Drake's Landing:
Welcome to Drake's Landing, the volcano town of Tejan! The locals of Drake's Landing will be happy to show you around, especially if you have either a fire-type or a dragon-type somewhere in your party. Just make sure you find a local with the same type as your own, or they may not like you (and if you have both, just conveniently forget you have one of them when you're talking to them). Don't have a fire-type or dragon-type? That can be remedied by a breeder or, in fact, the gym itself.
Basic Summary: This town on the lip of Tejan's (hopefully) inactive volcano used to be known for the charizard the local breeders produced. Traditionally the Town's Fire gym was run by the breeder who produced the best pokemon, as determined by an annual battle between the bred pokemon. However, several decades ago there was an internal split between the breeders as to whether better pokemon were produced when one concentrated on charizard's native fire type, or latent draconic abilities. The dragon breeders set up a gym inside the volcano's crater, while the fire breeders remained in town. Funnily enough the dragon breeders are beginning to concentrate on dragonair lines and their water abilities now.
The Gyms: The official gym of Drake's Landing is the fire gym, located in the center of town, where you can battle to earn your Inferno Badge. Alternately, if you wish, you can travel to the edge of the crater and fight in the dragon gym for a variety of prizes.
Drake's Gym:
Basic Information:
Requirement to Challenge: Spectrum Badge
Badge: Inferno Badge
Arena: This gym makes use of a large desert biome arena. The breeders of the gym use it to get their younger charges used to battling. The theory is that if young charmander see strong gym battles every day, they won't flinch away from them. Charmander are the spectators to all gym battles, as well as some of the breeders.
So, you, as a challenger, get to fight the current leader in a vast open space covered in sand, and rocks, with the occasional cactus. The arena itself is large and oval, bounded by a short wire fence. If your pokemon is knocked beyond those bounds they might feel the caress of a flame thrower from a mother charizard who doesn't want her babies squished.
Location: Center of Drake's landing, it's the big glass building. (The glass is very expensive, and comes all the way from Kuriblitz Peak, so please don't let your pokemon break it).
The Gym Leader:
Name: Abersa Griole
Age: 16
Appearance: Short with dark hair, Abersa like to dress up in lovely dresses, and has a one sides love affair with anything that sparkles. Her favorite colors are rich saturated reds and pinks. She hates pastels with a fiery passion (like woah). Unfortunately, in her role as a breeder, she can't usually dress up, since even egg laying is a messy business, not to mention the moment of hatching, and all that oh-so-lovely fluid, and level one pokemon are just little manure factories. So, she'll wear the standard red canvas apron and bandana of her trade, most of the time.
Personality: Abersa is quick tempered, and an absolutist. She loves fire pokemon. She hates dragon types. She hates water types. She loves red... You get the idea. Once she has made a judgment about something she won't back down. This is reflected in her battle style, which is aggressive and relies heavily on powerful fire attacks.
The Pokemon:
Total: 6
Amount to Challenge: 2 (She'll offer you a choice from her six, but you will have to face one charmander, and one charmeleon)
Pokemon:
Charmander
- Gender: male
- Nickname: Centurion
- Level: 13

- Level: 14

- Level: 15
- Ability: Blaze
- Attacks: Scratch, Growl, Ember, Smokescreen
- Personality: He was actually a wild capture, and tends to feel a little inferior to all of the pure bred charmander he's surrounded by. This has made him train the hardest, but Abersa isn't a smart enough trainer to use his full potential.
Charmeleon:
- Gender: female
- Nickname: Sparks
- Level: 14
- Ability: Blaze - Fire attacks go up in a pinch
- Attacks: Ember, Metal Claw, Fire Spin, Growl

- Nickname: Cardinal
- Level: 16

Paradise Breeding Gym:
Basic Information:
Requirement to Challenge: Two pokemon
Prizes: Paradise Badge, A set of four custom pokeballs, and/or an Egg!
The Challenge: There are three challenges set by Gym Leader Ondura, a one on one battle with any one of her pokemon will get you the Paradise Badge if you win, then you must use your second pokemon in a one on one contest competition where you might recieve a useful set of pokeballs, and finally, you, the trainer, must take her breeding quiz. If you pass that you'll get an egg from Ondura based on your trainer's personality from their bio.
Contest Rules: You get five minutes to freshen up your contest pokemon in one of the breeding stalls, and then you must present that pokemon to the rest of the breeders in the gym's breeding parlor. The more detailed your post the higher your appearance score. Then you and Ondura will display moves in four appeal rounds, the effect scored just as they would be in the games. You can get 5 points for a good description, plus the points accumulated during the appeals round. If you get more than Ondura (she doesn't get more than 3 points in the appearance score, since the audience are so familiar with her pokemon by now) then you win.
The Quiz: Is an oral exam with different questions for every person, but you will receive 10 questions about breeding and egg lines. You need to get all 10 correct in order to receive the egg.
Arena: The gym is a square building which overlooks the lip of the volcano. The inside is basically a large sandbox, as most dragon eggs need to mature in hot sand. The left side of the arena is made out of private breeding booths, or the curtained off areas where breeders prepare their pokemon before displaying them. The right side is filled with seats for the audience of breeders.
Location: Paradise Breeding Gym is located at the edge of town, specifically the edge on the volcano. This building contains a square main building where the gym is located, and two side wings, which no one but the breeders are allowed into.
The Gym Leader:
Name: Ondura Pykasko
Age: 31
Appearance: Tall and calm, Ondura has black hair and olive colored skin, with gray green eyes. She generally wears blue and white, and likes small butterfly clips to hold up her hair. Her general attire consists of a blue wind breaker, jean shorts (it's very hot where she works) and a white cotton t-shirt.
Personality: Ondura is very calm and serene, however, ten years ago she was diagnosed with as a maniac-depressive. She takes medication to even out her emotions, which have given her a peaceful reputation. Before she was diagnosed Ondura was in the middle of a breakdown in her personal life, and a screaming crash in her professional one as a nurse in training. When she was put on medication she decided that in order to get a clean break she would take a year and go training. She was given a dratini by her then boyfriend and now husband, Mitchell Pykasko, and went on her way. She came back to Drake's landing an accomplished trainer, and took over the unofficial gym with great success. Ondura is very controled and always maintains a calm face, no matter what. It's well known that she doesn't get along with the younger Abersa's volatile temper. She's known for her talents with dratini and dragonair breeding, as well as her patient battle style, concentrating on defense, rather than offense.
The Pokemon:
Total: 6
Amount to Challenge: 2, one to fight, and one to contest against. You may choose whichever two you like, but specify which end of the challenge you want to face them on.
Pokemon:
Dratini
- Gender: Male
- Nickname: Rupert
- Level: 16
- Ability: Shed Skin
- Attacks: Leer, Acid Armor, Wrap, Aqua Tail
- Personality: Impertinent and rude, Rupert is just one of many dratini that are descended from Ondura's original dratini (now dragonite) Jessica. He has a complex about being thought of as special.
Shellos
- Gender: Female
- Nickname: Isabelle
- Level: 16
- Ability: Sticky Hold - Items cannot be detatched
- Attacks: Harden, Mud Sport, Water Pulse, Recover

Dratini
- Gender: Female
- Nickname: Betty
- Level: 16
- Ability: Shed Skin
- Attacks: Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Light Screen, Flamethrower
- Personality: Betty is the beauty of Ondura's gym team. She knows she's special, but despite having Flamethrower in her arsenal, Betty prefers to battle in the contests rather than in the arena. She just doesn't like physical aggression.
Gible
- Gender: Male
- Nickname: Peter
- Level: 16
- Ability: Sand Veil
- Attacks: Tackle, Sand Attack, Dragon Rage, Sandstorm
- Personality: Conservative and quiet, Peter doesn't approve of things out of place. The gym leader should never lose, and women should be in the kitchen, to his way of thinking. Bagon
- Gender: Male
- Nickname: Frank
- Level: 16
- Ability: Rock Head
- Attacks: Endure, Leer, Headbutt, Bite
- Personality: Sensible and solid, this little guy doesn't take guff from anyone. He relies on himself rather than Ondura to get him out of any scrapes, but this is out of bloody-minded self reliance, rather than a comment on Ondura as a trainer.
Horsea
- Gender: Male
- Nickname: Torrian
- Level: 16
- Ability: Swift Swim
- Attacks: Bubble, Bubblebeam, Smokescreen, Leer
- Personality: A space case, Torrian is easily distracted by his own bubbles. Ondura hopes that training in the gym will help get him a little more grounded.
The Breeders: The most famous breeders are the charmander breeders, and there are three (all triplets) who sell to outsiders. Other than that, there is an eccentric torkoal breeder on the edge of town, as well as a dratini breeder and a magikarp breeder near the vast town well. You may purchase the following:
The General Store: Located near the fire gym, you can buy pretty much all needed items for daily life here. As for trainers, their Pokemon-related section includes the following:
