*You have to understnad, we need you! This is th eonly way to save the entire world. No we won't mess up your lives. Think about it, if you don't do this you and all your pokemon will die. Also your pokemon instincts will help you find the gaurdians of the others stones.*Moltres replied. She(Yes I believe Moltres to be FEMALE.) picked up the stone and placed it into Revan's hands.
<You're unusually quiet Shana. Do you hsve anything to say?>Kyogre asked calmly.

((I can't RP for NN-chan, I just can drag her character along to places, so you'll have to wait for her to get back.))
"Find someone who doesn't mind being cut off from life!" Revan yelled hysterically. Normally cool and calm the man was reduced to a reck, after being told he had to become his ultimate phoebia.
*Shh, shh, it'll be all right,* Jirachi sent nervously, trying to calm him. <We can make this work. I chose you, and besides, now that you know what's happening -- well, if you're not for us, then you're against us, and we can't really allow that.> *Calm.*
Revan relaxed, his eyes glazing over, almost zombie-like. In the face of the ledgendary's incredible store of power his mental sheilds might just as well not be there. Death and Pest were knocked out of the way like insescts on the astral plane. Famine's sleeping ghost sheild, Revan's last line of mental defense, flared and then was gone. Jirachi did a little rearanging.
<There,> the psychic pokemon said when finished. <It doesn't totally get rid of the problem, but when he activates the shadow stone his personality, and therefore his fears, will become completely burried. The rest of you,> the fairy pokemon glared significantly at the other humans and pokemon, <don't take advantage of that. He'll take any order you give him like the dumbest of pokemon, in this state.>

Rain nods in understanding. I wonder what Lance would have to say about this... she thinks, but just thinking about the dragon trainer didn't help her, maybe failure, while a bad thing in some ways, would at least give her a chance to get away from this war.

Jason nodded. "I understand now. So guys where do you think we should head? It's my first day as a trainer and I need a pokemon. So I was thinking of heading over to the lab. You okay with that?"Jason asked calmly.

"I suppose that would be a good idea, and I also have something that you can have," Rain says, and reaches into her bag, taking out what looks like a pokemon egg, and hands it to Jason. "You can have it, I found it earlier on my way to Kantorean, and I really don't have any need for it."

"There's a lab here?" Revan asked, some what dully, still feeling half way detatched from the present, thanks to the psychic intervention.
Pest, who was floating in dizzy circles moaned slightly. <What hit me?>
Death squeaked as the Shadow Stone landed neatly back on top of his head. *I want Famine here!* he told the assembly at large, sounding pityifully young and small. *My mind is numb.*
<Don't worry,> Jirachi tinkled. <It will pass.> And the fariy disappeared again in a burst of starlight.

Ryki eyed at Revan specutavily once Jirachi was gone, but then sighed. She wasn't the type of person to go around being mean like that...Oh well.
"I don't mind going to the lab. I wonder what pokemon they give out in Kantoreon?" She stood up, and then brought up one question. "Anyways, it's all good that we have a destination...How do we get to it from here?"
Normally she would have suggested retracing footsteps. Since she didn't know how to teleport herself, that was impossible.

Shana, who had glazed over with dreams of being a Flygon forever, brightened up when she heard there was a lab. She had a sort of feeling...maybe they'd offer dragons! She already felt more at home with Rayquaza around, since they had that dragon connection.
Although... Shana thought. I'd like to be a dragon forever. I mean, I already am the closest link humans have to dragons, but I wouldn't mind. But if I don't say I'll do it, Rayquaza might be disappointed in me.
Shana peeped up. "I'll do it...and I'd like to see the Pokemon they offer, too," she muttered, unsure of exactly want to say. She gave Rayquaza a confident look, while Momo simply rolled her eyes at her trainer's intense stupidity.
Rayquaza looked away, really bored. I can't believe Kyogre dragged me to this. I don't need to be here, if the humans fail in their little wars, I don't care. I'm literally above it all...and I can't say these other humans are much better than Shana here, he thought, glancing around. Let's see, we have, in addition to the unintelligent blimp, an overly-optimistic hyper teenager, a spasmodic phobic young man, a boring "dragon tamer" whose team is probably so domesticated they might as well be bug-types, and the clueless and immature "leader." Oh, yeah. The humans are going to get out of this alive.
Then he realized something. Shana wanted to get a dragon Pokemon. Rayquaza, who was a firm believer that a domestic dragon might as well be pond scum, couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor lizard to get her as a trainer. Although, all the domestic dragons seemed to be so firmly rooted into the "fact" that they were the center of the world, it probably wouldn't matter...they were doomed from the start.

Rain on the other hand had now drawn her attention to Rayquazza, she loved dragons, and she realized that there was a lot she had to learn about them, but she never did mistreat them at least, her pokemon where her friends, and she also had a little bit of a gift for telling when someone wanted to try and train dragons, and she shook her head at Shana. "Dragons are very hard to use, you know," she says. "I should know..." she says, and looks at Rayquaza, and smiles a little. Pokemon are not tools of war, I wish Lance would realize that... she thinks, feeling a little sad.

Shana smiled thinly at Rain. "Oh, I know. But I have a...well...I don't really know how to say it. An affinity, maybe? We learned about them in school. You can get them from your family, since sometimes it's genetic, or you can obtain one through...outside forces. And I'm good with that sort of thing."
Inside, however, she was rather put-off from the girl's upfront attitude. She might as well be telling me I can't train dragons! Well, who does she think she is, telling me that? I don't she her turning into one! Although I don't have any on my team yet, I'm sure I can handle it. Once they know that I almost am a dragon, they'll probably be able to be my friend and loyal teammate. Besides, I haven't seen any of Miss Trenchcoat's dragons. For all I know, they could hate her, and then where would she be!
But Shana figured she was probably jealous, and should remain polite. Even though jealousy wasn't pretty on an already unfashionable girl. (Even though Shana wasn't exactly one to talk...)
Meanwhile, Momo was trying to avoid both Shana and Rain. Maybe she could find some way to escape her insanely stupid trainer...how was she coming off saying she had an affinity? Momo doubted a stone that could turn her into flygon would give her something as permanent as an affinity...
Rayquaza ignored Shana, since she was making a fool of herself without his help. He knew that obtaining an affinity through chemical means was possible, though it had less of a chance of being hereditary, and certainly didn't doubt that continued exposure to the Stone could give her one...but she was still too stupid. And too fat.
He then turned his dragon sense on Rain, and then focused all of his power on not laughing. Here she was, a mere human (in a trenchcoat, which did look kind of cool...though the tank top kind of ruined the effect) trying to convince him she was enlightened, or something. He hated to see what sort of vegetables her precious dragons had become for her to refer to them as "friends."
Plus, she seemed to have an obsession with Lance. He vaguely learned about Lance from a meeting with one of his dragons, a dragonair. The stupid thing was...so...so domestic. She just raved, however, about the power of her trainer, and how he was the head of the Kanto Elite Four, and soon to be champion.
Anybody that "special" had to be weak, (not to mention a complete idiot and lowlife of the human race) and if Rain's obsession was romantic, or whatever (he couldn't tell, nor did he care enough to try), she could do a lot better. Or maybe she couldn't...she trained dragons, after all.
((Sorry, Ruin...I always imagined dragons as vain and arrogant, and Rayquaza, is like...the Almighty Legendary Dragon of Hoenn, and the star of a video game. Two (well, three), really. So yar, he's SUPER vain/arrogant/not a nice guy.))

(I can tell, and he's far from right.)
"Your using your dragon senses on me, aren't you?" Rain says to Rayquaza, and shakes her head. "You call my pokemon, domestic, I'll bet, believe me, I've heard it all before," she says, shaking her head and says the world "domestic" with the same disdain you would towards something you found on your shoe, and looks at the Ultra Ball she still holds. "You, wouldn't understand, but sometimes, a trainer can connect with their pokemon in ways even they can't understand, like me and Ruby..."

Rayquaza couldn't hold it in anymore.
He burst out laughing.
"<Oh really?>" The green reptile boomed in his I Am A Powerful Legendary voice, pulling himself up to his full height (well, as full as the room would allow). "<You and your dragons have a connection? Well, that's wonderful. Did you get a bloodtest when you were little that told you you had a dragon affinity? Then you decided to train them? Or, no wait...you found a poor, hurt, tired baby dragon on the run from poachers and brainwashed it? Hah! I'd like to battle something like that!>" He sneered, showing his large fangs. "<I have yet to loose to a domestic dragon.>"
He then glared at Shana. "<But apparently, that's not why I'm here. You! Girl! Are you going to fight...oh...these humans trying to collect the stones?>"
"Yes!>" She peeped, a little alarmed. But she wanted to train dragons, more than anything in the world! However, she didn't want Rayquaza, her friend and legendary mentor, to get mad at her...maybe she'd talk to him alone later. Obviously, this Rain girl was ticking him off.
"<And will you help collect the rest of the stones?>"
"Yes!"
"<Even if it means death or life as a flygon, not a human?>"
"...YES!" (Well, more yes to the flygon part than the death part, but still...)
Rayquaza sneered. This girl was wrapped around his claw...maybe he could manipulate her, if need be. If not, she was awfully fun to laugh at. "<That's what I want to hear.>" He glared at Rain. "<Well, I think my work here is done. Or would you like to try to convince me you have more than a fat potato in that Ultra Ball of yours?>"

"Go, Ruby!" Rain shouts, and out from the Ultra Ball bursts a Salamence, but unlike most Salamence this one has black scales, and golden wings. "And I'd like to have you know, you where almost right on one count, I did save her from someone, but not to brainwash her, she was being experimented on by Team Rocket, and I risked my life to get her out of that nightmare. And I could swear on a stack of bibles, that I would never, ever try to harm a pokemon in any way!"

Post by Nyaa-Neko on Mar 2, 2007 21:26:49 GMT -5
Rayquaza rolled his eyes. "<I see no reason to believe you. And your salamence isn't particularly amazing-looking...prideful, at best. And I'd like to hear her response on the subject...>" Turning his steely eyes on the lesser dragon, he sneered. "<You haven't spoken a word, and your eyes...glazed, are they? You don't look intelligent. And look at you...flaunting your strange color. It's a result of human intervention, that's what it is. I see no reason to associate myself with you, you pathetic excuse for a salamence.>"
Turning around, he slithered over to Shana, muttering to himself. "<Salamence...prideful little things. They've gone down in intelligence over the past century...Altaria, now they've made a good dragon species out of themselves. They're smart, and stay away from humans. I can't say I've seen quite so many prideful flygon, either. Salamence...a shameful dragon. Only a few ever make anything good out of themselves...then again, most are domestic now. The idiots got themselves extinct in the wild.>"
Turning to Shana, he glared at "his" human. "<Girl!>" He barked.
"Yes!" Shana squeaked, straightening up as much as her heavy frame would allow.
"<I have nothing more to say here...Kyogre, I think we should let these humans out to work on their mission.>"
Really, he just wanted to leave. This Rain person was giving him a headache, and Shana just made him sick. Momo, though...he figured she was okay. She, at least, knew she was in a bad spot as a trainer's Pokemon. Maybe that clefairy would end up as more than a weak novelty Pokemon...no, she was no dragon. Although she would gain wings, she would still be just a trespasser in the air.
Shana, meanwhile, had been taking mental notes. Okay...no salamence...but altaria are good? Alright! I'll be on the lookout for a swablu or a trapinch!...Wait! What about the dratini line or kingdra? Whaaa!

"You disgust me, Rayquaza," Rain says, placing her hand on Ruby to keep the dragon from attacking.
"<Rain...>" Ruby starts.
"You've had your head in the clouds for so long, you've developed a dangerous thinking about dragon trainers, there was a time I might've respected you, even admired you, but that time is long past. I once thought that I would never meet a being that disgusted me more than Lance does, but you've proven me wrong!" Rain says with a growl. "You'll never understand the bond I have with my pokemon, because you've never had the chance to experience it, and that, Rayquaza, is where you fail."

Rayquaza raised a non-existant eyebrow, and was about to respond...
But Shana cut him off.
"I don't see how you can get off insulting him like that!" She shouted, unable to keep it in any longer. She thought of Rayquaza as a friend...and she wasn't exactly a human anymore. She was a dragon, just like him. He picked her to hold that stone...there had to be a reason for it. She couldn't let him down...(and having a friend like Rayquaza HAD to count for something!) "He chooses not to be a trainer's Pokemon, and you shouldn't tell him that's wrong, and that makes him fail. He doesn't want to have the bond of a trainer and a Pokemon, and you should respect his choice." Turning her pudgy head away, she gave a sideways glare at Rain. "He doesn't disgust me, and I should know. I've been a dragon. A flygon. And there are some bad dragon trainers. Ever heard of the Dragon Purge one hundred and fifty years ago? There wasn't a single dragon trainer who didn't take part in selling some part of their dragon, be it scales, the pelt, horns, teeth...or the whole dragon."
Momo rolled her eyes, waddling over to Rayquaza. "<I feel your pain,>" she muttered softly. "<We're surrounded by idiots.>"
The dragon looked down at the fairy. "<You have a point, Small Pink Thing.>"
She grinned. "<Huge Green Thing.>"
And such was the beginning of a Not-Really-But-Still-Kinda Friendship.
((Rayquaza, Shana, and Momo are seriously fun to write...I may have to give them their own fic!...They'd make a good Mary Sue parody...hmmmm...ooooh, then I could write dragons, and give them such wooonderful personalities. X3 ))

"Your right, dragon trainers have wronged their pokemon in the past, but that's not how I work," Rain says, and shakes her head. "Do you know what really happened to Lance? I certainly do, its one of the worst memories of my life. He might not harm his pokemon in the usual sense, but he and his dragons fight the wrong way for the right reasons, doesn't the term, 'Total Genocide' mean anything to you? Maybe I was better off in Kanto..."

((Argh...stupid Yellow PokeSupe! I dunno what the plot is for that one. >_< How to I make them respond...aaaaahhhh...*kicks Yellow PokeSupe*
And Jason, ya might wanna make this move...right now, it's just infighting. And infighting, as much as Momo may enjoy it because it makes everybody look stupid, gets people nowhere. Or, well, they don't get anywhere in a plot sense. I dunno about in real life. X3
Oh, and to make it easier, I'm saying Yellow already ended by now. *nod nod* You said it wasn't going to affect this RP...so meh. If that doesn't work, I'll edit it out.))
"Hmph." Shana crossed her chubby arms, causing her two-sizes-too-small shirt to stretch even more. It was almost bursting at the light blue seams. "In case you hadn't realized, the Kanto problem is already solved. Some blonde kid with a Pikachu defeated the Elite Four a week ago. His dragons went down pretty easily...the press said they weren't trained as well as some say, though they were in pretty good battling condition for their level. So Lance is a bad example. And I don't remember much mass death..."
Momo looked at Rayquaza. "<Oh, there was a genocide in Kanto? That seems...unlikely.>"
"<With humans?>" He asked, a little doubtful.
She shrugged. "<Nobody has the capacity to set anything like that off. There hasn't been a war on that scale since before firearms were discontinued.>"
((Because have you seen an armed pure-human army in the Pokemon world?
And I have only basic knowledge of Yellow PokeSupe. So NYA.))

Jason watched as the discussion began to get heated. *You must go.* Kyogre said. A brilliant light began to shine from each of the legenderies. Flames of fire whipped around them as the group began to sink into the floor. Now they were fallingf through red hot firey lava.
