^^;; It seemed like a cool idea at the moment, so I just mimic you. Although it does look neat, I think I made another sand rodent then a sand cat...

Using my current creative sputter, I was able to figure out the names of the Jenta starter set I'm making. Since they themselves are out of the norm for starters, I decided to do something that would make them even more out of the norm. I'm putting up some simple information for right now since I'm going to work on each line separately. I'm going to fit their evolution levels to the Jenta group scale so they evolve within each one.
The Ice line
Name: Icytriev Type: Ice
Description: They're small puppies that are slightly larger (and more proportional) than eevee. They have short light-blue-to-white hairs covering their bodies. They don't have fanged teeth, so they can't really bite, but they do have flopped ears and a slightly bushy tail like an umbreon. Their eyes are two toned: one is always white while the other can be any color. They have black noses and small dull nails.
Pokedex data: Snow Puppy Pokemon: Known for their loyalty to small children. These Pokemon are used by daycare center in snowy places as extra eyes. They keep all the children together by gently pushing them. If any of them get lost, a pack of these Pokemon can track them down with little effort, but considering that they're always playing with the children, this rarely happens.
Icytriev, nicknamed Iceski or Upski, eat anything considered food, but it has to be cold or chilled. If it isn't, they'll either cool it themselves or they won't eat it. Since their coats have ice crystal growing in them, it's considered good grooming to spray them with water, but too much water will cause their fur to freeze over. If this happens, leave them in the sun for a while so they can thaw out their fur.
It is easier to explain the principles and mechanics of the internal combustion engine to an average person than the organic systems Icytriev and its evolutions use to maintain their existence to a person with a doctors in animal biology. The end result of all of their bodily functions is fur that houses tiny ice crystals and tail fur that release warm heat. This is all a trainer needs to know about its organics. There have been hundreds of research paper written at Fernwood to describe their unique and mind-bending organ systems, from why they eat cold food to the anti-freeze compound that rushes around their bodies.
(Special Ability:) (Move Set:) (Stat Ratios:) Evolves at level:
Name: Frostriev Type: Ice Description: Think white, light blue, and gray Golden retriever in top performance shape. Pokedex data: Snow Dog Pokemon: Known for protecting rescuers as they do their work. (Special Ability:) (Move Set:) (Stat Ratios:) Evolves at level:
Name: Hailtriev Type: Ice Description: A large, heavy dog with long hair. Think white, light blue, and gray Sheep dog / Retriever Mix. Pokedex data: Hail Pokemon: Known for finding uncounsios people in snow storms. (Special Ability:) (Move Set:) (Stat Ratios:) Evolves at level:
Name: Bliztriev Type: Ice Description: A huge and heavy dog with long hair. Think white, light blue, and gray Sheep dog / Retriever Mix again. Pokedex data: Blizzard Pokemon: This pokemon is known for finding people lost in blizzards that have given up all hope of rescue. (Special Ability:) (Movesets:) (Stat Ratios:)
The Ground line
Name: Sanzee Type: Ground Description: Small tan cat with a dust cloud around its feet. Pokedex data: Sand Kitty Pokemon: Known for causing dust clouds when scared by running around. (Special Ability:) (Movesets:) (Stat Ratios:) Evolves at level:
Name: Sandez Type: Ground Description: A tan Ocelot-like cat with brown circular markings. A dust cloud surrounds its feet. Pokedex data: Sand Cat Pokemon: Known for covering it's prey with a dense dust cloud. (Special Ability:) (Movesets:) (Stat Ratios:) Evolves at level:
Name: Dundez Type: Ground Description: Large brown Ocelot-like cat with black circular markings. A miniature sandstorm covers its feet. Pokedex data: Sand Dune Pokemon: Known for building sand dunes in minutes. (Special Ability:) (Movesets:) (Stat Ratios:) Evolves at level:
Name: Deztah Type: Ground Description: Deztah are large felines with powerful leg muscles and strong lungs. Tan spotted coats cover most of their bodies while their throats and abdomens areas are white. Their rounded long tails have seven black rings on them.
Black and white masks hide their faces, leaving only their black outline eyes, nose, and lower jaw exposed. Black tear marks are the beginning point of their streamlined mask. The masks have all sorts of patterns on them that differ for each one.
Although they have small teeth compared to Jagury, their jaws mimic a vice once they bite. Each of their paws contains strong claws used to gain better traction. Dewclaws on their front paws grant them the ability to grip their prey more efficiently.
Pokedex data: Sand Cheetah Pokemon: Fast and tough, Deztah takes on any opponent brave enough to mess with it. Sandstorms form in their wake when they run across their desert territories.
Five feet high and nine feet long from nose to tail, Deztah are known for being used by the pharaohs as guards and personal companions. When a pharaoh was in a battle, this Pokémon was the last Pokémon to appear before the match ended with the pharaoh being the victor.
(Special Ability:) (Movesets:) (Stat Ratios:)
The Steel line
Name: Catamury Type: Steel Description: It's a small gray kitten, smaller than a Skitty, with two sharp front teeth. A long tail with a curled dark gray tip matches with its two straight whiskers and large ears. It doesn't have claws or its evolved forms black markings, but it can change its whole body color to a dark gray when it wants to. Their fur is a mixture of elements that create smooth short hairs that don't oxidized (meaning they don't rust). Researchers at Fernwood tower say that Aron and its evolutions have the same alloy covering their bodies. Pokedex data: Known for eating anything with mercury in it. They can break open thermometers and other measuring devices with their metallic teeth to get the small amounts of mercury they need in their blood. This mercury never leaves their bodies since their evolved forms need it. They eat carbon-based lifeforms, but only they contain a lot of metal in them, like iron, and, of course, mercury. Other than that, small metal objects make up their diet: metal pencils, pens, wire, aluminum foil, etc. (Special Ability:) (Movesets:) Stat Ratios: Attack = Defense > Sp. Defense = Health Points > Sp. Attack > Speed Evolves at level: To be determined
Name: Panthury Type: Steel Description: (MF's sprite) It's quite a big cat, about the size of a Delcatty. Four long whiskers, a curled tail, and large ears, all going from gray at the base to dark gray, adorn its body. They still have their gray fur, but black markings appear when its heart rate is heightened. The fur where the black markings appear contain a rare and special compound of Mercury that allows this Pokemon to go from a plain color to a gray brindle. It can change it's gray fur to dark gray, but can't change the colors of its markings when they appear. Pokedex data: Mercury Cat Pokemon: Known for hunting anything with a good amount of iron inside them. They can sense the iron and other metals in the prey they hunt. Most of the time, they follow Aron around to see if they can find the plants and animals it loves to eat. When they're really desperate, they'll try to eat an Aron. Usually, they'll end up getting a plate off of it instead. When traveling with one, be prepared to feed them iron and zinc supplements, as they'll probably not get the right levels of metals they need to live. They also eat mercury as well, so keeping thermometer handy would be a good idea. (Special Ability:) (Movesets:) Stat Ratios: Defense > Attack = Sp. Defense > HP > Speed = Sp. Attack Evolves at level:
Name: Cougury Type: Steel Description: Bigger gray cat than Panthury. Black markings still happen, but the tail turns black as well. The four whiskers, long tail and big ears are changeable. Usually, they are keep in until needed, so they'll look like they have no whiskers, a bobbed tail, and small round ears. Pokedex data: Metal Sound Pokemon: Known for their broad language of sounds. Better known for there heart stopping screams. (Special Ability:) (Movesets:) (Stat Ratios:) Evolves at level:
Name: Jagury Type: Steel Description: They are huge cats with gray fur with permanent black markings that appear circular and in blotches. It kept its retractable body features, but gained the ability to turn it's whole body black. Pokedex data: Metal Fang Pokemon: Known for its efficient hunting style of attacking the head with its exceptionally powerful jaws. (Special Ability:) (Movesets:) (Stat Ratios:)

I'm gonna try to work on them more today, and yes, Catamury love to eat anything with mercury in it or anything that came in contact with mercury: thermometers, thermostats, fluorescent lights, fish with high levels of Mercury in them, ect. Because their bodies are more metallic-based then carbon-based, shattering glass in their mouths ain't a problem.

Update: Catamury's description, Pokedex data, and stat ratio is completed for now. MF, could you think up some attacks and an ability for it? I'll figure out the evolution level later.
Update: Panthury's description, Pokedex data, and stat ratio is completed. Now it's in the same boat as it's pre-evo.
Update: Jentan starter: Steel thread has been made for Catamury and its evos to use. Now I need to do another line, probably the ice one next because I love my dog ideas. ^^

Special Ability: Steel Fangs - Any physical (bodily) attack against a steel type pokemon causes normal damage, as opposed to being "not very effective."
Movesets: 00 Scratch 00 Growl 09 Bite 15 Metal Claw 17 Screech 23 Iron Tail 25 Harden 31 Bounce (is there no attack that counts as pouncing?) 33 Iron Defense 39 Slash 41 Slam
Stat Ratios: Attack = Defense > Sp. Defense = Health Points > Sp. Attack > Speed Evolves at level: 16
BTW, I suggest following the game cannon for these four forms, since they are the Jentan Starters. Evo from base to first stage: 16, First to second stage: 36 and 56 for final evo (4 x 4 = 16, 4 x 9 = 36, 4 x 14 = 56)

So, yeah I think for sanzee I'm gonna stick with the move set that I made for it in the beginning, with a few tweaks.
Name: Sanzee
Type: Ground
Description: Small tan cat with a dust cloud around its feet.
Pokedex data: Sand Kitty Pokemon: Known for causing dust clouds when scared by running around.
Special Ability: Sand Veil - Ups evasion in sandstorms
Moveset: 01 - Quick Attack, Sand Attack 05 - Growl 07 - Astonish 09 - Rapid Spin 13 - Sandstorm 17 - Scratch 21 - Dig 25 - Swift 29 - Sand Tomb 30 - Fake Out 37 - Fury Swipes 40 - Slash 45 - Extreme Speed ('Cause Jolty Luffs)
Stat Ratios: Speed >> Attack > Defense = Special Defense > Special Attack
Evolves at level: 16
Also: Why are we basing the snow finding dog after golden retrievers, when the St. Bernard and German shepherd are the dogs that were actually bred to do snow retrival?

Name: Icytriev Type: Ice Description: Think white and gray mid-size puppy. Pokedex data: Snow Puppy Pokemon: Known for their loyalty to small children. Special Ability: Snow Run - Ups speed in snowy conditions (after blizzard, icy wind, hail, etc. have been used) Move Set: 01 - Oder Sleuth, Tackle 04 - Double Team 10 - Powder Snow 13 - Haze 16 - Endure 19 - Headbutt 22 - Protect 25 - Icy Wind 28 - Frost Bite 31 - Crunch 33 - Mist 36 - Roar 40 - Takedown 45 - Blizzard
Stat Ratios: Attack > Special Attack > Speed > Special Defense > Defense (note, as the 'triev line evolves speed lowers, while special stats become higher in the chain so:
Stage 1 stat ratio: Attack = Special Attack > Special Defense > Speed > Defense Stage 2 stat ratio: Special Attack > Attack > Special Defense > Defense > Speed Stage 3 stat ratio: Special Attack > Special Defense > Attack > Defense > Speed
Evolves at level: 16

I based the snow dog on a retriever because of naming difficulties. They're actually suppose to be more like golden retriever / Siberian Husky Mix that ends up being something that looks and acts like a St. Bernard. I could rename them and find another dog line to do with the retrievers... But I think it would end up being a water line, even though Pokemon has enough water types to me...

You don't even need to bother to re-name them. Just have them look like the dogs they act like. They're supposed to retrieve people from the snow. Dey don't need a different name to do that. Just general animalness.
I gets annoyed by false pseudo-zoology ^^

I believe that base image is a rattata, but I could be wrong, but those ear are skitty's and at least I think the tail belongs to rattata... or meowth. I'm not quite sure yet.
Update: Icytriev's pokemon data and description is up, although I don't like the description. I'll probably redo it when I get a better mental image of how it should look.
