The Sea Route
This is a short but beautiful journey away from the sandy beach to the tall, rocky, twisting spire in the distance. You will clamber over large, sharp boulders, which are stripped red and deep purple, before coming to spots covered in smokey hued shale and bright barnacles. If you're lucky you will spot some of the bright topaz rock pools, with their pokemon inhabitants, and nothing is more awe-inspiring than the towering cliffs behind you as the setting sun paints them in fiery orange, and deep blue shadows. On the other side of the road, the deep sea stretches out to infinity.
Hikers and photographers are advised to bring proper foot gear, as it can be tricky to get your footing among the natural splendor of the rocks and water. We also do not advise swimming here, as the tide is very powerful here, and the rocky beach shelves off steeply -- but it's great for fishing!

While it is true that this route is a beautiful spot, the terrain is very hard to navigate, and should only be attempted by the determined. Shale is a slippery, dangerous rock that can cut you deeply if you fall too hard and at the wrong angle. Still, the large blue and purple veined boulders that litter this stretch of beach are a sight to behold -- sadly, in some instances you have to climb them in order to continue along, and that can be difficult to manage. Still, there are some rare pokemon here -- although mostly you'll be lucky to see them, let alone get close enough to battle. Maybe you'll see Professor Kauri out in her row boat collecting research data, though. She likes to study this stretch of coast line for the deep coral reefs growing below the waves.
