Drezlin walked down a long road. He could hear Bird Pokemon chirping and grass Pokemon rustling in the trees. He then saw the lab and readily ran up to the door. He then rang a door bell.

((Er, usually you have to wait until your character is accepted before making a lab post. But meh, you were accepted, so on with the show.))
Professor Cherry looked up from his computer at the strange noise. It had been ages since someone rang the bell intead of knocked so loudly on the door that the walls shook. Over by the window, the two ekans curled up in the sunbeam raised their heads. <Trainer,> hissed the male, Haru. <A polite trainer,> corrected Hana. <Be nice, Professor.>
"I'm always nice," grumbled Professor Cherry as he rose to open the door. "Good morning, and welcome to the Jentan Lab."

"Hello Professor." Drezlin said as he bowed. "May I come in?" He asked.

"Oh, of course," Professor Cherry opened the door even wider and stepped aside. "Come on in. I'm Professor Cherry, and those two layabouts over there are Haru and Hana."
The ekans stuck out their forked tongues at Professor Cherry while his back was turned, and Hana waved the tip of her tail at Drezlin.
"I assume you're here about starting you journey, am I right?" The Professor continued.

"Yes sir" Drezlin said as he walked in and wiped his feet. "I am still trying to decide which to choose. Thought" He added."So do we get one of each group or one from the first group?" He asked confused.

"You may choose your group one level 5 pokemon from the list of starters on the wall," the professor replied. "After that, I input your registration data into the computer, and it generates a list of two other pokemon for your group one and two. Once I find that out, I go into the back room, and prepare your starter set. If you have any questions here's a pamphlet on the group system," Professor Cherry handed Drezlin the folded piece of paper. "And the list of available starters is on the back wall over there. Or do you have any particular starter in mind already?" ((The "pamphlet" on the group system: Pamphlet on the Classes SystemThe "list on the wall": Avialiable Pokemon))

" Oh Ok! Thanks Professor!" He said. "May I have an Aron?" He then asked.

"Why certainly," Professor Cherry replied. "Do you know what gender and personality you would like? It makes it easier for me to pick out a pokemon that could deal well with you. Sadly, I don't know the personality of each trainer who passes by here instantly."

"Jolly male, huh? I think we have one like that..." He shuffled into the back room, and came back shortly with a Pokeball. "Yes, inside this I have a very nice and happy aron. He's steady in battle, friendly, and has a positive attitude. Now then, I just have one more decision for you to make...we have a variety of colors of Pokedexes. We have pink, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, purple, brown, white, grey, and black. Sadly, after I ran out of red ones, I ordered more...and got pink. So you'll have to make do without the possibility of getting a red Pokedex, I'm afraid."

"That is fine" Drezlin said not at all effected by that news. "May I have a Dark blue Pokedex sir?" He asked.

((Alright...this post is long, but please read through it...sorry, the end-of-the-modding-of-the-lab posts are always really long...))
"Dark blue is perfectly fine; usually they go pretty fast, they're popular, so you're lucky to get one," the professor admitted as he took the dark blue Pokedex off the table. Then, with a mumbled "one minute, please," he shuffled off into the back room.
He came back out again a few minutes later, carrying a brown paper package. The old man promptly handed the package to Drezlin, then poked it as he preceded to explain its contents.
"This, boy, is your starter package. Inside, you will find your dark blue Pokedex, a wallet with 5000 pyen - that's our currency in Jenta, a bag of assorted berries for on-the-road healing, five empty Pokeballs, and three filled ones. One of them has your level 5 Group 1 starter, the aron you asked for. The other two have your other starters, the Group 2 starter being at level 25 and the Group 3 starter at level 45." Professor Cherry then stood up. "Now, follow me to this map over here," he ordered, guiding the boy to a large map on one of the walls.
He pointed at a dot near the west coast, just over halfway down, marked "Jenta Laboratory". "This is where we are right now. As you can see, there are three roads coming out from my laboratory, one going east, one going south, and one going north. You may choose to start out on any of the three. However, depending on which one you choose, you will end up using different Pokemon. Each of these routes is populated almost entirely of Pokemon of only one group, meaning only one of your starters will see action right away. So keep that in mind when making your decision."
Professor Cherry then began dragging his finger along the eastbound route. "This here is Route 1, a pleasant route going east along a little creek to Sapphire City. There is also the Mushroom Forest along the way, though you don't need to go in it to reach Sapphire City. In Sapphire City, you will challenge Arisa's ice-type gym. Your aron has a definite disadvantage here, and if you want to challenge this gym, you need to do some serious team-building. Although this is still the most populated route, it also has, ironically enough, the gym regarded as the hardest to start out it. I don't know if I would recommend this one, since it can be a definite time-sink."
He pulled his finger back to the lab dot, then down along the southbound route. "Another choice you have is Route 3. This is a route with three different sort of ecosystems, one mountain, one forest, and one grasslands. It will lead you south to Florak Town, where Botan has her grass-type gym. Now, your Pokemon has a good advantage, and if you teach her a poison-type move, such as Sludge Bomb, you will have no problems using her in the gym. Back her up with some others, and you'll have a winner. I think this would be a good route to start on."
Finally, he traced the line back up to the laboratory, then farther north. "Your final choice is Route 3, which goes up north into Jenta's mountain range. It is a rugged, mountainous route which leads to the entrance of Sunstone Tunnel, which you need to take to go into the underground Settlement of Nga. The gym there is a steel-type gym, run by my old friend, Bahati. Now, your starter doesn't really have any sort of advantage, though he will be able to fight pretty easily in the dark conditions of the gym, and he is pretty maneuverable. Along the way, however, there are many fire-types and ground-types to catch to use as a basis for challenging her gym. I think this may be a good route - there are some great Pokemon along the way, and it's a shame there aren't many trainers there to catch them."
The professor tapped the map once as a finish, then looked back down at Drezil. "Well, that's it on my part, eh? So you are free to go now. You can call me at any Pokemon Center if you need trouble, but other than that, have a good journey, eh?"
---
((Whew! Sorry that was so wordy...it was mostly just professor-talk. -_-
Anyways, here are the stats for your three Pokemon. What you have to do is copy + paste them into the thread you used as your character application - that now serves as your trainer's profile. We ask that you keep the levels, attacks, nicknames (if you choose to use them, if not, just put "N/A"), and abilities (and etcetera) up-to-date, and be sure to put in the stats for every new Pokemon you capture (the mod will give you these in the "adventure" thread, but you are in charge of putting them in the profile).
So here they are, and I hope you like them:
---
Aron Gender: Male Level: 5 Group: 1 Nickname: you choose Ability: Rock Head: receives no recoil damage Attacks: Tackle, Harden, Endeavor Personality: Happy (or "jolly", as some would say), cheerful, and optimistic. Nothing can darken his day, and he always enjoys being out of his Pokeball to enjoy said day to the fullest. He likes to chat with anybody about anything, and enjoys making new friends. However, sometimes he can be a bit slow figuring things out...oh, and he's afraid of fire-types. So keep him away from those.
Spinerak Gender: Female Level: 25 Group: 2 Nickname: you choose Ability: Swarm: when health is low, bug-type attack power rises Attacks: Poison Sting, String Shot, Night Shade, Signal Beam Personality: A bit stuck-up. She thinks she's better than everybody else, and wants them to KNOW it. She loves to battle, since it's a way she can easily show them that yes, she is better than them. She does enjoy spending time with her teammates, though, and is a good team player...as long as her teammates worship the ground she walks on. Deep down, though, she probably cares for them...
Hoothoot Gender: Male Level: 45 Group: 3 Nickname: you choose Ability: Insomnia: opponent cannot put him to sleep (he's very alert, too) Attacks: Hypnosis, Wing Attack, Confusion, Reflect Personality: Aloof, serious, and determined. He battles to the fullest, never giving less than 110%, but doesn't really care to do well in other things...like friendships. It will take a lot of coaxing to even get him to say more than "<yes>", "<no>", "<maybe>", or just a mumbled hoot. However, given time, he may (or may not) open up to his teammates.
---
Just so you know, both your spinerak and hoothoot will evolve almost instantly.
Also, here is basically what you should think about when choosing your starting route:
If you choose Route 1: - You will use aron - You will need to catch a fighting type and/or electric type for the gym - You will need to catch something that is not weak to water or ice for the gym (since you really shouldn't use your aron for the gym)
If you choose Route 3: - You will use spinerak/ariados - You will probably be able to ride on spinerak/ariados a lot with the gym - You will probably want to catch a doduo or pidgeotto for the gym, though this is not necessary
If you choose Route 5: - You will use hoothoot/noctowl - You will need to catch a fire type or ground type for the gym - You will probably be able to use noctowl, but not for much...but he could probably (maybe) be on your gym challenge team
Anyway...without any further ado...off to Route 1/3/5 with you, Dezil! ^_^ YOUR LAB TOPIC IS DONE! *parties* XD ))
