Right. I had a sudden inspiration, and even if it isn't totally original, it still sounds like it might be fun. Soooo...Here we go.
Long, long ago, before humans had mastered speech, the gods walked openly on the land, lending aid to those pokemon and people who needed it. There were many, many gods, one for each 'type' of pokemon. There was the Flying god, the Grass god, the Fire god, and many, many, others.
For a long time, things continued on in that string, and pokemon and humans lived peacefully together. Humans evolved, became more intelligent, and the gods gave a great gift to pokemon and humans. Friendship and the ability to understand one another.
There were a few, the ancient 'gym leaders', who befriended only a pokemon of the type of their favorite god. Then there were those who befriended any pokemon.
However, time continued, and the gods left the world for a while, for some reason long forgotten, if ever known. The understanding between pokemon and humans dwindled, and the friendship began to tip unbalanced. For a while, it was the 'dark times'. Pokemon and humans couldn't understand each other. Humans captured pokemon, did not befriend them.
But things have begun to look better now. A few humans, usually descending from the original 'gym leaders', have begun to rediscover the ability to speak with pokemon. And the friendship is balancing out again. However, all but the oldest of pokemon, the legendaries who are the last of their dying species, have forgotten the gods.
The gods have returned, in the guise of humans. They spoke and planned before returning to Earth, and they agreed that they should not remember their position as gods, for the world was not yet ready for the reappearance of the disappeared gods. They would, however, have a way to know each other when they saw each other. As a human, it would be different for each of them. One may have the oddest, but most certain, feeling that they had met each of the others before. Another may know the others name, before ever being introduced, and other such things.
So the gods have returned, though they no longer know it. What happens now?
---
Blech. That sounded pretty bad...Ah well. Anyways, if you haven't guessed, you get to play as a god, or if you don't want to, someone else. XD I’d prefer if you didn't play as a pokemon though, unless there are at least five people already.
Mind you, I don't want anyone playing more than two people, or it gets way confusing.
A few rules for the gods:
They don't have amazing super powers, unless it relates to their type! Meaning, the psychic god would have psychic powers, but they couldn't spit fire out of their mouths, unless they used that carnival trick. Got it? Good. Also, they can't be awesome at using these powers. In fact, they can only use them well if they are in life-threatening danger. Otherwise, while they may be able to use them, it's going to be pretty pitiful. Like. The electricity god just might, /might/ be able to manage a little static spark instead of a lightening bolt.
You can have some way of looking like you belong to a type. Have blue hair if you want to be water or something, if you wish. No pokemorphs however. First off, you'd probably be branded as a freak and living in the freak show of a carnival, and because they just don't exist in this roleplay.
Lastly, the gods can change into any pokemon sharing their type. That ought to make you pokemorph lovers happy enough, although there are similar restrictions on this as to the powers. Everyone gets to choose their own way-So long as it isn't going to be a problem, where they go changing into caterpie often!-of changing into one. Who knows? Maybe the fire god has a phobia of large bodies of water, and when he/she somehow ends up in a lake, river, ocean, or something, he changes into a pokemon? Since he's got a phobia of them, he isn't likely to go changing into a magby any time soon, and he won't by small little pools or glasses of water, or the rain.
Lastly, the gods can understand pokemon. All pokemon. It doesn't have to be just their type. How your 'god' utilizes this is your business, but I thought I'd mention it.
Oh wait! The gods need to be close to the same age, so I'll give five years leeway from each other. Let's say the range is....sixteen to twenty-one.

Okays. When you enter, I want to know the following things, because otherwise I have no clue who your character is.
For gods:
Name:
Human Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
God Type:
Pokemon: (Note: They have a dislike (though they don't know why) for caging pokemon against their wills, so they probably won't have more than a couple of pokemon who willingly joined up with them. And these may not have poke balls.)
It's your choice to put anything else, but those are must haves. I don't have to know your character's history, and I don't have to know your character's personality, but you ought to be able to fill out what anyone is going to see at first glance, and the name.
For non-gods:
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Occupation: (as in, trainer, gym leader, gym trainer, pokecenter assistant, blah-blah-blah, etc...)
Pokemon:

-Huffs and puffs- You know, I can guarantee I'm going to have to save this, because my computer is going to make me restart before I post it. -Nods-
I'll try and copy everyone's 'form' and put it up here, so that you don't have to scroll through posts to get someone's form who joined up later.
Name: Chance Woodstock
Human Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: Slender and athletic, standing around five foot five. Chance has simple looks, someone who you wouldn't look at twice and who rarely sticks in anyone's memory. Well, except for one thing. Chance's hair is the fairly normal, common color of brown, straight, and about bottom-of-the-ear length. However, the tips of his hair are either a snow white, or a night black color, and his 'bangs', which are pushed to the side of his face, are white with black tips. He hasn't got any real reason for this, it's just been that way since birth. His eyes are a normal blue color, not dark or light, just normal. He usually wears normal clothing, that being a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt with the print of the pidgey-evolution string.
God Type: Bird
Pokemon: Yrin (Yih-Rin) the pidgey. --Yrin has a pokeball, though he only goes in it when he's tired and Chance doesn't want to stop, or some other such thing. His feathers are also white, because he likes to have them bleached and painted. It's been a while since they were last painted though (it isn't cheap!), so the only remnants of color is the outline around his eyes, which happen to be bright blue.
Name: Lumear Junaro
Human Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: An average male boy who stands at five foot four. He has a scrawney body and beady little eyes. He wears a silver shirt with a salamance on it and blue jeans with stars on them.
God Type: Dragon
Pokemon: Mikiru- A crazy bagon. He has a pokeball used for when he needs rest. He has black where a normal one is purple. He has a blue jewel in the middle of his forehead.
Name: Aiko (doesn't know her last name)
Human Age: 10 years, 8 months old
Gender: Female
Appearance: A short little girl who looks a lot younger than she is. She stands at around 4 feet 7 inches, and usually wears some sort of dress. Usually she wears a lot of bright, happy colors, often pink or yellow. Her favorite dress (she usually wears it or a look-alike...she's got a few changes of this dress) is a short-sleeved, soft-pink cotton dress with large sleeves, white cuffs, a white collar, three white buttons, and a white rim of cloth at the bottom of the to-just-above-the-knees skirt portion. She usually wears white sandals over white, folded over socks. Her hair is black and, when down, goes to a little past her shoulders. However, she usually puts it up in pigtails with (usually) large pink hair-ties. Her brown eyes are as large as you can have when you have almond-shaped eyes, her skin is a little dark, and her face is innocent-looking. She looks...very alive.
God Type: Ghost (mrahahaha)
Pokemon: Dai (short for Daiyamondo, or "Diamond" in Aiko's first language): Dai is a strangely overprotective Sableye who adopted the lost Aiko when she was separated from her parents. Or something...she never really knew them. Dai realized Aiko knew what he was saying, and somehow took an almost parental liking to the girl. He's the best friend and the closest family she has.
Name: Matthew Hamlet
Human Age: 21
Gender: Male
Appearance: Matthew wears a black suit and vest, with a black bowler hat, though he doesn't know why he suddenly has taken an interest in this kind of clothing. He also wears black rimmed full moon glasses.
God Type: Dark
Pokemon: Murkrow, This Pokemon has taken his bowler hat as her nest, and has yet to leave him, what is strange to him is that he seems to be the only one that can understand her, and that she has a protective attitude for him.
Name: Dama Dickens
Human Age: 19
Gender: Female
Appearance: She's a very -- solid person. To put it less politely, she's fat. Not obese, but certainy well rounded in the kind of "Fairytale Grandmother" type way. Too bad she doesn't have the jolly personality to match. She tends to wear darker clothing, as that's supposed to make you look slimmer, and she pulls her hair away from her face in a attempt to make her full cheeks look less full and have her cheek bones more prominent.
As can be guessed, she is very insecure about her looks, which, although they would have been considered very attractive in the middle ages, today in the world of anorexia, are just considered ugly. And because of her insecurity, she pretends to be rough and tough, and not care.
God Type: Steel
Pokemon: None, as she stayed in school rather than go out on any journey. Although she doesn't admit it, she is actually afraid of pokeballs

Celadon was amazing. Chance was from the small town of Viridian, and he simply couldn't believe the size of this city. He'd seen larger towns than Goldenrod-He was traveling, after all-but nothing so big as this. He also had no clue where he was, except that the Celadon Department Store was to his right, simply because that building simply had to be the largest, except for, maybe, the building beyond it, which he could just see.
<We ought to just leave, you know.>
Chance stared at the pidgey on his shoulder, raising an eyebrow. He couldn't really reply, considering his was on a crowded street and people would hear him talking to the bird, but he did mumble something that sounded like, "And pass up the chance to see a rare bird pokemon?"
<I'm rare enough. You aren't ever going to see another bird as handsome as me, I'll have you know. Of course, being as dense as you are, it might be hard for that to occur...Honestly; I don't see why you're so skittish about people knowing you can talk to me. Imagine the money you could make off of it? I could get my feathers painted whenever I wanted to, if you'd just go on a TV show or something.>
Chance shook his head, a small smile on his face. Really, Yrin was the vainest bird he had yet met, and in his own way, the pidgey really was the rarest bird. At least, Chance hadn't met another bird yet who enjoyed getting their feathers bleached and painted.
