, she trained with normal-types, she best knew how to strategize with normal-types, and she had her sights set on having a normal-type as her first (permanent) team member.
And Wendy hated failure almost as much as not ranking in the top two percentile.
Unfortunately, when she learned of their field trip destination, her heart sank. They were going to a rather annoying place in the world - a place where there were only two normal-types, and both were rather uncommon. Fortunately, she did like having a rattata (though Frederik, while polite and a competant battler, wasn't exactly what she had in mind for a Pokemon of her own), and rattata were one of the two normal-types found on Fog Path.
Unfortunately (once again - that's two unfortunately's! Unacceptable!), they were going by the shore and around the tide pools by the ocean, and rattata were found on the NORMAL part of the path. You know, the part trainers actually WALKED ON.
So that left spearow.
Spearow were generally found, her stats sheet read, about six percent of the time down by the shoreline rock pools. If you reduced the fraction of 6/100, you got 3/50, or, to slightly better match the class size, the predicted spearow appearance-to-student ratio would be 1:~17.33. However, there were not seventeen people, much less seventeen people plus a third of a person (or, at least, Wendy didn't see a severed arm, leg, and torso floating around).
So that meant that, if one took into account multiple Pokemon that each student found, there would probably be only one spearow.
And some other girl found it! CURSE THEM!
Wendy narrowed her eyes at the battle of Carolyn and Bear versus Wild Spearow. Maybe she could...coerce Carolyn into trading her the spearow she found, if she caught it? She supposed it wouldn't give her good marks if she just caught a spearow somebody else knocked out. Maybe she could heal it, if Carolyn caught it, then ask it to battle...
Frederik stared up at her. Unfortunately (that's three unfortunately's! What was the world coming to?), they thought it would be more challenging for Wendy if she didn't always have the easy way out, and so they didn't buy her a translator. The built-in translators in the school grounds were fine, but on field trips to areas without nano-translators in the region (like Miteinjan), she couldn't converse with Frederik.
Not like the chatted much, but it made it just that much easier to develop a good strategy.
So the two walked along in silence, ignoring a few shellder and barely spotting a seedot.
Where were those spearow?

((Excuse me for sticking to automated generation, NN-chan, but you've got to wait for a chance at a spearow for at least one more turn. I just got lucky, however <fists air> 87 for Nyaa, 99 for random extra crowd catchable pokemon, baby! Edit: And I realized that with the pre-generated levels I got for the pokies that have appeared so far I can't have Arielle leave Elroy's side <grimaces at level 14 wingulls>))
Wendy nearly stepped on a tentacool, lying limply on the strand. She looked up at the human angrily, and wrapped her black tentacles around the offending foot that had come so close to stepping on her blue crown. Sheesh, she may have been waiting for the tide, and worried about drying out, but she was not just going to take near death with equanimity.
*Ahem,* Very cold shivers suddenly swept up Wendy's spine as an equally dry voice spoke into Wendy's mind. *Just so you know, the girl Carolyn was hoping to capture either a spearow or a tentacool.*
With that possible piece of advice Zirica, Professor Cervantes' ghostly mismagius, floated on. She preferred to remain invisible in day light, anyway. It took far too much energy to compete with the sun.
~ ~ ~
At the top of the cliff a zubat was having problems. The fog burned off more quickly on the higher elevations, and he was experiencing quite a lot of discomfort as his sensitive skin was hit by a few rays of sun. He had tried catching some bugs inland last night, and a kricketune had shrieked at him until her could barely tell what was solid, and what was air. His ears ringing he had attempted to flap his way home.
By morning he had found himself stuck in the branches of a bare and spindly tree, and decided to sleep there until he got his hearing back. But now the cool loving pokemon felt that he was roasting, and the sun was barely touching him through the fog.
He flapped awkwardly out of the ensnaring embrace of the branches, and flutter down the path, heading for the Rope Elevators. The way seemed to be almost drawing him, which cheered the zubat. He didn't need to rely on the fuzzy images his ears were receiving. Thank goodn--Why was there a huge blank wall looming up at him?!
It was then that the idea that the force that might be pulling him toward the "Rope Elevators" might be gravity trying to pull him toward a zubat slpat at the bottom of the cliff assailed him. He franitically flitted upward -- no at a parallel to the ground. Man, he was disoriented. He screeched out several screams trying to find a handy tree or somewhere he could hang until he got his bearings. No luck, but there was a softer mass a few yards ahead.
His green blue wings struggled over the distance, and then he landed on the heads of the few school children still milling around.
~ ~ ~
Arielle, looking hopefully at the cliffs as she talked to Elroy, saw the small shape flit down the side. At first she thought it was a wingull, but then she saw the thinner wings, and the shape was too dark to be a wingull.
She glanced at Vivian and the wingull. Darnit, the wingull look several levels higher than Vivian, and she couldn't leave Grey there with instructions to help Vivian if Vivian needed it while she ran after the zubat to hold the pokemon until Grey could come to her. Why did her sentret have to be such a useless battling pokemon?! Arielle couldn't trust her to be a help to Vivian without a human directing Grey's attacks, nor could she expect Grey to come willingly back to her once released.
"Um--ah," Arielle's eyes were glued to the fluttering form of the zubat as it swooped and veered toward the group of kids. "Er -- do you want Grey to help, or have you got it under control?"
Please be arrogant and say under control.

Sophie smiled and nodded. "Thanks." She added and then threw a pokeball. Out came an eevee, who looked as if he had just been crying. His ears were down and sad and Sophie said, 'hold on," to the staryu and looked at the eevee. "Now, Simpre, behave and please do good. If you do you'll be even closer to going back to Hazel. But that's only if you behave and we win this! Otherwise, it'll probably another year away from Hazel." Simpre's eyes widened and he nodded, turning to the staryu, looking ready. "OK, Simpre, use Tackle!" Simpre nodded and charged towards the staryu.

Elroy, a generally poised person, dropped his jaw as Vivian hit the ground. It was only a stream of water, yet it drenched and pushed his little soldier over! He had not thought to check the wingull's level, as Elroy was confident in Vivian abilities. There was a reason for that saying about making assumptions.
"Uh...Viviane!", Elroy yelled, for the first time in his life at a loss for words. Charme ees oute 'ove thee questionne, eevan eef shee ees quite unladee-like. "....tackle?!", he commanded, unsure at first, before confidence in his snubull turned to self-confidence, "Waite onteel yoo are deerectly undar 'er beak, ande shoot straight up with a tackle!" He was hoping it would teach her a lesson to refrain from spraying water all over the place.
Ariele's voice and question caught the teen off guard, and Elroy followed her distracted pupils to the fluttering, dull blue bat. "Yoo might bee abel too catche eet now", he joked, looking back to the battle. He really may need this Grey's help, as strong as this wingull was. Depending on what other attacks this seagull-esque pokemon knew, she might make a good starter. There was still Vivian, though.
Ay knoe ay need 'elp.
"Jeest git een ay queeck aytack weeth Grey, if yoo cood. Eef shee ande Viviane aytack too gethar, they cood doo some damige. Ay don't wante yoo too meesh out on thate bat.", Elroy replied, smiling slightly as he did. He wasn't always the little French prick people perceived him to be.

Vivian's stocky body (mostly her blocky head) slammed into the hovering wingull's throat. The water gun was cut off with a funny noise, something like: "urkle!" and the wingull jerked upward under the force of the blow.
Arielle grimaced. Wingull learned wing attack at level 11, and this wingull wasn't likely to be using water gun now. Vivian had best not get hit again, and the wingull's attack needed to be lowered. "I'll use Grey as the distraction, but I don't want her hit by a full powered wing attack," Arielle told Elroy, as the red and white pokeball arced. "Why don't you give Vivian a bit of rest by using charm. Grey, if you move fast enough you won't mess up your fur," she joked at the sentret who was picking her feet off the wet stones of the beach and muttering evil comments under her breath. "Quick attack on that wingull, coming in at an angle."
Grey made a face, but dashed at the wingull to hit her on the left. She would be soooo annoyed if she eneded up getting her fur we--
The wingull turned, and shrieked at Grey. The scream was jagged and harsher than normal, thanks to Vivian's tackle. However, it still ripped through Grey's eardrums, which still rang as she darted away from the wingull again. Wow, that had been annoying. She almost saw two images, swirling in front of her. She was so confused. Since when did she have two tails? And why was the world tilting so crazily?
~ ~ ~
As Simpre dashed toward the stayu, it began to spin, and Simpre dashed directly into the rapidly spinning arms of the staryu. The staryu was knocked back into the rock pool by Simpre's tackle. However "he" surfaced quickly, and clambered back on the rocks. "He" could have stayed under water, but that would hardly have been fair for the poor fuzzy mammal.

Should she attack again? Or should she try and capture it with her single pokeball? She wasn't sure of the level of the Spearow, so she wasn't sure if the single pound and being asleep was enough for it to be weakened to be captured...
"Umm...One more pound, and then we'll try and catch it!" Unless it woke up, in which case she would try and put it back to sleep again. That wouldn't be good, since if it woke up, it wasn't knocked out.
Bear actually kind of enjoyed this. It was amusing, how you could hit something and it wouldn't wake up. Maybe he'd knock it out this time... Though he doubted it. Still, he proud his stubby little arms down in another pound attack at the spearow, made easier being as the bird was closer to the ground than before, being as he actually was on the ground.

The staryu was tough. Simpre's tackle hurt, and knocked "him" off balance, however "he" managed to rise again. "He" concentrated, turning his outer shell even harder, using Harden.
~ ~ ~
The sleeping spearow let out a slight squawk as Bear's little fist pounded into him. The bird was flattened to the ground, and the sleeping dreams slipped away into a coma like unconsciousness. Of course, Bear, having defeated the pokemon, was now feeling stronger, having grown to level 11, after defeating the bird of the same level.

ooc: MORRINGFEARN! YOU'RE BACK! *HUGGLES YOU TO DEATH* Is it OK that Sasha, if catches the staryu, goes back to the boat and goes to show the pokeball of the staryu when her buneary (got it from giveaway) jumps out?
bic: Simpre's ears lay on his head but he kept his anger at bay. "OK, Simpre, use another tackle! Kepp it going and we'll hopefully capture this staryu and you can rest and you'll be a step closer going back to mommy hazel!" Simpre nodded and charged at the staryu, pictures of him and Professor Hazel hugging each other, on an arm chair and besides a fire which made Simpre go faster.

((Oh yeah, the more random in character interaction, the better, in my book.))
The high powered tackle attack smashed into the staryu. "He" tumbled back into the water, his stomach jem flashing. Simpre, crybaby though he was would have felt his level raise by one.

Mew stared as Grabber was being strangled by the Krabby. He's gunna get hurt. I have to do something, he thought to himself. Staring around, he tried to remember what moves the aipom knew. "Grabber use scratch!" he yelled at the small pokemon.
Thrashing around, Grabber began to pant. Facing the Krabby in an awkward position, he stuck out his tongue. <...Dumb crab...> he murmured. Extending his claws, he aimed a paw at the Krabby's face. A slashing sound could be heard at the monkey-pokemon took aim and slashed.

((I am Back now as well))
William looked at Krappy and it's movements, he was a scientist, and he wanted to study Pokemon, but then again... he was suppose to battle, he thought... He had joked with his family that he already was already close to being a scientist, he was absent minded, so he was suddenly trying to remember why he was out here in the first place, it was just fascinating though to try and figure out what the habits of the Pokemon where around the fog path.

The krabby frothed and bubbled, spittle coming from his mouth as he was hit by the aipom. That attack had hurt his rather soft shell, and in response he only did what was natural. His shell glistened in the weak light, as he hardened the carapace.
~ ~ ~
The krabby eyed the human wearily back, clicking his pinchers aggressively. The crustaceans were conservative and defensive in nature. They preferred not to be disturbed, and if they were, they would attack in order to get the foe to retreat. William's behavior confused the crab. It wasn't that William was truely invating the territory, and therefore, he was not a threat to be attacked. On the other hand, he was just standing there. This made him worthy matierial to attack.
The conflict of instinct and wisedom made the krabby step from side to side with uncertainty. If only the human had something to eat on him. Krabby were happy to attack anything that looked like food, and only scavenging wingull had a wider definition of what constituted "something to eat."

William was seeing the agitated Krappy and looked around. "I wonder what your... oh... I am in your territory?" He stepped back and then realized that he had a little bit of dried Pokechow... from Jacks small mishap at breakfast... so he pulled a little out and put tossed the food a little. He was making an on the spot hypotheses that the Krappy might eat Pokechow... He had already looked around, and with sadness had come to the conclusion that this was not a good habitat for Buizel so he might as well look into what Krappy ate.
