Lawrance walked down the path to the next town, his Igglybuff, which he'd affectionatly dubbed Bouncy, in his arms. This earned quite a few strange looks from trainers he passed, as it was uncommon to see a boy with an Igglybuff.
"I wonder what Pokèmon are found here on Route 1..." he commented.
"<I dunno... But I hope they won't take it too bad when I beat 'em... I wanna be friends an' all, but I have to fight, too.>" said Bouncy.
"Yeah, not much of a choice there, huh..." he thought aloud.

Immediately, a Spinerak dropped down onto Bouncy's head. "<I AM SQUEESHING YOUR HEAD! HAHAHAHA!>"

Bouncy jumped from Lawrance' arms, leaving him to get his arms tied together by the string shot. The Igglybuff landed in front of him, ready for battle. "Bouncy, Sing!" he ordered shortly before breaking free of the silky strings. "<Alright, Lawrance!>" Bouncy responded before begining her song. Lawrance, always the fast thinker (Read-in dire situations, he puts two and two together about as fast as a turtle can run a marathon), plugged his ears with the webs to block out the song, so he'd be able to battle through it. A Jigglypuff with a marker was enough... |

((Nyahaha, the ever-famous marker-weilding Jigglypuff that's been showing up less and less  )) The spinerak narrowed his eyes as the world seemed to grow softer and softer. Bouncy's song drifted through his ears, and he suddenly was very happy and calm. All his worries drifted away...and wow, that dirt road was starting to look so soft. And he suddenly realized...maybe the reason he was so grouchy was because he was sleep deprived! All logic leaving him, he decided to fix his grouchy-sleep-deprivation-ness, and keeled over onto the ground. About a second later, he started snoring. He was more out of it than a Jenta mod right after a trigonometry test and a barrage of bricks. |

"Um... Bouncy... You don't know any attack moves, do you?" asked Lawrance.
"<No sir, no I do not.>" Bouncy responded.
"So... What next?" he asked.
"<.......... I have no idea... Catch it?>" suggested Bouncy.
"Good idea!" he commented.
Law readied a ball and tossed it at the sleeping Spinerak, not really caring if he caught it or not.
(Oh, and I know what you did... You gave me that Venonat Mark's been wishing for... Thanks... A character late... But thanks.)

The Pokeball smacked the spinerak...but popped open after two rocks. The Pokeball rolled off into the grass, broken, and the spinerak woke up...kind of.
"<Nnng...wha?>" He asked sleepily, unable to keep his head from wobbling slowly back and forth. "<I'm sorry, but I don't know where the ice robot lives. Try the brick-thrower headquarters...they always know things like that,>" he slurred.

(Hey, Venonat's one of my favorite Pokèmon. 'Course I like it!)
"Brick... Thrower... Wha'?" he asked, looking rather puzzled.
It was then he noticed a sign next to him stating 'Beware of flying bricks'.
"Right..." he stated flatly. "Anyway! Whaddowedo?"
"<I have no idea, Lawrance...>" answered Bouncy.
"Uh... Eh... Ah... Bouncy, Charm!" he shouted.
Bouncy inhaled, and exhaled a number of small, red and pink hearts.
'That's... An Igglybuff's Charm? Wow... I expected something cuter..." he commented.
"<Hey, I'm just a Baby Pokèmon... Cuteness is Jigglypuff's thing.>" explained Bouncy. "<Besides, if my Charm was cute, it might give Americans the wrong idea about the Human-Pokèmon relations in the anime dubs...>"
"In the what now?" asked Law.
"<I've said too much...>" said Bouncy. "<Forget what you heard or I sic the brick-throwers on you.>"
Lawrance nodded, now completely lost... But the thought of brick-throwers didn't really make him wanna comment anymore.

The Spinerak, still very dazed, suddenly let his guard down even more. Even though he didn't relax enough to go back to sleep, he still wobbled a bit more, his legs turning slightly jelly-like. "<Kinda cute,>" he mumbled, trying hard not to fall over.

"So... I'm kinda thinking... I kick it into the feild and we run away. Sound good?" asked Law.
"<No. I refuse to let you hurt my Pokèmon bretheren!>" yelled Bouncy.

Luckily for both Bouncy and Lawrence, the Spinerak promptly fell back asleep. This was probably good for the little spider as well, seeing as it eliminated the need to be kicked into a field.
Which was probably good in the long run, seeing as his body was about as big as Law's foot...a kick like that could do some serious damage to a tiny little spider-thing.

Lawrance dug into his backpack when he felt something weigh it down. Inside was a TM labled Return. He immediatly used it on Bouncy.
"Bouncy, USE RETURN!" commanded Law.
"<Right, Law.>" said Bouncy, who charged at the Spinerak.
Bouncy used a Tackle-esque attack on it.
"That's... An Igglybuff's Return? Dang... I thought Igglybuff moves'd be cute, y'know?" commented Law.
"<We went over this... Baby Pokèmon... Mass ammounts of cuteness... American audiences... Brick-throwers...>" said Bouncy.
"Oh yeah..." responded Law. "I don' wanna be pelted with bricks..."

The Spinerak was knocked back, and finally went down. For real.
A Pidgey then flew over, dropping a note which read:
"Your level 5 Igglybuff KO'd a level 6 Spinerak. You gain 1 1/2 levels, bringing your Igglybuff's level up to 6 1/2. This note was supplied by the Jenta Math Departmend. QED."

Lawrance caught the note and looked at the Pidgey. He picked up a rock and threw it as hard as he could at the bird-type before it left range.
"I hate Pidgey..." he stated. (Something about... Pecking him upside the head several times before he left for Jenta...)

Bouncy was Pecked on the head, which wasn't a good idea, seeing as how that Spinerak was annoying as hell to beat up...
"<You're goin' down, Pidgey!>" she shouted.
"Bouncy, use Return!" he shouted.
Bouncy jumped up at the stupid flying-type with a sort of flying Tackle.

The Pidgey was knocked out of the air, and uttered a sort of "oof" as it hit the ground. Regaining some of it's composure (though its feathers were beyond rumpled), it rushed (hopped) forward to do a sort of lame attempt at a Gust. The little wind created by its wings was weak, since it also had to use the wings to keep from falling over.
Balance and Gust don't go together...at least on the ground.

The gust hit Bouncy, who had to keep from laughing.
"Bouncy, let's put it out of its misery... Sing!" commanded Law.
Bouncy began her soothing song.

The Pidgey wobbled a bit, then fell over, hit its head, and fell unconscious.
A note appeared before the Jigglypuff, saying:
"You beat a level 6 Pidgey. You, therefore, gain one level, bringing you up to level 7 1/2."
