(Okay, lets improvise, maybe she got hit a little bit by the attack before she got into position to attack with ember, sorry.)

((Accutally, I'm talking about the sing thing, and you know, going to sleep, and such. At least one of your pokemon needs to.))

Er, is falling asleep this before or after the string shot, and the whole Hera getting hit, or not getting hit, is now kinda confuzzling. Perhaps if you could rewrite your post it would all make more sense.

Caterpie tries to use another string shot on the Lapras' head to stop the attack, but instead falls asleep from the sing attack, while Hera, who in the moments after the attacks colided, had moved behind the Seel, and blasted it with another ember. ((Thank you for making it all clear to me ^^. <kicks writer's block> This is embarassing. I can't think of anything to write. Please excuse the crappiness of this post)) The seel barely noticed the flame attack, feeling rather that his side had been pleasantly warmed. However, his sausage shaped body put him at a disadvantage, as he couldn't turn to hit Hera easily. "Lapras," Arisa called, "now that the caterpie is asleep use water gun on the torchic!"

(Gonna cross my fingers, and hope this works.)
Hera sees the attack coming, and adjusts herself so she's directly behind Seel, after ducking down, the attack should hit Seel instead...
(If this works, we can have some of the water hit Hera at the same time, just to make it fair.)

The watergun jetted over Hera's head, dropplets falling on her feathers, but most hit the seel, who twisted his head, rolling to the right to escape from the blast, and glared. <Watch it Shell-for-Brains!>
Arisa stamped the ground. "Clever move. Alright, Lapras, sing! Seel, use auroa beam on the Caterpie!"

I hate to admit it, but this might be hopeless, I should've trained a little more, Rain thinks. "Well, if I'm going down, might as well go down fighting, Hera, use ember before you are affected by the sing!"

Neither of the water pokemon was affected much by the barage of flying embers, although the seel looked affronted. <Can't you use something original? Now I'm covered in soot.>
<Hardly matters,> the lapras smirked, before aiming a jet of water gun right at Hera.

This knocks out the poor Torchic, and Rain bows her head, recalling Hera. "Okay, your pretty good, I guess I underestimated you," she mutters.

"You don't have any more pokemon?" Arisa smirked slightly.
Typical dragon trainers. They always thought they were so high and mighty until they ran into a wall of ice. "Well do come by the gym again, once you've actually started to train."

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that, I only have two Group 1 pokemon with me, but I will be back," Rain says after recalling her Caterpie, and walking out, heading towards the Pokemon Center.
(Okay, that was a flop.)

((I think it has more to do with the fact that NN-chan was so desperate for someone to challenge the gym that she persuaded you to come here, even though your pokemon weren't ready. You'll make it next time.))

(Yeah, I'll get healed, grab some items, and go train on Route 1.)

The nurse at the pokemon Center Desk looked up in interest when Rain came in. "Back so soon?" she inquired.

"Yeah, the battle at the gym was a flop," Rain mutters, and takes out the pokeballs for Hera and her Caterpie. "This is all I need healed right now."

"All right," the nurse told her kindly, putting the pokeballs in the machine. "It's okay, Arisa usually mops the floor with her opponents. It's all of those strong moves her pokemon know."
In only a second the pokemon were restored, and handed back to Rain. "Here you are. Better luck next time."

"A little training for Hera won't hurt, maybe I'll head to the next gym first, then come back..." Rain says as she takes her pokeballs back, and shrugs, heading out of the pokemon center, she then heads for the pokemart.

The pokemart was being staffed by a sleepy young man with bleached hair, who didn't look all that interested in anyone who came in as long as they didn't shop lift.
"Just come up to the counter when you have what you want," he mumbled, as the slowpoke at his feet yawned.
