Scarlet shrugs, and walks off into the chaos of Tortuga.

((What now?))
Captain Fox was now on the docks looking up at the full moon and all the stars in the sky... he closed his eyes and remembered the nights on his parents trading vessel, until they were attacked by Spanish pirates and in the end his parents were killed, he and ten others of the crew set adrift, and when they reached land, he had found out that the East Indian Company had taken financial control seeing how they thought the family was dead... didn't allow him to take back reigns of command due to being too young and not experienced enough...
He opened his eyes and looked out to sea, he would personally give the East Indian Company a taste of trouble while he was still alive.

"You feeling alright, Captain Fox?" Scarlet says, coming down the docks behind him.

Captain Fox turned around on a doubloon and looked at the other Captain. "Nothings wrong... just living in the past again... night like this remind me of the time my dad taught me navigation, and my mother taught me how to be respectable to women while in port... but also that women are not weak, boy she could really show a thing or two with her fists." he absently touched the Spanish sword while talking about his parents. "Spanish Pirates attacked... five years of training and preparing." he smiled as he looked now at the Sea Fox. "That there was the peak of my job... attacking Spanish Pirates... and a few merchants for the crown... then England and Spain became friends..." he shook his head. "They are fools to think Spain will not try to strange England out of the Caribbean." He had a strange look in his eye as if he could imagine Spanish soldiers around him, and he was going to take them all.

"We're pirates, Fox, personal vendetta's aside, we have no allegience to any nation other than the sea," Scarlete says.

Captain Fox only smirked. "Aye... that is why I am out here, to show England that they were wrong and I was right, they need more then one trading company out here, or the prices are controlled... not only that... I think that they might be concerned little about those out here... letting the East Indian Company take over like it is... it is not good business. I was once a Privateer, and who knows, if a new nation shows up... I might just join." he grinned big time. "Or I might just formalized Pirate territory so we are safe in those waters? What do you think... a place where other nations have pay money along with trades... and anyone that tries to ignore us... well, let's say they might want to build a lot of ships for guard duty." He was smiling a little more close to what a fox might look like when it is looking at all the future paths ahead of it, where he could slip by in the shadows and at the same time, gain fame.

"Maybe its time that the pirates had their own nation, their own laws, their own style of living," Scarlete says. "I remember when I once lived her on Tortuga, my mother was a prostitute sent here by the French, I never knew my father at all. When I turned 14, I was forced into prostitution, not something I'm proud of, but it first exposed me to pirates and their lifestyle. We're not just fighting for riches or anything like that, we're fighting for freedom, and that's something our enemies will never understand."

Captain Fox only smiled. "Yes... but sometimes, total freedom can be able to made you bound... I have seen men throw away fortunes so they could have a bottle near them. But yes, a place where we can have a free enterprise, and not a single place that ships to places... I agree, we need our own country. A place where we can sail and not be worried about capture... of course, our boundaries will grow sooner or later, because pirates always will want to roam around."
He smiled as he looked at the stars. "All I ever wanted was to use the stars to guide my way home from foreign lands and ports to a place I knew I could call home. I have something like that... but not what I had imagined. Maybe one day." He shook his head again before turning to face Captain Scarlet. "The night is late, and I must be off to bed if I am to get the best supplies in the morning." With that he walked off to his ship and walked up the gang-plank. Of course, the Sea Fox was tied to the Merchant ship... whose spoils were already divided among both ship crews... and the Man-Of-War... which he was hoping she didn't demand a portion of the loot, it was an unforeseen addition to his spoils.

"All right," Scarlet says, and walks up the gangplank to the Sinfull Lilith, and walks into the captain's cabin, and is soon fast asleep.

((I'll just move it to day now))
When the sun rose out of the Eastern ocean the dock was already bustling about with the noise of early commerce. People trying to sell honestly, others shadily, and others were just down right pickpocketing or selling Snake oils.
Captain Fox was walking around the market, a firm hand on both his sword, and money bag. He was so far finding enough fresh water, some fresh fruits, along with salted meats and a little bit of rum for his men. He knew that he would also be buying supplies for his other ships... he had a lot of mouths to feed till he got to his small base of operations.
He had released a third of his prisoners because they were married or had kids they were taking care of... of course all that they had seen or heard were lies that would never come back to him... five years he had been letting family men go, and not yet has a royal navy man stopped him... or at least pinned anything on him.
((I am taking a small piece of fiction I took from Sid Myers Pirates when reading the back, you can build Island bases were you could build or repair ships... keep an economy somewhat, grow food, and also, some have started families.))

Somewhere under the surface of the ocean, a great beast stirs, something had called a monster up from its depths as it drew closer and closer to a spot on the surface.
A ship, just to the north of Tortuga is going towards the island, flying Spanish colors. It is a pirate hunter, sent to deal with the pirates living on Tortuga, it is this ship that has attracted the attention of a monster. The initial attack takes all of two minutes, there is a jolt as if the ship had run aground, and then something comes bursting out of the deck, a huge set of jaws, biting as the ship is broken in half as a huge shark devours its crew.
From the Sinfull Lilith, Scarlet watches the carnage through her spyglass, and laughs. Fool, no hunter can best the devil's servant, the world will never know what happened here, and it is best that neither does the pirates, she thinks.

Captain Fox was finishing up purchases and was now heading back to his ship, a smile on his face as he knew that he would get resupplied, but not before the tide would be against him, he would have to spend another infernal night here. He soon reached his ship and was smiling even more in the noon day sun, some of the supplies were already being loaded, and yet, still more was coming he had payed right on the spot for all his stuff, he had to stock now two ships with supplies, food to be split between three ships... he loved it, he was creating a wonderful business now. Albeit, one that worked in the shadows a little.

Captain Fox looked up to see Scarlet leaning over a little of her ship. "Yes, In fact I was out resupplying my ship... I should be ready to leave by tomorrow's high tide if all goes well." He was looking forward to returning home after a successful mission.

"Alright," Scarlet says. "Captain, tell me, have you ever heard the stories of the beast that roams the seas in the devil's name?"

Captain Fox looked at her strangely. "Under Davy Jones command or not? I have heard many tales of sea monsters and biddings for devils and what not." He had sailed all over and so he needed a little more information to narrow it down more.

"Not all sea monsters serve Davy Jones," Scarlet says. "There is talk among pirates that sometimes navy ships and pirate hunters are attacked by a creature that lets out an eerie, almost unearthly glow. They describe a giant animal, a shark they believe, with a large enough jaw to devour a man in a single bite, and can bring a ship tot he bottom of the sea in minutes. They even say that the beast serves Satan himself, bound to do Hell's bidding for eternity."

Captain Fox looked at her. "I believe that their are creatures out there that could do that... But, why does it prey only on those ships and not others? How would it know, what is a Pirate ship, and not a Pirate ship?"

"I don't know, but I do have this to say, I'm glad the beast is on our side," Scarlet says. "A beast like that would have to have a master in order for it to only attack certain ships."

Captain Fox shuddered. "I would really dislike to cross who ever controls that monster." He then shook his head and looked back... "No, no, no... you have it all wrong, the net goes the other way." He returns to making sure that he loses not one piece of cargo in the transfer from shore to ship.
