((Gaaaaah...we can't do much without Jason-kun! >_< ))
"Oh, right," Shana replied dumbly. She vaguely remembered him mentioning a lab...nothing much about it though. Either that or she just forgot, which wasn't too much outside the realm of possibility.

She blinked. What was she talking about? "Oh, uh, no, it's fine. And yeah, my name's Shana...um...I forgot yours, sorry," she mumbled, not exactly sure what to say. Her memory was still fuzzy from the traumatic past ten minutes, and she was concentrating more on not having her weak legs give out on her. That transforming really took a lot out of her...not to mention being subject to extreme heat followed by extreme cold. She handled the heat kind-of-sort-of well, but the cold...well, she was a dragon at the time, so before it transformed her, it cut her health levels.
So her head was still a little...light.

Jason coughed slowly into his hands. "Sorry to break up this...reunion but we've got to get to the Lab. I've still got to get my starter. The starters here are Skitty, Pichu, and Spinerak. Let's go."he said with a gruff voice.

((Akk, sorry I haven't been keeping up with this thread. and the fighting too. So funny. Best writing I've ever seen of rayquaza, NN-chan. Most people give him a horrible, all knowing, amazing intelligence and grace blah, blah, Mary Sue flat 2-d personality. Although, Jason, dumping us in a VOLCANO? It took a lot of creative thinking on my part, on how to get out.))
Annnnd, let's do the time warp agaaaaaain...
Revan was sweating as Pestilance and Death glowed bright blue. Heat radiated up from below, and Revan could feel the water in his mouth dry up and evaporate. Out of the pack on his back the plush form of a banette poked his head. <You've really done it this time, Revan. Remind me not to go to sleep any more, you get yourself into the most amazing scrapes,> Famine's voice was clear as anything, even though the gash of his mouth was firmly sewn shut.
*Could both of you get rid of any extra weight?* Uncharacteristically Death, who was usually the calm powerhouse of Revan's two psychics, nearly screamed.
Famine quickly floated out of the pack, to look at the young pig. <What's the matter? You're perfectly capable of holding us all up. Remember when we went over that waterfall?>
Revan was fumbling with his pack, and soon a bright red pokeball was in his hands. He tossed the rest of the supplies away, and they shot up by a few feet. "I've got War. Famine lend your energy to Death, and we--"
*NO!* The spoink shrieked, almost making Revan drop War in her pokeball. *I'm holding up the stone, and it's sucking in everything I've got. I can't handle ghost energy right now. Why did we have to mess around with stupid, thoughtless, idiotic ledgedaries!* The tears that came from his scrunched up little eyes were sucked away by the vicious heat. *I tried to help them, but I couldn't handle everyone else, all of our new friends, and you. They just fell. I thought I got a hold on some of them but they just fell and fell and fell, while my energy was getting sucked into the stone. I was trying to just let it go, but it won't let me.*
<It's okay,> Famine told the little spoink cheerfully. <They'll be back, and being a ghost is wonderful, take it from me. You can walk through walls and eat emotions, it's a great unlife. Admittedly,> he added, <I'd rather not see Revan or your three learn about it quite so soon. Revan, give me War's pokeball.>
Revan handed it over umbly. Shana and that that funny girl Ryki were dead? And Shana's clefairy that she was so proud of (although Momo hadn't been proud of her)? And Jolt? And -- well he hadn't really known the other two people --
<Revan, listen to me,> Famine took charge. <Grab the shadow stone and use faint attack, think about the outside of the volcano. I'll follow you to make sure that you're all right, and Death and Pestilance can catch up with us. Do it, now!>
Revan grabbed for the stone blindly, unable to resist the command with ghostly energy pushing it into his mind, although fear enveloped it, and then --
Nothing. He was floating away from his body, which had become the stuff of nightmares, clothed in black fur and a wicked grin. He realized he should be feeling horror as he suddenly dropped through Death and Pest's telekinetic grasp, their minds unable to hold onto him any longer. However, he just couldn't seem to bother.
Famine floated after him, trying to keep well away from the lava and yet close to his decending trainer. Oh, right, faint attack. And the shadows reached out to grab him.
He floated trough a voice totally unlike that which abra teleported through. This was just darkness. Darkness and nothing else but him. His mind, which had managed to stay detatched up until that point shot straight back into his body, and terror consumed him. It had only been seconds in this form, and already he was blind, helpless. Darkness was eating him! He couldn't feel, couldn't touch, sense, or even taste anything. He was going to die.
From heart attack alone, if nothing else, thought a deeply hidden sarcastic part of himself. Why don't you relax? This could be fun if you stopped making things so hard for yourself, he reasoned. Why not take charge while in this body? It could be very, very fun. Imagine what you could discover yourself capable of.
Well, thought the rest of his mind, nearly dribbling with fear. Why not?
Good.
He chuckled, and daylight swamped him. Revan stepped out of the shadow of a boulder, and looked around. He was on the volcano's souther slope, from a guess of looking at the sun. Far away a rapidash was running, and he could see Kantorean spread out like an emerald.
Amoment later the Famine gohsted through the rock, and then solidified. <Whew, I was afraid you'd get stuck half way through the sahdows,> he grinned sharply. <I suppose I just don't get that lucky, huh. You know, I didn't think you could get any shorter, but I have to say, even most sneasel are taller than you.>
Revan let go of the stone, and sunk to his knees on the rocky slope. He was sweating and shaking, now that he was back to himself. The daylight had never seemed brighter, more vibrant, more wonderful. The last thing he could remember was the darkness devouring all light all thought, all feeling -- at the memory of the experience he began to vomit.
<Now that you've gotten that out of your system,> Famine observed, side stepping the puddle of bile. <Can you call Death and Pest over here? I think they zoomed over to the north face, and I had to leave War's pokeball with them to follow you through the rock.>
"Yeah, sure," Revan said shakily, as he leaned back, away from the stinking mess he had created. His mind felt like a limp noodle, but he stretched it out, away, feeling out for the familiar friendly minds of his pokemon.
As to be expected, Pest found him first, and the psychic quickly grabbed Death's mind, and linked it with Revan's. In less than a few seconds the two landed on the ground in front of Revan, the red and white orb of War's pokeball between them.
<You know,> Death squeaked with his real voice, a rarity, signaling that he was mentally spent, <my pearl went into the lava with your pack. I feel unbalanced.>
"Mind if you go back to carrying the stone?" Revan asked. "It's either that or War's pokeball."
<Revan, that thing stole over half my energy!> Death squeaked.
"Yeah, but I think it's done," Revan said, picking it up with his shirt. Pest, who was a very poor telekinetic, raised the thing into the air easily.
Death sighed. <Put it on, then, if you must. But let War out. The nest house we get to you can make it into an ornament to put on a collar for her. For now, let's start walking, it's a long way back to civilization.>
~~~
Revan was half dead from exhaustion by the time he stupbled into the town nearest the volvano. War was too tired even to snap at the feet of passers by. <Revan, if I promise not to eat your earlobes will you please put me on your shoulder?> the skitty asked.
Pest and Death were cheery, in comparison, Death used to spoinking everywhere on his tail to keep his blood flowing (although he could manage it telekinetically, too) and Pest was able to float wherever he liked. However, the two psychics were tired, as neither of the hyper and chatty pokemon were talking.
Famine was just smug. With his inanimate body he could force it to do just about anything and go anywhere he pleased. He had even run ahead of them, and was now leaning up against a white building smirking.
<You know where we are, sneasel boy?> he called out, seeing the little worn out group. <This is the Kantorean lab.> He bowed. <Presented to you with compliments.>
Skitty, Pichu, and...Spinerak? Ewww, those are stupid Pokemon, I don't want any of them. I'd be better off without any Pokemon than with some nasty bug or girly Pokemon ruining my reputation! Shana thought, annoyed. Why couldn't the lab have a base form of a DRAGON Pokemon?
Although, she thought nastily, glaring at Jason. They're weak Pokemon, so once I do have my dragons, I'll be able to beat him sooo easily. He'll pay for all he's done to me...that clefairy was my pride and joy! I'd kill him, but murderers are never popular.
"Fine, I'll go to," Shana agreed, staggering behind Rain. Soon, with the added weakness and light-headedness to her already overweight body, she was breathing heavily just to keep up.
And so she regressed to a lesser form of human.
Revan stood staring in shocked silence as he watched three people he had thought were dead calmly walk in the lab doors just around the corner where Famine was leaning. War mewed, and rubbing up against his legs. He bent down absent midedly to pick up the rumpled skitty. They were alive. It seemed inconceivable.
Death, however, was not shocked, just happy. He spoinked madly around the corner, and coiled his tail in a spring that would have taken him though the doors, if Shana's back hadn't been in the way. <You're alive, you're alive!> his voice squeaked muffledly from between her shoulder blades.
Shana, annoyed, shrugged the spoink off. "Well, some of us are," she snapped, glaring at the happy psychic. What right did he have to be happy? HER rare Pokemon was DEAD.
Turning her squinty eyes on the lab, she sighed unhappily. "Something good better come out of this," she mumbled.
Death looked up at her, and spoinked back a step or two. Why was she being so mean? What had happened? Some?
<What do you mean some?> he asked. <I thought -- isn't everyone here?> he trialed off, uncertain.
Revan came in right then, with Famine at his heels, and War perched on his shoulder. Pest wizzed over head. Both Pest and Famine looked near murderous, and War's fur was on end as she glared.
<What do you mean, talking to Death like that?!> War yelled. <He was only happy to see you!>
<You stupid, agrrogant, waste of --,>
"Pest, shut up," Revan said tiredly. "Sorry about Momo, Shana."
<Momo!> the spoink's eyes filled with tears, and he bounced over to Revan's boots, and burried his snout in Revan's singed pants. <I should have gotten rid of the stone quicker. I could have saved--,>
But Revan wasn't listening. He looked about him sharply, before grabing Shana as the nearest target. "Where's Ryki!?"
Shana's eyes widened as the psychic man bore down on her. "I-I don't know! I think she got out...I didn't see her, but-I-I don't know! I don't know!"
She then, since she was against the door, accidentally opened it, and fell inside and out of Revan's grasp. "Owwww..." she groaned, rubbing her large and sore backside.
Of course, as Revan had been holding her arm, and he was not a large man (or even a medium one), when she began to fall she jerked him off balance. Since Death was under his feet at the time, this only added to the confusion, and tottering forward, and backward, and the nearly but not quite falling on Shana. The final component to what was really turning out to be a comical slapstick routine, was War, who scratched Revan's ears, face, neck and eyes, before biting his hair, and running up his head to dig all four sets of claws in his scalp.
At this, with a scream of pain Revan fell heavily against the glass door, which was still standing open against the wall, and War jumped from her perch, and trotted into the lab as if she owned the place. In the moment of silence that followed Famine chuckled, and Pest sniggered.
Revan pushed himself away from the door, and then held out a hand for Shana. "Let's try this again," he sighed, trying to sound calm. "Where is Ryki, and if she's not here, how can we find her?"
Shana grabbed his hand, and struggled to her feet, though she almost pulled Revan down with her.
"Ryki...wait, she was the girl who turned into Skarmory, right?" She asked, concerned. If so, she was a fellow winged Pokemon...maybe they had some sort of connection, too. She could also withstand sandstorms! Now she was worried!
OoC: Lee can pop up now. Although I must think of a way for Ryki to have lived. XD
BiC: Ryki had remained silent through the fighting of Rain, Shana, and Rayquaza (She had to admit that the legendary was amazingly arrogant, and not at all like Registeel, although that may have been because the legendary who had given her her stone was simply too smart to even try and communicate with Ryki), fighting the urge to giggle. It probably wouldn't have been a very diplomatic thing to do, and anyways, she didn't want to get squished by the large snakey looking legendary pokemon, if it got angry and sat on her.
All thought disapeared from her head and she uttered a piercing scream as the ground disapeared and fire appeared. They were supposed to be saving the world, and they were being sent through flaming lava? It was a death sentence!
It hurt too. Ryki had always thought that when she died, it'd be painless, but it wasn't. It hurt. Really, really, really bad. Her clothing and everything in her pack were in short order very dry, and she realized with horror that her backpack had succeeded in catching fire, and transported that to her hair before she struggled out of it.
Not that it mattered, since in a couple of seconds she was going to be vaporized human anyways.
Which meant her pokemon would be dead.
Ryki squeaked, kicking her legs though this didn't offer anything in the way of salvation, besides catching her shoe on fire as she kicked it into a stream of lava, which really, really, really hurt her toes. She managed another scream, beating at the fire with her hands and staring in horror at the burnt toes, since it was far more serious than the hair-fire. Which she'd managed to put out, although her hair was decidely burnt at the bottom, which was now very close to her scalp.
Then she didn't remember anything.
What actually happened was that Jolts had one of his flashes of brilliance. Since he could feel the heat through his pokeball (Meaning, his trainer was in nothing short of very, very, very hot fire, lava, or other hot substances), he organized Mission Save Ryki. Wish was to drain energy from the rest of them to teleport them all to a safe place with water nearby, leaving just enough energy with Lady so that the Vaporeon could put out any fires Ryki happened to be on.
It worked without a hitch. And Lady managed to put out the fire on Ryki's arms and the little whispers of smoke from her head and foot disapeared too. Of course, Lady was now the only one with any energy, since Wish simply wasn't very strong in a psychic sense and had had to drain lots of energy to get them in a reasonably safe area. And Lady didn't have that much energy, so she curled around her trainer and waited for the burnt, soaked girl to wake from her sleep. Because Lady refused to believe that the girl wasn't going to wake.
Luckily, she did wake, and the first thing she was aware of was that her arms hurt. In fact, her entire body hurt, but her arms hurt the worst. Looking down at them, after sitting up and waking Lady, she could figure out why fairly easily. Being as the skin was a nasty shade of red and cracked, and had the disgusting oozy stuff around her elbows downward.
Meaning she was very severely burnt, and it HURT! Her gloves were gone, her entire body felt like it had a very bad case of sunburn (barring her toes on her left foot and arms which were far worse), and the front of her left shoe was missing. Not to mention most of her hair.
Moaning, she stood up totteringly, deciding that she had best find a doctor. Sitting around would only worsen her condition, and Ryki wasn't clueless. She could seem it at times, but she did understand the importance of finding a source of help.
Lucky for her, Lady had managed to get a faint outlook of where they were, and knew the general direction of a city.
It just so happened that she managed to get there before running out of the little bit of energy she had. Ryki would never say anything against good luck either, because she was having a very, very, very amazing streak of it, since she had gotten a way to get to a doctor (albeit carried by a good-willing man), and when she woke in a couple more hours, she found that her arms and foot had been wrapped up, and she was wearing one of those disgusting hostpital gowns with little pink flowers all over it. Unfortuantly, she didn't have any other clothing, since her bag was incernated, and the clothes she had been wearing had somehow disapeared.
Not that would stop her. Now that she had gotten bandaged up, she figured she could handle herself just about well enough. Before she had a horrifying thought. Where was the stone? What if someone had touched it? Frantically she hopped out of bed, stumbling a few steps and biting back a curse of pain as she landed on her burnt foot. She spotted her clothing and pokeballs on a chest too small to be seen from her perch on the bed, and managed to get them on (With the exception of the missing shoe and sock), relief flooding her as she spotted the stone in a pocket in her jeans.
Now then...To get out of here before some doctors found her. She folded up the horrifying hospital gown, made difficult by the fact that her hands were bound into mitten-shapes, marveling at the near lack of pain.
Probably because of pain killers. She made a notice to buy some at the first store she came to. Her arms would probably hurt like no-tomorrow the moment it wore off.
Sneaking down the hallway was easier than expected, since no one was there, and she managed to filch a pair of crutches. The person they belonged to could always get some more, couldn't they? They were, after all, in a hospital.
So saying, she managed to exit the hospital, simply by pretending to be part of a family exiting. They gave her odd looks, but in no time she was hobbling down the sidewalk, releasing Rose after some dropping of the pokeball. The eevee wasn't very happy about her being about, but she had to get to the lab.
After all, that was where they were planning on heading, so she had to make sure that everyone had made it. Before it occurred to her that they might be in the hospital with similar injuries, but she ignored that little voice and sighed in relief as she saw them in front of the lab.
Rose just shook his head, wondering why his trainer had to be so stubborn. It'd be far easier if she'd just stay in the hospital until she didn't have to worry about her burns. But nooo...That wouldn't do for her.
Well, at least there had to be some sensible people in this group that would get her to go back. Right?
Jason then entered the lab. His mother Lamera Kurano was at a table. She had long black hair and brown eyes. Her eyes bore into the others. She currently wore a white shirt and a blue skirt. She also had on a blue lab coat. "Son I was wondering when you'd be home. I've got your skitty and your pokedex right here."she said. She handed him a brown backpack loaded with an ultraball. Nodding, he smiled. Finally I got a pokemon! I can help out now, he thought as he pointed at the others.
"Mom these are my friend. We'll be travelling together and they might have questions. Can you fill them in?"he asked. He gave his mother a kiss on the cheek as he headed through a side door.
((Ack...just remembered what happened when Shana got auto'd, and how unrealistic my reaction was. Also, I have permission to do some extremely basic modding of Revan...namely bringing him along from place to place, so I'm putting Shana with him until she can get properly healed.)) Shana suddenly let out a small squeal. Her neck suddenly really, really, really began to hurt again (from the area where the stone had been torn off so rudely), and blood began to ooze from behind the stupid cloth. She let out a strangled gasp as she dashed outside the room, grabbing the stone with the cloth. Plunging it into her neck to stop the bleeding, she was relieved to see that when she did, the skin of her flygon-self closed around it, healing her wound. Breathing a sigh of relief (as, for some strange reason, her whole body didn't hurt as much...maybe because the stone had once again become a part of her skin?), she looked up, and stretched her wings. I should probably get back to the lab now, she thought. I'll masquerade as one of the others' Pokemon for now...Revan. Yeah, I'll pretend to be one of his...Tottering back into the lab, she put on the air of a normal dragon Pokemon. "<Revan,>" she whined in her raspy flygon-voice, speaking in Flygon, "<you left me behind. How could you?>" She just hoped he would play along...luckily, he didn't say much. Shana figured it was because he was psychic, had a long day, his darling Ryki appeared (albeit wrapped in so many bandages Shana thought she got off easy), and she was thinking as loudly as she could. Also, she figured he was the most likely person who would be smart enough to play along... ((And also because I "control" Revan and his Pokemon. X3 ))
