Okay, this is just an RP for our characters to interact. No battles, unless you want to battle someone and they agree to it, and no level gains/evolutions/new moves/TMs whatsoever (that's for real RPing with mods and stuff). Anyway, any Jentan, Tejan, or Miteinjan character is welcome here. It's a "Behind the Scenes" for members to chat it up with one another. Even Purr-chan, Gyara-Gyara, and Banny's NCPs are welcome. Just keep everything civil, and thing should go fine.
This technically takes place in Jenta, just to give it a location, but this is definitely more about the characters hanging out than any quest or journey. Wander is totally unaffected by anything happening in Jenta -- other than scenery changes, like the Altering Mansion actually altering.
~~~
Carra sat on the stone steps of the Altering mansion, looking at the sunny sky, and the wind whiffling the grass. Morath eased her breath out in a sigh. She still didn't like Carra to be certain, but -- <You know, I don't think I'd ever seen you grab me and haul butt like that before,> the dragon commented tartly.
"Okay, the whole rumbling, near earthquake thing scared the heck outta me!" Carra exclaimed. "I know it's not true dragon type trainer material, but I thought the ceiling was going to collapse!"
<Hmmph,> Morath crossed her stubby arms, agreeing with Carra's assessment, even though she had originally wanted to compliment her trainer.
Heck you could just use any character you wanted. Like how I'm using Carra rather than Tommy, since, while I love him with his pokies, he's really kinda a blah character for me -- I like his various pokies more than I like him... Sorry, <pets Tommy, who purrs happily>.
William Hamlet was doing something that he had not been able to do in ages in his mind, he had out a large leather bound note book and was looking up and then down at the paper writing in it... if anyone would look over his shoulder, they would see was what looked to be a tracking of all the different Pokemon that had been through the Mansion, as well as samples and sketches of the scenery around the building. He was of course not looking where he was going.
Carra saw the new person. As Morath watch him critically from afar -- perhaps he was a real dragon trainer -- Carra rose and waved.
"Hey, hello over there! Hello!"
William looked up and walked right into a tree branch knocking askew his full moon glasses. He looked around before spotting the trainer sitting on some of the old ruins of the mansion. "Oh... hello." He said raising his book in a salutation. "Sorry for not waving, I am just doing some field research... I am happy for moments like this, I can just do what I was born to, research and working to become a Professor." He then saw the Bagon. "That is a impressive Bagon you have there.... You are the Bagon's trainer are you not?" He was walking forward.
"May I take a look at him please?" He asked flipping to what looked to be a blank section of his notebook.
<Definitely not,> Morath said, crossing her arms.
Carra winced at the rude tone to Morath's voice. She was beginning to suspect that it was a really good thing that on Miteinjan most pokemon couldn't be understood. She opened her mouth to appologize for Morath, but the bagon felt she had to make a few things crystal clear.
<You're not going to make a professor, you idiot boy, at the rate you're going. A real learned professional would know that I am a female. Not to mention the fact that when you choose to "examine" a pokemon you ask the person you will be poking and prodding for that knowledge you so greedily crave. Carra is only a temporary set back for me, and has no control over who gets to do what with me!>
"Uuuuuuuuhg," Carra groaned. "I'm really sorry about what Morath said. She's a bit tetchy. I'm Carra, um, Carra Wayseid. I am really sorry. Morath is a bit agressive when it comes to asserting herself."
William blinked and looked right at the Bagon. "I assure you that great professor like Oak, Elm, Rowan, and Birch all started out like me and most likely made the same rookie mistakes." he bowed his head. "Ma'am I am sorry for the mistake but... can I at least sketch you? Make some observations? like color of scales, weight and height, maybe even any signs of evolving?" He was still taking notes, right now on the personality of the Pokemon. He was smiling.
He looked at Carra. "Oh, don't apologies, each Pokemon are different and as such, I am bound to find Pokemon that are shy, more willing to blow me away before talking to me, and others that I will have to slink away if I want to not go insane with all the talking that they might do." He smiled and this showed that he was not going to be abandon his dream just because he made one single mistake.
A high-pitched squeal that sounded like it belonged more to a seven year old rather than an adult woman of twenty years of age pierced the 'calm' conversation of William and Carra. "YOU TALKED!" Where exactly the noise came from was hard to determine, since the pitch of it rather distracted one from direction, until the excited chatter of Rii became apparent. She had, in fact, come from the exact direction as William. The reason he hadn't noticed her could have been because of his notes, or it could have been (and most probably was) because she hadn't been there a moment ago. Because Jenta (and as a side-effect it's mini-regional islands) had the magical ability of transporting trainers to odd places. Like Altering Mansion, although Rii had never heard of this place.
"I can't believe you talked, I mean I knew you could but I understood you, and I don't have that chip, which means that you-Wow, where are we? Maybe you can talk because we're here, I wonder where here is..." Her voice trailed off and she finally noticed the two before her, and had the decency to blush. She'd hardly been acting her age. Awkwardly holding Azrag with one arm, she raised a hand in a half wave-half salute greeting. "Um. Hi."
"Yeah, but she was so rude about it," Carra said.
At her knees the bagon hmphed, and crossed her stubby arms. <He deserves it. For being arrogant and -- what the heck?>
Both Carra and Morath swung their gaze to fix on Rii. Carra looked startled, and then bemused. Morath just looked exasperated. <She's far too excitable for a dragon tamer,> Morath sniffed disappointedly. <And she's got a shellder. How annoying.>
William Hamlet looked up at the newcomer. "Ah... hello," He stopped and looked at the Shellder. "A Shellder? A good Pokemon, just keep the Shellder away from Slowpoke." He laughed at what he thought was a joke.
He was now dividing his attention between the two Pokmeon. Of course if anyone looked at his belt, they would see a large collection of Pokeballs.
Carra smile uncertainly while Morath just rolled her eyes. "Well -- um -- how long have you been training anyway. And Where? You have so many pokemon. I've heard that it's really hard to get pokeballs, even."
William blinked. "I have trained here in Jenta." he paused. "I think it has been only a month... maybe two at most.... but it feels like a few years to me." He smiled and rubbed his head. "I guess Celibi is having fun with time right now eh?" He chuckled a little before stopping dead in his tracks he looked ill and completely still, akin to a stone statue.
He was mentally horrified that he had said something connected to the Legendaries. But he forced a smile. "So... are you just starting out?"
"Yes," Carra admitted. "There's so much I don't get at all, yet. I wish," she glanced at Morath, still glaring mis-trustingly between the trainers. "Things were easier. I'm certain something has been playing with my fortune recently. I hope that the trees can sort it out, though. Normally I'm not too superstitious, but sometimes you have to put your faith in something besides accepted reality."
William blinked before turning his head back to his book. "Superstitions only got people killed, nothing more." He muttered, but if it was directed to Carra or to himself, he gave no sign of elaborating on his use of words. For there was a small amount of bitterness to them.
He was now just pouring over his notebook, rereading some stuff, as well as what looked to be additions he made to the margins of older areas of the notebook.
"I haven't once met with any overly agressive kami," Carra retorted dryly. "Belief is useful, Mr. Bookworm. It can help change your outlook on problems."
William just ignored the last comment. "So... your Bagon's a little over aggressive?" he asked changing the subject, he just hoped that no one saw the watery eyes. He blinked owlishly to hide the fact that he was clearing them of the moister. "Or is she just one of those proud Pokemon? Because I agree that not many things can beat the image of a Salamance that is nicely trained in a battle." He shook his head.
"Uh... did I introduce myself?" He asked tucking the pencil behind his ear for the moment, showing that he intended to use it later.
"No," Carra smiled slightly. "You were too busy trying to sketch and observe Morath. As for the salawhatsits, I wouldn't know. I'm from Kanto, and we don't have these kinds of pokemon there. And before I came to Miteinjan I wasn't all that interested in Pokemon Training."
<I knew it!> Morath growled and glared. <That's it! The next fairly intelligent trainer I see, I'm taking them! You can keep that moldy old egg and much good will it do you, you incompetent fool!>
