Spice Seaport
The city is much like Storm Harbor, with the gaily painted houses leading to to the wharves and spreading away from the protective harbor in a huge semi-circle. Unlike Storm Harbor, however, the town is not honeycombed both above and below, and as can be seen from the colors on the houses, the residents here prefer bright to white -- unlike the white, blue, and gray loving people of Storm Harbor.
The people here are more prosperous, although poorer than those of Ke-Hipa Point, the divide between rich and poor is hardly as pronounced. Most people make their livings as shop keepers, or captains and sailors on the large cargo ships that drift in and out of the harbor. There are several carpenters, and even some Righteous Sisters of Shaymin nuns, who have a neat little cloister built above the harbor, and run the local school.
The only real pokemon center on the Miteinjan is located in Spice Seaport, and the nursing staff there are exceedingly busy, as they often get called out to areas to help other hospitals and workers. The two young men, however, are usually helpful, if you can catch them when they aren't running out the door.
The three gyms are, of course, the biggest attraction of the town to traveling trainers. Oddly enough, all of the gyms are located on Market Street, where the well-to-do merchants keep their shops. The pride and joy of Spice Seaport is, of course, the famous spice shop, The Powder Peddler (est. 1124), but the daughter of the owner is the final Spore League gym leader.
The biggest trade in Spice Seaport is no longer the spices, however. It has turned to jewelry and gem stones, and the finest boutique in that area is The Jewel Box. The man who cuts the stones, and places them into necklaces and earrings is the strongest gym leader in the Shell League, and he sometimes will give out more than just pyen and a badge.
Finally, if you head down Market Street, away from these two big store fronts, you will find a seedy gambling den at the very end, Trader's Choice. The lady behind the counter there owes her job to Caesar Morgan, and can throw a mean attack, as well.
The Powder Peddler
This is a warm shop smelling of herbs and spice. Glass jars line the walls of the wooden front room, and light filters in from the huge picture window, and the large overhead lamp in the evenings. The counter is wooden, but below is a glass display case where truffles and other products of the spice are displayed and sold. Usually Jess Eyebright serves as the clerk behind the counter, wrapping up purchases in brown paper bags, and tying ribbons around them. Her father, and owner of the store, George Eyebright, is usually in the back, making cinnamon truffles, the Powder Peddler's signature product.

The Spore League Gym
If you go up to the counter and challenge Jess, she will get her younger brother to mind the shop as she goes out to the Market Square, which is located at the top of market street. Stalls where people sell cloth and trinkets line the area, but at the center of the square is the statue representing "Progress" and a couple of benches. You will get to sleep on a bench, while one of your pokemon battles Jess on the orange and white flagstones of the square.
Gym Leader - Jess Eyebright the Spicer's Daughter
Jess has grown up in her father's legend. George took off from his family on a pokemon journey when he was ten, while his father tried to keep the business limping along. George came back at 17, having a pretty abysmal record as a trainer, but a cute girlfriend, and the cooking skills he had picked up at the part-time job he'd had to earn money in order to feed his pokemon. Overnight he reinvented the failing business, turning the oldest store in Miteinjan into more of a confectioner's than a spice merchant's house of business. His truffles are now exported world wide, and he married the cute girlfriend.
Jess, their daughter, doesn't have her father's talent with cooking, but she does have it with money, and does all of the accounts. Most people believe that when her father passes on, Jess will find someone to do the chocolates, and just control the business side of the business. However, what she lacks in her father's cooking skills, she makes up for with her mother's training abilities. On the weekends she used to do demonstrations in the Market Square with her pokemon to collect some personal cash (her parents didn't give her any allowance because they felt that would spoil her). Pretty soon word got around about her abilities. Her family knew some people at the travel bureau, and soon after the new tourism campaign was launched, they offered her the position of gym leader for the Spore League. Jess uses her hypno, Night Creepy, to send her opponents to sleep, and then will use which ever of her pokemon she feels could use the most practice.
In person, Jess would not seem that remarkable. She is of average height with brown hair and a squeaky voice. She wears contacts, or glasses, depending on the time of day, and her blue eyes water if she's been squinting too much. However, outside of her polite shell as a clerk in the shop, Jess is an aggressive battler with the confidence of a very confident person indeed.

The Jewel Box
Just across the street from The Powder Peddler is the most successful business in town. The Jewel Box is an airy, well lit gallery, filled with display cases where the hard work of the staff artists is displayed on black velvet. Closer to the back, where the resident jewel smith works, are the most expensive pieces. Perhaps five will be sold per year, at most. Families save millions of pyen to give a bride a necklace from the back of the shop. In the windows and glass cases at the front, however, the less expensive works of art reside. These only cost hundreds to thousands of pyen each, depending on what a person wants. The shop is also happy to give you pyen in exchange for raw materials. The Shell League Gym
Just as with Jess, the actual battle takes place in Market Square, however, you still have to hunt up Fell Addams in The Jewel Box. His workshop in in the back, to one side of the sales counter. He is usually bent over his magnifying glass, searching through gems for ones without flaws. The work room is well lit, and very organized, with the power tools in one area, and his large sketch board in another. Fell likes to get out, though, so he'll be glad if a trainer comes to challenge him for the spiny jewel box shell of the Treasure Badge.
Gym Leader - Fell Addams the Perfectionist
Fell is young and tall, although his shoulders slup forward from bending over his jeweler's bench all the time. The sea port agrees that there is nothing more entertaining than watching Fell try to fit his long, skinny limbs under her desk when he sits down to work. Most people think that he looks a bit like a fair-haired spider, although he disagrees. He says he's just a giant who forgot to grow wider as he grew upward, and soon ran out of fuel to continue on his way to hit the clouds.
Fell always dressed neatly in embroidered waist coats, and brushes his hair until it shines. He's a bit of a peacock in this regard, but he's an artist, and it's not surprising that he cares about physical appearance. As long as his bottle green slacks don't get muddy he's happy as a bug in a rug.
His battle style is quick and clean, and his favorite moves try to avoid taking damage, such as double team.

The Bank
Half way down market street you can find one of the Miteinjan banks. Go in and check out your account information.
Pokemon Center
The Pokemon Center is actually located on a side street from the Market Square, and away from Market Street. If you get lost, just ask for directions. Everyone knows where it is.
The Gambling Den
If, however, you decide to follow Market Street to its very end, you'll end up in the seedier area of Spice Seaport. The only marked building here is Trader's Choice and it's best not to ask what goes on in the unmarked businesses in this area.
Trader's Choice is even smaller than Chansey's Palace in Ke-Hipa. There is a smokey card room, a main foyer, and the manager's office, all on the first floor. Nothing happens upstairs. However, if you go up to the desk, the girl manning it will not ask you age. You had better make it clear that you are there for a gym battle, or you might find yourself in a game of Abra's Cups before you know it.
The Blizzard League Gym
Behind the counter are three back rooms where they store carpets, cleaning supplies, and broken chairs. Your pokemon will be frozen by the gym leader's Snover, Berryberry, and then Berryberry will put you to sleep with Grasswhistle. As soon as you pokemon is placed behind the appropriate door, you'll be woken by the gym leader, given an ice heal, and escorted to the door of your choosing.
Gym Leader - Clara the Cute
Clara worked as a counter girl for the Nishihara corporation. While doing that, they found out that her hobby happened to be coordinating, and she was a decent trainer. When Caesar Morgan was looking around for new gym leaders for the Leagues he had funded, her bosses promoted Clara and sent her over to Miteinjan.
She finds her current office a little disturbing, but the Nishihara Corporation has given her a shopping allowance, and an apartment in Spice Seaport, which is a pretty good deal, as far as Clara is concerned. She is a shopaholic, and the gym leading thing can actually be pretty fun.
Clara is rather cutesy. As a participant in constest, she thinks she's actually pretty low-key, as she doesn't dress all in pink, or wear a lot of ruffles and lace. She does wear black pants and a white blouse with a blue silk scarf as part of her uniform for Trader's Choice, but her sober image is ruined once she opens her mouth. Sweet, and always wearing rose colored glasses, Clara doesn't seem very competant until the pokemon are out. Even then, you don't notice that she's winning until she's won. But Clara just wants to be nice about it, and make friends.
