Rain walks down the path towards Professor Cherry's house, her trench coat flowing behind her despite the lack of wind. Hmm, first pokemon, first pokemon. Well, Bagon isn't avalible, so I guess I can settle for a Dratini, or maybe a Torchic if it comes to that, she thinks, and knocks on the professor's door.

((Ruin-san...do you mind using past tense? I don't really care, it just makes it a tad easier to speed-read. ^_^; ) The professor opened the door, and immediately brightened. "Another trainer! And so soon? Wonderful! Please, come in, come in!" He beckoned Rain inside his only slightly messy lab. Of course, he was messier than the lab, with is slightly rumpled white lab coat and Einstein-like white hair, but still... "Now then, I can assume you're here for a Pokemon, eh?" He asked, looking at the trench-coat-wearing girl. "Can you tell me which one you'd be interested in?"

"I was hoping for a Dratini," Rain says calmly.

"Dra-dra-dra-" The professor stuttered, unable to finish talking. "Wh-why would you want my Dratini? You'd hate her. She's got a real bad attitude. Hey! You look like a Torchic lover! Lot's of dragon people have Blazikens, it balances their teams out." He scuttled over to the shelf with three Pokeballs, and picked them up. "Why don't you meet them? All the nice, nice Torchics...here!"
With a jerky moment, he opened all three of the Pokeballs, and three Torchics appeared on the floor. All three looked up at Rain. However, one had a slightly different reaction than the other two.
"<Aw, man! A new trainer! This one looks so...mean!>" He glared at the professor. "<I can't BELIEVE you'd make us come out to meet a mean trainer! Ugh, sometimes you are just so STUPID!>"
"<Now, now,>" another one began, his tone a little softer. "<She looks like a nice person, and if the professor thought she would abuse us, he wouldn't have sent us out.>"
"<Yeah,>" the third added, this time in a clearly female voice. "<She looks nice. I'd be happy to go with her and help her out.>"
"See!" Professor Cherry said (rather nervously). "Two nice Torchics...one...kinda short-tempered one. But still! Lovely, healthy, strong Torchics...yay for Torchics..."

"Ahh yes, short tempered, must take after her european ancestors," Rain says, referring to the Dratini of course. She raises an eyebrow at the Professor and sighs. "Well, I've got a friend back in Kanto who might be able to send me one sometime, so yeah, I'll take a Torchic, now which one, deffinately not the one who thinks I'm mean."

"<Good.>" The Torchic peeped angrily.
The other two stepped forward. "<You seem rather intelligent...and I like how you didn't argue with the professor,>" the female one said as he grinned a beaky grin.
The other one nodded. "<He's rather...stingy...anyways, would you like to ask us questions, or anything? I'm open to anything!>"
Meanwhile, the professor was trying to get his normal breathing back, though the color had returned to his face ((what a wimp X3)).
((Oh yeah, and Ruin-san...check out the giveaway! Ya might get a Dratini there! ^_^))

(Don't be a wimp? Or don't argue with the crazy professor?)
"Well, there's not much I can ask, I've lived around a lot of pokemon in my life, my parents where researchers before... never mind," Rain said. "Anyway, when I look for a pokemon, I perfer one thats nice and easy to get along with. One of my first lessons was to love pokemon, and they'll love you back. Of course, you both seem to fit those qualities."
(We'll discuss the Dratini later, but that one dosen't seem to be of my tastes.)

((I was saying the professor is a wimp for getting so worked up about a Dratini. -_-;; And check out the giveaway! Ya might get somethin' good! ^_^))
"<Love...a mutual trust between trainer and Pokemon, too, right?>" The male one asked, smiling. "<You seem like a good person.>"
"<Yup! Really nice! And...I agree!>" The other one peeped, though she sounded basically like an echo.

Rain thinks for a minute, and then says. "Well, its almost too bad I can't take you both, but I'll choose as my first pokemon, you," Rain says, pointing to the female Torchic.

"<Aw, well, I hope you two have a good journey together,>" the male one said politely, stepping back.
The female one grinned, and hopped up to Rain. "<Yay! Let's be good friends!>"
The professor returned to the room after exiting it to get a Pokedex and five empty Pokeballs, as well as the Pokeball the Torchic came from. "Here you are. Good luck on your journey!"
((Here are the stats for your Torchic-chan: Torchic Gender: Female Level: 5 Nickname: Whatever you want Type: Fire Attacks: Scratch, Growl Ability: Blaze: When Torchic's HP gets low, its fire attack power is multiplied by 1.5. Personality: A sweet girl, with a very sunny personality. However, she likes to echo things people say, simply because she likes to add things to the conversation. She's a pretty loyal fighter, and likes to do her best in her battles.
You may post in Route 1 now.))

"Thanks Professor," Rain says, and leaves for Route 1, her Torchic resting on her shoulder.
