Lawrance charged full speed across the town, stopping mere centimeters from a head on collision with Prof. Cherry's door. Which, to say the least, wouldn't have been good. He stared at the door, thinking over his reason for leaving Jhoto...
"I'll become the greatest Gym Leader ever... Maybe even open my own Gym somewhere far away..." he muttered to himself.
He knocked on the door eagerly, wanting to see this 'Prof. Cherry' person he'd heard about back in Jhoto more than get his Pokèmon.
(*Waves green flag* Yay for corniness.)

((*eats corn* Mmm...it's YELLOW! )) Professor Cherry opened the door, having the door come centimeters from hitting Law's head. "Ah! Sorry 'bout that, boy. Oh, you must be that boy from Johto who wants to start in Jenta, eh? Well, come in, come in," he greeted gruffly as he shooed the boy inside. "We've been getting a lot of boys recently...you're the second one from Johto, in fact." Crossing his arms, and putting his back to the two writhing, curious Ekans in a cage, Professor Cherry proceeded to begin the starter-giving process. "So, Lawrence, what sort of Group 1 starter would you like? I'm sure you know all about the group system by now, so I won't bother to explain it. The list of possible Group 1 starters is over there," he pointed out as he waved his hand to a list posted crookedly plastered on one of the walls.

He walked in and looked about. It was a lot cleaner than Prof. Elm's lab was nowadays... But that wasn't saying much... Lawrance approached the listing and scanned it quickly. Law turned to Prof. Cherry, already having made his choice.
"Igglybuff, if you're willing to part with any." he stated.

"Igglybuff?" The Professor asked, a little startled. "Well, of course I am, it's just...not many people ask for 'em. 'Specially the boys. Is there any particular gender or personality you're looking for, or should I just bring out the ones I have"

"Well, I learned from Whitney... Pretty good with an Igglybuff." he commented. "And, just break out what you have. I have no preferences."
Sure, he was asking for something commonly associated with females... But their Sing attack is far underrated.

The professor nodded, and grabbed two Pokeballs. "I'm afraid we only have two females, right now, it seems," he apologized, looking a little sheepish. "With so little demand for them, I don't always keep a lot around. A baby male was just recently hatched, but he's too young to leave his mother."
With that, he dropped the two Pokeballs, and two Igglybuffs popped out. One immediately clapped her tiny hands, and hopped over to Lawrence. "<Hiya, hiyas! Are you a trainer? Wow! I want to go on a training journey! It sounds soooo fun!>"
The other rolled her eyes, and glared at everything in the room. "<Whatever. It's a capitalist society out there, how fun could that be?>" She shuddered. "<Why'd I have to be born an Igglybuff? I should have been a Bagon.>"

Lawrance looked at the second Igglybuff and cringed.
"She's... Way too creepy..." he commented, shuddering. "I kinda like this one..."
He picked up the first Igglybuff and looked it straight in the eyes.
"Yes. She seems... Happy, hyper, and fun." he stated.

((OOC: HAHA! You know the other one was based on Ruin, right? X3 'Cuz she's fighting a Poliwag "based on" you. I find this hilariously funny. *pokes Ruin-Igglybuff*))
The gothic Igglybuff rolled her eyes, and waddled back into her Pokeball muttering about the end of the world.
The Professor smiled sheepishly. "Good choice. That other Igglybuff is rather scary...not quite sure what went wrong with her. She was such a good girl when she was a newborn."
He then beckoned Lawrence over to a table, which had a number of Pokedexes displayed on it. "Now then, as you can see, we have this insane amount of colors to choose from for your Pokedex. Since Jenta gets all the overflow Pokedexes, we get stuck with some strangely-colored ones," he waved towards the orange and yellow ones, "in addition to the more standard and normal ones," he waved at the red and brown ones. "We don't have pink, though," he mused, before shaking his head. "So, boy, which color? Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, white, grey, or black?"

(I gottta see that... Where's she fightin' it?)
He looked over the various Pokèdexes and picked up the grey one.
"If you ever get any Pokèdexes from a region called Chelzin, let me know, I'd love to get a look at Pine's Pokèdexes." he said.
(Chelzin is my currently abandoned Pokèmon region. >_>)

((Her Route 1 thread. Look at the most recent posts, and the Poliwag named "Lathor." Almost sounds like an Egyptian god, when you spell it like that...a la Hathor. @_@ Sorry if it offends you. -_-;; ))
"Chelzin...I might have...there is one Pokedex Coordinator for the private regions, so I don't actually deal with the providers personally," the Professor explained before shuffling out of the room. He came back with a messy brown paper package and a Pokeball, both of which he handed to Lawrence. "Now then, inside this package is your starter set. You will find five empty Pokeballs, a wallet with 5000 pyen, a bag of assorted berries for the road, and two Pokeballs containing your Group 2 and 3 starters. This Pokeball," he pointed to the one outside the package, "is for your Igglybuff. And you're obviously holding your Pokedex already."
He then led Lawrence over to a large map of Jenta plastered on one of the walls. "As you can see, you have three choices on which routes you want to take out of here. You may choose to go east, on Route 1, which will take you to Arisa's ice-type gym in Sapphire City. The route and the gym have Group 1 Pokemon. Another way to go is to take Route 3 down south to Florak Town. Botan has her grass-type gym there, and along the way you will fight Group 2 Pokemon. The final option is to take Route 5 up north to fight Group 3 Pokemon. The Route takes you to the mountains, and you have to go through the Sunstone Tunnel to reach the underground Settlement of Nga, where my friend Bahati has her steel-type gym. It's up to you."
After Lawrence left the building, the Professor chuckled. "Seems like he'll do well for himself. You have to respect a boy who chooses Igglybuff."
