(How odd. The chart on my wall shows them both super effective. Then again, it did come with a Pokemon Colosseum guide. Probably out of date.)
Bugsy gave a slight twitch, and that was about it. How a Pineco could twitch managed to elude everyone and everything...
"Where's a Wake-Up Slap when you need it," Law muttered. "Bugsy! Get up and retaliate! Pin Missile!"
Again, Bugsy twitched slightly. And again, how this was possible eluded all.
"Maybe I should have picked up some status healers in town," Law thought aloud. "Too late for that now."
(Phear mah writer's blocketh! Also, what's the limit on Sleep? I forget.)

((Sleep lasts pretty much as long as you want it to. But you know, Bunny, you have a magical berry bag...))
The oddish was not impressed. <Seriously. Am I supposed to be snored to death? This thing dun't even know snore, I'm guessing. Not that I'm getting much energy offa 'im, but jeeze, I might as well walk away.>
He did not follow up on the threat, however, instead glowing again with Mega Drain.

(I completely forgot about that! But no. He's been asleep for two battles now. And........ WAKE UP! *Poof*)
Bugsy gave another twitch and stood up. He gave a yawn and blinked a few times before realizing where he was. The Pineco shook its head (or at least the upper half of its body. Don't ask how it did.) and took a fighting... Position-thing.
"Bugsy! You're awake! Now Pin Missile that weed!" Lawrance commanded, pointing to said weed, which just happened to be the Oddish.
Bugsy leaned back and quickly shot forward, sending his five spikes to the weed with a little extra force.

The spikes impacted into the oddish, tearing through the fragile leaves, and ripping into the solid roots of the lower body. The oddish cried out in pain, but he had been too close to Bugsy when the original onslaught began. Buggy spikes punctured his body one after another, again and again, going the full five rounds before Bugsy was depleted of missiles. Lawrence's opponent merely lay, stapled to the ground, passed out.
Law's pokedex beeped to tell him that his pokemon had defeated a level 25 oddish, and gained 1 level, putting Bugsy at level 26.

Law blinked and looked to Bugsy. "That was a little over dramatic, don't you agree?" he asked the pine cone. Which, under any other circumstances, would probably get him committed to an insane asylum.
Bugsy simply shook his head and stared at the downed weed. He wasn't sure if it would rise from the dead or if it was out cold. He was hoping the latter.
Law saw Bugsy's look and a mischievous grin spread across his face. "Bugsy, take a well deserved rest... Just not for two battles." A red beam shot from his ball and warped the Pokemon to what can only be assumed is some sort of pocket dimension. Shortly after, Law tossed an Ultra Ball at the Oddish. "Bugsy doesn't seem to like you much. This should be amusing."

The pokeball shook a few times, and then was still. Law's Pokedex beeped, displaying the appropriate stats for his new capture. They were as such: Oddish Gender: male Level: 25 Group: 2 Nickname: Ability: Chlorophyll: speed increases in sunshine Attacks: Lucky Chant, Mega Drain, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore Personality: Not impressed by much, doesn't get along easily with others of most personality types. He usually is nicest around people who aren't very excitable, talkative, or energetic. Ideally, he would spend every waking moment in a nice, quiet nighttime forest, but that doesn't seem to be the case with life... As Law moved forward a bit, the forest quickly gave way to an open area, complete with tall grass swaying in the soft wind. The grass in front of him rustled as his next wild Pokemon challenger rushed to greet him. And slammed into his leg, and fell down. The little buneary groaned and rubbed her head, peering up at Law from her spot on the ground. "<Owwie, that hurt,>" she whined in a cutesy voice.

Law quickly turned his attention down and spotted the Buneary. "You might want to watch where you're going then. Your head isn't the softest thing to collide with my leg..." He lifted the Buneary to its feet and knelt down to face it eye to eye... Kinda. "You okay?"
It was unlike him to seem this... Caring. Toward anything. It was obvious he cared for things, but never this obvious. "What's a Buneary doing out here, anyway?" He looked around the forest. "They were always around the fields back in Jhoto. Never thought of you guys as forest creatures."
(Anime logic-If it's in one region, it exists in all of them. Even if you've never seen it there before.)

The buneary looked around. "<Um, we're in a meadow, sorta. So we kinda live around here. The grasses are really nice,>" she replied in her cutesy little-girl voice. "<Thanks for helping me stand up. That was nice of you!>"
Wow, this human is really nice! she thought, giving the trainer a naiive little smile. Obviously, it never occurred to her that he might be luring her into a battle or anything. Nope. Not at all.

"Think nothing of it." He stood up and pulled a Pokeball from his belt. "It'll make this a little harder to do." Law tossed the ball into the air. "Showtime, Rex!"
A red beam shot from the center of the ball and a Furret with a blank expression materialized. It seemed completely unaware that it may have just shifted dimensions.
"Really sorry about this, Buneary. But it's my trainerly duty. But if I catch you, know you'll be with a kind trainer," Law explained. "Slam it, Rex!"
The Furret snapped out of his daze and looked around. It took a moment for the command to register... "<Right-o, boss!>" Rex shouted after everything finally came together. He charged from his position as fast as his stubby legs would carry him, spun, and smacked the rabbit with his tail with as much force as he could muster.

The buneary's eyes widened as she heard the command. Now that was down right mean trickery! This person was up to no good. She would just have to get away from the evil trainer. Backing up, she dashed at the Furret leaping off the ground at the last possible minute, her leg outstretched in her best fighting move: Jump kick!
Rex was already moving forward to slam into her, and the two collided with a crash. The buneary felt her leg jar unmercifully against something hard, but she ignored it as they crashed together to the ground. If the head on collision into the powerful fighting move didn't instantly knock out the bigger pokemon, she would have to run for it.

(How does revival work in this? Are caught Pokemon instantly revived or are they still KO'd?)
His attempt to Slam into a rabbit quickly became a game of Chicken. However, neither party moved and Rex was hit dead on. Rex was knocked back by the kick . How did such a small thing have such strong legs? "<Yeah... I felt that one...>" With that, he collapsed into a brown heap on the ground.
Two more beams and Rex was replaced by a brown pinecone. "Bugsy, avenge your teammate! Pin missile!"
Bugsy spun rapidly, sending five yellow spikes from his body toward the Buneary. Five yellow spikes whose origin should not be questioned...

((If a pokemon has fainted they are not un-fainted unless you've had them healed. They might revive on their own, but they will still be weak, and incapable of battle. Just there to make nasty comments.))
The buneary was scraped and stuck with the various pins and needles. However, her skin was tougher than plant leaves, and what what incapacitated the oddish could be shrugged off by her. She dodged right, before spinning around in the dirt. There was no way she was hanging around with this crazy evil guy in charge any more.
In a burst of speed she dove into the grass, only to be lost to veiw as she engaged her special ability and ran away.

"Well. That coulda gone better..." Law commented as he recalled Bugsy. He continued on his way, leaving the mass of trees behind him.
After a while, the constant sight of grass got a little boring. Well, more than a little, actually. He was about ready to CAUSE something to happen instead of just let it. However, he decided against that. You never know when an officer is hiding just around the corner.
Instead of doing something quite possibly illegal, Law pulled out his handy-dandy Pokedex and checked its handy-dandy map. "Doesn't look too far to the next town..." His attention began to drift from the map to the town ahead. "Wonder the gym leader uses. I should probably heal my Pokemon when I get there, though."
(Hey, this is gonna sound kinda stupid probably, but do Pokemon of other groups count toward the total for an area?)

((I'm not certain what you mean. If you're suggesting challenging Botan with group three pokies then you'd be kicked out of the gym. Assuming Law isn't interested in taking up that tempting life of crime, it's against league rules and region law to do so. If you mean training a couple of group ones into group twos, there's not reason why not.))
It was a good thing that he hadn't done anything illegal, because as he rounded a bend in the road there was a road block set up, guarded by two officers on motorcycles. They both had large mightyena with them, and there was a third young man with a clipboard and a pair of eyeglasses that just screamed bureaucrat.
"Mornin' son," said the female officer, putting her cap back on over thick blond hair. "You're just about to enter Florak town, but if you'd be so kind as to show your pokedex to the man behind the clipboard we'd be much obliged."

(No, actually. I was just wondering if you were allowed six Pokemon from each area, a total of six from whatever areas, or if there was a limit for the site. I'm pretty sure I saw something about that somewhere, but I can't remember...)
"Sure, no problem," he said, digging into his pocket. He pulled out the grey device and did as he was told, handing it to the man holding the clipboard.
"Does this have anything to do with a rash of Pokemon thefts? 'Cause two of mine were stolen and I'd like to-" he caught himself mid sentence and realized he was near officers of the law. "Have a few words with whoever took 'em." Lawrance was near fury thinking about his missing Pokemon, but managed to keep his head. If he was in jail, he couldn't violently murder the people who stole his Pokemon, now could he?
(Woooo, bad post! Woo!)

((You're allowed to have 9 pokemon with you in your party. At least 1 pokemon from each group must be in your party at all times, but after that you can mix and match. So Law could have 1 group 1 pokemon, 7 group 2 pokemon, and 1 group 3 pokemon with him, or 3 pokemon from each group, etc.))
"Two of yours were stolen too!?" the woman looked at her colleague, who nodded, hauling out a notebook. "How did it occur? -- We'll need your name, trainer status, and a description of the pokemon, please."
The man with the clipboard was ticking off various things was he cycled through the pokedex. "This guy's in the clear, Hemingway," he smiled, as he handed the pokedex back to Law. "His team's pretty much bug and poison types, so no worries there. We're to get worried about psychic types and ghosts, right?"

Lawrance pocketed the device and looked up at the woman in uniform. "Lawrance Govan. Spelled with an A. 14 years old. The Pokemon are a male Venonat that goes by Venom and a female Shinx. The Venonat's kinda tricky. The Shinx is a little lazy. Neither one has any distinguishing marks." He pointed behind him through the trees. "I was training up there and I felt my belt get a little lighter. When I checked, my Pokeballs were gone. All I saw was the tail end of a Teleport."
(Craptastic posting begins NAO! Also, I wish I picked a psychic type now...)

"A teleport," the male officer mused. "Must be more psychic types, then. So, that'll be at least one psychic that can use teleport. And at ;least one that can use kinesis on a party from the other report." The man with the clipboard had been scribbling things down, and now he nodded, checking his pencil into the little holder. "Good, then. Thank you very much. If you have anything more to add, please, call this number. I've got your pokedex number and we'll be able to e-mail you any developments from our end. Just don't forget to check your 'dex mail." The female officer was scribbling something on a pad, which she ripped off and handed to Lawrance. "Here, there's our number, and -- one moment, I think I've got some candy on me if you like." She patted her pockets, and produced two rare candies, handing them to Law. "Thanks again, young man, your co-operation is always appreciated." ((You get two rare candies as an appology from me for taking so bloody long to update ^^ )

(Awesomeness. Now then, Pineco evolves at level 30, right?)
Law put the sweets in his pocket and grinned. "Glad to be of service to Jenta's police. I'll let you know if I learn anything else." With that and a wave, he went on his merry way.
It was a while before anything else of interest happened. All was calm once more. Law stopped at a sign pointing toward a city in the distance. "Florak Town, sleepy town of sweet scents," Law read aloud. "I thought these were supposed to be in the middle of the city... Then again, not a lot makes sense here... Evil psychic types, things falling on my head. Insane Jigglypuffs." He continued muttering to himself as he walked along.
(Continuing my habit of crappy posts!)
