"I've adapted." he stated. "Not completely, but I've adapted."
He stared down at the purple rat and said, "Now, answer my question."

<I just did,> the female pokemon glared back at him with beady red eyes. <You don't like the answer, find someione else to bother. Everything here is perfectly sane. Except possibly you, Mr. Flying Death Tackle. Hmph!>
With that she stared to sart back into the grass.

"Perhaps I should try asking humans... They tend to be less... Insane..." he said as he began to walk off again. "Except those brick-throwers... They're probably all crazy."
"<Yeah... But they're STILL saner than that Flying Death Tackle Rattata you caught...>" commented Bouncy.
"Agreed... I think I'll call that Rattata Loon..." he stated.

((Would you like more battle practice, or chance to catch more pokemon, or are you heading to Sapphire?))

(I figure... A Bug should finish off my team... Then I'll level till they're 12 (one level higher than the Gym Leader's strongest Pokèmon...), then I'll go off to Sapphire and try my hand at the Leader there.)

((Level 10. There's this level cap thing. However, I can provide you with a bug, and a chance to level up at the same time.))
Lawrence reached a place where grass hemmed him around on all sides. There were ustlings and creakings, and then with a solid thump, a metapod dropped down from a tree overhead. Green heads poked out of the grass all around the human and the igglybuff.
<Brothers, He disturbs out special resting area!> the metapod yelled. <String shots loaded, fire at will!>
The air bcame white with flying caterpie spit, from ten different mouths.

All Lawrance could say before being tied up and hitting the ground was "AUGH!" After he hit the ground and it sunk in that he was stuck, he simply said, "SING!"
Igglybuff sang. Get yer earplugs.

The caterpie dropped off one by one into peaceful oblivion, while the metapod looked around desperately. His eyelids grew heavy, and he started to snore lightly, before his shell cracked, and fell off, leaving him an even fresher green, and awake. Shed skin was such a useful ability.

Lawrance broke free from the string while they were asleep and stood up.
"Bouncy, Return!" he commanded.
Bouncy ran toward the Metapod in a superpowered Tackle.

The metapod hardend as Bouncy ran forward. When the igglybuff hit, the metapod stayed his ground, and the lighter pokemon bouncyed off his shiny shell.

"<Owie...>" said a slightly dazed Bouncy.
She shook it off and struck her usual battle pose, saying cheerfully, "<If we weren't fighting, I might try to befriend you...>"
"Bouncy, Return again!" he shouted.
Bouncy charged in for a second supercharged Tackle.

((Argggh! No the cute charm of paindom!))
<Wha?> the metapod asked, slightly dazed, as Bouncy slammed into him. He rocked slightly, bits of his shell cracking. <Well, you know, now that you say that -- he trailed off, and gazed at Bouncy.

She bounced back after collision and landed back in front of Lawrance.
"Bouncy, Return!" he commanded.
She charged in for a third supercharged Tackle.
(Can it use Tackle and String Shot like an evolved one, or does it just know Harden like a usual wild one?)

((Just harden, as it's just a wild metapod.))
The metapod was actually turned over in the dirt, this time, with its points sticking in. <You know,> the metapod said, somewhat harshly. <I don't think that this relationship is going to work out.>

"Bouncy, one more Return!" commanded Law.
The Igglybuff ran in for what was hopefully the final Return.

The bug rocked heavily, his spikes still impaled in the ground, and then with a cracking noise the rolled out of the divits that he had landed in. He lay there, bruised and his eyes glazed over in a faint.
Lawrence's pokedex beeped, and began to talk of its own accord, using a tinny computerized voice. "Congratulations, you've defeated a level 6 metapod. Your igglybuff gains 1/2 a level. She is now level 9. She has learned pound.
PS. Is this a better way of contacting you, Mr. This Place Should Burn?
PPS. Good work on the caterpie, too bad they're waking up."
And with that something small gree, and squishy attacked his leg, with a tackle, while another caterpie zoomed past Lawrence to attack Bounce.

"Bouncy, SING!" commanded Lawrance.
Bouncy sang... Again... Yay...

((This is what hapens when my brain self fries. <hits self with mallet> Sorry.))
The bugs blinked sleepily, and closed their eyes. The one that had tried to attack Lawrence was now drooling on his shoe. However sleep was wearing off for one of the other caterpie that had tried attacking the pair at first, and he fired a string shot right into Bouncy's mouth, effectively silencing the normal type.

"Bouncy, Pound that bug!" he commanded.
Bouncy walked up to the Caterpie and glared at it. She then spat out the wad of string and gave it one hard slap across the face.

The caterpie's head snapped around. He glared at Bouncy with one of his side facing eyes. <Why I oughtta,> he grimaced, straightening his head, and then sliding forward for a tackle attack.
