"This place seems interest." David, a starting trainer from the Johto Region, was studying the layout of this region with interest. "Good thing that person on the ship gave this map to me. And according to it, I should be able to see the lab soon."
Looking up from his small map, his eyes focus in on a large white building in the background. "That was fast..." Although it would have took him some time to get there by walking, a quick jog proved to help him get there within a few minutes. He knock on the door and waited for a sign of life in the facility.

The Professor put down his cup of green tea before opening the door.
"Ah, hello there!" The old man grinned, giving his face an almost insane look. "My name is Professor Cherry and...you are...oh, was it Daniel Hallem?" Her tapped his chin in thought, but waved the thought away. "Anyway, I'm sure you're here for your starter Pokemon. Well, come in, come in!"
Without waiting to hear what the boy's name REALLY was, he shooed the almost-tainer inside, closing the door behind him. Immediately, two snakes lunged at them, wrapping themselves around both people. "HARU! HANA!" The man roared, taking both Ekans by the neck (well, tail...well...all of them), and throwing them back into their cage. "I told you to stay inside!"

"This should prove interesting," David nerviously laugh to himself. After replying what happen in his mind for a while, he finally remember why he came here with a blink. "Yeah... I'm here to get my starter pokemon. Hopefully I didn't disrupted anything you were doing." He looked over to the over affective snake before thinking about how they got out.

The professor rolled his eyes. "No, they just like to open the cage themselves. If they weren't too powerful, I'd give 'em to YOU as your starters!" Hana just rolled her eyes. Haru hissed, "<and we'd just come back to haunt you. Ssssssss.>" The man couhged angrily, then turned back to David. "Now then, I'm sure you read up about the group system. So, which Group 1 starter would you like?" ((Bleh, fast post. ))

"Yes," he said, placing view from the snakes to the man. "I read about that. It an interesting way to start out... Anyway, I was hoping to start out with a squirtle." He took out a photo of his house, that had his family and their Blastoise in it, along with some other pokemon they owned. Placing back, he said, "I would like one that's a male; I'm not to picky about the personality though."

The professor nodded. "Ah, yes, Squirtle. It's a good Pokemon. The wild ones always love to say hello when you go through Route 2. Nice Pokemon, good manners." He glared at his two innocent-looking Ekans. "Unlike some poison-types I could mention."
He then reached over to a shelf, and picked up two Pokeballs. "I have two male Squirtles here," Professor Cherry explained as he opened both of them. Two blue turtles popped out, and looked towards David.
"<Yo!>" One greeted, grinning. "<What up, Human?>"
The other rolled his eyes. "<He probably has a name, you know.>" He looked up at David. "<What is your name? I wouldn't want to be rude and not know...>"

After making a small sound of amusement, he said, "My name's David and nothing up but my hopes. So, do you two have names or do I have to refer to you two as squirtle number one and squirtle number 2."
'Both seem healthy and they both have... unique personalities. Hard choice to make,' David thought, while looking at the two. 'Great... I'm thinking like a breeder again.' He show his sarcasm of himself by glancing at the ceiling and then rolled his eyes.

The first Squirtle gave David a skateboard hand signal that kind of failed with his stubby fingers. "<Yo, Dave! Dude, I don't really got a name...I just...kinda exist, yo.>"
The other Squirtle waved politely. "<Nice to meet you. I don't really have a name either, but if you want, you can call me Zenigame. It's the Japanese name for "Squirtle." My mother was from a Japanese-speaking part of Johto, so I'm used to that name.>"
The professor, meanwhile, just slapped his head and mumbled, "I thought his name was Daniel..."

He shown a smile to them all till his eyes beheld what time it was. A serious determination appeared on him, although he kept his same tone of voice. "Hmm... I'm not sure which one to really choose, but I think I'll go with Zenigame; he seems to have smarts. I'm not sure if he's a better fighter though, but I can quickly change that if it's a fact." His eyes glance back at the clock with a slight annoyance as his ears started to here the second hand tick.

The other Squirtle shrugged, and with a, "<whatever, man,>" promptly disappeared back into his Pokeball.
Zenigame (or Daniel, as the professor originally thought) grinned and bowed. "<This is exciting! I cannot wait! When do we leave?>"
Professor Cherry nodded, and grabbed Zenigame's Pokeball. "Alright, I have one more question for you before you leave...what color Pokedex do you want? We have most basic colors...oh, but we're currently out of red. A shipment of green ones arrived instead."

"I guess we'll leave soon, and green's good," he said with a hint of amusement.

"Green it is, then. That's good, I have too many of them," he mumbled as he shuffled into the back room.
Three crashes, one shout of "SLUGMAAAAAA!" and one flying Oddish later, he reemerged, his labcoat looking a little burnt.
He handed over a brown package and a Pokeball to David with a huff. "Alright, boy, here's what we have in here. You'll find five empty Pokeballs, your green Pokedex, a bag of assorted berries, a wallet with 5000 pyen, and two filled Pokeballs. One has your Group 2 starter inside, and the other has your Group 3 one. This empty Pokeball," he pointed to the Pokeball outside the package, "is for your squirtle."
Looking up, he pointed to a map on the wall. "As you can see, three roads leave my lab. The one that goes east is Route 1, taking you to Sapphire City, where Arisa has an ice-type gym. Your Squirtle has no advantage, though the ice attacks won't hit him as hard, so this may be a good decision. The road that swings south is Route 3, taking you to Botan's grass gym in Florak Town. Your Group 2 starter will be in a similar position as your Squirtle, as it has no type advantage or disadvantage unless it evolves a certain way. However, on Route 3 you can catch a flying type to help you, so I would recommend that route. Route 5, the road that goes north, takes you into the mountains to Bahati of Nga's steel-type gym. Your Group 3 starter has a disadvantage, though you could catch plenty of Pokemon with type advantages on the way."
Looking at David, he nodded. "Well, it's your choice. If I were you, I would go on Route 3 or 5, since you can catch Pokemon to help you in the gym, unlike Route 1. However, you make the final decision."
Ushering David out the door, he shouted, "I hope you have a good journey!"
((Oooookay...stats...
Squirtle Gender: male Level: 5 Group: 1 Nickname: Zenigame or Zen, for short (though you may change it) Notes: he speaks Japanese as well as English! Ability: Torrent: when health is below 1/3, the power of water-type moves goes up Attacks: Tackle, Tail Whip Personality: Very polite and kind, though he sometimes gets a little paranoid if he isn't polite ENOUGH. He gets excited about battling and exploring, and loves to make new friends. He isn't too good about thinking up what to do in battle, though...so he relies purely on what his trainer says.
Eevee Gender: female Level: 25 Group: 2 Nickname: whatever you want Ability: Run Away: she can escape from wild battles easily Attacks: Tail Whip, Sand Attack, Growl, Quick Attack Personality: Cheery, but paranoid about pretty much everything. She's afraid of her opponents, of where she's going, and even about the grass (what if she gets cut?!). However, she simply adores David...and is not afraid of ghosts. At all.
Ralts Notes: He's shiny...but blind Gender: male Level: 45 Group: 3 Nickname: you choose Item: He wears dark glasses, since he's blind. Ability: Synchronize: when he's inflicted with a status condition, his opponent gets the same thing Attacks: Will-O-Wisp, Calm Mind, Psychic, Hypnosis Personality: A nice guy, but a little self-conscious (especially about being blind). He sees relatively well through his psychic power, but still feels that there is something wrong with him. On the other hand, he really likes to cook, and feels like it makes him worth something when he churns out a tasty meal. His specialty is baking, and his chocolate chip cookies are to die for.
If you want your Eevee or Ralts to know moves they would have known had they been raised from level 5, then visit the Move Relearner. Other than that...it's off to Route 1/3/5 with you!))
