(And me without my popcorn.)
Ruby uses another ember attack, mostly unaffected by the fake tears.

The mawile curled up in a little ball on the ground as the flame washed over her, melting her in blaces, and making her glow red hot in others. But when the fires stopped, she was nowhere to be found.
<She must be trying one last faint attack,> the geodude observed. <All right, Rain! You've got her on the ropes!>
Indeed, the steel type came bursting out of a shadow behind Ruby, and slammed her red hot body into the dragon type.

Ruby retaliates with one last ember attack before being knocked back by the Mawhile.

With a cry, the mawile fell to the floor. She raised her head, jaws snapping furiously at Ruby's feet, and then lay limply, sprawled across the floor of the tunnel like a broken doll, bits of her melted and shiny.
A piece of paper appeared in Rain's left hand. On it was the simple statement of facts.
"Your bagon has defeated a level 26 mawile. Ruby gains 1 level. Ruby is now level 26."

"Alright, lets do this, go pokeball!" Rain says, and tosses a pokeball at the Mawile.

The ball slammed into the steely head of the steel-type, and the Pokemon collapsed digitally into a red light. The Pokeball closed around the mawile, hit the ground, and started to rock.
After rocking a few times, it stopped, signalling a successful capture.
Rain's Pokedex beeped, and a display of the mawile's stats glowed on the screen.
"Mawile Level: 26 Group: 2 Gender: Female Nickname: whatever Ability: Intimidate: opponent's attack stat is lowered upon Mawile's entry to battle Attacks: Sweet Scent, Fake Tears, Vicegrip, Faint Attack Personality: A mischevious girl who likes to act innocent before chomping with her other jaw. She's upbeat, though she always has a trick up her sleeve. Her favorite trick to play is to rearrange all of Rain's items so she can't find anything (she thinks this is extremely funny, for some reason). She's an okay-ish battler...but an even better baker. Bread, cake, cookies, strudel...you name it, she'll bake it, even though it involves fire."

Rain places the pokeball on her belt. "Time to get moving, I guess," she says.

"<Sure. And good job with the capture, by the way...the way I see it, the fewer of those infernal mawile around here, the better,>" Geodude muttered before rolling along the tunnel with Rain. Soon they came to another fork, this time with just two paths. The rock-type turned to the human to give her her options. "We now have two choices. One looks pretty level, and keeps going straight. The other one turns left, and I can't see too far down it...I think it pulls a U-turn, though I could be wrong. It also looks like it goes down a little, at least in the beginning.>"
"<So, Miss, which'll it be, then?>"

"Lets try, this one," Rain says, and points at the one that seems to go down a little.

"<Works for me,>" Geodude grunts as he rolls slightly ahead of the challenger.
All of a sudden...another mawile runs out.
"<Die you stupid challenger!>" She shrieked as she blankly charged Rain.
"<Attack before you get bitten!>" The guide yelled, waving his rock arms. "<There have been serious injuries from mawile bites!>"

"Go Ruby!" Rain shouts, and tosses her pokeball, and the Bagon appears, before blasting the Mawile with an ember attack.

Lucky for Ruby, the mawile was hit in the mouth, one of the weakest spots. The blast also caused her to slam into a rock, hitting her head in an awkward position and promptly knocking her out. The Geodude glanced at the mawile. "Judging by the size, this is a level 26 mawile, so your bagon should have gained one level. I think she's level 27 now..." If Rain looked down the tunnel, she would see there was nowhere to go but forward. ((Bleh...OHKOs are easy to write...-_-; )

"Good job Ruby, how about I just keep you out, just in case," Rain says, and the Bagon jumps on her shoulder. She takes a look down the tunnel, and shrugs, going in the only direction she can.

Just as they reached a sharp right turn, a diglett popped out of the ground.
"<Hi! I'm supposed to challenge you to a battle!>" He said in a happy tone of voice.

"Okay, go Ruby!" Rain says, and her Bagon jumps off her shoulder. "Use your psychic attack!"

The diglett shrieked as all sorts of strange un-thoughts invaded his mind and slammed into his body. After he shook the effect off, he took a moment to catch his breath before burrowing underground.

A dig attack... Rain thinks, and pauses to concentrate.

The diglett suddenly spurted up through the loamy soil below Ruby's feet, aiming to use the ground's force and the force of his moving body to attack.
((Hooray for Digs and Writer's Block. >_<;;; ))

"Ruby, psychic!" Rain says, and Ruby uses psychic not only on the Diglet, but to lift herself up from the attack.
(Yes, she still gets damaged a little.)

The diglett, being able to catch his breath in the absence of an oncoming attack, turned around to the soft soil he dug up. He then spun around, causing it to fly up around Ruby's floating body in a Mud Slap.
He figured that, since he liked it when he didn't have to take a hit, lowering his opponent's accuracy would be a smart move.
