David took out the talking device while the oddish stared at her opponent. That was easy... but, on a more interesting note, I didn't know this thing could stop evolution. If it's that powerful, I might start using it more. Flipping it open, he began answering all the questions, trying to ignore the clock display in the upper right hand corner of the screen that was ticking away the seconds.
"...No because her brother knows that attack... Yes, of course... It's a different type of attack for Ellen, so yes... Forget a move? That move would be growl..." The pokedex beeped and blipped, processing its new data. Before the device shut off completely, a bright light gained David's attention.
After the light disappeared, Samantha started to evaluate her new form. She was now a smelly gloom... At least she didn't have to worry about getting too close to anyone, save her little brother. Her useful leaves where replace by a weird flower. Doubting that she would grow use to having it, she moved her gaze to David.
<So now that I'm a gloom... > Her voice halted her question. It was too high pitched for her liking, but compared to the rest of her and the added power from the evolution she could live with it. <What should we do? >
I didn't think she would smell this bad, David thought, but I can use that natural ability to help in battle. She seems okay with herself so I don't have to worry about getting poison for deciding on such a big change.
"We either wait for someone else to attempt a take over of our lunch, or we take our lunch and run away to find a less hostile place to eat it." David was hungry, but that lunch did provide a nice aroma to draw in fights.
Randolph, for the time being, dangled the food over the cliff with his psychic powers, keeping it away from land bound creature that would want to eat it. Also, he cleared the area of any random objects. The only thing unmoved was the unconscious Cubone, probably more so because of Sam's new smell.
<I believe we should continue fighting, unless my smell drove away the hungry beasts. >

The cliffs were silent on that score. However, the wind shifted, blowing Sam's scent in the direction of David's small party, rather than away into the rest of the route. This might not have been pleasant for Sam, but it did mean that a furret, who had nearly been overcome with nausea further down the track, was getting back on her feet, and loping back towards the forest. She knew there were more root and good things to eat in the woods so she could settle her stomach.
Rounding a bend she came upon the trainer and pokemon, and uttered an exclamation of soft surprise: <Oh!>

It would be a while before anyone noticed the unfortunate Furret. David had to return Sam into her pokéball after her aroma starts to settle around them. Although she doesn't seem to really notice her smell, her teammates were holding their breath with every shard of might they had; Randolph almost drop his delectable food off the cliff because his concentration was thrown off by the odor of things long dead.
Randolph, now deciding that holding the food with this psychic powers wasn't his smartest idea, teleported back to the lab with his lunch in tow; He remembered finding a place in there that could protect his tasty food till they got to Florak Town. With him gone and Sam safely sealed in her pokéball, David was the only one left on the path that had now cleared of Sam's smell.
"That's a relief, but it feels kinda empty around here now." He looked back at the fainted cubone that still KO'ed. He hopelessly glared at it, but his breeder instinct won over his logic, making him stroll over and place a few berries next to it.
Once done, he finally felt eyes staring at him. Glancing around, he noticed the Furret that seemed to have a slightly surprised look. That small detail didn't register first in David's mind though.
"You look like you about to vomit. Can I offer you one of my tablets? Proven to make you feel better in two minutes without side effects. Made of all natural ingredients grown near my house." He held out the small pink pill with a triangular shape to it, hoping the Furret would accept it. After being in the Jenta region for weeks, seeing a Pokémon native to Johto was a treat for him.

<Oh yes!> the furret said, loping over with undulations of her long body. <I'm so terribly hungry already. I don't want to throw up what food I have managed to collect in the last few days. Winter is coming on, you know. I want to be prepared! Don't you think my body is already lovely and plump?>
The furret swished the tip of her tail, as she sat up and accepted the pink tablet in her tiny paws. Her cylindircal body was not exactly plump -- heavyset would have been an overstatement. Even with a furret's thick fur to make her appear larger, she still was proably only as thick as David's leg.
She munched on the tablet, waiting for a compliment, but then made a face. <Ew, this tastes of chalk.>

"That's the only down side to it," David explained. "There's a lot of minerals in it that give it that taste. I'm still trying to get rid of it, but success hasn't been discovered yet."He sighed and placed the tic-tac-like container of pills back in his pocket before turning his attention back to the shapeliness of the rodent before him.
"You do look fit to endure winter's harshness, but I won't go so far as to say plump. Lovely, yes. Plump, not quite." He wasn't trying to insult the furret, yet he wasn't sure how to aactually speak to it. Usually, whenever he said anything about a girl figure, he got hit with random objects, which is why he tries to avoid doing so. Last time, his classmate elbowed him in the back for not saying she was the cutest girl in school...

<Ohhhhh,> the furret said softly. Her ears drooped. <I guess you're right. I haven't been eating anywhere near what I should have. Ummm. Ummm. Can I have a cookie? Or a sammich? I heard sammiches are good.>
She opened her beady eyes wide, and stared up at David, with what she hoped was a wistful expression, with an edge of hope, and an undertone of pleading.

David stepped back from the furret, retreating from her radiating want of more food. He hadn't considered that she would try to persuade food out of him. Usually, things, human and pokémon, didn't trust him with food after eating his medicine. Although seeing a pokémon with a healthy appetite pleases him, meeting one that doesn't care about first impressions based on his tasteless pills sort of creped him out. "I don't think I have-"
Just then, Randolph teleported back from his food shelter deep within this region’s lab. He held a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich with his telekinesis, wondering what had happen while he was gone. A quick mind reading of Ken revealed the current situation to him. < I have a sammich right here. You can have it, > he said, floating the bread, peanut, and grape mixture towards the fluffy and plum pokémon. < If my opinion counts any, I think your quite plum already. >

<Oooh!> the furret exclaimed in happy surprise. She made a bounding leap for the prize, which was more of a graceful cream and brown arc. Grabbing the sandwich with her mouth, she began to chew, ignoring the psychic grip. However, within a few moments, her tiny mouth became stoppered with peanut butter. <Ommmph!> the furret explained, surprised. <Ommph, ommmmmph!>
