Miteinjan Region:
Region type: island
Biome: temperate rainforest
Temperatures: usually pretty cool, it gets pretty cold in the north
Number of registered cities: five
Typical environment: redwood forests
Economy: not so great
Native/foreigner trainer ratio: most (if not all) of the trainers are foreigners, now that they've opened the region up for foreign training. Most foreigners that live there are scientists.
Pokemon: most are introduced from other regions. Successful introductions were usually water-types or grass-types.
Map: (it's not done...)
Leagues:
As an effort to help build Miteinjan's economy the Travel Bureau has sponsored a variety of "mini" leagues, all with their own gyms, and different challenges. This means that there are usually 2-4 gyms in any given city. There are 5 leagues through out Miteinjan, with different prizes, and bonuses.
Shell League
Gyms: 5
Objective: Battle the gym leaders with three pokemon each and win.
Prize: Pyen, as well as different Shell badges, from which the league gets its name.
Locations: All registered cities (except for Coast Village. Instead, there are two separate gyms in Ke-Hipa and Ke-Hipa Point)
Sand Dollar House - Beach Houses - Sand Dollar Badge
Clam Lodge - Ke-Hipa - Clam Shell Badge
Conch Outlook - Ke-Hipa Point - Conch Badge
The Sea Fan - Storm Harbor - Sea Fan Badge
Jewel Box - Spice Seaport - Spiny Jewel Box Badge
The Confusion League
Gyms: 3
Objective: Battle the gym leader in a one-on-one contest--using the gym leader's pokemon while the gym leader uses one of yours! Pokemon are randomly selected in this way: The gym leader will bring out their three pokemon, and ask you to pair your pokemon with theirs. Then each team will be given a number, and the gym leader will draw a number out of a hat.
Example:
Blanche has her girafarig, her castform, and her butterfree stand in a line. Carra pairs up her bagon with the girafarig, her paras with the castform, and her uber awesome pikamew of do0mzorz with the butterfree. Blanche picks the number two, and Carra has to fight her paras using Blanche's castform.
This league can be tough on team mates who don't trust one another.
Prize: 1000 Pyen, and an optional choice of a random pokemon (Baltoy, Bronzor, Drowzee, Girafarig, Lunatone, Meditite, Mime Jr., Ralts, Solrock, or Venonat -- depending on the level it might be one of their evolutions). The pokemon will be selected randomly, and you have the option of not accepting it. You can only receive one Confusion League pokemon, so accept or reject it wisely.
Locations:
Switch House - Beach Houses
Confusion Cave - Castle Spire
Switchback Path - Storm Harbor
The Toxic League
Gyms: 3
Objective: You and any chosen pokemon who is affected by poison must make your way through a riddling maze within 7 posts, including the one you used to enter the maze. At certain points the gym leader's pokemon will pop out and give you a riddle, if you can correctly answer it, you may move on. If not, the pokemon will attack you -- it's up to you to answer the challenge, if you think you can beat the pokemon without running out of posting time. If you get to the end of the maze before your pokemon faints, then you win. The Toxic League is happy to reward your smarts.
Prize: 1000 Pyen, and an optional choice of a random pokemon (Dustox, Gulpin, Roselia, Stunky, and Combee -- depending on the level it might be one of their evolutions). The pokemon will be selected randomly, and you have the option of not accepting it. You can only receive one Toxic League pokemon, so accept or reject it wisely.
Locations:
Zen House - Beach Houses
Water Maze - Castle Spire
Rotten Log - Wetman's Edge
Spore League
Gyms: 3
Objective: The trainer is put to sleep, and their pokemon have to battle one of the gym leader's pokemon without the trainer's guidance. Not recommended for dependent pokemon.
Prize: 1000 Pyen, and an optional choice of a random pokemon (Paras or Shroomish -- depending on the level it might be one of their evolutions). The pokemon will be selected randomly, and you have the option of not accepting it. You can only receive one Spore League pokemon, so accept or reject it wisely.
Locations:
Sunny Clearing - Wetman's Edge
Rocking Berth - Storm Harbor
Powder Shop - Spice Seaport
Blizzard League
Gyms: 3
Objective: One of your pokemon is taken away from you and frozen solid, along with two of the Gym Leader's pokemon. The blocks of ice are placed behind three doors. The gym leader gives you an ice heal, and you choose a door to go through. All you have to do is de-ice the pokemon in the ice block. If you picked the room with your pokemon in it, you win. If you picked one with the gym leader's pokemon then you have to battle that pokemon. You don't get the prize, but you might get some experience points. This is a league for the lucky, so beware.
Prize: 1000 Pyen, and an optional choice of a random pokemon (Smoochum, Snover, Spheal, or Swinub -- depending on the level it might be one of their evolutions). The pokemon will be selected randomly, and you have the option of not accepting it. You can only receive one Blizzard League pokemon, so accept or reject it wisely.
Locations:
Chance Caverns - Castle Spire
Chansey's Palace - Ke-Hipa Point
Trader's Choice - Spice Seaport
Level Caps per Gym:
Each gym will only allow you to challenge them with pokemon below a certain level. Can't make this too easy for trainer's after all. Each town or area usually has a set level, that applies for all the gyms in it.
Beach Houses - Level 16
Castle Spire - Level 20
Ke-Hipa and Ke-Hipa Point - Level 23
Wetman's Edge - Level 34
Storm Harbor - Level 40
Spice Seaport - Level 47
This chart breaks down the level caps per gyms, per league:
Also, please realize that the gym leader's highest leveled pokemon will be 3 levels under the level cap, although a few of the older gym leaders have pokemon that they have bred themselves, and who might have egg moves, or know some moves that are more powerful than you would expect.
Level Gain Information:

If you KO a Pokemon 1-3 levels below your level, you gain 1/2 a level.
If you KO a Pokemon at your level, you gain 1 level.

If you KO a Pokemon 2-3 levels higher than your level, you gain 2 levels.
