Setting: This is one of the coldest areas in Jenta, so remember to buy a parka when you're in Nga! Right after you leave the tunnels of Nga, you will come out onto a rocky, cold alpine tundra area. There will be rocks, some short grasses and brush, and a high chance of snow or ice on the ground (or maybe falling, if you come during the wet season). Near the end of the slope downwards, it levels out, and trees start to grow, but you'll only find that when you get closer to Li Jing. Because of the cold climate, this is where you'll find the highest concentration of wild ice-types in Jenta. There are a few fire-types and hardy normal-types, though.
All of the Pokemon here are Group 3.
Common: -- Piloswine -- Delibird -- Abomasnow -- Ursaring
Uncommon: -- Jynx -- Sneasel -- Glalie -- Persian -- Jumpluff MUTATED!
Rare: -- Frosslass -- Mamoswine -- Typhlosion -- Swablu (level 1 - 34) MUTATED! -- Altaria (35 - 60) MUTATED!
The level range is: 53 - 60.

Rawr, Iceblus!
Name: Iceblu
Type: Ice/Flying
Ability: Natural Cure
Research Notes:
Corwin's Journal
Exactly what is it about this area around Nga? We've got pikachu who don't learn electrical moves in Sunstone Tunnel, bagon who will never fly, and don't evolve until level 50 in Route Five, and now angry, frozen, swablu on Route Six. I'm sorry, iceblu. Okay, here is what I know from public records in Li Jing, and Shing's generous assistance tracking down itinerant pokemon traders.
A few years ago some traders were contacted by the Nishihara Corporation. They wanted to promote "alternative dragon forms" with the popularity of my gym sky rocketing (I have to say, I wish they had told me what they were planning). Apparently their marketing team had seen that people in Li Jing were interested in training swablu because they were normal types, and evolved into the powerful altaria. So the Nishihara Corperation contracted this group of traders to bring some swablu and altaria up to Li Jing for sale to children and breeders.
Anyone ever tried to travel Route Six in the middle of winter with flying/dragon types? Altaria don't do well in the cold. Really don't do well. These are birds. Birds get sick very, very easily. The swablu were aparently doing a little better. But not by much. Then there was a blizzard. A few of the swablu blew away, and the entire flock flew after them in the middle of this blizzard (altaria and swablu are very loyal to each other, which is one of the things that makes them such wonderful pokemon. Everyone should have a swablu).
Once the weather cleared, the traders looked about for the pokemon, but the snow was incredibly high, they had almost lost the trail, and after finding a few frozen swablu and one frozen altaria they gave up, thinking all the flock was dead. They went on to Li Jing, and reported the loss.
What actually happened after this, we're not exactly sure. But when Shing was traveling along Route Six to inquire about the road block around Florak he went off the path at one point, and found himself face to beak with an angry altaria -- her wings were actually crystallized, and her feathers shone with ice. She was protecting a nest with smaller swablu also glittering with ice. After Shing did some expert dodging of dragonbreath he managed to get her to calm down long enough to talk to from a very safe distance.
Here is what we know about Iceblu:
These variants of swablu are now part ice type, and much less friendly than their warmer, fluffier cousins. Admittedly, swablu are so friendly that they'll cuddle with persian who might want to eat them, so it's not hard to be less friendly than regular swablu. That said, these pokemon don't trust humans very much, and prefer colder climates. They can survive down south, closer to Nga, but not happily, and they over heat and faint all the time, when they get into warmer areas, such as Route 5.
I guess that we won't be seeing many dragon trainers outside of the Nga area...

MUTATION ALERT
Name: Jumphlame (Flamey jumpluff!)
Type: Fire/Grass
Ability: Leaf Guard
Researched Notes:
From Corwin's Journal:
I'm really starting to believe that we need to take a hard look at our group 3 area -- for the third time in as many days I have stumbled across something weird. At least this time it isn't territorial, limiting outside a particular environment, or destruction of hope or dreams. Not any of those, at any rate, but I have decided while angry altaria are no happy sight, it is nothing to compare to the weirdness of a flamethrowing Jumpluff.
Apparently our air currents often drag jumpluff up Li Jing way. Naturally, these pokemon get a little cold up there, but instead of adapting to the clime, as the swablu and Altaria have done, these pokemon have drastically altered it, by melting away the ice and snow to create an area to land, and possibly look for a path out of the, to them, deadly area.
Flame throwing jumpluff...
Well, they are likely to survive much better in Li Jing's mountain region, and on the Snowfall Trail.
Apparently they somehow harness the sun by creating sudden "clouds" of pure oxygen in front of their bodies, and that flame jets forward... I realize that my university professors would be ready to despair of this fuzzy science, and woolly logic. On the other hand, if I meet another disturbing pokemon between now and when I get home, I quit.
