This is set in a medieval fantasy setting. That means you can’t blow things up with a machine gun, and (most) people aren’t running around in animal furs. Instead, we get to play with pretty sharp objects. Fun!
Okay. I want this to be fun for everyone, so follow the rules of roleplaying. No godmoding, powerplaying, and all of that nice stuff. I also want it to be enjoyable to read (hopefully…), so make your posts of good grammar structure. Check them over for errors, and the such, you know?
No more than two characters per person. Preferably one non-human and one human. Most non-humans will probably be dragons, but neh. That’s besides the point. If you want to be creative, go for it! Things might exist that no one has heard of before. Maybe you want to create an entirely new species.
Humans live in tunnels BENEATH ground. They were driven there by the dragons. There is only one common thing between the two races:
Dragons believe humans are only good as pets, or dead.
Humans believe dragons are only good as pets, or dead.
See the resemblance? Dragons get the land above ground, humans get stuck below.
Dragon’s can’t enter complete darkness. Their own bodies won’t let them, which is why they don’t like dark nights or gloomy days. Humans don’t like the light, because dragon’s can move about in such. So there are absolutely no lights near the entrances to the surface of the earth, because that’s the one sure method to make sure no dragon enters the tunnel cities beneath the ground. Dragons tend to surround themselves with reflective objects, because it amplifies the light.
There are four types of dragons. There is a ‘King’, although this can be male or female, for each type. The ‘King’s are named for the region they rule over, North, South, East, and West. Although dragons may travel from region to region, they are most comfortable in their ‘home’ region.
North is King over the snow/ice/winter dragons. Some of these have the ability to spit acid, but it isn’t common. The region reflects the type, and is nearly always covered in snow or ice, except for the height of summer, where there is a brief flash of a verdant spring. I play North. So you can’t be him/her. I’ll be in the minority, of the gender of the King’s (or overall members, whichever is best.)
South is King over the water/air/fall dragons. Some of these have the ability create rain, but it isn’t common. The region is mostly water, dotted with rocky islands, some of which actually have plant growth. Most dragons live off of sea life here. South is open. So you can be him/her.
East is King over the earth/rock/spring dragons. Some of these have the ability to make plants grow, but it isn’t common. The region is mostly grassland and verdant forests, although there is the occasional bare mountain top. East is open. So you can be him/her.
West is King over the fire/heat/summer dragons. Some of these have the ability to breathe fire, but it isn’t common. The region is mostly desert, with the occasional patch of brush. West is open. So you can be him/her.
A dragon’s use of magic depends on how much light they are able to gather, which is why they like light so much. The most powerful magician’s seem to be bright lights, rather than actual dragons, they absorb and reflect so much light. However, such an organism is rare, because dragon’s aren’t very magical. Usually a dragon has just enough magic to enable them to do small things.
Humans however, are able to use amazing amounts of magic (although there aren’t many magic users) and they don’t seem to require anything more than their own bodily energy. So it pays to be healthy and strong, and be a magician. No spindly things here.
If you wish to know something else, please ask. I’ll modify it up here, and answer you. ^^
Now…let the roleplay commence!
Oh. Yea. If you would, just describe your character in the post. Lists are okay though. I’m just not providing one, ‘cause I’m lazy like that. XD
The young boy hugged his arms to himself, gathering the rags of his clothes as close as he could. He wouldn’t be this far north, nor as close to the surface as he was, if it weren’t for the fact that only someone equally as small as himself could get into this particular tunnel. It was a safe, if cold, place for him to hide from the band of older street-kids, and a suiting place to punish himself for being stupid enough to wander off from his own band.
He was around thirteen years old. He couldn’t tell for certain, but the last time his father had spoke to him had been his tenth birthday, the same day he gave Tenn, the boy, his dagger. The very same dagger that Tenn held hugged to his chest at that very moment, listening to the footsteps of the boys beneath him. No doubt, if he had had a mother, she would have been sick with worry over him being so close to the surface, and when it was day above, no less! But the light didn’t reach him, even if he could see it.
It made it easier to make out his features as well, and he wasn’t that out of the ordinary, except for maybe being a bit thin. That and being quite dirty. His hair was dark like most other people, except for the few who ventured to the top regularly, close to black if not quite there. His skin was pale, for the very same reason, and his eyes were a normal green color, nothing very interesting about him, except for the simple dagger. To anyone with money, it was hardly worth looking at, but amongst the tunnels, it was a weapon. Weapons were sought after; those with them were hardly going to give them over…which was why those looking for them fought to get them.
