Okay, everybody...here's an idea I had, loosely based off of Colosseum (as in, I only realized it remotely resembled the Colo starter system until AFTER I thought of it) and the Battle Tower (more like the one in Crystal):
The basics:
- Each trainer has their Pokemon in three groups - Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3.
- Group 1 has the weakest Pokemon, 2 has the middle ones, and 3 has the strongest.
- The region is altered to offer more places, routes, and Pokemon to capture to accommodate each group.
The groups:
- Group 1 includes all Pokemon levels 5 - 24.
- Group 2 includes all Pokemon levels 25 - 44.
- Group 3 includes all Pokemon levels 45 - 100.
(- If there are enough Pokemon level 65 and above, a fourth group will be made.)
The levels:
- The level cap system will be similar, either operating in incraments of 5 or 10 levels each time (this needs to be finalized if the changes are made).
- The experience/level system will be the same, most likely.
The trainers:
- Each trainer must have one Pokemon from each group with them at all times.
- Currently, each trainer can only have 6 Pokemon with them. This may be changed to 9 if need be.
The Pokeballs:
- Pokeballs are better equipped to catch Group 1 Pokemon, Great Balls for Group 2, and Ultra Balls for Group 3. They will have a high capture rate.
- Pokeballs will have a lower capture rate for Group 2 Pokemon, and Great Balls will have a lower capture rate for Group 3 Pokemon.
- It is impossible to catch a Group 3 Pokemon in a Pokeball except for rare circumstances.
- Using a Great Ball or Ultra Ball for a Group 1 Pokemon will always catch it, and using an Ultra Ball for a Group 2 Pokemon will always catch it.
The battles:
- Formal battles will have specified rules on which groups you can use. These will be said EVERYWHERE, and will be OBVIOUS before you start the battle, so you can plan ahead.
- Wild battles are usually free-for-all, though you may not use a Group 3 Pokemon against a Group 1 Pokemon (that's just mean).
The region:
- The current Jenta region will be expanded to have more choices on which routes to take and when. Each route will be "shorter," and the wild Pokemon will usually fall into only one group, with more unusual sightings of Pokemon outside the group.
- You may choose to go on any route when you leave a town, as long as that town leads to it, regardless of the group or the badges you have.
- There will be more places to visit as "side-trips" whenever you want. These will be made from suggestions by the members, so people actually visit them and enjoy them.
The starter set:
- Each new trainer receives a three-Pokemon package set: one Pokemon per group.
- All of these Pokemon will be in their lowest stage and the lowest level for their group (an example set: Caterpie (lvl 5), Charmander (lvl 25), and Bagon (lvl 45).)
- The trainer chooses based on the Group 1 Pokemon; the Group 2 and 3 Pokemon are random and unknown until after the journey is started. They may not be exchanged (they can be replaced by caught Pokemon, though).
- The trainer also receives a Pokeball, Great Ball, and Ultra Ball (maybe two or three of each, I haven't decided yet).
What happens to the current Jenta trainers:
- If you are training here right now, you have the option to start over completely, with a new character and different Pokemon.
- If you want to keep your character and Pokemon, adjustments will be made.
------- First, all but two of your Pokemon go into storage. They may be accessed after you get one badge. You may send all but one Pokemon into storage if you wish.
------- Second, if you choose to keep two of your Pokemon with you, the one with the higher level will be elevated to level 25 and become your Group 2 Pokemon. The other Pokemon will stay at its current level, and become your Group 1 Pokemon.
------- You may submit three requests for your Group 3 Pokemon, and one of them will be picked (as a reward for already being in Jenta).
------- The current Jenta routes (or at least Route 1 and the Mushroom Forest) will be kept as part of the "new Jenta." You may continue your journey from that point, or choose to start in a newer route.
...
Whew. I think that's it. ^_^;; I hope I didn't forget anything. Please tell me if I need to clarify. -_-;;
I thought it might be nice to make some changes to Jenta. I don't know if people will like this idea, but I really want your input before I try to change Jenta any more.
So...please vote in the poll, and PLEASE back up your decision with reasons in a post in reply to this thread. If anybody wants me to specify things, just say so...and I will. I really want to help out again at Jenta. -_-;;
