((Nyaa-Neko needs to get over her obsession with a number generator...oh, and I may use the region in a fanfic I'm working on, same with some of the Pokemon that may or may not show up. But don't worry, if I ever write it in a fanfic, it will take place, at the very least, a decade or so earlier. And that's just for the meta part of it.))
Pokemon Roulette: A new game has started up in a private region, Suna. It is a fair sized, desert-type island with a similar environment to Orre, and without many native species of Pokemon. The game is, at its core, a battling game...or is it a survivor game?
Once you register, you go to Suna's port, one of the few places where lush vegetation grows in abundance and without human or Pokemon intervention. Once there, you will gather in the Roulette Hall, and be formed into teams. Each team has one objective - to travel to each of the seven other Roulette Halls at each checkpoint, collect the item, at make it back to the original Roulette Hall at the port before the other teams.
The catch...well, you don't use your own Pokemon.
At the first Roulette Hall, you leave your Pokemon, your clothes (don't worry, you get a uniform), and all your items behind. Don't worry, the Port Roulette Hall staff make it their primary objective to keep all your belongings safe and your Pokemon healthy. Once you get your uniform and pack, you gather at the Roulette. Spin the roulette...and it will land on a number. That number corresponds to a Pokemon, and you will receive that Pokemon for use until you reach the next Roulette Hall. Once there, you trade in your Pokemon for another Pokemon, randomly spun, and so on.
On the way across the desert region, you will meet both other challenger teams as well as staff teams...both which you will have to defeat. If all Pokemon on your team are defeated, you are sent back to your previous Roulette Hall to heal them. And be careful...some wild Pokemon were set loose on the island as well, and while you cannot catch them, they will try to defeat you and send you back.
Oh, and one more thing...
There have been sightings of strange Pokemon on the island. Pokemon Roulette staff assures you that these are false, or merely normal Pokemon mistaken for something else. All of Suna's native Pokemon are extinct, and the seven checkpoints are remnants of seven abandoned cities. Nothing, we repeat, nothing from the original region remains.
Pokemon Roulette is currently about to open its first game. Would you like to be a part of it? As long as you are ten years of age or older, a resident in any United Pokemon League region, and have a waiver signed by your doctor, you may apply to participate by filling out the form below. We wish you the best of luck!
Name: Age: must be ten years of age or older Hometown: must be in a approved region (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, or subregion of them) Phsyical description: must be healthy Personality: must be able to cooperate with others History:
---
Alyssa grinned as she read through the paper posted on the Fallarbor Town Pokemon Center bulletin board. She'd been looking for some sort of adventure to take her mind off of all that happened in her family...
She tore off one of the forms, and sat down on one of the couches with a pen to fill it out.
Name: Alyssa Koneko Age: 20 Hometown: Fallarbor Town, Hoenn Phsyical description: 5' 8" tall, half Asian, half Caucasian. Dyed pink hair tied in two low ponytails that go halfway down back. Dark brown eyes. Sort of slender, muscular (from traveling on foot). Usually wears a thin-strapped pink dress over light-blue jeans, sneakers, and a purple jacket if cold. Wears contacts. Personality: Usually pretty cooperative, cheerful, optimistic. Sarcastic at times, and violent, short-tempered, and cranky when tired. Usually prefers to work in a group as opposed to alone. History: Traveled in Johto for a little while at around thirteen before switching to a private region (Kyak Islands) at sixteen. Then moved to Goldenrod City to deal with a large outbreak of radio wave-induced Pokemon at seventeen, and moved to Viridian City with the same people to train. Fell ill around eighteen, and lost memory from eighteen until twenty. Traveled back to Kyak Islands at twenty to find all Pokemon gone and younger sister missing. Currently takes care of her younger sister's only Pokemon to survive, a torchic, and lives with parents in Fallarbor Town.
Sighing sadly, she inwardly cursed the Pokemon Roulette people for wanting to know her history (and in such a small space!). Looking down at the sickly torchic beside her, she smiled sadly.
"Hope, it'll be okay," Alyssa crooned, smoothing out the bird's feathers. She received a weak peep from the fire-type, before she broke into coughing fits. The young woman reached down to the inhaler around her sister's Pokemon's neck, and held it up for Hope to breathe through.
((Yar, Alyssa in a nutshell. @_@ Alyssa is the second character I ever used...so she's kinda special to me. I'd use Trisa, but I killed her off (kinda sorta). -_- There's waaaaay more to Alyssa than what I put on my form, but oh well. It won't affect the story.
So yeah, fill out the form. The people who RP in this will all be on the same team, so no defecting. And yeah, those Pokemon who the staff say don't exist anymore are probably going to show up (if I create enough of them).
So please join. Once everybody joins, I'll start the RP in the Port Roulette Hall.))

(I hope this doesn't cause some sort of temporal distortion...)
Lawrance looked over the paper posted on the bulletin board in the Pokèmon Center in Fallarbor Town. He grabbed a form and took a seat on the bench nearby to fill out the sheet.
Name: Lawrance Govan Age: 27 Hometown: Goldenrod, Jhoto Physical decription: 6' 3" tall, somewhat lanky. Hair dyed yellow and black, purple contacts. Wears a yellow and black shirt long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and green running shoes. Personality: Kind, caring, and won't stand to lose. Prefers bugs to most other types. Works well with others usually, but has moments of unwillingness to cooperate. History: Trained with Whitney in Goldenrod before traveling to a region unknown to the people in Jhoto. Left the region after becoming the champion and headed off to a recently descovered region to open a Gym. Currently having bouts with the Elites of that Region to get a Gym for Bug-types.
Once done, he looked it over, grinning. He was currently fighting with the Elites in Chelzin to have his Gym opened, but that doesn't mean he can't have some fun, does it?
(Yeah, I cracked... I had to get that out...)

Matthew Hamlet was looking at the application form in his lap, a leather bound journal in his lap acting as a writing pad. His handwriting was neat and very easy to read, as well as at the same time, heralding back to a time when the written word was as much an art-form as a way to communicate.
Name: Matthew Hamlet Age: must be ten years of age or older. 21 Hometown: Kanto (Mt. Moon region) Physical description: must be healthy. Matthew looked at the requirement given before shrugging. stands about 6' 6'' Yet looks taller due to being a little too skinny, wears usually a red faded cloth cap, dating back to when Grandfather was a Teenager. wears gold rim glasses, and worn in tennis shoes. Eyes are blue, and Caucasian. Also, Male. Personality: Fun loving, yet can become serious if someone insults Legendaries. Also, is known to think through problems and study maps, if lost will ask for directions. History: Here Matthew Hamlet looked at the sheet of paper and then flipped it over and looked a little worried, they wanted his history? He smiled at the thought of sending them an edited version of his journal and thoughts. But instead he wrote thus.
Matthew Hamlet was born into the home of Rebeca and Nathan Hamlet, with Nathan's grandfather living with them. Matthew grew up happy, and in a loving home, except for when he turned ten, it was then that he began to notice the struggle in the family about teaching. His Grandfather wanted to teach about Legendaries. His Aunt, who visited at least a week every two months wanted to teach about anything but Pokemon Training, and his father, he wanted to teach about Pokemon Training, and that the Legendaries were just myths, or over hyped Pokemon. Matthew picked to learn from his Grandfather.
Matthew as age eleven went off on his Pokemon journey and promptly halfway through the year, Team Rocket attacked his small home in the base region of the Mt. Moon region, leaving his Grandfather sick and crippled. He took the rest of the year or session off and cared for his grandfather for the next two years, after his death, he went to the one region that was close and dear to his grandfather, a region not known to many Kanto natives. The Region of Delmara. Of course after a successful time there, as well as fun. He is now looking forward to another adventure to add to his life story.
Matthew Hamlet looked at the sheet and forum and smiled. He liked it, it was somewhat short and he knew that his past was more complicated. But he was satisfied in what he had written. He got up, addressed it, leaving the return address as the Pokemon Center in Goldenrod City Jhoto.

((Yay, two people! And hahah, Matthew would be the perfect Traditionalist if he lived a few thousand years ago in Suna. X3 Maybe I could work that in somehow...
Anyways, I'll wait for another person or two, and then we can get started. If somebody wants to join in later, I'll figure out some way...))

Alyssa held Hope close as she got off the boat with the other contestants. She was so excited, though a little worried...
"Hope, you have your inhaler, right?" An affirmative peep. "And you know to ask for help if your legs get too weak, right?" Peep. Cough. A breath from the inhaler. "And you know to make sure to TELL the staff about your condition, right?" An annoyed peep. "And-"
Hope pecked Alyssa's hand, elliciting a scream from the young woman. She wasn't a baby anymore, she knew how to take care of herself. Sure, she couldn't walk a whole lot and had a bad case of asthma, but she wasn't a BABY!
Rubbing her hand, Alyssa followed the masses into the Port Roulette Hall. Once she handed over her acceptance letter, waiver, and identification, a staff member handed her a slip of paper.
"'Bug Team'," she read, raising an eyebrow. "That's...um...good?"
Another boy gave a whoop as he rushed over to one of the meetingplaces for the teams. "Yeah! Dragon Team! Dragon Team!" He cheered as he ran to his fellow teammates. Alyssa rolled her eyes. It was just a name.
She found the room with the sign that had her team name, and stepped inside. There were two staff members, dressed in a uniform of tan slacks and a white shirt. A woman greeted Alyssa. "Hello, you must be Alyssa. You're the first one here." She handed Alyssa a package of clothing. "This is your uniform. You can change into it in that changing room while you wait for the others."
Alyssa nodded, and slipped into a small changing room. After slipping off her dress and jeans, she tugged on the uniform - it was a little tight. It consisted of a light green short-sleeved shirt, blue-green shorts, white socks, sneakers, and a blue-green backpack. Inside the backpack were two Potions, one Burn Heal, and one Antidote. That's not much, she noted silently, before checking the other supplies. The rest of the items were more useful, such as water and food (in case of emergencies), a lot of sun screen, and a few other needed items.
She stepped lightly out of the room, giving her old clothes and pack to the same woman who gave her the uniform. The other sttaff member, a young man, held out his hands. "I need to take your Pokemon," he explained, smiling at Hope. "Is she all?"
"Yeah," Alyssa said, patting her sister's old Pokemon on the head. "She's my only one." She then gave him Hope's Pokeball, as well as a description of her medical condition from her veterinarian. She placed Hope on the counter next to the man. "See ya later, Hope," she whispered, receiving a happy peep.
She then leaned against the wall, waiting for her other teammates.
((So yeah, your posts don't have to be as long...just come in, get the uniform (yours will be the same as Alyssa's, it's the same for boys and girls), give your stuff and Pokemon to the people...and then we'll get started with the first Pokemon Roulette spin!))

Lawrance stepped off the boat with the other contestants. It felt weird being able to see over most everyone's heads... He was followed by a Butterfree, a Venomoth, a Beedril, a Dustox, and a Beautiflyl.
"Well, we're here..." he commented. His Pokèmon looked around and decided it was best to stick close to their trainer. "Come on, let's get registered."
He walked into the Port Roulette Hall. A staff member greeted him inside and he gave all the needed information to her, and was given a slip.
"Bug Team, eh..." he stated as he strolled off toward the room with Bug Team's sign. Upon entering the building he spotted another trainer and two staff members. "Looks like someone beat me here."
He was almost imediatly given his uniform and supplies and shoved into a dressing room. Sure, he'd been used to this treatment (the Chelzin Elite aren't the nicest of people...), but he'd hoped it wouldn't happen beyond the Chelzin borders.
Lawrance changed into his uniform and check the supplies. A couple potions, some stat-healing items, food, water.
"This'll work just fine..." he muttered. before he left the dressing room. He handed over his old clothes and his five Pokèmon, who lacked Pokèballs. "Should anything happen to any of my Pokèmon, I will personally see to it that you pay dearly for it."

Matthew Hamlet soon entered the building, a camera around his neck and a small brown pouch at his side, he had just placed a film canister into the brown pouch and it seemed that he had also placed a new roll of film into the camera.
He moved up in the line and soon he was given in exchange for all of the legal papers, which in his pack he retained copies for file reasons, he now had a piece of paper, "Bug?" He spoke silently to himself, an amused smile on his face. He then began to move to the door that was marked for the team members of Team Bug. Or that was what he thought to himself. "So... this is Legendary humor again... I get one of the few types that mankind has yet to find a Legendary to fit into." He laughed then, and to people around him, it looked like he was slightly insane.
He soon reached the room and inside he found a man and women, most likely part of the staff. The man came up to him and smiled. "Okay, here is your uniform and there is a changing room." Matthew only nodded his head and not saying walked over to the changing room. Entered it and then, changed into the Light Green Short sleeved shirt, blue-green shorts, along with white socks and sneakers... which he mused where newer looking then his own pair.
He looked inside the pack and saw that it contained little supplies, but then again, most starting people started out with little to nothing. He then exited the room wearing still his Camera and brown pouch of film. The Man looked at him and only pointed at the pouch. "Sorry, but that has to be handed over."
Matthew only looked at him and smiled. "Sorry, but I rather keep my camera film separate... unless you have a green pouch that I am willing to use for the time being." All he got was a steely glare. But Matthew didn't budge. He had one other aspect that he had alluded to, that of sometimes being a stubborn person, of course being a Pokemon Trainer, who wouldn't be a little stubborn?
It was the women that intervened, she had left the room and throw what had to be at one time a mismatched berry bag, green in color but from what was most likely a destroyed pack, Matthew thought at seeing the tear that was patched up. He smiled and bowed his head. "Thank you." He then in front of them transfered his film from one pouch to another.
He then looked at the two people giving them his belt. "Be nice to them, I already explained to them what is happening, some of them will be a tad upset, but be sure to place my cap, which is in my pack on something to act like a pertch, my Murkrow won't roost anywhere else, oh, keep her and my Fearow out at the same time... rather touchy about who is out when... other then that... they should be fine, unless you have people scared of Ninetales." He smiled a toothy smile.
He then looked each one in the eye and asked rather airily, "Is it alright to bring a journal? So I can record my thoughts of the day and skecth a little?"
The man and women looked at each other, they had had some strange requests, but this one... they only shrugged. The man spoke, "As long as it give no advantage to your pokemon, it is to be totally fair."
At his sentence Matthew pulled out a leather bound journal and flipped the pages, just to show that it had now secret compartments and what-not. "There, see, nothing out of the ordinary... well, the fact that it is leather is strange to you... but not to me."
They only rolled their eyes and pointed to a wall where another women, dressed in the same uniform had been standing, or leaning against the wall without him noticing. He walked over and smiled to her. "Chatty folks no? The Names' Matthew." At this introduction he extended his hand in greetings.

((Okay, for this part, I need to auto everybody's characters...I need to do it for every roulette spin. Sorry. -_-;; ))
Alyssa grinned at the stubborn photographer-slash-journal keeper. She began to bow, then stopped, and held out her hand to shake. "Sorry, I'm used to bowing," she chuckled. "My name's Alyssa Koneko. Nice to meet you, Matthew." She looked down at her clothing, then fingered her pink hair. "Ewww, it clashes really badly."
The staff members nodded to each other. The woman took a step out, and the man grabbed the roulette. It was a large wheel, lying horizontally on a large table. Each groove was a different shade color, and they all had a number.
The woman waved a hand toward it as she began to explain. "Alright, each of you need to spin the roulette, and that will determine the Pokemon you get for the first part of the game. Spin one at a time, and no touching it once you let go. No switching Pokemon with each other or any other teams, if you do, you will be disqualified."
Her fellow staff member nodded towards Alyssa. "Ladies first," he grinned, beckoning her over to the table.
Alyssa walked over to the table, and grasped the handle of the roulette. I hope I get a good one... She whipped her hand around, and watched it spin. The clicks as the pointer hit each groove grew farther and farther apart as it slowed down...and it finally landed on 323.
"Three hundred twenty three," the man read, looking through his book. "That number corresponds to Camerupt. The first round of the game only deals with base forms, so we're going to have to give you a Numel. Okay?"
Alyssa nodded, feeling a little relieved. Her first Pokemon, a Growlithe, was a fire type, and Hope was too...it would feel nice, dealing with a fire Pokemon.
Next up was Lawrence, who spun the wheel with much gusto. It stopped near where Alyssa's spin did, on number 306. "Three hundred six," the man read, glancing in the book. "That's Aggron...alright, you'll get an Aron for the first round."
Matthew was the final spinner, and as the clicks grew farther and farther apart, the wheel seemed to pick a number farther away from Alyssa's and Lawrence's, 118. "One hundred eighteen," the man replied to the clicking wheel, checking the book. "Oh...Goldeen." He laughed. "Good luck with that, man."
The woman, who left when Matthew's number was read, came back with three Pokeballs. They were handed to their respective challengers, each with a slip of paper reading their Pokemon's basic stats.
"Numel - F - Level 25 - Oblivious (cannot be infatuated) - Tackle, Ember, Magnitude, Focus Energy"
"Aron - M - Level 25 - Rock Head (receives no recoil damage) - Mud Slap, Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Take Down"
"Goldeen - F - Level 25 - Water Veil (cannot be burned) - Horn Attack, Water Sport, Supersonic, Flail"
"Well, that's it," the woman said, leading the three trainers into the desert sun. "The first checkpoint is that way," she pointed northeast, and handed each person a GPS. "It'll help...well, good luck and..."
"GO!"
At once, each team took off into the desert, some to each checkpoint. "Let's go!" Alyssa called, jumping away with the Bug Team.

Matthew took off after Alyssa and was laughing. "Well, we won't have to worry about water in rations... Goldeen have a good water store... but only in an emergency... I think we might face a few people out here." His eyes scanning the dessert and wishing that they had at least included a hat for the dessert sands... "Okay, anyone willing to help with getting portable shade?" Of course he wasn't running at all, he was walking, briskly, but at the same time conserving energy.
"Slow down... it is hot and the other less experienced people with desserts will burn themselves out... set a steady pace and go at it." He was sounding like an old man almost it seemed.

Lawrance looked at his Pokèball and sighed.
"An Aron... Well, it'll be a good way to take note of battling strategies trainers may use..." he commented. Lawrance ran off into the desert with his team. "I can't wait to see what we'll find out here..."

Jason looked over the sheet...It was a basic sheet. Sure he would be late but it could work out...He hoped so atleast. Grabbing the form, he filled out:
Name: Jason Kurano Age: 13 Hometown: Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh. Phsyical description: A healthy young man. Stands at five foot four inches. Wears blue jeans and a silver and blue shirt. Personality: Jason is a good team worker.. He likes to help those in need. His hobbies include reading, writing, and drawing. History: Jason was born and raised in Pallet Town. At the age of four, he moved to Twinleaf Town. There he got his starter Bubbles the Pulip (Pocchama.) Ever since then, he has been stdying the ways of a pokemon trainer.
Looking it over, Jason sighed and placed it in the entrance box. Turning to the door, he walked away.

((Pocchama's English name is Piplup, not Pulip. X3 ))
For reasons unknown, the staff decided to let the latecomer into the game. Once they took his Piplup and gave him a Bug Team uniform, they sent him on his merry way...without a Pokemon.
Alyssa looked up as a boy appeared in their uniform. "Oh hey, you must be a latecomer! Well, if you don't have a Pokemon...we'll just have to work hard to get you to the checkpoint with us."
((OMG WRITER'S BLOCK! Eh...I'll seriously start the RP after I finish up with some Jenta stuffages. X3 ))

OoC: -twitches- -runs around in a circle and then enters- Darn. I wanted to be the little kid. XD Oh well, I can still be.
BiC: Britney couldn't figure out why they needed to know her history. Or her personality. Sure, her descrition she could figure out, but why her history? It made absolutely no sense to the ten year old girl, but she shrugged.
Name: Britney Rocel Age: 10 Hometown: Fortree, Hoenn Phsyical description: Four and a half feet tall, dim red hair pulled into a ponytail that reaches shoulders, dark green eyes. Bright pink summer dress, with sleeves that cover her shoulders, and a belt made out of plastic white flowers. Pink strapped sandals. Personality: Not so much girly as simply liking pink very much. Active, and hates to stay still, spends most of the time outside. Cheery and hard to get upset, but tends to complain quite a bit whenever tired or bored or hurt. History: ...Grew up in Fortree City, and was given a Tailow named Wingstar by her mother at the age of eight. Despite the constant rain around the city, she was often outside playing with the other children, up and down the trees. Was only allowed to sign up when she told her parents she wouldn't be wandering around the desert by herself, after all, and that most kids her age were off wandering around and doing much more dangerous stuff.

"Another late one," one staff member called as Britney walked in. "Where should we put her?"
"I dunno...the Bug Team? They're still pretty close," another said as they escorted Britney into a changing room. A Bug Team uniform was thrown in with her, and when she came out in the said green uniform, she was then escorted outside.
Alyssa blinked as another Bug Team member showed up (and again, Pokemon-less). "Well...this should be interesting. We have two more members to escort to the next checkpoint," she muttered as she fingered Numel's Pokeball.

((Heehee. XD))
Britney grimaced. The uniform wasn't very nice looking. In fact, she didn't like it at all. She didn't like shorts at all either. Pants or dresses, but not shorts or skirts. Not that she seemed to have much choice in the matter.
But Britney wasn't going to complain just yet. After all, it wasn't all that bad. "Sorry! My mom wouldn't let me go without telling me a dozen things to be safe about, and then I had to catch the second boat. I just barely got here in time to even get in, which wouldn't been really bad if I hadn't, because then my mom wouldn't have ever let me ever do anything again, since I wouldn't have been 'responsable' enough to get here on time. Which wouldn't have been my fault, but I don't think she realizes that." She paused to breathe, before adding on, "My name's Britney, what's yours?"

Alyssa smiled at the rest of her much-younger compatriots. "And I'm Alyssa, it's nice to meet everybody." She glanced out across the desert-like environment, and pointed toward a mountainous area in the distance. "The staff members said that our first checkpoint is in that direction. We should probably get there as soon as we can, just so we have more than three Pokemon between us."
Her sneakers padded lightly against the sand, covering themselves with the golden grains in the process. The young woman looked up at the bright blue sky, wondering vaguely how hot it would get later in the day. They were in a desert, after all.
Suddenly, a creature zoomed ahead of them in the air, touching down lightly in front of them. The bird, a Pidgeot, cawed angrily. Alyssa narrowed her eyes, as he was in between her and the sun, but let out her rental Pokemon. "Numel!" She cried, as her Pokemon shouted a smilar thing. "Use Ember!"
The camel opened her mouth slowly, focusing on the landed bird. She then spat out a barrage of tiny flames, aiming to weaken her foe. The bird shrieked, taking into the air, and diving towards its foe. Alyssa's Numel moaned as her opponent's wing crashed into her hard body, shoving her into the sand.
Alyssa pursed her lips, and looked at her teammates. "A little help here? To be a Pidgeot, that thing has to be over ten levels higher than our Pokemon. We obviously can't win with a one-on-one battle."
