A small bird fluttered through the mansion's crumbled entrance, and hovered around the decreipt mudroom curiously.
<Wow... I'd hate to live here,> she chirped. As she did so, a human followed her through the door, holding a hankercheif over her mouth.
"Of all the places we could be right now, it has to be a sdusty, melly, rotty, moldy old house..." She muttered, and caughed. The pidgey scoffed at her bland-datured trainer.
<Where's your sense of adventure, then? Remember, we came here to catch that steel type everyone's been talking about. So keep focused, you.> She chirped again, and flew down to her favourite perch- her trainer's right shoulder. <C'mon! Get looking!>
Kailee nodded, and caughed again into the hankercheif. Her pokemon's featheres ruffled at the sudden jerk of her shoulders.
Looking around, the trainer noted she had on of three options. Directly in front of her was a staircase, and the mudroom was connected to a hallway, which led to an east and west wing. What had this old mansion been, all those years ago? Glancing both ways, it seemed the hallways led forever. It made her shudder thinking what could be lurking here. She chose the rickety old staircase.
She climbed up, feeling far from 'adventurous.' She was, however, feeling more stuffed up. Never in her life had she been in a building so dusty. Back at home they'd hired a maid to clean the house every week. Each step creaked under her feet, and she could only hope they wouldn't cave in.
When she made it to the top, she heaved a sigh of relief, only to start another caughing fit. Allergies, perhaps. But when she was done, she heard a sound- one neither made by she or Twilly. She paused, listening.
