Aye, 'tis time to make an RP about the infamous scourge of the seas, the pirate.
This will not be based off of Pirates of the Carribean however, this will take place back in the golden age of piracy. Anyone is welcomed to join this rp, but you may only join as a pirate, male or female.
The rp will outline life on board a pirate ship, and there will be honorable mention of some of the greatest pirates to ever live.
You can have your own ship, be a captain, boatswain, first mate, crewmember, cook, surgeon, anything of the sort.
But be warned, the pirates here do live by an honor code, in addition to any rp rules, your carachters must abide by these rules:
1. Never harm a member of the clergy. 2. A married man must never be forced into piracy. 3. All prizes and treasure must be equaly split among the crew. 4. Changes in captains must be agreed on by the crew. 5. Never surrender to the enemy, retreat is an option. 6. A pirate that kills a fellow pirate on the same ship will be thrown to sea with the body.
If you want to join, use this profile:
Name: Age: Ship: History: Rank: Apperance: Personality:
And my carachter...
Name: Scarlet Morrison Age: 25 Ship: Sinfull Lilith History: Not much of a history to tell, she was raised on Tortuga, a well-loved prostitute that enjoyed consorting with the pirates and hearing of their adventures. They say she was a favorite of the legendary Blackbeard. Now she's got a mind to go a pirating, has a ship, a crew, and is ready to wage war on the world. Rank: Captain Apperance: An attractive young woman, standing at least at 6 foot four inches, with dark brown hair that is tied into a braid, and piercing blue eyes. She always wears a black hat, and a dingy coat, a white shirt, and black pants. She has two swords on her at all times, being slightly longer than the typical pirate cutlass, and a pistol or two is usualy found at her belt. Personality: A shrewd woman, this lady pirate gives no mercy to her enemies, and the only justice she deals to them is with sword and musket. However, off her ship she is known as a respectable lady, and is commonly a dinner guest in the courts of the governors of the American colonies.

Name: Garret Anthony "Fox Captain" Age: 36 Ship: Sea Fox History: Mr. Anthony comes from what was once a wealthy English family, but because of Spanish piracy and attacks, he lost a lot to the Spanish, he sails under a British flag, being a privateer for the British crown until rules stamped him to be a common Pirate, he almost lost his life due to this, and has now cut ties with all but the fledgling American Colonies which he helps in their return of keeping him a secret from British navel vessels. He has been known to fly different nationalities depending on his travels and he has boosted to having sailed past Singapore many times. Rank: Captain Apperance: Captain Garret Anthony stand at six foot even, and wears the regal clothing of a British Navy Captain... when he is hiding from authorities. When pirating against those that he feels has wronged him, he wears brown leather seamen boots, brown legging with a cotton dirty white shirt with a large Spanish Captain's coat he relieved off one of his earlier attacks. On his head is a tricorner hat black in color with a blue bandanna underneath the hat. He wears glasses as well. At his side is a Spanish Captain's sword that is another of his spoils, Or if he is impersonating as a British officer, he carries a sword gifted to him for his time in attacking Spanish ships. and two flint lock pistols stuck into his belt. He also has a few knives hidden in his boots. Personality: When it comes to colonists or women, he is a British gentlemen, when it comes to a Spanish ship, he is as savage as a hunting dog or a pack of wolves. Yet, like the name of his ship implies, he is a cunning man, and able to slip through many a traps. In fact in some circles he is nicknamed the Fox Captain. Flag: It has a black background with a white fox design on it... under it paws is a cutlass lying so it would seem that the fox was trotting on the edge of the sword towards the handle.

I wanted to be a mere cleaning-person in one of your ships..But it just looks alot more fun to be a captain. XP Tell me if something needs to be changed.
Name: Ernesto Frederic Marti
Age: 26
Ship: Scylla
History: The Scylla, a sacred and beautiful ship once stolen from the Greeks by a family of pirates known as the Martis (Well, not exactly a family since most pirates don`t get married but you get the point.). The ship was then passed from generation to generation and was given to the eldest child of the Marti family. Unfortunately, a time came when the sacred ship was handed over to Ernesto Marti. As his name suggests, he was from the Caribbeans and was very popular for being a very lazy, good for nothing, laid back pirate, who did nothing but snooze and punished the person who woke him up unless him or her had a good reason to. Not to mention, he was a big time womanizer.
Rank: Captain
Appereance: He appears to have a quite messy appereance. He has chocolate brown hair that is always ruffled and is spiked up in all directions. He has slightly tanned skin and has light brown eyes to go with. He wears black pants with chains and dark brown belts hanging from everywhere. He wears a pair of white long-sleeves shirt (The only thing clean in his attire. And the two buttons on top of the shirt are always unbottoned.) mostly covered by a tight long camel colored - pirate like coat that extends till his knees. He wears a pair of black Wellington boots and a spiral shaped pendant (Which is made out a of precious and priceless stone.) hangs from his neck.
Weapon of choice: He has a large sack like bottle full of wine that has a strap, which he hangs from his shoulder. Which oddly never seems to be empty. Ever. Ernesto prefers to fight by hand and use his Drunken Monkey fighting style by drinking the wine. Although when the situation is up for it, his weapon of choice is an executioner`s kris, It has a long, straight, slender blade. And it kills easily too.
Personality: As suggested by his history, Ernesto is quite laid back and uncaring. He likes to make jokes no matter how serious the situation may be and always finds a way out of sticky situations. A total woamnizer but is a loyal friend if given a chance to be. Although he may seem stupid and useless at times, he usually ends up outsmarting everyone since the whole dumb thing is an act and this person is actually cunning.
Flag: A small flag with blue and green on each side of the background and a skinny white spiral in the middle, which is sliightly covering both of the colors in the background. What this flag means? no one really knows. Everyone just decided that it had something to do with the sea.

(Alright, lets begin, still accepting carachters.)
Somewhere in the carribean, a merchant ship flying the flag of the East India Trading Company sails on a course towards Bermuda.
"Captain, we've had smooth sailing since we left, I thought you where sure that pirates would attack us on this voyage, and yet we haven't been challenged since leaving the Canary Islands," a brittish navy soldier says to the captain, a scraggly old man.
"Aye, maybe it was just my imagination," the captain admits.
"Captain, there's a ship off of our port side!" A sailor shouts.
"Blast it all," the captain says, taking out a spyglass, and focusing on the ship. Flying from its mast is a black flag. "Blast it all, Pirates!"
"That's no ordinary pirate ship, that's the Sinfull Lilith," another sailor says in fear. "I've heard stories, she's said to be the most feared pirate ship in the carribean."
"Raise sail, we have to try and outrun her!" the captain starts to order, but the Navy Officer stops him.
"We can't outrun the likes of her, we must prepare for battle," the officer says. "The Lilith is too fast for even us."

However coming in on their starboard side was what looked to be a lone British two deck cannon ship. Flying the Royal Navy flag. Of course when the ship's captain spotted the merchant ship, he right away changed course.
"Sir," One of the merchant ship's deck hands shouted. "We have a British warship coming up... Were saved."
Of course on board the said ship, a man dressed in the cloths of a British Captain looked on, smiling, he had yet to notice the other Pirate ship on the other side of the merchant ship, but that soon changed as signal flags told of the situation.
Captain Fox's face grew dark. "So... I have some competition this time..." He turned around to the helmsman. "Helm, bring us around back, I want to find out who our guest is this time around, who knows, we may be able to split the loot fifty fifty." He however knew that at the moment, he would have to play the role of a concerned British Captain. He loved playing Fox and Mice as he called it.

"Captain, captain!" cried one of the deckers (That's what they're called, right? The workers people on the ship. XD) on the ship. The captain of the humongus ship, who was slumbering as usual in his own big and luxirious cabin needed some pulling and screaming on to wake him up.
After thirty minutes or so of doing so, the stubborn pirate finally decided to wake up and immediately casted a glare at the decker with sleepy eyes as he scratched his head and slightly streched his arms to an extent. "Aye, what is it? This better be good. Gar, Where can I find a bottle o'rum?" said the pirate sleepily as stood up and wore his favorite (and only) coat on.
"Captain, there seems to be a couple o'ships ahead. And they don't look too friendly." said the decker with a worried glance at his captain, who casually moved forward to get a closer look at the decker, not at all, reacting by the news. "Aye, so? Just change the direction o' the ship or somethin'."
"Er, we can't captain...We're kind of in between those both ships. You were sleeping...And-" said the decker with hesitation, stepping back a little since he was afraid of what the captain's reaction might be but instead of continuing, he decided to stand silently. Surprisingly the young pirate just smirked in return. "Aye, me see...This will be intrestin'. Let's go out and check this out. Follow me." said the pirate in his command voice and walked out of the room motioning the decker to follow, which the decker did. With a confused expression on his face.

The crew is working buisily on deck of the pirate ship Sinfull Lilith, its black flag with the white image of a female pirate embracing the devil waving high above their heads as a crewmember runs up the stairs to the starboard side, where the captain is looking through a spyglass at the merchant vessel.
"Captain, we've spotted two more vessels approaching!" A crewmember shouts, running up to the captain.
"What colors?" A feminine voice asks.
"Pirate by the looks of them," the crewmember says.
"Keep on course for the merchant vessel, if they want to interfere, sink them, no one takes Captain Scarlet Morrison's prize and lives to tell the tail!" the captain shouts, and the crewmember scurries away. "Raise sails, and prepare for battle!" She shouts to the crew, seeing the merchant vessel's cannons. Blast it all, they where ready for us! she thinks.

The Two deck gallon suddenly sailed around the stern of the vessel, Captain Fox was hoping to scare the Pirate away from his prize, he wanted the vessel intact, after all, if he was building his own fleet to strangle the Spanish trade route... and he needed ships for that. The Royal Navy flag flapped in the breeze above the crows nest while white sails billowed in the wind, cutting the water like a hot knife through butter.
The name on the ship read Endeavor However, no one could tell it was a only a sign covering up the real name of the ship. A trick that Captain Fox used a lot on the high seas.
((I would assume that Pirates can be cunning and this would happen at least once.))

"Fire a warning shot, if they raise colors, open fire on them!" Captain Scarlet shouts, and a cannon is fired that grazes Fox's ship.

The enormus beautifully made ship, Scylla had started to turn around and go further away from the ships without a sound. Inside the ship, one of the deckers had approched their captain. "We saw from the the spyglass...One of the ship there is titled Endeavor and this other one, well, we don't exactly know the name but we're guessing the captain there is a lady."
"Endeavor!? What kind o' name is tha - Uh, a lady pirate you say?" said the pirate interrupted by his thoughts as he scratched his chain. "This is goin' to be one intrestin' day..."

Captain Fox frowned at them. "So... trying to scare a fox eh?" He then smirked. "Get the small port cannons set up, warn them away..." He then looked at one of his deck hands. "Okay, you are good with a bow and arrow, send over my calling card on an arrow, maybe that can scare them. Or at least make them leave." He smiled, as the Archer got below deck and came up carrying arrows and a bow... used in just a case like this... so he could contact other pirates, it would be bad to be sunk by another pirate while in the guise of a British battleship.
The archer fitted his arrow and notched it. Just as the bow cannon was fired, it sailed over the bow of the ship, causing some men most likely to duck, and then the arrow was fired, burying itself into the railing of the bow.
The arrow had a parchment wrapped around it, with a black drawing of a fox running across a cutlass towards the hilt. That was all that was on the parchment.
To the merchant ship, it looked to them that the Battle ship was trying to get into a spot that could battle the other ship. Not know the trickery that was happening.
((What is the armanment of your ship? You forgot the most important part of a sea battle, the size of the ship, and how many guns are on it.))

(Its a captured Man-of-War, a battleship, making it a rather large ship with probably at least 50 cannons, 25 on each side, maybe more just making this up as I go.)
Scarlet glances at the parchment, and grins, stepping up towards the railing of her ship, she gives Fox a tip of her black hat, and notices that the merchantship, while having its guns at the ready, hadn't made a move. Merchantships, even if armed, didn't have enough firepower to take down a Man-of-War, and she draws one of her swords as the Sinfull Lilith is in position to attack the merchant ship. "FIRE!" She shouts, and 25 cannons on the starboard side fire at once, taking the merchant ship by suprise.

Captain Fox looked upset. She nearly opened up a hole in his own ship, he was trying to capture the ship... not sink it.
He looked at the Captain of the Sinfull Lilith. He was now going to one day personally try and damage her ship personally. Of course, by then he had slipped inbetween the two ship.
He looked at his archer. "Send them the terms of splitting the loot. It seems that they were faster then I thought."
The archer nodded his head and notched another arrow, this time in bedding the arrow into the main mast of the ship. He banked that the captain could read a little.
On it, it showed a ship, and a stick person with the number fifty next to a gold coin. All next to the same image that came before.
There was Fifty next to a coin next to her flag symbol... Captain Fox hoped that she got the message. He wanted the ship and crew, and fifty percent of the cargo, she could have the rest of the cargo.
"Look out... Fly our true fur. Let's show them who the fox is." He seemed happy at this and right away, the Royal Navy flag was taken down, and then... The Gray Fox's true flag was unfurled.
The crew on the merchant ship did just what Captain Fox thought, they were stunned. He boarding party then swung over to the ship and began to take the ship over.

The Lilith's cannons hadn't been fired to sink the ship, the pirate's cannons had been fired to disable the ship, but not beyond repair, snapping the front mast, and maybe blowing a few holes, but not enough to sink her.
Scarlet had understood the message perfectly, but something else worried her as she surveyed the scene with her spyglass, and slams it shut, giving an order to fire an arrow with a message that shows a huge ship with the brittish flag.
A brittish navy ship was coming.

Captain Fox understood right away the message. "You over there, get that ship secured."
He then turned to look at the other ship. He then had one final message sent, over to the other ship. It had the picture of a tombstone, only with the words HA HA HA over it... he hoped she got it to mean to play dead. He really couldn't risk yelling or the wind could carry his voice.
But he did signal the the Look out to change flags only to see that he had seen the risk already and done so... Time to see if he still could out fox the old British fools again.
He knew he lived in a web of lies and falsehoods, but he needed to do so, to see his revenge carried out fully.

Realizing that battling a brittish Man-of-War outright would be suicide, Scarlet had a good idea of what the message would mean. At that moment, a secret order was passed through the crew, it was time to fool the Brittish again.
Another message was sent to Fox, this one just with two words "Good Luck," and if anyone was to look at the Sinfull Lilith at that point, it would look like an abandoned ship, not a soul on board.
The ruse had begun.

By that time, the crew of the merchant vessel was also in the brig... however they were wondering what could be explained about the damage on the Merchant Ship.
Captain Fox knew that it would be tough... but maybe explain that they found this abandoned ship and it's cannon's went off by accident, a booby trap most likely to try and sink the ship that was trying to steal it.
By this time the British vessel had come within range to send a message.
((Who should try and be the British man of war?))

(I'll deal with it.)
Captain Johnathan Westler of the Brittish Royal Navy, a man in his 30's decked out in the uniform of the Royal Navy and wearing a white wig, observed the seemingly abandoned pirate ship through a spyglass. "Its the Lilith all right, lousy pirates must've abandoned her recently. Helmsman, get us closer!" He commands, and within minutes, the Brittish Man of War had layed anchor near the pirate ships and ruined merchantship.
Westler and parts of the crew took a boat over to the merchantship, swords and pistols drawn as they reached the deck, not sure what to expect.

Captain Fox or Captain Samuel H. Wells stood on the deck of the merchant ship, on the other side of the Merchant was the British Frigate Endeavor. He looked at the men coming aboard. "Hello Captain, A fine mystery we have stumbled across, it seems that the pirate ship was abandoned, the merchant ship, seeing salvagable trade goods I think tried to take the cargo... and in doing so, set off a booby trap... some of the cannons fired and they thought they were damaged, so they abandoned ship." He was trying to explain why the only people on the deck of the merchant ship were dressed in Royal Navy uniforms.
Of course, the real crew were in the brig of the Sea Fox, but the long boat was missing from it moorings. He was smiling grimly. "So... what news can you tell me while we stew over this mystery... I mean, we can't be standing on a ghost ship now can we?"
While he was talking, his men, were planning on a way to maybe get the Man of War without firing a shot, then they could just leave the Merchant ship, with an empty hold and let it sail adrift or something.
