((Tell me in the actual post, not the OOC notes. It's easier that way. -_-;; ) With a stifled shriek, the crab's claw retreated with a "swhip" sound. Krabby winced, letting that claw fall to the ground, as it couldn't move from the burning feeling the Absorb induced. However, the other claw zoomed out with another Vicegrip.

The attack hits, and knocks Lombre back a little bit. "Lombre, use Astonish!" Rain commands.

The crustacean froze up for a minute, nerves not quite obeying. The beady eyes glanced around hurriedly, since while the attack barely hurt at all, it certainly was surprising.
So the krabby didn't attack the lombre.
((I apologize for the Mew-awful writing in this post. I seem to have Writer's Block...))

The crab feinted left, allowing the absorption to only scratch the surface of the exoskeleton on one of the scuttling legs. The claws were then brought down at Lombre's face, aiming a Vicegrip at one of her most vulnerable areas - her eyes.
((Iiiiick...>_<;; ))

((Blech. Me too...well, time to end this, then! I find that the best cure for lack of ideas is to kill whatever is lacking in it. X3 *is evil* ))
Suddenly, a brick dropped on the crab's and knocked it out.
((How's that for endin' it? X3 ))
Rain's Pokedex beeped, indicating that her level 17 Lombre had defeated a level 14 krabby, giving it half a level. And, if Rain was having a mathless-moment, that meant her formerly-level 17 Lombre had become a level 17 1/2. Joy to the Pokemon World.

((And now everybody on Route 2 is armed with a krabby. Hahaha, my evil plan to populate the world with krabby is working! X3 In case you couldn't tell...I really like krabby. X3 Even though I've never had the chance to train one. T_T Oh well...krabby is a good Pokemon for Matthew's gym, since it learns Harden as well as a water-type attack. *nod nod* A good combination.))
The Pokeball rocked a few times before dinging shut. Rain's Pokedex beeped as it received the stats, while the Pokeball itself disappeared into the intricate PC system.
"Krabby Gender: Male Level: 14 Group: 1 Nickname: whatever you want Ability: Hyper Cutter: attack cannot be lowered Attacks: Bubble, Leer, Vicegrip Personality: Kind of intense...he doesn't talk a whole lot. He just focuses on what he has to do, when he has to do it, and makes sure it's the best he can possibly do. So he's a really great battler. He gets angry a little easily, though, but other than that, is relatively easily to get along with. Well, if you get along well with obsessed overachievers, that is."

"<I challenge you!>" Came the kind-of-high-pitched voice as its paws slammed against the ground.

The nidoran was knocked back, and froze up suddenly. "<Stupid...flinching...condition...>" it muttered.
((Blech, neither do I. I plan to keep all peoples on the before-the-lake part of Route 2 until all their Pokemon are level 16 or above...so...eh...use those Rare Candies...>_<;;;;
Or maybe I should only do it so two or three of their Pokemon are level 16 or above? I mean, you only need three Pokemon for the versus-Matthew fight...))

((Nah, Hera isn't a good Pokemon to train in a marshy route. Remember the fight against the Tangela? It was a disaster...you don't really want a dead torchic. ^_^;;;;;;;;; I'd suggest training her in the Altering Mansion, as you don't already have a thread there. Plus, it's not a problem to train her in a dry environment!))
The mud splooshed up all around the nidoran, thoroughly caking the poison-type with the ground and the water. It whimpered before shooting a poisonous spike at Lombre with a fearsome Poison Sting.
((Do you need a suggestion for a nickname? Or do you just like "Lombre"? ^_^;; ))

(I can't think of a good nickname, I usualy go with human names for some reason, never could figure out why, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.)
The attack hits Lombre, but she's not out yet, and retaliates with anothere Astonish.
(Good point, one thread in Altering Mansion coming up, after I think of a good title.)

((Do you want me to suggest one? Here are some female ones to fit a Pokemon who likes water: Mizuki, Aqua, Marina, Lachina (w007 for Scottish names!)...or Lyn (or Lynne, Lynna, etc.), cuz it's derived from "lake". Or anything ends with "Lyn". I think Lynne is a pretty name, don't you?))
Again, the nidoran froze for a bit, unable to attack for the turn. Stupid Astonish.
((And stupid Writer's Block. Sorry. >_< ))

((*Writer's Block come back* Oh great...now I have Zombie Writer's Block! )) The nidoran gave a muffled "eep" as the mud formed a wave, crashing down on him and shoving him into the marsh. He floated to the surface as an unseen krabby or something from inside the water swam him off to a place to heal. Rain's Pokedex beeped. "Your level 17 1/2 Lombre defeated a level 15 Nidoran, giving your Lombre 1/2 a level. That brings Lombre up to level 18."
