Which to choose... Which to choose... Resha pondered lightly as she paced back and forth outside of the laboratory. They had a lot of starters to choose from... But her top picks had to be totodile, cyndaquill, sandshrew, and pichu. She struggled to weigh the advantages and dissadvantages over each one, wondering which would be the best long-term choice. Resha brushed her short black hair back and wondered about the pokemon for a moment, before making her way to the lab's doors. She extended her hand, and knocked on the door at an even sound, before returning her hand back to her sides. Hopefully, her team would be strong instead of weak like others could be...

Professor Cherry opened the door in his usual good natured manner. The girl, just from her pokeball oriented attire, had to be a new would be trainer. He smiled at her from behind his mustache.
"Welcome to Jenta," he stepped aside, and extended his arm to invite her into the lab. "I'm professor Cherry, it's good to meet you. Are you here for your starters?"

Resha grinned lightly as the door opened, and she listened to the proffessor's words. She flashed him a quick smile, then nodded to his question. I'm Resha, and yes, i'm here to pick up my starters. I'm not sure which one I want, though... I like feraligator, sandslash, and raichu a lot, so I was thinking either a totodile, sandshrew, or pichu... Resha replied, taking a few steps into the lab and glancing around with those maroon shaded eyes of hers. She still had trouble narrowing her top three choices down to one choice, and had to take an extra minute to think about it. Pichu would evolve out of love and a thunderstone, while the other two would need to level up in order to evolve. They were all very strong, and had their talents. I think i'll take a totodile, prefferable male with a loyal nature. And a black pokedex if you have one in stock, too/ Resha knew exactly what she wanted.

"Well that was quick," Professor Cherry replied merrily. He shuffled over to the computer, and began typing the information in. "One moment while the computer complies starter package suggestions. Perhaps you'd care to read the pamphlet we have on the group system?" ((In case you haven't had a chance to read it, although I think you have and get it, here is infor on the group system: Group System Stuff and Junk)) He went over to a shelf and moved along its length before finding the pokeball he wanted. This he set down o the table, "Here you go, Resha. This will be your group one starter. Now the computer, hmm," he glanced over at the dancing numbers, and then nodded. "You have a typical grass/fire combo with your other two starters. One moment." He made his way to the back room, and returned a few minutes later with more pokeballs, and a shoping bag that looked as if it had been crumpled and reused often. Placing the next two pokeballs down he indicated the left one with a tap of his finger. The red top had a flame surmounted by a crecent moon etched on it. "This is your group two starters. He's a houndour, I hope you'll be pleased to know. Your group three starter," his finger switched to the pokeball etched with a single leaf, "is a hoppip. Since she's in group three she'll evolve very quickly, once you start training her." He pushed the starter's pokeballs together, and out of the way, before plonking the plastic bag on the table, and extracting the items that it contained. First was a cheap plastic wallet. "Here are your pyen," he explained. "The Jentan Pokemon League donate 5000 pyen to new trainers when they get their starters. Next we have the berry bag," he pulled out a tan leather pouch. "It's already stocked with berries to help feed your pokemon, but don't be afraid to pick more if you see them. Your pokedex is right here," the shiny black object was plunked down next to the berry bag, and after it came five pokeballs. "Finally, here are you complementary capture devices. Do you have any questions about which routes to take? Or do you have a fair idea of where you want to go on your own?" ((Now for the formulatic, copy and paste into your profile version ^^: POKEMON: Group 1Totodile Name: ? ? ? Level: 5 Gender: Male Attacks: Scratch, Leer Special Ability: Torrent - Ups water moves in a pinch Personality: He's loyal to his trainer -- unless someone has beef jerky to distract him with. He loves the stuff, and he will bite into stranger's packs to get at it if he can smell it. Other than that though, he's a true blue scaley totodile. Group 2Houndour Name: ? ? ? Level: 25 Gender: Male Attacks: Ember, Smog, Howl, Bite Special Ability: Flash Fire - Recovers health if attacked by flame Personality: He's rough and tough, but he does come to care for Resha, despite problems with her water type totodile. It could be worse. He does try to compete with the totodile to prove who is the best. Group 3Hoppip Name: ? ? ? Level: 45 Gender: Female Attacks: Giga Drain, U-Turn, Bounce, Poison Powder Special Ability: Leaf Guard - Recovers from status ailments if Sunny Day is in effect Personality: She's the most easy going of the group, and would be happy to stop and sniff the flowers. She also has a particular fondness for bug pokemon and would like one as a pet. PACK 1 Pokedex (black) 1 Berry Bag (assorted contents) 5 Pokeballs 5000 pyen

Resha grinned widely as the items were offered to her, and she agreeable took them, very happy with the starters she recieved. The teenager flashed the proffessor a quick smile, attaching the three pokeballs to her leather belt. I have a question or two. So, basically, if I chose to start on Route 1 then I can only use my totodile until I catch more group one pokemon, right? And, if I beat all of the gyms there, then am I allowed to move onto the next area (group 2 area)? She asked with a gentle voice, tucking the pyen into her pockets and the rest of the items into a small black bag.

The professor nodded. "Sorry for not explaining that earlier. For your first route, you may choose to start out with Route 1, 3, or 5. There are two routes, two towns, and two gyms in each group's section of Jenta - that means 6 gym badges to get before you can challenge the champion in the Underwater Arena. If you decide to start with Route 1, then you have to go through both of the Group 1 gyms before you can move on to Route 3 or 5. You may challenge the 'group areas' in any order you like, you don't have to go with Group 1, then Group 2, then Group 3."
He paused to recall what he gave her. "Yes...just by looking at your starters, starting out in the Group 2 area with Route 3 would be the easiest, since Route 3 leads to Botan's grass-type gym in Florak Town. Alternatively, Route 1 leads you to Arisa's ice-type gym - ironically enough, one of Jenta's toughest - and your totodile would have an edge with defenses...then again, Bahati's steel-type gym comes after a route filled with fire-types and ground-types..." The professor grinned. "Just remember that while you're training on the route you choose, you can go to Sankaku Island, the Underground Maze, or the Altering Mansion to train your other Pokemon at the same time."

Oh. Thats kinda complicated, but I get it! Thank you, Professor! She called out, before letting her anticipation control her, and she seemed to burst out of the laboratory with a welcoming smirk. It was kind of an OCD type of thing to go through the routes and gyms in order, so she decided to start on the first route and train her totodile, whome she had nicknamed Titan. Although he was small now, she knew he would grow to be a feirce challenger. Hopefully, her totodile and perhaps a few other pokemon, would be enough to beat the first gym.
