The sentret danced about at the return of the bubbles. They were nearly as annoying as string.
They burst right against is target-like marking, and he again cursed his luck, though this time it was being born with such an unfortunate fur pattern. Then again, his opponent had one too. Though Romeo had no long-ranged attacks to aim at it.
Instead, his trainer said- "Now, use scratch."
He did as told, though he was pretty tired of scratch after yesterday's battle. At least they'd been able to wash the string off, but caterpie's tackle had left a bruise. What he really wanted was to try out his new attack sometime. Sure, he'd already done so while Kailee was setting up camp, but he wanted to try it out for real.
He slashed out at the water pokemon, aiming right for the top of it's head. That had worked during the last battle, though this was a different pokemon. He'd just have to figure out it's weakness one way or the other.

The amphibian's skin was tough and rubbery, especially on his bluer body parts with their extra dermal layers. He wasn't paying much attention though--his head was still ringing from the tail whip--and he didn't defend his large eyes as he should have, and a trailing claw swiped near an eye socket, opening a stinging scratch in the blue membrane there. That brought a squeaky breath from his throat.
<Ow! Ow! Ow! And eagle muffins! That hurt!> he exclaimed jumping back with his swimmer's developing legs. Concentrating, he consciously pushed at the water holding chambers in his body, and let their froth and bubbles pour forth from his mouth.

<More bubbles!> Romeo exclaimed. He again felt their sting across his skin. This was definitely begining to hurt more... he could feel himself weakening. Three bubble attacks and a tackle. Hopefully Kailee could find a way to defeat this thing soon, and remember to give him a potion afterwards.
<What's the matter, buddy? Getting your but kicked not as fun as you thought?> Somebody said from over on the log. Romeo had no doubt it was Grip. As if the eevee would say anything, much less taunt him.
<Why don't you be quiet? I don't see you doing anything!>
<That's simple- I'm not allowed to. Besides, I'd be battling much stronger things. Tadpole's aren't quite up to my level.>
Romeo growled under his breath, exhasperated, and waited for his trainer to give him her instructions already.
Ignoring her pokemon's bickering, Kailee called out- "Romeo, Quick Attack. Please try not to mess it up- don't go crazy."
<At least she said please,> He sighed, and flung himself into a quick attack, dashing right at the poliwag.

Meanwhile, Grip hadn't been paying much attention to the eevee sitting beside her. Bored, he'd wandered off, still listening to his friend yammer away.
He glanced up at the sloppily-made tent, ears twitching back and forth.
Go inside.
He did as told, nudging the flap away with his muzzle. His trainer hadn't bothered zipping it up. He pushed the heavy fabric aside and went in. For the little eevee that he was, the place was pretty roomy. On the floor lay a sleeping bag, already laid out, and Kailee's bag. Wonder what's inside. Open it, find out. Again, the bag had been left unzipped. He flipped the cover off, and peered inside the bag, sticking a paw in to rummage about. And he found two interesting things. One, a pokeball. And, when he nudged it, he noticed it was heavier than the others, which seemed hollow. There's a pokemon inside here... His friend didn't respond. Next, there was another round object. It was white, and had a smooth surface. But it felt fragile, and the outside was almost soft, and moist. An egg.Yes... you should destroy it. It would only be more competition. The others outside are bad enough. You want to become strong, right? This egg will only get in the way. The pokeball too.The eevee nodded. He understood. He gently rolled the egg up the side of the bag, and eventually was able to get it out. He had to search for the heavy pokeball again, before he could do the same thing with it. Now that both objects were out, he stared at them, unsure about how to get rid of them. It was about now that Grip had turned away from the battle long enough to realise the eevee was missing. He wouldn't be that hard to find, however, all she had to do was sniff him out. She got up and stepped off the log, on all fours. Romeo and Kailee didn't seem to notice her. She lifted her head to the air, and immidiatly caught scent of the eevee. She lumbered over to the tent. When she got inside, she saw thee eevee sitting on the ground, staring at something. A pokeball and... an egg? How'd that get here? Nonetheless, she walked over to the eevee, who'd heard her come in but didn't bother looking up. She picked him up with one paw, and stared at the pokeball as well. Why'd he taken this one out? She nudged it with her free paw, and realised it wasn't empty. <I'd better show these to Kailee, when she and Romeo are done.> She said to herself. Eevee, from in her arms, merely stayed silent. Acursed zangoose... don't worry, we'll figure something out eventually. The voice hissed. Meanwhile, Grip gently picked up the pokeball and egg in the wide claws of her left paw, carefull not to smash the latter. She held them against her chest, as she did with the eevee, as she lumbered out the tent again on two feet. She found a suitable place to sit, and let go of the eevee, who lept nimbly out of her reach. He shook his fur, and sat as well. They watched the battle as it continued.

As Grip had injected her two cents, the tadpole looked at her, stung by the comment. <I don't like you!> he decided childishly. <I never done anything to you, and here you are insulting-->
Kailee commanded her sentret at this point, and Romeo blasted into the undefended pokemon. He hit the little round body with a heavy smack, and the inertia of his blinding charge was great enough to lift the poliwag up, and smash him into the soot streaked stones of the fire pit.
He lay there, stunned and unmoving.
((Romeo has defeated a level 5 poliwag He gains 1/2 a level He is now level 7 1/2
If you want to capture the poliwag, do so in your next post, and/or choose to do the time warp, if you want, plus indicating the days, and whether you want to do the warp post, or have me do it. Cripes. Official instructions lead to run on sentences...))

<Great, it's over. Now, would you mind giving me a potion, babe? I'm worn out...> Romeo huffed, but his smile had returned. Yet another victory for the handsome sentret. His chest puffed up proudly.
His trainer nodded. "Right. My bag's in the tent..." The girl said. She spun on her heels, also feeling a bit uplifted by their win. But before she could enter the tent, she was stopped by long, grey claws.
<Hold on, Kailee, look at this.> Grip said, and she grabbed at her trainer's hand, (as best she could with her awkward paws,) Leading her over to where she'd left the egg and pokeball on the ground. Eevee was just sitting a foot away, watching Kailee with his big, brown eyes.
<Eevee found it in your bag... it's some kind of egg.> She explained.
Kailee picked it up, examining it. It felt somewhat jelly-like. "An egg? How'd it get in my bag?" The girl inquired. Her pokemon shrugged.
"Okay... and the pokeball? Why's it out here?"
She picked it up. She, like her two pokemon before her, could feel it was heavier than it should have been. <He found it, too. I guess he was curious why it felt different than the others... what's curious is, I just checked your bag- you still have five empty pokeballs. This one appeared out of nowhere.>
Kailee nodded, examined the pokeball some more, before pressing the small button on it's side.
There was the familiar red light, but... there was no pokemon. Only the three she already had- Eevee, Grip, and Romeo, who'd crept over to watch as well. Then, suddenly, a little voice laughed in her ear.
<Hey there, you! Are you my new trainer, then?> It chirruped. The girl jumped. She glanced at the pokemon, sitting on her shoulder.
It was a little bird, brown and tan feathers smoothed and well-kept. Confused, Kailee asked, "Where'd you come from?"
The little bird tilted it's head. "No hello? How rude. You wished for me at the wishing well, didn't you?" The trainer then nodded slowly. She remembered- on her way to Creekside Walk, she'd come across a hidden side-path that led her to the magic well. She was surprised it actually worked.
"Yeah, well, it's nice to meet you. Do you have a name?"
The bird ruffled her feathers, and twittered again. <Yup! You can call me Twilly! Cute name, no?> She giggled. But Kailee merely huffed. "It's a rather silly one, if you ask me. Anyway, welcome to the team, Twilly."
Before the bird could say anything more, she was taken back into her pokeball.
"Anyway," The trainer said, "We need to start thinking about training for the next gym. Does anybody know how strong the leader's pokemon are?" Romeo raised his paw, before he jumped up onto his tail, bouncing about ridiculously.
<Can I have my potion now?>
Kailee's eyes narrowed. "It looks to me as if you've got energy to spare... fine." She turned back towards the tent, ducking inside. She rummaged around her bag for a minute, before she came back out, carrying a spray bottle with the word "POTION" splayed across the label. She knelt down and spritzed Romeo a few times untill the bottle emptied, and she tossed it. (Of course Grip went to fetch it so nobody would be busted for littering. She didn't want to end up in jail before she even got started on her training.)
"There, happy? Now, back to my previous question..."
<From what I remember, I believe they're all around level ten,> Grip called, from where she was inside the tent, putting away the empty spray bottle. She poked her head back out, then walked back to where she'd been standing before. <I say furball's gonna need a few day's worth of training before he could ever stand up to her. And you're new pokemon's not gonna be much of a help, if she's a flying type. I say you'd be best off catching at least one more pokemon before challenging anyone.> She concluded, glancing at the fainted poliwag.
More of them? Really? Kailee couldn't believe that she'd be better off with more pokemon. The ones she had already alone were killing her as is... though the newer one seemed a bit better, despite her vanity. The Pidgey reminded the trainer of a lot of girls she went to school with.
"Okay. So we're going to have to do some more training, it seems."
This fetched a groan from Romeo, but it was ignored.
"And, it looks like I'll need another pokemon to make this work... and we also have an egg to take care of. This is going to be a busy few days, so can you all please at least help me out with this?"
She didn't get much of a response, and she sighed, returning them all back into their pokeballs. A long few days indeed. She picked up the egg and lumered over to the tent to take a nap.
(I'll time warp for five days, I guess. You can make the warp post, please.)
(Edit: Good lord, I didn't know it would be this long... O___O)

((Sorry, you got knocked out of the time warp by Jenta's Level Caps. You can still battle, of course, and initiate another time warp, but neither Twilly nor Romeo will be able to level up until you defeat Arisa in Sapphire city. And it would be a good idea to look into some of the other areas of Jenta, such as Sankaku, or the Altering Mansion, where there is a steel/flying type to be found in the proper group, if you only allow your group ones to be active. I particularly recommend the Underground Maze, too, as there are other steel types down there.
You have warped three days ahead.
Twilly is now level 10 Twilly learned Gust!
Romeo is now level 10 1/2
Your egg is now only 7 days from hatching. It's moving and and will roll slightly if you leave it on a flat surface. The jelly like outer membrane is becoming thicker, although the inner membrane that reflects pink or blue depending on the light has begun to pale as the egg grows larger.))
Three days of caterpie, weedle, the occasional bird, and both Twilly and Romeo were looking sleeker and stronger. It might have been enough to make Grip jealous. Or possibly pull Eeevee out of his strange little world. Either way, the morning was bright and clear as Kailee began the sixth day of her journey.
This morning began with a ledyba landing on the peak of the tent's roof, and whirring her wings very loudly ion praise of the sun and how wonderful everything was.

(Oops, alright. I'll keep that in mind next time I time warp before a gym battle.)
Waking up to a new day, Kailee sat up and stretched in her tent, much better set up than it had been three days ago. She was proud with it, now.
Not only that, but her two pokemon were that much stronger- just enough to take on the gym leader. Though Grip had warned Twilly would have a hard time of it due to her type, the trainer remained confident. Meanwhile, her team of four remained asleep in their pokeballs, undisturbed. The egg had been doing well, too. A day ago she'd taken it to a nearby stream, splashing the clear water over it. The instructions had told her to keep it moist- and it seemed to stay healthy- it was making progress.
The buzzing sound above her head barely seemed to effect her as she climbed out of the sleeping bag, and out of her tent, still in her nightgown. She spotted the ladyba, but didn't bother shooing it away. Which was pretty nice for Kailee. She ignored the bug.
So she instead made her way down to the same creek she'd visited earlier. As the name suggested, route one indeed ran side-by-side with the brook, making it easier to find it every morning.
Once she reached it's bank, she kneeled down, taking the cool water in her hands and splashing her face, making her more awake and aware. She took a moment to watch the water gurgle down the stream.

A little upstream a flash of orange and white leaped out of the water snapping at some bugs, before landing back in with a splash. The goldeen moved down stream, leaping out at regular intervals as he tried to snatch breakfast from the air. Seeing the human, he grinned, and flicked water at her with his tail just as he dove back under the glassy surface of the stream.
