'Ah' was said as the man of Seveteen walked up to the lab knocking the door once, he then thought 'My, I think I want a Treecko, there strong, intellegent and their evolutions aren't bad either.' He then knocked on the door once more as it began to get much colder and he tugged on his jacket hoping to conduct some heat from the rubbing of the jacket on his raw skin. 'Hello?' Jay said knocking on the door for the third time, wondering where everyone might have been.

((Yay! New member! We've gotten, like, two or three in the past couple of days. It's so exciting! I'm Nyaa-Neko, the head admin. Just because I'm curious...where did you come here from? Like...how did you hear about Jenta?)) Professor Cherry opened the door slowly, peeking out from behind as if he would be attacked. As soon as he saw Jay, and not a small group of uniform-wearing girls bearing boxes of cookies, he sighed with relief. "Oh good, you aren't one of those PokeScouts," he commented, opening the door all the way. "You were the boy who wanted a starter, eh? Well come on, in with you." Once he ushered Jay inside, he gave the new trainer the once-over. "Eh, you're an older boy, aren't you? Good good, doesn't matter. Anyway, what sort of Group 1 starter would you like? I assume you read about the group system...it's rather unique. If you haven't, here's a pamphlet. It's got the basic description on the outside, and a more detailed on on the inside." The old man paused, and reached inside his lab coat, pulling out another sheet of paper, which he handed to the new trainer. "This is the list of Pokemon we offer here. Give it a look, and tell me what you want. Keep in mind, you can only pick your Group 1 starter, and your Group 2 and Group 3 starters are pretty much random." ((I did look at 'em, no psychic's so i was a bit bummed & I seen it from Region Rune)
"Well I have heard of this system, and I would really like Treecko, a strategic nature and also Male please"he replied to the Professor with a smile. (Short X.X)

((But you can get psychics for Group 2 or 3, if you're lucky or are generally liked by number generators. X3 ))
"Hmm." The professor thought for a moment, and glanced back at a cage in the middle of the chaotically-filled lab. His glance took in the visual of a large, spaceous cage, in which two Ekans were eating their lunch. "Haru, Hana, do we have a male strategically-oriented Treecko?"
One of them looked up. "<Yesssssssss, he came in a week ago. Don't you remember?>" Haru, the male one, replied between bites.
Hana, the other, looked up and giggled. "<Professsssssor, don't tell me you're getting sssssssenial.>"
"Shut up," the man spat, crossing his arms. "Don't make me give you to this boy..." The two were unalarmed.
Professor Cherry looked back at Jay, and then pointed to a table. "Treecko it is, then. Now, choose one of our many selection of colors for Pokedexes. As you can see, we offer orange, yellow, green, light blue, purple, brown, white, grey, and black. We ran out of red and blue, and accidentally got more green instead...sorry. They're too popular for me to keep up with," he explained guiltily.

Jay then looked oddly at the two Ekans as he then looked towards the pokeball with a huge grin. 'I would like a Black pokedex, I really don't like Green, it's not quite into my style' he said hoping that he made sense.

"Black is fine," he replied, snatching the dark Pokedex off the cluttered desk. He then shuffled into the back room.
Five or so minutes and twelve crashing sounds later, he emerged, holding a brown paper package and looking a little more rumpled than usual. He handed the package to Jay, and began his long lecture.
"Alright, so this is your starter package. Inside, you will find your black Pokedex, a wallet with 5000 pyen inside, a bag of assorted berries for the road, five empty Pokeballs, and three filled ones. They have your three starters inside. Now, then, listen up."
He pointed to the large, crooked, and slightly beat up map of Jenta gracing one of the walls. His gnarly finger jabbed at the area marked "Lab." "This is where you are now, at my lab. As you can see, there are three land roads coming from it. The first, Route 1, is this one, that goes east. It will take you to Sapphire City and the ice-type gym. Now then, this is the road where you will be relying on your Group 1 starter, and whatever Pokemon you catch. I would not recommend starting on this route, since Treecko has a huge weakness to ice, and nothing you catch will help you in the gym. I would wait to travel in this part of Jenta."
He moved his finger south. "This road, Route 3, takes you southbound to the grass gym in Florak Town. Along the way you will be using your Group 2 starter mostly, as well as whatever you catch along the way. Luckily, there are a few flying-types to be found on this route, which will help you in the gym. Your starter is, if I recall correctly, a psychic-type with a fire-type move, which will help you a little bit in the gym. This may be a good route to start with."
Finally, he pulled his finger north. "This is the last option you have, Route 5. It takes you north to Sunstone Tunnel, which in turn takes you into the Settlement of Nga inside the mountain. It is a place to use your Group 3 Pokemon, which may be a little difficult, seeing as your starter may have issues with on-land battle. However, there are many fire and ground Pokemon to be found along the way, all of whom will prove extremely useful in the steel gym. Also, I think your Group 3 Pokemon is a water type, so it also may be a good choice as a starting route."
After he was sure Jay retained all of what he said, he all but pushed the boy out the door. "Well, boy, have a good journey, and don't hesistate to call with questions, eh?"
((Lucky you, I managed to get two psychics to choose from in my number-generating. I hope you liked the one I picked. X3 Anyways, here are the stats of your three starters:
Treecko Gender: Male Level: 5 Group: 1 Nickname: whatever you want Ability: Overgrow: power of grass attacks goes up with low health Attacks: Pound, Leer Personality: Calm, cool, and collected. Views everything with a strategic eye, and believes everything has a logic situation. Has a very good head for battling, though he will often ignore what his trainer orders him to do, and come up with his own strategy.
Solrock Gender: N/A Level: 25 Group: 2 Nickname: whatever you want Ability: Levitate: ground-type moves have no effect Attacks: Harden, Rock Throw, Fire Spin, Psywave Personality: Cheerful and helpful is an understatement. It always wants EVERYBODY to be happy, and will do anything to make them happy. Always overly optimistic, it thinks that sadness is the world's greatest enemy, and is on a war against it. Sometimes this presents itself as a problem during battles...as defeating its opponent would make them sad!
Feebas Gender: Female Level: 45 Group: 3 Nickname: whatever you want Ability: Swift Swim: speed is doubled when it is raining Attacks: Splash, Tackle, Flail, Dragonbreath Personality: A little vain, even though she isn't a Milotic (YET!). Until she becomes a Milotic, she will not stop pestering her trainer about it. She's sweet reallyreallyreally deep down, but on the outside...well, if you aren't beautiful enough, she definitely won't let you see anything past. She is always trying to get her trainer (and her opponents, even) to at least TRY to be more stylish.
And there you have it. Please copy + paste these stats into your character's thread in the Applications forum, and keep the levels/group/attacks/etc. up-to-date.
Other than that, it's off to Route 1, 3, or 5 with you!))
