Rii stopped, panting to rest her hands on her knees after carefully sitting Beau down. After getting out of sight of the woman she'd run, both because running was fun, and because the old lady had been slightly creepy.
Finally she managed to get enough breath to laugh, "I don't know why she made me frightened-anyways, she told me this was for you-but I guess you heard, huh?" She held the rare candy out to Beau, but the kakuna didn't make any move to take it.
How did kakuna eat anyways?
"Um. This is a problem." She knew next to nothing about how kakuna ate. Did they eat? "Please eat it?" She poked the kakuna with the rare candy in an attempt to get it to eat...
And for the next five minutes couldn't see anything but bright flashy lights.
Beau himself had felt the rare candy poke him, and he absorbed it. The amount of energy stored in that little piece of candy was amazing, and he ended up with a flash of light. It didn't blind /him/, but he did get to enjoy a good laugh at Rii's expense, as she fell backwards onto her back and kept remarking on the flashing lights. The creepy lady hadn't poisoned him or anything-he felt stronger in fact-and Rii didn't look half as frightening when she was on her back murmuring about green and yellow lights. Maybe life wasn't too bad.

((Whoo! Flashy lights! And since I've been obsessing over pokemon probabilities you got a randomly generated seedot ^^))
The flashy lights had stunned another inhabitant of Fog Path. The light was unexpected in this area of mists, and the small plant grumbled a bit as it trundled onto the sandy tanbark paving of the path. Wat was going on? All the pretty light was disturbing his early morning nap. He trotted over to he area to investigate.

((Ahahaha. And yay. I love seedot. Nuzleaf are so cool.
Hm. Rii seems to be collecting an odd group of pokemon. Seedot, until evolved, doesn't move very quickly. Kakuna doesn't. Shellder doesn't out of water. She has a slow team. And one dedicated more towards defense than attack. 0.o))
Rii, of course, couldn't see him directly although she was able to make out what she knew was there. Like Beau, even though there was an interesting green dot blotting out his upper half. "What the heck was that? Are you okay Beau? Were you supposed to explode with light?" Beau himself couldn't really tell her anything since kakuna didn't have very good body language, but Rii deducted he must be okay because he was staring at her with eyes that looked like he was laughing at her, he was making a funny noise that sounded like chuckling, and he was in one piece.
It took a few moments for Beau to notice the seedot, but when he did his shyness came over again and he stopped laughing. This succeeded in drawing a still-dazed Rii's attention towards it, but a rather insistent yellow dot refused to leave her vision, so all she got were a pair of tiny feet. By tilting her head back quite a ways the yellow dot moved enough for her to make out what type of pokemon it was.
"Oh!" She dug out Az's pokeball-before she ran into a complication. She wasn't so poke-ignorant to not know the common type matchups, and she knew for certain water wasn't good against grass. But the only other pokemon she had was Beau, who she had promised she wouldn't force to fight, and anyways, the kakuna only knew harden, which would hardly knock out the seedot.
So what to do? She guessed the best thing to do would be to determine if it knew any grass moves. Rii knew absolutely nothing about seedot, so she'd just have to hope for the best and send out Az. If it didn't know any yet, Az could probably beat it, but if it did...Well, she'd worry about that when it came.
"Alright Az, time for our first battle!" Releasing the pokemon she picked up Beau, "Here, I'll hold you so that you don't get caught up in the middle of it." It didn't even occur to her to return Beau to his pokeball. "Alright, prepare with a withdraw!"
Az blinked. What was going on? His trainer was yelling something about withdrawing-he guessed it couldn't hurt, so he clamped his shell down tight, and managed to glimpse the seedot before he was encased in darkness. He couldn't see why she was telling him to do this though, since the grass type didn't seem to have been attacking, and anyways, why not send out the kakuna? He'd have more fun. Az was actually getting pretty bored, already. Nothing had hit his shell-nevermind the fact it had only been a second since he'd shut it-and he had never been really fond of being clamped down.

The seedot stopped, staring at Az curiously. Okay, this was a shellder, and -- oh gosh! he was preparing for battle. This could get interesting. Not as interesting as flashy lights, but interesting. Oh, what should he do? What should he do? Perhaps -- well, yeah, he was going to use the ultimate bide technique!
He hunkered down, prepared to absorb any force from the attack that might be directed at him.

It could get interesting...
But it probably wouldn't.
Neither pokemon did anything but sit there. You could hardly bide your attack, when you weren't getting attacked, and being withdrawn, Az was hardly going to attack. It was almost as bad as a fight between two kakuna or something.
"Um." This wasn't getting anywhere, and Rii wasn't sure what to do next.
Az however, had gotten quite bored of staring at the inside of his shell, and it inched open as he forgot what he was supposed to be doing, and got more and more interested in watching the fog drift past.
Rii shrugged-She wasn't sure what the seedot was doing, being as she didn't really know it's moves, but she figured that since Az had stopped his withdraw attack-she'd have to talk to him later, but she wasn't really worried-Like she had said, she wasn't actually here because she was really serious about trianing, anyways, an attack was in order.
Not bubblebeam, since seedot was a grass type. "Alright Az, use tackle!"
"..."
"AZ!" When the shellder jumped and stared at her with a surprised expression she lowered her voice, and asked sweetly, "Mind using tackle now?"
Realizing he'd tuned her out, Az threw himself forward at the seedot, sighing. This was so boring. Anyways, it was hard. Why couldn't they be fighting in water? At least then he wouldn't have to spend so much energy moving.

The seedot was biding and biding. And nothing was happening! Oh, this was so frustrating... Grrrr. He let go of the bide, huffing out angrily. And was hit by the hard shellder shell as it bounced toward him. He stumbled , overbalanced, and rolled down the path a little way.
Angrily he heaved himself to his stubby feet. He must be particularly silly not to have seen that one coming. Charging back up the path, he confronted Azrag, this time deciding to get serious, and bide his time.

Rii was so confused! The seedot still hadn't done anything, and she couldn't figure out why! Maybe it was slow in the head or something...That only made her feel guilty for battling it, until she reasoned out that Az was practically as slow as the seedot, since he zoned out so much.
Such charitable thoughts.
"Try another-Az! Honestly...Az, try another tackle." Battling wasn't so boring one started to fall asleep in the middle of it, was it? Because it certainly appeared as if Az thought so.
Really, sleeping sounded very good right about now. Az wouldn't mind if Rii called out another withdraw. Suddenly the idea of clamping his shell down and going to sleep didn't sound so bad at all. How much fun was it to throw yourself at a biding seedot, anyways? Still, he did it. She /was/ his trainer, after all.
Beau sighed. Rii didn't get that the seedot was using bide, and the smartest-but slowest-method would be to do what she had accidentally done earlier, waiting until the seedot grew bored, and then nailing it. She was just going to hurt Az the way she was going about it. Well, at least it wasn't him.

The seedot rocked back, as he absorbed the impact of the tackle. Wow. That stung! The dark circles of eyes watered, even as he righted himself. He had gained a lot of energy, but he'd hold on a bit more. He could do it, and the shell thing wouldn't know what had hit it.

Jeez. The seedot still hadn't done anything. She was beginning to get suspicious of the little thing...Just what was it planning on doing, just sitting there...It had to be plotting something. Something evil, and ingenious, and sure to work. Being as she couldn't foil its plans, what with not knowing its plans and all. "Az, use withdraw...Withdraw!...WITHDRAW!" She needed to buy a microphone. This yelling so that he would tune back in to her commands was actually getting quite...annoying. And she didn't want to lose her voice.
Oh. Withdraw? Maybe Rii could read minds or something. Perfect time to take a nap. Snapping his shell shut he settled in for a nice, long...zzzzz....
Beau nestled in Rii's arms, and admitted it to himself. He may have absolutely no faith in Rii's ability to battle, but she sure did serve as a comfortable couch. As long as she held true to her promise and didn't try to train him...Well, he might be able to get along quite well with her. She was comfortable.

The seedot felt the glowing pride suffuse him. Yeah! He had made the shellder cower in fear at his might. Now was the time to attack, and repay all the pain! Yeah. yeah! The rather hyperactive seedot glowed slightly as he brought all of the physical energy he had absorbed to the fore, and then he charged at the shellder, whamming into him.

Az snapped his shell open as he was hit, rolling over a couple of times and being startled out of his doze with the painful attack. It hurt! Az had never been in a battle before, and he never wanted to be in one again-Battling hurt, was boring, and hurt!
"Ooooh!" Rii hugged Beau tightly, frightened that Az was seriously hurt. "Az! Az! Are you okay? Az!" Of course, it took forever for the shellder to finally respond to her, but he didn't seem all that much worse for wear when he did...In fact, she fancied he was in about the same shape as the seedot.
Beau twitched uncomfortably. She was hugging him hard. However, she seemed to realize this as he twitched, and she released her hold slightly. "Oh! Sorry Beau! Look Az, try another tackle! You can do it!"
Az didn't like battling at all. Not at all. But he still used tackle. Mostly because he had a spiteful side of his otherwise blank personality, and he wanted to pay the seedot back for hitting him.

Az slammed into the hard little body. The seedot rocked back, and then fell onto the ground. He rolled down the slight slope, but his progress was arrested by Az's shelled bulk. The shellder would probably feel his armor start to harden, as he had just defeated a pokemon of the same level, and therefore was gaining strength.
