Beach Houses:
Are a collection of lovely summer shacks just off the beach among sandy dunes. Fresh and airy in the summer, and absolutely miserable to live in for the rest of the year. There are possibly seven of these one story houses all told, and trainers are encouraged to camp on the sands. Most residents walk over to the Bait Shop, or go to Coast Village to buy groceries.
Sand Dollar house:
The first gym of the Shell League, one of Miteinjan's five varying pokemon leagues. This is the most traditional league, where the participating trainers battle for the gym badge, in this case the Disguise Badge, shaped like a sand dollar, and if the rumors are correct, made out of bone.
Gym Leader: Finnian the Fisherman
Don't let his old age fool you, Finnian is a tough customer (but he has a kind heart, which is why he challenges the beginners to test their mettle). His fighting style makes the fight come to him, before pounding the opponent to the ground. Be warned, he likes to use a lot of evasion rising stats boosters before he attacks.
Pokemon:
Sandy (Sandshrew)
Gender: Male
Level: 9
Ability: Sand Veil - evasion raises during Sandstorm
Moves: Defense Curl, Sand Attack, Sandstorm, and Scratch
Personality: Sandy is quick tempered and ready to spring into battle, which doesn't always suit Finnian.
Mary (Marill)
Gender: Female
Level: 11
Ability: Thick Fat - Doesn't feel heat or cold all that much
Moves: Defense Curl, Rollout, Tail Whip, Water Gun
Personality: Mary is the oddity among Finnian's pokemon. Her good solid nature makes her one of the favorites, but she doesn't have the moves Finnian usually likes to use, so when she enters a battle things become unorthodox.
Annie (Anorith)
Gender: Female
Level: 13
Ability: Hyper Cutter - Attack cannot be reduced
Moves: Sand Attack, Swords Dance, Scratch, Water Gun
Annie is a special girl, and new to being a gym pokemon. She's a little shy, and loves to have the ends of her claws tickled. If you do that she'll be very friendly.
Reward: Disguise Badge, 200 pyen
Switch House:
This is the the first gym of the second league in Miteinjan, the Confusion League. Located just where the wet sand of the beach turns into the drier sand dunes, this house is still standing from when an earthquake hit the island in 1803. The summer house was split in half, and now resembles an egg shell, open to the heavens. Well, the leader here covers the rent in the roof with a piece of tarp when the weather is bad, but usually the two halves of the house are like open air porches.
The Confusion League has you switch one of your pokemon with the gym leader's at random, and then you battle. Not for the inexperienced trainer, as it can really confuse your own pokemon, and even make them feel abandoned, if they're temperamental.
Gym Leader: Blanche Carios the Artist
Blanche came to the the Beach Houses to paint the sea. Seven years later she had covered her rented split cottage in unsold paintings, and the Miteinjan Travel Bureau contacted her to act as a gym leader for the new pokemon league they were forming. She was happy to have enough money to live on, and accepted.
Pokemon:
One (Girafarig)
Gender: Female (although her tail thinks differently)
Level: 10
Ability: Early Bird - Awakens early from sleep
Moves: Growl, Astonish, Confusion, Stomp
Personality: One suffers from having two personalities, one in her front, and one in her rear. She doesn't battle well unless the mischievous tail can agree with the nervous head.
Two (Castform)
Gender: Male
Level: 10
Ability: Forecast - This pokemon's type changes depending on the weather outside
Moves: Tackle, Water Gun, Ember, Powder Snow
Personality: He loves to zoom around, and have fun, rarely staying serious for a moment. He is carefree, and light-hearted, which can be difficult to handle when you need him to concentrate.
Three (Butterfree)
Gender: Male
Level: 10
Ability: Compound Eyes - this pokemon's accuracy is greatly enhanced
Moves: Tackle, String Shot, Harden, Confusion
Personality: Three is very serious, and disapproves of his fellow teammates because he doesn't feel that they are effective battlers.
Reward: For putting up with a pokemon that you've never met before you get 1000 pyen and a randomly selected pokemon out of the ones listed here at level 12: Baltoy, Bronzor, Drowzee, Girafarig, Lunatone, Meditite, Mime Jr., Ralts, Solrock, or Venonat.
Please note, if you accept one of these pokemon at this Confusion League gym, you cannot accept a pokemon at any other Confusion League gym. All Confusion League pokemon are marked, and recorded, and a trainer who already has one will not get another one. All Confusion League gym leaders will tell you which pokemon they have for you on the day that you beat them. If you don't want to accept that pokemon you can decline it when you get your prize money.
Zen House
This is a modest beach house set a little away from the others, and the first house you will see after leaving the rope elevators, although the road doesn't go up to it. The Zen House is home to Miteinjan's prize winning Most Intense Rock Garden. Coincidentally, this is also home to Miteinjan's first Toxic League gym.
The Toxic League is another one of Miteinjan's unorthodox gym leagues. If a trainer wishes to challenge a gym they must pick one Pokemon that is not a poison type, or in anyway immune to poison. The gym leader's pokemon will use toxic on your pokemon and then run into the gym's maze.
You and your pokemon must reach the end before he or she faints, where the gym leader is waiting with the antidote. At various junctions in the maze you will be met with a pokemon who will give you a riddle. If you get the riddle wrong you will be challenged to battle. Be warned, the toxic attack will make your pokemon faint if you stay too long in the maze (if you are there for more than 7 posts).
Gym Leader: Morwen Chokevine the Hex Maniac
Morwen wears a lot of black, and keeps many skitty, meowth, delcatty, persian, glameow, and purugly. She is a member of the Miteinjan Hex Maniac Traveling Society, and actually started the Toxic League before the Miteinjan Travel Bureau requested it. She says it was just an experiment in driving people crazy, originally, but the challenge turned out to be a lot of fun.
Her carnivine is the pokemon that usually does the poisoning, and he has a wicked sense of humor, so watch out, he might try to tickle you with his vines.
Riddling Pokemon:
Scorn (Glameow)
Gender: Female
Level: 12
Ability: Own Tempo - This pokemon cannot become confused
Moves: Fake Out, Scratch, Growl
Personality: Superior and sarcastic, Scorn is certain that she knows everything, and when you get and answer right she will merely look down her nose at you as she directs you onwards.
Chaos (Skitty)
Gender: Male
Level: 12
Ability: Cute Charm - Has a chance of infatuating opponent after physical attack
Moves: Attract, Tackle, Fake Out, Tail Whip
Personality: Chaos is active and playful, and he likes to trick people, so watch out.
Grendle (Meowth)
Gender: Male
Level: 12
Ability: Technician - Low power moves gain a boost from meowth's precision
Moves: Growl, Scratch, Bite, Fake Out
Personality: Grendle wants a fight, and he will try to provoke you into one if you meet him as a questioner.
Reward: For having the smarts to get you and your pokemon through the maze you get 1000 pyen and a randomly selected pokemon out of the ones listed here at level 12: Dustox, Gulpin, Roselia, Stunky, and Combee.
Please note, if you accept one of these pokemon at this Toxic League gym, you cannot accept a pokemon at any other Toxic League gym. All Toxic League pokemon are marked, and recorded, and a trainer who already has one will not get another one. All Toxic League gym leaders will tell you which pokemon they have for you on the day that you beat them. If you don't want to accept that pokemon you can decline it when you get your prize money.
Computer Guru's House:
This is the guy who always brings his laptop to the beach. He spends most of his time on the porch of his little house, playing video games on his laptop. However, he can also check your bank account, or your PC if you ask nicely. He might even be able to give you technological help in other areas, as well.
Lifeguard's Hut:
If you need medical help of any kind, come here. The hut is painted bright red, and has the tall look out chair right next to it. The lifeguard, Guy, is usually watching over the beach, but he's happy to help in any circumstances. Most of the time he'll direct you inside to Veronica, his fellow life guard, who knows more about pokemon medicine than he does, though. Veronica is a little bratty, but she will get the job done.
Wildlife Rescue:
A lot of pokemon get washed up on the more dangerous beaches along the coast, or damaged during storms. However, since those areas are dangerous, the Rangers, Phil and Melicent, who patrol the coast have located their headquarters on the beach with the less excitable weather. There will usually be a pokemon or two there recuperating. Stop by and chat with the Ranger manning the station. They might even let you play with the radio.
Current pokemon:
Two corsola, both are looking a little pale, and have been taken to the rescue station to recuperate and regrow. One has a rather fiery temper, and squeaks when he's annoyed, while the other one is very lethargic, and doesn't move much. They don't know if it is because she is sick, or just apathetic.
Bait Shop
Here is the general store where most of the residence of the beach get their wares. Run by a quiet man, if you'll look closely you might see a resemblance to the Sand Dollar Gym's Finnian. George is Finnian's son, and has set up shop to be near his old man in case of trouble.
Here is what he has for sale:
Trainer Items
Pokeballs - 500 pyen for three
Potions - 200 pyen

Local Pokemon
There are a lot of shore birds and other pokemon who live among the dunes, the sandy beach, and the shallows of the salty sea. You could try training against them, or perhaps catching some of them.
