Sami looked at the three eevees silently for a moment. "I have enough money to buy one of you.." She started before being interrupted by Jenni. "You mean you'll have the money once you get the rest from me." Sami glared at her cousin for a second before looking back to the eevees, trying to figure out the best way to choose which of them to buy. "Could you tell me a little about yourselves? I'll be able to pick one of you if I know something about you."

<Newbie,> the young male, who had been identified as seventy-three, sniffed. He sat down on his haunches, and curled his tail around his feet delicately. <Newbie and her idiot keeper.>
<Seventy-three is so mean,> the single female complained, her voice rising to a shrill, annoying buzz. <Everyone else here is nice.>
<They coddle their future egg factory, you mean,> Seventy-three smirked, taking great joy in seeing dismay flit over the girl's face.
The smallest eevee pushed his nose comfortingly into the female's creamy ruff. <S'okay. He dunn mean it,> the little boy told her softly. The female still seemed on the brink of tears, and her lip began to pout. The littlest one looked up worriedly. It was the human expression that usually meant a tantrum was in the works. <Please don't cry?>
<Even the baby thinks you whine too much already,> Seventy-three snapped, his ears lying back flat on his head as he leaned in aggressively. Provoking the brainless boobie to tears was entertaining.
Indeed, that comment snapped the female's resolve. <WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!> she began to bawl.

Sami watched the eevee quietly, watching how they reacted towards each other. At least she knew which one she wanted to take with her. "I'll take him." She said after watching them a moment, motioning to the smallest of the three.
Jenni didn't say anything, only watched in amusement as the eevee's personalities showed themselves. She handed Sami the pyen she loaned to her cousin and waited for the transaction to be finished.

"Okay, kiddies," the woman clapped, "back into your pokeballs, and Seventy-Three, you know what you did was wrong, don't you?"
The eevee's ears went back on his head in an ashamed manner. <Poss'bly.>
"We'll be having a little talk once we get back to the enclosure, won't we?" she said meaningfully. "Ninety-one, stop crying, please."
She held out the pokeballs, and the two unselected eevee returned. "Now, One-oh-four, this is your new trainer, Sami. Sami, here's 104's pokeball."
The red and white sphere was handed over, took Sami's money.
Stats:

Level: 5 Attacks: Helping Hand, Tail Whip, Tackle Special Ability: Adaptability - Moves of the same type do twice the damage, instead of 1.5 times their allotted amount of damage.

Sami took the offered pokeball, thanked the lady and turned to leave. "We'll have to think of a name for you on the way to the Kobayashi building." Sami said to the young eevee excitedly.
Jenni walked alongside her cousin silently, wondering if she should catch a mankey or put her fear of ghost types aside and catch a ghastly. She quickly decided she'd rather have a mankey and could only hope she wouldn't catch one with a bad temper. The two girls walked into the Kobayashi building and into the elevator, stopping on the seventh floor. Sami wanted to catch a poochyena, though Jenni was only here to train Arani before going up to catch a mankey.

((Are you sure you want to train on the 7th floor? Your pokemon only know normal type moves, and all we have on the 7th floor is gastly. Poochyena are on the fourth floor.))
The seventh floor was dark, and the design hat been based upon the Lost Tower of Lavender Town. Occasionally a bright light lit the darkness, and was snuffed out almost as suddenly as it appeared. A cool chill pervaded the air, which was not helped by the gastly that appeared behind the two girls and proceeded to blow against the backs of their necks.

The hair stood up on Jenni's neck and she had to swallow to refrain from screaming. Ghost types scared her terribly. "T-there's a ghost behind us." She hissed to her cousin between her teeth.
Sami laughed as she felt the cold air hit her neck. "I know! Their breath is tickling my neck!" She said excitedly before she burst into laughter agin. Ghost types were one of her favorite types, and since eevee didn't have a ghost type evolution, she needed to catch a ghost type.
The small eevee cowered between Sami's legs, frightened by his new surroundings. He shivered violently and whimpered, almost screaming as Arani and Shima appeared to comfort him. He calmed down a little, relaxing from his tense posture, accepting their affectionate attention and soothing words.
"We have no defense against ghost types, our pokemon only know normal type attacks!" Jenni shouted, reminding her cousin of the situation they were in. Sami picked the still trembling eevee up and held him close to her. In the end, they decided to catch a poochyena from the fourth floor and come back to battle and hopefully catch a gastly. "We'll be back." She promised the invisible ghost type, stepping into the elevator. Jenni sighed with relief and pressed the button for the fourth floor, stepping out of the elevator as the doors opened. Sami handed her eevee to Jenni to keep him safe and looked around, hoping to see a poochyena willing to battle her and Shima.
(I'd like to catch a male poochyena, please. Females are fine, but I'd rather have a male.)

((I'll see what we can do. Genders are randomly assigned, though. Also, you might want to look at the free level thing NN set up a year ago )) Poochyena lay comfortably in the holographic environment of grassy plains, and sunlight. A few of the younger ones were romping through the grass, and one was chasing his tail in a circle. The bushy little appendage was always one step ahead of him, but he was sure that he would catch up with it. Just one more circle -- the small dog pokemon slammed into Sami's legs. She rolled back, looking up in comical surprise. <Where'd you come from?!>

Sami watched the poochyena chasing his tail with amusement, stumbling back a few stpes when he slammed into her legs. "Uh, the elevator?" She responded, looking around briefly before looking back at the poochyena in front of her.
Jenni looked around for another poochyena, obviously uninterested in the one that had been chasing his tail. She wasn't sure whether to catch a mankey or a poochyena, so maybe she should catch both, it coulsd work in her favor if she needed both in one battle. "Let's find a poochyena that wants to battle and go." She said uneasily, anxious to get on the path to the first gym.

<Oh! I'll battle,> the dusty pooch replied, jumping up and dancing on his hind legs for a moment. He promptly fell back on his forepaws, and gritted sharp teeth as he felt the jarring in his bones. Right, he was always heavier than he felt. <I'll battle! It's fun to battle. Really! I promise!>

Sami looked down at the poochyena and smiled, noting his enthusiasm for battle. "Alright. I'll us Shima to battle with you." The electrike took her side of the field and waited for the battle to start. "Let's start with tackle!" The elctrike nodded and started running towards the poochyena in a tackle attack.
Jenni looked around the area, wondering if there was another poochyena that would be willing to battle. Arani was itching for her first battle and flexed her claws in anticipation.

A small group of three poochyena were watching the pair of canines begin their battle. One big one with a small notch in her ear stretched out on the grass, her tail thumping excitedly as she watched Shima dart across the holographic terrain.
The eager opponent dashed to meet his green opponent with the same attack. They crashed into each other's shoulders, and the wild poochyena came away from the attack, feeling every bone in his body vibrating, as far as he could tell. He shook himself, and yipped enthusiastically.
The big poochyena rose casually, stretching out her fore paws, before whirling to growl at Sami as she wandered by the group. <Got a problem?> the canine pokemon inquired. <You're not watching your pack fight. Disrespectful. Should I teach her some respect, you think, boys?>

(Sami didn't wander away from the battle.. Jenni is looking around for a poochyena to battle, so I'll assume you meant Jenni.)
Sami watched as Shima and the wild poochyena collided and grew more excited in the heat of the moment. "Thunderwave!" Shima gathered enough electricity to paralyze her opponant and sent it towards him. Sami danced from foot to foot as she watched the outcome of the attack.
Jenni looked at the poochyena calmly with a raised eyebrow. Arani stepped in front of her trainer, raising her claws defensively. <My trainer is not disrespecting her pack, she is merely looking for a worthy opponant to battle.> The charmander replied on behalf of her trainer, glancing up at Jenni to see if she approved. "Arani is correct. Show us how to respect if you see fit." Jenni added evenly, returning the poochyena's challenge.
(Not Arani's personality, but she couldn't stand by and let the poochyena get the better of her trainer.)

((*Headdesk* Sorry, I should have read that more carefully))
The audience was now split, as the female planted her legs, snarling silently at the pair, and the young male poochyena who quivered as the sparkling shock went through him. His muscles began to twitch and tingle in odd pairs. For a second his hackles would raise and lower at blinding speeds, and then he wouldn't feel a paw, while his eyelids twitched like mad.
His instinct was to throw himself on the ground until the weirdness stopped, and the dog pokemon whined unhappily, but he was in the middle of a battle, and that sent him to his feet, as he charged at the electrike once more.
The small pack yipped and barked in approval, before the female lifted up her head and uttered a long, heart pounding howl, recalling all of the times she had ever run with the pack, surging at its head for the sheer enjoyment of it. Her head came back down, her fur bristling, as she glared at the Charmander, feeling stronger, and ready to attack.

Sami watched the poochyena carefully, waiting for the perfect moment to counter attack. "Tackle!" Shima started running towards her opponent, swerving to the right in an attempt to dodge the poochyena's tackle. Turning in a complete circle, the electrike ran towards the poochyena, hoping to finish her attack.
Jenni listened to the poochyena's howl, shaking her head to clear it after the howl ended. "Scratch!" Arani leapt into action, slashing down towards her opponent as Arani began falling towards the floor after her leap.

The female poochyena took the scratch across her gray muzzle. The pokemon yipped, dancing back in surprise. Growling, she tensed herself. She wasn't far back enough for a strong tackle -- attacks like that needed momentum, and momentum needed space, while the closer the charmander was, the easier it was for the lizard pokemon to scratch.
She lunged forward, aiming to slam into the charmander with her shoulder in revenge for her smarting nose. A few feet away, her smaller male compatriot took the force of his green opponent's attack in his side. He gasped as he skidded back. For a moment, he couldn't breathe, the force had startled him so much. Once air filled his lungs again, the young poochyena planted his feet, and drew in his breath.
This aggressive electric dog was much tougher than he was used to battling. The poochyena wasn't certain why. Shima looked to be about as big as the poochyena, so it should stand to reason that he wasn't that much stronger. But he was. So the poochyena howled, trying to gather strength from the memories of tussles with the pack, happy moments when bothers and sisters rolled down hills, chewing their tails in order to see who was strongest.

Sami winced as the poochyena started howling, but somehow kept her focus. "Tackle!" Shima's hackles stood up along her spine as the howling started. Hearing Sami's command, the electrike backed up as far as she could without interrupting Arani's battle, gaining room for her next attack. The electrike started running towards her opponent, not gaining as much speed this time to do much damage.
Arani stumbled back a few steps from her opponent's blow, trying to fill her lungs with air that was knocked out of them. Jenni tried to think of a plan to end the battle quickly, but wasn't coming up with any at the moment. "Growl!" The charmander glanced back over her shoulder at her trainer for a moment before facing her opponent, taking a breath and growling as best she could, giving her current condition.

The female poochyena bristled reflexively. The charmander sounded a lot scarier than she did while she was mad. And she hadn't forgotten that charmander could burn things when angry enough. She didn't want to aggravate Arani. At the same time, she desired to send the lizard back to the pokemon as a sign of how powerful she was, and how offended she had been by the disrespect paid to the silliest member of her pack. Besides, her nose still stung in an angry reminder of what had taken place.
She decided to attack, although she was warier, now. She didn't want to end up with smokiing places in her pelt, after all. That could spell long term damage. So she lunged across the space, seeking to knock into the charmander, although at a more moderate speed than her other charges.
Sami's opposing pokemon stumbled back from the trained electrike. The tackle hit him before his tingling nerves and muscles had a chance to respond, bowling the gray pokemon over on his rump. He sat on his brushy tail, looking confused. <Work, legs!> he growled, before managing to struggle upright on the pins and needles that had replaced his limbs.
Still feeling confident from the Howl, however, he charged into the fellow canine with a Tackle attack.

Shima started to turn in a circle to counter attack with a tackle of her own like she had earlier in the battle, but had waited too long and was tackled in her side. The electrike slid across the floor a few feet and lay still, giving Sami a sign she was alright, just playing possum. She lay perfectly still, as if she had fainted, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Arani leapt into the air to meet her opponent head on with a counter attack. Jenni didn't have to give a command this time, which was good, because the teen wasn't paying attention, but trying to come up with a strategy. Arani raised her arms as she approached her opponent in mid air, hoping to stun the female poochyena long enough to attack again and possibly end the battle.

Shima's little opponent wagged his long tail for a moment, before that twitched and jumped with the electricity still snapping and popping through his body. He turned to look at the pack: <Didja see? Didja see?> he panted excitedly, breathing heavily. <I won! I won my first battle! Didja -- oh,> his ears sagged, seeing that most of the pack was watching their leader. It made him feel low, that he hadn't been interesting enough to watch. Shouldn't he have felt better from having won a battle? Most of the pack spoke of it like a brilliant explosive feeling, and he didn't feel any different or stronger.
His leader, however, was hit head on by jumping charmander. The smack hurt, and the claws raked through her fur painfully before she had a chance to roll away. Lurching to her feet she wrinkled her muzzle at the fire lizard, wincing as she circled Arani, waiting for the moment to lunge forward in a tackle. She didn't wait long, perhaps too heedless of the possible danger of close quartered combat, and leaped in to tackle the charmander again, trying to ignore her stinging sides and back.
