A young man enters a room, his lovely long hair pulled back and a suave smile on his face.
"Hello," he greets, waving his hand at one of his fangirls in a flirty manner. "I'm Shing, one of the Jenta gym leaders. I recently turned twenty-one years oldd on March the second...however, I was not able to set up a giveaway until now."
Clearing his throat, he took a moment to bask in the glory of his twenty-one-ness before continuing. "As you know, it is tradition for the gym leaders and such of Jenta to give away gifts to trainers on their birthday, however," he glared at an unseen teenage girl, "for reasons I am not allowed to state, mine has been put off. Therefore, no rare Pokemon may be given away. Also, your gift is decided by a number generator..."
Shing then stepped over to a table with eight numbered-cards. "Pick a card with a number on it. You may choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8. The possible gifts you may receive are: a Moon Stone, one-to-three Rare Candies, a TM with an attack of the normal-type, or a Pokemon of the normal-type at either level 5, 25, or 45."
He then stepped away, looking immensely proud of himself.
((So yar...I'm going to do this for every Jenta NPC's birthday. Unfortunately, I gave 'em all birthdays only a day or two after March 2...but I still wanted to do something for Shing, so I figured...eh, why not give him a belated birthday giveaway?
This works the same as the random giveaways...you pick a number (1-8), and see whatcha get! ^_^ ))

Zach had never heard of Shing. In fact, it occurred to him that he didn't know any of the gym leader's names, except for the steel type, because the Professor had apparantly liked Bahati a great deal and had waxed on about her when giving out the possible routes he could have taken.
Shing was a gym leader then? Interesting. Well, he wasn't going to pass up a give-away. Any of the possible prizes sounded good, although he had no clue what he would do with a Moon Stone. The chances of getting one of those were pretty low however.
<Could I pick, Zach?> Rapheal was looking at the cards with interest, one hand holding the pudgy hand of Jasmine so that she didn't run off anywhere. Zach had the distinct impression that the fierce looking Zangoose was very affectionate of the baby sandshrew. Kind of amusing, really.
"Sure."
So saying, the Zangoose smiled and drew a card from the table. Jasmine piped up as soon as he pulled it off the table, <Oh! It's a seven! Hey, where's seven? It's after four, right?>

((Nope, that was fine. ^_^ And wow...lucky you.  )) "Seven," Shing muttered, glancing off to the unseen teenage girl (armed with a number generator). "Alright! You were lucky," he explained, toning down his exuberance since Zach was not of the female gender. He then walked over to a desk, and pulled out three Rare Candies. "You win three Rare Candies! Use them wisely...you're about to challenge Bahati, right? Well, defeat her...then come to Li Jing...and LOSE TO ME! Hahahaha!" The young adult was promptly brick'd. ((Oh...and you don't have to do an in-character post. You could just say "I pick #", though you'll just get a "you get a -blank-" post back. X3 )) |

William Hamlet blinked as he entered the room. He seemed to be finding all these strange buildings or wells when he was just trying to get through his current route, however upon hearing this, he just shrugged his shoulders, and muttered a "Why not." he walked up to the table and noticed that the number seven was already picked, he only smiled and picked a number, it was the number 8. He had read that some cultures felt that the number eight was more lucky then seven, so he went after that number, after all, he was in a foreign land, so he didn't know what was lucky or not.
((If you are confused, Feng Sui has Number 8 as a lucky number.))

Shing reached under the desk, and pulled out the corresponding gift. "You, William Hamlet, win a normal-typed TM!" He then handed the trainer a disk with a case that read "TM 10: Hidden Power", and hands it to William. "Here you go. Use it wisely."
((So yar...if you want to know your Pokemon's respective Hidden Power types...*runs back to the number generator, since the Pokemon don't have DVs*
Wynne the Pichu has a Hidden Power type of Fighting
Einstein the Larvitar has a Hidden Power type of Poison
<currently unnamed> the Vulpix has a Hidden Power type of Water
So nyaaa...pick the one you think would work out the best in the long run. ^_^;; If I were you, I'd go for the Vulpix, 'cause a fire-type using a water-type move is just cool. X3 ))

"Ah," Shing exclaimed, happy to give a nice gift to the stunningly beautiful girl who just walked in. He reached under the table, and slowly withdrew a sparkling moon stone. "For you, my dear, I have a moon stone. Use it on a nidorina, nidorino, clefairy, jigglypuff, or skitty to evolve it."

"Thank you!" He grins as she walks out, then snatched a cell phone from under the table. Pressing a few buttons (her number was on speed dial), he quickly dialed the number of one of his fellow gym leaders.
Leaning on the table, he smirked as a crackly "Hello?" sounded from the other side of the connection. "Ah! Arisa, how are ya, babe?"
"I thought I told you never to call me that...and why are you calling me, anyway?"
Shing grinned, and brushed a finger through his long hair. This caused all the invisible fangirls to scream at his OMGBISHIE-ness. "That girl you battled...I don't remember her name, but the one with the trenchcoat? She isn't as ugly as you say she is...kind of cute in a movie-esque way."
"...You interrupted my training session for THIS?"
"Yes. And-oh dear!" With a dejected face, he closed his cell phone. "She hung up...next time I'll call Tan-chan. She's much nicer."

Lawrance walked into the room carrying Bouncy and looking around.
"Alright... This place gets wierder and weirder, first I was on a lake, now I'm in a room..." he commented before spotting Shing. "Upon seeing you, I get the feeling I should say... Five. Odd..."

Shing looked up, and stared at Lawrence with dark, unenthusiastic eyes. How come all but one of the people had been guys? He should have invited some of his fangirls to show up in person...
"Five?" Shing repeated after he got over himself (a little bit, at least). "Five gets you, sir, a lovely..." He rummaged around under the table for a moment. "TM 43: Secret Power. Ah, the move that changes depending on the surroundings! A wonderful attack...use it how you see fit."

"I'm looking foreward to kicking your butt in Li Jing, Shing..." he muttered before walking back to the middle of the lake in Route 2, wondering
1: Just how he knew that he was the leader of the Li Jing gym...
2: Just how he managed to get here...

"Thank you!" Shing waved goodbye to the trainer, smiling cheerfully. "Ah yes," he muttered calmly, stretching out on his chair, "such is the life of a gym leader...heheh! He probably WILL defeat us, won't he, my friends?" As he said this, he peered at the three filled Pokeballs resting on a cushioned chair beside him. Inside were his three precious normal-types...

Jule walked into the room, and he smiled. New journey he might as well take what he could get to help him along the way. "I'd like to pick a number one sir, if no one else has and if that is alright," Jule asked. Lucky number one had never done him wrong.
