Hannah traipsed down the road, knocked on the door to the Lab, entered, was greeted by a smiling Professor Cherry, chose a Dragonite as her first Pokemon, and went on to win all her gym battles and save the world in the process. Then she woke up.
Goggily opening sleep-blurred eyes, she mumbled incoherently at the alerm clock before settling for attempting to turn it off with a swing of her arm. Upon making contact, it fell off her desk and landed on the floor with an unsettling crunching noise, effectively shutting it off.
Good enough.
Rolling over, she sat up and more or less tumbled out of bed and into the first clothes she saw: a brown mid-calf length skirt and white t-shirt. Looking at herself in the mirror, she briefly considered brushing her hair before deciding not to bother. It would only get in her eyes again later.
Happy 17th, me.
She tried out a smile, changed it to a grimace when she saw the anti-photogenic look, and reached down to grab the necklace she'd made sure to leave out the night before. It was a simple silver chain with a thumbnail-sized rabbit on the end, black with one sparkling blue eye. It was her good luck charm, and anyway, you never saw rabbits out here.
Slipping it over her head, she pulled it under her hair and gave the room a once-over to see if she'd missed anything.
Nope, all good here.
Satisfied, she walked out the door and broke into a stomping rush on her way down the stairs.
"Hi mum, love you mum, bye mum!" was all she said as she breezed out the door. "I'll write!"
-------
By the time she reached the Lab, she was regretting her decision not to buy a bike. She hadn't needed one before, but... Hoping her hair wasn't too out of place, she took a moment to catch her breath before knocking on the door.
Lab, here I come. If I don't die of heat exhaustion first.
