...
No. What are they?
XD
I'm sorry! I rarely ever hear of them! Not like I train them in Silver or anything...And I don't roleplay with many people with one of them.
Now I feel like an idiot. However, that is a common condition for me, so I don't really care overly much. XD
...The only polar bear pokemon I can think of without making one up is an albino Usaring.
There ought to be albino pokemon. -nods-

I know a couple of sites that have an albino mew as their mascot....
And I guess I shouldn't be all that superior. I mean I'm all too much in love with GSC. So Much the best game trilogy.

White mews seem to be very common. I have decided that white mews are not albino mews. I refuse to believe it. Entirely. So there.
Nah. Kanto games are the best. Red and blue and all of 'em. You just can't beat Kanto. Pwnsome.

Um. I'm going to post a few things. I keep distracting myself from leaving and going to sleep. I'm going to regret it tomorrow, but for some odd reason I don't right now. Yea. Anyways, just a few gyms right now. Maybe, if you still need suggestions when I come back at the end of the week I'll have more. Ice: Like a fun house. You know, where the mirrors make you look all wierd? And it can be really confusing where you're supposed to walk, and you end up walking into mirrors? I've never personally been in one, but that's what they look like in movies. It might be fun, despite the apparent lack of iciness. It could be fairly cold in there, and the floor be made of ice. And there could be large opening where gym minions wait for trainers to appear and then battle them. Just an idea. Flying: The "top of a really tall place" is a good idea, but maybe they are actually in some sort of open air flying device? -hot air balloon's come to mind- That might be an interesting way to conduct a gym battle. Or, maybe there are ropes and the sort strung from the top of the buildings. Not a very good battle ground, but it gives the (risky) option of using a non-flying pokemon. There would be psychic pokemon or rescue-birds to catch those pokemon that fell and weren't withdrawn into pokeballs in time, of course. Safety first. (hah! Battle high up in the air, and say that...) Normal: I'm thinking this gym should be like a mixture of all the other gyms. The pokemon would be normal types, but you find them nearly everywhere, so it sort of makes sense for the gym to have aspects of all the types. Maybe a grassy sort of area, then a wet one...It gives you different environments to fight in, and even gives an advantage to half-normal types, like Bidoof, I believe. I personally don't like it, but either it or Bibarel are normal/water types... Anyways, for now that's all I have.

Alright, before more gym ideas come flooding in...I want to say something. This is an RP, not a video game. If you're all trained up before you set foot in a gym in the video game, it can take maybe 10 minutes tops to get through, from the time you enter to the time you exit. However, for RPs, it can take weeks to simply get through one gym battle - not including any obstacles before it. So I'm going to say NO to all obstacles-before-battles, since it'll just keep the characters in the gyms forever. I'd actually like some people to reach the later towns, you know? So, for gyms, you can have obstacles/puzzles/whatever OR a battle/battle with a twist. Not both. In fact, I'm all for having only 1-on-1 gym battles in Tejan, just to keep it moving quickly. How does that sound? Edit: Alright, I'm going to review everybody's ideas for the gyms: So, my gym suggestions, in order: Fire Gym (growlithe, houndour) Normal Gym (meowth, skitty) Water Gym (goldeen, seaking) Grass Gym (parasect, shroomish) Electric Gym (raichu, minun) Dragon Gym (dragonair, shellgon) Sorry, but I have to dissagree with the number of gyms, we should go back to the classic pokemon 8 gyms for this region, and use a varying number of pokemon per gym. As for gyms (and two or three pokemon suggestions, we could add on later), probably like this: Normal (Rattata, Sentret, Bidoof, etc.) Fighting (Machop, Meditite, etc.) Grass (Oddish/Gloom (depends on level), Grovile (or however its spelled), etc.) Steel (Magneton, Steelix, Skarmory, etc.) Psychic (Kadabra, Gardevoir, etc.) Eon (Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon) Flying (Pidgeot, Stararptor (or however its spelled), Swellow, etc.) Ghost (Gengar, Spiritomb, etc.) I agree with MF on the terrain thing, but I want to expand on it. The gyms could be placed in areas of terrain based on their types, and trainers will have to gain access to them through some sort of test, based on that terrain. Here's some ideas for towns/cities for the gyms: Normal-Plains Town, situated in the middle of a meadow. (we don't have to do anything with this one, its the first gym, it has to be easy) Fighting-Arena City, situated in a valley surrounded by tall mountains. To get through the gym, take on a 10-man tournament, healing only halfway through. Grass-Jungle Deep, situated, as the name suggests, deep in a Jungle. The challenger must make their way through 3 Jungle-based challenges to get to the Gym Leader. Steel-Islet of Steel (rip off of Legend of Zelda, I know), a small Island off the coast of Tejan dominated by factories. Battle trainers in 5 factories in order to gain access to the gym. Psychic-Crystal City, a large city in the middle of Tejan. Trainers must climb their way through the Crystal tower past traps and trainers to get to the gym leader. Eon-Elemental City, a city built at a place where the 4 elements meet: by the sea, where massive winds blow constantly, at the base of a volcano, and a desert. To gain access to the gym, trainers must get a special item from each element, and also defeating its guardian (always a trainer that uses either water, flying, fire, or ground pokemon). Flying-Skyview City, a city on a cliff. To reach the gym, you actually have to fly not to another city, but up into the atmosphere where the Gym waits, the battles take place on two towers, flying pokemon is highly recomended for this battle. Ghost-Haunted Village, a small town at the north end of the region that some say is haunted. To reach the gym, you have to make your way through 4 levels of traps and ghost trainers in order to reach the gym leader. Maybe a grassy sort of area, then a wet one...It gives you different environments to fight in, and even gives an advantage to half-normal types, like Bidoof, I believe. I personally don't like it, but either it or Bibarel are normal/water types... And, of course, the city binge from yours truly, since it included gyms: Without looking at anybody's posts, here are some quick ideas for cities - one for every type: Normal: A large city, complete with skyscrapers. It is the information capital of Tejan, and the gym is on the eighteenth floor of a rather tall, ornate building in the middle of the city. Other attractions include a breeding building, with over ten different Pokemon to choose from, and a gigantic department store. Fire: A small town in the foothills of a mountainous area. It's pretty dry there, with little vegetation, which makes it perfect for outdoor fire battles - so the gym has an outdoor arena. There is also a slugma corral (Need a slugma? Take a slugma! Have a slugma? Give a slugma!) and a festival every fall. Water: A beach town with gym battles fifty meters out into the open ocean. Many people come to get away from it all (and get sunburned), while some come to catch the wild flocks of tentacool and staryu, and some come to buy bred fishy Pokemon of all species. Grass: An evergreen forest largeish town in a valley. It has almost no natural lighting (as the trees are really tall and leafy), and the gym looks almost the same inside as it does on the outside. There are also tree-climbing tours, tangela-breeders and oddish-bellsprout contests, as well as some fun, eclectic shops. Psychic: A very small town in the east where everybody knows each other, and they don't let you stay for more than a few weeks unless you either are loved by psychics or are psychic yourself. They only sell abra, the most common of psychics, and they're a bit pricey. The gym is inside a room without any lighting - you need to either be psychic to fight, or have good night-vision. Bug: A suburbian town-city with a lot of trees and even more bugs. The gym is the leader's rather large house (the south side of this town has some of the most expensive real estate) with the arena in the large backyard. Other attractions include quite a few breeders, many wild caterpillars, and, of course, bug-catching competitions. Ground: A mining town in the mountains. You can go inside the mines - which go through the mountains to the rock-type city, or fight on the steep mountainside gym arena. You can also buy a few ground-types, catch a few ground-types, or go see one of their earth shows. Rock: The city that uses the mines as a route to the ground-type town. It's a fairly large city, with stone architecture and an ancient stone gym. There are plenty of geodude breeders (as well as others), a ton of shopping, and the most fashionable people of the region. Ghost: A bustling city where every other building is a shrine of some sort. There are graveyards everywhere - legend says it's a lucky place to be buried. Ghosts fly around at night (and some crazy ones in the day), and people are okay with that. The gym is in a graveyard, and the breeders are in them, too. Same with a lot of things, actually... Fighting: A small-ish town in a sort-of forested, mountainous area. There are a few breeders, the gym is a very boring one, and a few shops. The most exciting thing is the town's obsession with garlic, and their garlic festival. So, do you like garlic ice cream? Electric: Another bustling city in the mountains, complete with a gigantic power plant. The gym has traps inside that shock you, the breeders and shopkeepers like to paralyze you then yell their sales pitch, the laboratory drags you in by siccing their electric-types on you, etcetera, etcetera. Very exciting...! Ice: A medium-sized town in the north. It snows a lot, and there are ice-scupltures and glass-blowing shops abound. The gym is on a constantly-frozen lake, there are nearby ice caves that are fun to explore, and there is a shopping district. Poison: A large city with an even larger underground - the gym is in the sewers. People usually wear stylish gas masks for fun, and grimer are currently the most popular pet. Pollution doesn't bother them, and yet they still like bicycles better...they have bike traffic, especially in the shopping malls. Flying: A town on a mountaintop with very small buildings - people here like the outdoors. The arena is outdoors on the scraggly peak (they like aerial battles), all the shops are open, the restaurants are mostly outdoor seating, the markets are open-air, and the breeders usually keep their charges outside. There are a lot of hiking trails, too. Dragon: A tiny little town in a rocky mountain lake area. Everybody here tries to look like the "local person", and they really don't like selling dragons to anybody foreign - or even letting you inside the caves or near the lake or saltwater pond to catch them yourself. Not much to do here, really, once you get the badge...because they really want you out. Steel: A manufacturing city which makes anything metal-related. The gym is just a room in a Pokedex factory, the breeders are all part-time metalworkers, the shops are usually part of a factory, and the Pokemon Center doubles as a parting garage. Dark: A sunny little town in the mountains...during the day. It's mostly a nocturnal town, with all the nightlife being the normal life. The gyms, shops, and such all open in the evening, and the gym battle itself is fought outside under the spectacular stars. Everybody wears black, but they're all very happy and cheerful about it... So yeah...excluding my ideas, since I included an idea for every type (except for "eon", now that I look at Ruin's ideas again), here's a quick tally of gym types from THE ONLY THREE PEOPLE THAT REPLIED, ONE OF WHOM IS A STAFF MEMBER (*kills all the other members for not caring or helping at all*): Fire - 1 Normal - 3 Water - 1 Grass - 2 Electric - 1 Dragon - 1 Fighting - 1 Steel - 1 Psychic - 1 Eon - 1 Flying - 2 Ghost - 1 Ice - 1 Most votes out of MorriganFearn, Ruin Queen of Oblivion, and Lee: 1. Normal 2. Grass, Flying 3. Fire, Water, Electric, Dragon, Fighting, Steel, Psychic, Eon, Ghost, Ice Ground, Rock, Dark, Poison, and Bug were not mentioned at all. As for numbers of gyms, Mori-chan wanted 6, Ruin wanted 8, Lee said nothing on the number, and I suggested the idea of having more than you need, so you choose. I can set up a poll using the types that got at least one vote (I'm keeping my choices out of this one) once I know the number of gyms we're going to be using. (Though I'll probably give Normal, Grass, and Flying a bit of extra weight because of this thread.) We can finalize the types of gyms, the gym leaders, and the towns they're in once we have the actual types. So from you - I want NUMBERS OF GYMS. Then I can set up a poll and actually get OTHER PEOPLE to spend a bit of time voting...>_<+ Next issue: the lab!

Alright, so for numbers:
MorriganFearn: 6 Ruin Queen of Oblivion: 8 Lee: no response Jason-Kun: 17
I'm going to set up a poll for the number of gyms now, since nobody seems to be agreeing. I like 6, but I want other people's opinions (I'd like it if I was more of a tie-breaker than evil overlord, or something). I only want to force my ideas on the region if nobody says anything, or the process is taking too long.

Alright, it's been decided that it will be 10 gyms. Now we're onto type of gyms. I'll go make a poll...

Alright, we have our gyms!
Mandatory gyms: - Bug - Normal - Dark - Fire - Grass - Ice
Optional gyms: - Dragon - Psychic - Water - Flying
We need: - Order of gyms/town placement - Gym leaders/gym design - Town design - Prizes for optional gyms
Yar!

Why do certain type gyms have to be manditory? Why couldn't it be: "Once you have six badges" type thing? Thatway people could pick and choose. Or would that be difficult to set up?

*shrug* Dunno. It might be easier to have six mandatory gyms and four optional ones...easier to set up...maybe.
Not sure, actually.
What does everybody think?

Here are the ideas I had for the gym towns (for the mandatory gyms):
And here are Lee's ice and normal ideas:
Here were MorriganFearn's, for the four of her six that got picked for mandatory:
Alright, so as for order, here was MorriganFearn's:
And here is my proposed order, with inverted first and last gyms from Jenta:
I also think we should either have one-on-one single battles or two-on-two single battles, since Jenta three-on-three battles are both long and annoying.
Maybe this for the gym Pokemon? If we decide on one-on-one, the one that would get nixed is the one in parentheses:
Also, if we want a champion, we could have them have a six-Pokemon team with one Pokemon of each of the gym types. Kinda like this, maybe:
Or, if we really wanted to be cool, we could have them also represent the optional gym types (Dragon, Psychic, Flying, Water) as well. Maybe like this:

Well, for Towns, I am beginning to like the idea of 2 gyms in one town for the "optional" things, especially if you had gyms of opposing types in one town. Like:
Firefly Village: This small community based in the ashy forest at the base of Tejan's volcano is home to the School for Psychics in Tejan, where gifted humans learn to tame their powers and work with pokemon. Since some of the young psychics don't have the best control, the school was located at the very edge of this isolated village filled with bug pokemon to keep the psychics under control. However, the head master is always ready for a challenge, and will take on all comers, despite how much Firefly's gym leader may get annoyed about it.
Gyms: Bug, Psychic Leaders: Brecca - The Nature Photographer (Bug), Finor - The Empathic Headmaster (Psychic)
Kuriblitz Peak: This high mountain village is home to two major clans. The Nobishira run the postal service of Tejan, their bird pokemon being the messengers that can deliver even to the most out of the way areas, or isolated regions like Miteinjan. The Ferzi clan run Kuriblitz's other business. The glass blowers of Kuriblitz are famed throughout Tejan and beyond. Normally the clans are at odds with one another, but the youngest sons of the family are actually best (if competitive) friends, and run the two gyms on either side of the village.
Gyms: Ice, Flying Leaders: Ingo Ferzi - Prodigal Glass Master (Ice), Blakar Nobishira - The Fast Messenger (Flying)
Drake Landing: This town on the lip of Tejan's (hopefully) inactive volcano used to be known for the charizard the local breeders produced. Traditionally the Town's Fire gym was run by the breeder who produced the best pokemon, as determined by an annual battle between the bred pokemon. However, several decades ago there was an internal split between the breeders as to whether better pokemon were produced when one concentrated on charizard's native fire type, or latent draconic abilities. The dragon breeders set up a gym inside the volcano's crater, while the fire breeders remained in town. Funnily enough the dragon breeders are beginning to concentrate on dragonair lines and their water abilities now.
Gyms: Fire, Dragon Leaders: Abersa - The Firey Battle Princess (Fire), Ondura - The Serene Dragon Tamer (Dragon)
Nuur... My brains are splooshing to think of something for Grass and water, but I think you get the idea.

Hah, Found 'em, Grasslandy Lakes!
El Dueg: This city is on the far side of the two Tejan Mountains. The The grasslands spread out from the base of the volcano in a wide swath, with a great lake in the middle of them. On this lake is the floating city Tichteno -- or El Dueg as the Jenta settlers have renamed it. Since the two Mountains often block air flows from one side of Tejan to the other it is usually raining on the grasslands. Not a problem for the natives, who like the reeds and grasses that they use as float-ables for their city to grow as quickly as possible. Two gyms are here, one that celebrates the sun right in the middle of the City, and the other that celebrates the water that gives live located on and under the lake itself.
Gyms: Grass, Water Gym Leaders: Zonam - The Solar Collector (Grass), Deminque - The Water Demon (Water) - Note: Both like really *bad* jokes.

Ok...my opinion: One-on-One Gym Debate: I really think one-on-one is too easy. In that sense it would almost be like a wild pokemon battle, or easier than fighting an unseasoned trainer. Two or three pokemon per gym makes it feel more like a gym battle. More pokemon makes it more fun in my opinion. No one promised being a trainer would be easy. I'm not sure why I gave that a title and a colon, because I have nothing else to say. Heh.
