(I really gotta start thinking of these things better in advance. Oh well, I'm trying the flipside gyms now, go me.)
Rain opens the doors to the first Flipside Gym in Fairyland. Do all these places have to have weird names? She thinks to herself as she looks around at the gym surroundings. And why do you need so many pictures of Latios and Latias?

((I assume you don't know the naming scheme, then. ^_^ Fairies have very little to do with it...))
A young girl with bright green hair in pigtails hopped out of a back room, a smile on her face. "Ah! I thought I heard somebody come in the front door!" She smiled, running up and bowing. "My name is Michiyo Mihara! I'm ten years old, but I go to high school." Her pink sailor uniform rustled she bowed, and her school bag touched the floor in the deep bow. "Are you here to challenge my gym?"

"Yeah, I'm Rain Skylark, its a pleasure to meet you," Rain says, brushing her long green hair back, trying to be polite, thinking over the lists of pokemon she had read. "Is group one okay?"

"Sure," chirped Michiyo, grabbing two Pokeballs from her school bag. "Ah! I'm sorry, could you wait one minute? I need to put my school bag away..." She then skipped off back into the back room, and came back bag-less. She grinned, two Pokeballs in her hands. "I'm back!"

"Likewise," Rain says, and detaches two pokeballs from her belt.
(Be weary, I've planned ahead.)

((That's what challengers usually do...))
Michiyo nodded, and threw the two Pokeballs with all her might. "Go! Maaya and Tadakichi-san!"
Two Pokemon appeared with a shower of blue sparkles. A shiny flareon and absol glanced around, realizing they were needed to battle.
"<Where's Sakaki-kaasan?>" Maaya, the flareon, muttered, ignoring Rain.
The absol just wagged, a happy expression on his face. "<I can fight for Michiyo, if you want.>"
Michiyo just grinned. "Ready when you are, Miss Rain!"

Rain smirks. "Predictable, go Hera and Benny!" Rain says, letting out her Combusken and Barboach. "Feel free to attack first."

((Predictable? The teams are set in stone...it's hard not to be predictable. ^_^;; ))
Michiyo shrugged, standing on her toes to see the battlefield better (she was pretty short). "Okay, then! Maaya, Tadakichi-san! Let's start off with a stat moveset! Let's go with Helping Hand and Leer!"
Maaya jumped over to Tadakichi, his paw glowing. As soon as he slapped the absol's paw, the glow transfered to the dark-type, boosting the power of his offensive moves.
Meanwhile, Tadakichi let loose a fierce glare toward Hera, lowering her defense.

(I know, that's how I was able to prepare.)
"Benny, use water gun on the Flareon, Hera, use ember on the Absol!" Rain commands. Benny sends a burst of water at the opposing fire pokemon, while Hera flinches a little as her defense is lowered, she aims a fire attack at the Absol.

Michiyo clapped her hands as Rain said the words.
Maaya jumped sideways, just as Tadakichi jumped to the right to switch places with one another. The small flames surrounded the flareon, making her coat shine a deep and ruddy gold. She sat on her haunches and yawned, slightly, even as Tadakichi slid backward next to her driven by the force of the water.
"I'm afraid," Michiyo said to Rain, still smiling, "that they call us the flipside gyms for a number of reasons. You should have chosen quicker pokemon, as elemental attacks just aren't fast enough. You planned ahead, but we intend to show you our best! Takakichi quick attack, Benny. Maaya sand attack cover!"
The soaking absol darted to the side of the water jet, and then he was just gone in a burst of speed, before slamming into the rearing mud fish from the side. Maaya turned around, and swept her tail over the boards of the gym, flinging dust and sand into the air in a billowing cloud. As the sand was released Tadakichi darted back to his partner's side in another blast of speed.

That's when Hera made her move, she had stayed closer to Benny than usualy necessary, and as soon as the Quick Attack had started, moved into a position to counter. Just as the Absol prepared to hit, Hera took the attack, and countered immediately with a Double Kick attack. "Sorry Michiyo, but your not the only one who can flip targets. But your right about one thing, we have to show our best, but the question is, is your best enough?" Rain says with a smirk. "You can't hide behind a smokescreen forever."

Hera's kick connected solidly with Takakichi's side, and he yelped, before disappearing in a blur of speed. He appeared next to Maaya, and flopped down panting at HIS side.
<Michiyo,> he groaned <it hurts. Please.>
"You can do it, Takakichi! I believe in you," Michiyo said. "Razor Wind! Maaya, another sand attack."
Takakichi rose shakily to his legs, as wind began whipping about his fur, his eyes glowing a deep, roiling grey. Maaya swept HIS tail against the ground again, like a housewife cleaning the floor, although in HIS case the flareon was making the room dirtier. However, the shiny creature muttered something about how it was ruining HIS fur doing this.
Edit: Mori-chan...Maaya. Is. A. GUY.

Hera and Benny group closer together. Rain stands there thinking of ways to get around this. Okay, this is deffinately a problem, the only way I can get at that Flareon is if I can get it out in the open, or maybe not, she thinks, and grins. "Benny, Magnitude attack!" She commands, and the earth beneath them begins to shake, depending on what random strength the attack was.

((Random Number generator says magnitude 1, Ruin. Perhaps you'll get luckier next time... img131.imageshack.us/img131/9702/killyx6.jpg))The ground shook and rumbled a bit. However, even with the immense soreness that streaked agony over Tadakichi's side, the wounded absol barely even jiggled. Maaya just rolled over on the ground, laughing and laughing, as Michiyo brought out her calculator, and did a few calculations. "Maaya, back up as far as you can and use another sand attack!" the prodigal gym leader said, as Tadakichi automatically stepped in front of his partner. Maaya scooted backwards, his tail and paws swishing furiously. In front of him, the blue glow of the absol's eyes cut off, and then the sand in the air swirled and blasted at Hera and Benny, cutting into the plaster wall on its way to slash into its two targets.

Rain thinks for a moment, and then an idea came to her, a rather bizare idea, but it might work. "Benny, use Water Gun on that attack!" She commands, and the mud fish sends a blast of water on a colision course with the sand attack. In theory, this might cause the sand to become heavier, and fall to the ground without leaving a scratch, or just make the attack a mud slap.

((Ruin this is Razor Wind. It has a power of 80 (which is actually 120 thanks to Helping hand), 100% accuracy, hits everyone on the opposing team in double battles, and is made of air. You can only sort of see the path it's currently taking because of all the sand in the air. But basically you're looking at rotating blades of air filling the room.))
Benny's water gun went right through the attack without doing a thing, and the vicious scythes slashed into his delicate hide, and Hera's feathers. Michiyo winced as she watched the powerful attack hit her opponents.
"Tadakichi, run around using the sand as cover and prepare the next razor wind!" Michiyo instructed, even as the final air blades pummeled Rain's pokemon.

(I MADE A MISTAKE, OKAY? IT HAPPENS!)
"Okay, lets try this, cross my fingerse, and pray like crazy..." Rain mutters, and then shouts out a command. "BENNY, MAGNITUDE ATTACK!"

((Okay, I REALLY didn't want to do this, since it kills almost any chance for creativity in RP, but it's time to use the psypokes damage counter to mod the battle, since you can't put yourself to the effort of saying whether or not your pokemon are hurt. >.<+
Okay: The stats of your pokemon vs. The stats of Michiyo's pokies, reached by the psypokes stat calculator.
RAIN Hera - lv. 17.5 HP - 52 Attack - 39 Defense - 27 Speed - 28 Special Attack - 39 Special Defense - 33
Benny lv. 18 HP - 51 Attack - 24 Defense - 26 Speed - 32 Special Attack - 27 Special Defense - 27
~~~
MICHIYO
Tadakichi lv. 17 HP - 54 Attack - 54 Defense - 30 Speed - 38 Special Attack - 31 Special Defense - 30
Maaya: lv. 16 HP - 51 Attack - 51 Defense - 31 Speed - 30 Special Attack - 40 Special Defense - 40
~~~
Now for the damage accrued each Turn:
TURN 1 Benny's Water Gun hit Tadakichi The water gun does 9 damage Tadakichi's HP is now 45 Hera's Ember hit Maaya Due to Flash Fire it did no damage Tadakichi's Quick Attack hit Hera Hera was not in pain, so the attack is a critical hit Hera takes 25 damage Hera's HP is 27
Hera 27/52, Tadakichi is 45/54
~~~
TURN 2 Hera uses Double Kick on Tadakichi Double Kick does 40 damage Tadakichi's health is 5 Tadakichi sets up for Razor Wind
Hera 27/52, Tadakichi is 5/54
~~~
TURN 3: Benny uses Magnitude 1 Magnitude hits all pokemon in the field that are not resistant to the move (flying type or levitate) Magnitude does 4 damage to Tadakichi Tadakichi has 1 HP left Magnitude is a critical hit on Hera, as it's effects weren't mentioned, and does 14 damage Hera has 13 HP left Magnitude does 10 damage to Maaya Maaya has 41 HP remaining
Hera 13/52, Tadakichi 1/54, Maaya 41/51
~~~
TURN 4: Tadakichi uses Razor Wind Razor wind is a critical hit on both Hera and Benny since they were god modded to feel no pain! Razor Wind does 47 damage to Benny Benny has 4 HP left Razor Wind does 49 damage to Hera HERA HAS NO HP LEFT AND HAS FAINTED Benny uses a magnitude attack It has an attack value of 3 according to the random number generator))
The magnitude rolled towards Michiyo's pokemon as Hera fell to the ground, fainted. Michiyo breathed thankfully, that it wasn't a huge power. Only magnitude three, she would guess. However, her calculations into the state of Tadakichi's heath had been over optimisitic. He fell to the ground, unable to take the banging and shaking of the gentle magnitude.
"No!" she screamed as her trusty absol fell to the earth, and the magnitude continued, racing toward Maaya, losing power as it tried to reach the far away target. However, the jouncing earth caught up with the flareon, too, bashing him against the wall of the arena. He rose dazedly as Michiyo recalled Tadakichi, crying slightly.
<No fear,> the shiny pokemon snarled his fur puffing out. <I can smell your weakness you stupid FISH!>
He launched himself at Benny slaming into the barboach, ad then darting back into the veil of sand that he had created.
((Tadakichi faints 'cause he only had one HP left, and the effect should be obvious Magnitude 3 deals 16 damage to Maaya Maaya has 25 HP left Maaya Uses Quick Attack on Benny If you remember to put that he's in pain it will deal 14 damage If not, the it's a critical hit that will deal 24 damage Either way Benny's K.O.ed
Hera 0/52, Tadakichi 0/54, Maaya 25/51, Benny 0/51))
Michiyo breathed out, shakily, smiling. "Well, that was a good match. Do come back."
(Not so fast, I've got one more move to make!)
Through his pain, Benny gasps out one last Water Gun attack before being hit full on by the attack, and lets out a cry of pain as he faints. Okay, if this doesn't work, I'm screwed. If it does work, I'm still screwed. Either way, I'm screwed! Rain thinks.
(Lets just try this, I want to at least try and end on a draw. Either, way, Benny did faint, just to be fair.)
((I don't know if I would accept this. Even so, I ran it through the Psypokes damage calculator (I think I did it right), and it only came out to be 21 damage points. That would still leave Maaya with 4, and I don't think it would be a critical hit.
So I'm sorry, Ruin, but you're going to have to take this one as a loss.))
