Isis was skippig down the road, singing happily to one of her favourite songs: "Keeeeeeeep hoooolllldddiinngggg onnnnnnnnn! Coz you know we'll make it through we'll make it through! Juuuust staaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy stroooongggggg! Coz you know I'm here for you I'm here for you!" Isis slowed and stopped. She had almos frozen on the spot. She had written that song for her and her best friend Lisa. Where was Lisa now? She didnt know... To say Isis missed her would be the understatement of the century. She sighed and continue to walk on.
Isis was going to the lab to get the pokemon that would stay with her for her life hopefully. Isis reminded herself of this and smiled again. When she reahed the lab door she smiled and knocked...KNOCK...KNOCK...KNOCK...

The professor opened the door, and took a good look at the girl. He then gave an aggravated sigh. "You wouldn't happen to be an undercover Jenta Postal Service worker, would you, eh?" The professor ran a hand through his frizzy white hair, rolling his blue eyes. "They're two days late in delivering a very important package for my research. But I'm sure you don't want to hear about that. Come in, come in," he said as he waved in Isis. Once she was inside, he let the door slam shut, and then took another good look at Isis. "You're...oh, that girl who's supposed to get her starters today. I'm bad with names...it's not Iris, is it? Anyway, I'm sure you read up on the group system, but if you didn't," a pamphlet appeared from his lab pocket and was thrust into Isis' hands. "Read up on this. At this lab, you get three starter Pokemon, one for each group. However, your Group 2 and 3 starters are random, and you have no say in what you get. However," he pointed to a list tacked on a nearby wall. "You do get to pick your Group 1 starter. The Group 1 starters we offer are on that list." The old man turned back to "Iris". "So, what are you interested in, hm?" ((The "pamphlet" on the group system: Pamphlet on the Classes SystemThe "list on the wall": Avialiable PokemonIf you have any questions, please ask! ^_^))

Isis smiled at the professor before walking into the lab. She listened to what he said and replied "Oh yes I have read everything. I think its the best system ever!!!!!" she said happily excepting the leaflet and making sure she knew everything by flicking through it. "Oh and it's Isis. I'm hoping to be a famous singer soon..." She trailed off as her blond hair fell infront of her eyes. "It might take me a while to decide," she said when she had reached the list on the wall. Hmm, now she would take a while to decide...
Isis decided the best way to do this would be the process of elimination. She quickly noted in her head a list of all the pokemon.
Zigzagoon, Igglybuff, Ratatta, Torchic, Slugma, Charmander, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Azurill, Squirtle, Totodile, Treeko, Oddish, Bulbasaur, Chickorita, Sandshrew, Pidgey, Electrike, Pichu, Poochyena, Aron, Zubat, Ekans, Geodude, Wurmple, Caterpie, Mankey
Ok well she wasnt that big a fan of rock and fighting so that she could cross geodude and mankey off the list. Also, bug pokemon cant get that strong so that was them off as well. Also slugma, torchic and treeko looked a bit strange in her opinion. She didnt think ekans, oddish, electrike, igglybuff or zubat would be right for her either. Also totodile, ratatta, squirtle, bulbasaur and aron didnt really suit her personality. Pichu, azurill and chickorita were too cute and charmander and cyndiquil werent cute enough. That left Zigzagoon, mudkip, sandshrew, pidgey and poochyena. Not poochyena or zigzagoon. Not mudkip. Sandshrew or pidgey? Hmmmm...
Finally Isis looked up, turned round and said, "Can I have a pidgey please? And do we get to choose the gender and nature or do you pick?"

"You can choose whatever gender you would like, and if you have a personality in mind that is always a wonderful help to you as a trainer. If you know what you would like to see in a pokemon beforehand, chances are that you will get along better with that pokemon," Professor Cherry nodded, liking the business like way that Isis (not Iris, he reminded himself) had gotten down to the point.
"Sorry for calling you Iris, by the way," he added appologetically, clearning his throat. "I hd a trainer in here a few days ago named Iris. She managed to get me to part with a shiny aron, an aerodactyl, and a shiny marreep for her starters. It was quite a coup. I have no idea how she managed to pull it off, actually. The computer generated suggestions for group two and three starters often makes some trainers very lucky. Let's hope that you are the same. So, why dn't you tell me the personality of the pidgey that you think would siut you best, and I'll see if I have it in stock. I try to carry a wide range of pokemon with varying personalities, but sometimes things don't work out as planned."

Isis smiled. "Great," she said. "And that Iris sounded really cool. I would be honoured if you called me Iris." She did an 'over the top' bow and then looked up and and laughed. "Ok well could I have a female pidgey with a loving and loyal nature?" she said. She had made her decision a long time ago. She needed a pokemon that would be loyal to her but also love her. There was no point having a pokemon that was loyal but didnt love her nor was there any pointy having a pokemon that loved her but wasnt loyal! She wanted the perfect pokemon and since she had decided which nature and gender and now which pokemon she thought the perfect pokemon was the perfect pidgey!

"All right, then," the Professor's white mustache went up in a smile. "While I get your starter, and prepare your starter package, perhaps you could tell me what pokedex color you would like? We have black, red, pink, light blue, and green at the moment. I'm afraid dark blue is out of stock at the moment."
Having told Iris this, he shuffled over to the racks with their pokeballs, and ran his fingers along the row marked "Normal." He found pidgey easily enough, and began to sort through the pokeballs, muttering about the fact that the ekans should be doing this.
However, over by the computer both snake pokemon were entering things into the keyboard with impatient jabs of their tails. Haru looked up, although it was unlikely that Isis knew that it was Haru, since she had never been formally introducted to the male ekans. <Just tell us your perfered pokedex color, and then your trainer registration will be all set, miss.>

Isis smiled at the professor and thought about the colours. She was quite a girly-girl so pink immediatly jumped out at her. She looked over to the ekans that had spoken to her. "Er could I get a pink one?" she asked. Her eyes floated around the large lab, it really was something! She looked over at the professor and waited for the pidgey of her dreams to come

<Thank you,> Hana said, as Haru entered the data into the computer. Unlike her mate, Hana's voice was more sibilant and softer. Turning her head she called out: <That was one pink one, Professor, and the computer spit out a grass/fire alternate starter package for her, a number 6.>
Professor Cherry nodded, plucked a pokeball from the lot entitled "pidgey" and shuffled off to the back room. He returned only a few seconds later with seven other pokeballs, a small bag, one pink pokedex, and a wallet balaned precariously in his arms. Carefully he set each item down on the table in front of Isis.
"Alright. This is your starter package. Inside you'll find your pink Pokedex, a wallet with 5000 pyen - that's our currency for Jenta, a bag of assorted berries for on-the-road healing, five empty Pokeballs, and three filled Pokeballs," He paused for breath, and looked a little sheepish.
"Stop me if I'm going too fast. One of the pokeballs belongs to your pidgey, the other two contain your group two pokemon, a torchic, and your group three pokemon, in your case, a troipus. The torchic might be a little hard to handle, because of the level, bt I think you can mange," he nodded, and then lead Isis over to the map of Jenta, and pointed to a dot marked "Jenta Laboratory".
"This is where we are right now. As you can see, there are three routes leaving this laboratory."
He pulled his finger to the right along one of the roads. "This is Route 1, which takes you east to Sapphire City. There Arisa has an ice-type gym. Now, aside from mankey, there are very few Pokemon to catch along the way that give you any sort of advantage. Ironically, Arisa's one of the hardest gym leaders to beat, even though se is the first group one gym leader, and supposedly has the weakest pokemon. I wouldn't go along that route untill you've caught a group one pokemon that isn't weak up against her ice types. The Ruins over here," he pointed to a spot on the map that seemed to move when your eye was off it, but stayed perfectly still while you were staring at it, "the Altering Mansion, might be a good place to check out."
He then traced the southbound route. "This is Route 3, leading south to Botan's grass-type gym in Florak Town. Along the way there are a few Pokemon you can capture to help you, and there are similar Pokemon with advantages found in Sankaku Island, the Underground Maze, and sometimes in the Altering Mansion. I'd suggest starting off here, since your torchic will have an advantage, and will most likely be a combustken by the time you reach this gym."
Finally, his finger moved upwards. "This is Route 5, your final option. It leads you to the Settlement of Nga, which is in Jenta's mountain range in the north, via Sunstone Tunnel. In both Route 5 and Sunstone Tunnel there are many fire and ground-types who can help you defeat Bahati's steel-types. Your troipus will have an advantage over the ground types, but I'd suggest catching one or two rock pokemon in the Underground Maze before starting here to deal with the fire types. This gym might be a bit tricky for your troipus, so train him well."
With that Professor cheer nodded to her, and said: "Well, if you're ready, go out the door and start your adventure."

(lol I love my tropius!!! And my torchic. In fact I love them all ;D) Isis grabbed her items off the table and put them into her bag, except the pokeballs which she put on her belt. She walked over to the map and listened to everything the professor said. Yes route 3 would be a good place to start as her torchic looked grumpy in its pokeball and seemed to want to fight. She smiled at the professor when her had finished, "Thank you so much! This will change my life!" she said smiling even more. She secured her pack and ran off towards route 3, waving back to Professor Cherry as she went.
